I stopped paying for lawn service after 15 years since the prices are getting out of hand now. There was no way I wanted the maintenance and hassle with a gas mower, so I chose the LM2156SP and am super impressed with it. Tons of power and that 10ah battery is sweet. Ego's battery tech is a huge reason I went with the brand.
I made the same decision this season. I picked up the 2156, the 615 CFM blower, the Line IQ trimmer and a Hart trimmer with the edger attachment. I love throwing a battery in and going.
@@lwc_jI’m happy to report that after a full season of use, this mower has been a solid performer. I’ve had not a single issue thus far and the select cut blades seem to do a fine job
Just went to Ace to get mine. No issues dealing with them. In fact, it was a better experience because they’re smaller and more customer oriented. Lowe’s fan boy 👍🏻✌🏻
I just bought the ego mower last week and I just love it! Mine is also self propelled, but it's 1 step down from yours, it cuts for atleast 50 minutes, but I am sure it can go much longer! Cheers
Thanks for the the comment / view. I get about 45 minutes on a mow if the grass is too high and using the self propelled. on a normal mow with self propelled 50 minutes. If i do mostly push on normal growth with no self propelled i can squeeze and hour.
EGO has a battery problem. I bought an EGO lawnmower in 2021. My only concern was how long the battery would last. That turned out to be a valid concern. The original battery stopped working in 6 months. Fortunately, they replaced it under warranty. Unfortunately, 6 months later the replacement stopped working. They told me their replacements aren't covered by warranty so I was SOL. The only option they offered was to purchase a new battery at the retail price. Which was more than I paid for the mower originally. Fool me once...back to a gas mower for me.
I just bought one. will pick up tomorrow. but now I am thinking I need a torque wrench for changing those blades or taking them off and putting back on :(
I just bought the 21" push version #2114 at Lowes $449 + tax. I'll be happier than Forrest Gump come tomorrow after work:) Off the cuff I was going to go with Ryobi 40 Volt but after researching here and looking at ratings (on Amazon) I decided to go with the EGO. These had a very small percentage of 1 star ratings which can't be said of the Ryobi's.
How do you clean the grass off the under side of the deck? I've been flipping it into storage position and using a dull garden tool to scrape away the grass. I do this after each mow and I'd like an easier way. Just got my second one, an upgrade. The first one lasted 9 years and the battery conked out. It made more money sense to buy a new unit which includes the battery than just the battery because the battery is very expensive.
After i mow, i remove the battery, flip on the side and let dry. Then i use a putty knife (use a plastic one to not scratch up the deck like crazy) and just scrape the majority out. has done well for me. Prices on all high battery powered items have been dropping like crazy lately. Mass production and competition have helped so good for the consumer.
Thanks for taking the time and sharing your video! I’m totally on board with giving back and not polluting our wonderful earth with gas power. I don’t have a lot of grass that needs to be cut so battery life is not a concern, to me the most important is how do they cut and how are the blades on these..are they easy to sharpen when needed?
I have all EGO equipment. However, don’t fool yourself thinking we’re doing good by the environment. The carbon impact on the batteries alone is astronomically greater than internal combustion. Also, our batteries are probably powered by coal. It’s convenient, not earth saving.
Sorry for big delay, apparently your comment was filtered out. I am still loving this thing. I use it only for the immediate area around the front and side of my yard. I use a big riding mower for the rest and do not worry about keeping it as nice. I have had zero issues. I still get about 50 minutes run time on full charge. take care
Thank you for this review! What's your honest review on it since you've had it? Yay purchase or nay purchase? Regret buying it? Or would you recommend it?
Honestly i love it with a Caveat. I have about 4 acres i care for. i use the Ego to mow the main front yard, side yard, and around the kid's play area. I set it to mulch all the time and on 3-4 height. I get about 50-55 minutes of run time which is the perfect amount for this job. It down an excellent job. If i let the grass get too high, i go with a 4 in height and slow down slightly. I am very happy with the purchase up to this point. I am pleasantly surprised with the power and rarely boggs down.

The caveat is that it really depends on your usage. if using the self propelled and grass is higher and more strenuous, expect 45-50 minutes run time. If using on a nice flat lawn that is well maintained, closer to 60. A great buy that i am very happy with.
UA-cam should delete all the other videos about this mower and leave only this one 😂 I just got it and put it together along with this video. Then watched 100 more videos and ended here again 😅
Boxed weight was 98 with the extra blades, charger, attachments, and accessories. It is pretty heavy thought. i have to lift it up 2 steps to get it out the garage each time and it is tedious. If you were just putting it in the upright position and wheeling into the garage or storage would be easy to manage.

Oh very nice with the giant 10ah battery! Really impressed so far with the power for a battery powered mower. really appreciate the feedback

I bought the same mower several weeks ago with the 10 amp battery and very impressed with it. Hopefully I can get many years of use from it.
Got my 2156 yesterday and just tested it. So far I'm impressed and looking forward to the first mowing.

Great review, my Ego self propelled mower is in a box in my garage and this unboxing video was really insightful
Glad to help. Love this mower
Thank you. This really helped me. I am anxious to try it out

Not gonna lie. I bought this model because I hated cleaning the dog poop in our backyard and wanted to use the mulching with the select cut X.

The EGO is nearly 25 pounds lighter than Ryobi also! That’s a lot! ✌🏻👍🏻
Thank you for the video. Extremely helpful. I like that you covered the small things, that other videos assume a person would know.
Glad to help out.

@@AlteredPopNmodz Thanks. I'll give it a try.
Great video👍🏽 especially for a 1 arm camera man 😁.
I just purchased the 10ah select cut.
Very nice. hope it has been doing well for you
got the one with 7.5 but man that 10 would be great but man its pricy
Great job
nice to meet you!total excellent ~ see you soon- =)
Thanks for watching
Great video - I just bought one from Lowes. Still in the box. Is there a part 2 to this video? Can't find it.
They have a better now. 22" 11ft lb torque !! Beast
I don't mow at night and I don't ride a bike at night😊
Smart! Generally if i see someone working in the yard at night i question if they are trying to bury a body or something ;)
Nice mower but the cheaper model doesn't bag real well. Perhaps, it needs a different blade
Thanks for taking the time and sharing your video!

I have one of these in my ACE shopping cart. Do you still have it and use it? worth it? I'm also planning on getting the 24" snowblower. 👍🏻

If it had a quality steel deck you could use it as a boat anchor.
ha...great point
Ohhh yeah. Juicey
Spicey
Switch to high lift blade before bagging.
good tip. I tried bagging and after a couple tries at that, i just keep it mowed enough and keep the mulching action. Works surprisingly well.

wonderful video big likes
Great Video my friend
thanks for watching
Did you get your Veteran’s discount on the mower?
They didnt give vet discount because they did the price match unfortunately

nice

Five "quadrants"? sigh...
Yes it works. But it weighs 3x as much as a real lawn mower. Doesn't make sense to me. Did you say 100 pounds?
