    In this lesson we will talk about many things: creating ramps, sorting points, creating color gradients by using simple math, and controlling it all together to get interesting effects, useful both for modeling and motion graphics.

    Great visualization and structure in your tutorial. This helped me understand a 2D concept I was comfortable with and understand the more complex 3D concept

    To get a range of values from 0 exactly to 1, subtract 1 from numprim inside the VOPs. This divides the range into equal sections in steps of 0.125.

    very well explained and helpful. Thank you. One question, is there a way to connect geo, like a sphere, to the Sort node to control/animate the position and size of the "proximity to point" more easily?

      I would say attribute transfer might be the thing you are looking for.

    How would you do the same in VOLUME VOP? radial gradient.

    I am in Houdini 19.5 but when I add the Cd attribute in the extrude's distance scale, in the VOP, it does not seem to accept it. Is there some conversion that needs to happen in newer versions of Houdini?

    Question: so when in the SOP network you divide each ptnum by the numprim, the result is reapplied to the corresponding ptnum? Why is the result applied to each corresponding ptnum instead of the entire object?

    • @AriseWorks
      @AriseWorks  4 роки тому +1

      Point number by the [total] number of points, not primitives, in this example. You run VOP over points, not object. If you want to run it over object, you need to pack, but that's a different topic.

      @@AriseWorks so is the default VOP run over points?

    • @AriseWorks
      @AriseWorks  4 роки тому

      You can define what it runs over. I talked about in some video, cant recall.
