    Dont know if it will help anybody, but if you actually enable editing of the principal shader and go inside and do the noise there. Karma will work just fine in most casses. Dont know why noise doesnt work on top level.

      Good to know. I've submitted a proper bugreport last week at any rate, sidefx are to look into that. Does this work for bevel mask too? Noise seems to be working fine in my example as well.

    How is Karmas rendering speed compaired to Mantra?

      The basic shader evaluation in IPR is faster. The real world scene is not possible to compare since Karma gives me hard crash and/or bugs into oblivion.

      @@AriseWorks I did some tests and I felt that it is the same to slower it still needs work, I care more about the new render engine than the USD stuff for most users a GPU render would be more helpful than that imho.

      Karma is basically Mantra optimized for USD. It's a bit buggy. A little faster here, a little slower there. If you don't need USD, it's not really worth talking about right now aside from the new lops workflow.
