Hi Mr. Thompson you're a big inspiration to me. I have a degenerative muscle disease and am wheelchair bound but i watch all of your videos and i try to follow along the best i can to your workouts that i can actually do so i can maintain what strength i still have. i just wanted to comment this in hopes that you'd read it and know that your videos help a lot of people from all walks of life, i'll always root for you and thank you for giving me new ideas for exercises i can do and the inspiration to try my best to accomplish them. Best wishes to you and your loved ones Mr. Thompson, thank you.
@@DEV-1nOnly Absolutely not lol. There's a lot more that goes into "just throw your legs up". You gotta think of contingencies for baiting, you gotta condition your shins, there's the aspect of redirecting the force from your opponent's kicks, etc.
I was looking at many hand wrapping tutorials and then I see your video I didn't even hesitate to use your style. Thanks Wonderboy you are the true MVP
Just watched your GQ breakdown video; amazing stuff. It still amazes me we get this kind of content for free. I hope to make it out to your gym one day!
Just had my first 2 boxing classes and they helped me wrap my hands for the first one. I felt embarrassed if they helped me for the second so I had this playing in my car 15mins before my 2nd class learning how to wrap my own hands. You made it really simple Wonderboy thanks for the help! This will go down in history for me ahaha. 🤣🙏🔥🥋
Do a technique Tuesday on how you use feinting and fakes in MMA! You have some of the best feints I've seen and I'm curious when and how you implement them! All the Best W.B. and Tony!
WONDERRBOYYY!!!! Huge fan man, I’m not gonna stop commenting till I get your attention man, my bad 😭😂, you’re a huge inspiration cuz of you I lost a lot of weight and got my life together and gonna start the amateurs soon, I love you champ !!!!! ♥️🦾👍🏽 thank you ‼️
I’m getting back into MMA right now after a few months off due to injury, and I’ve been so invested in your Technique Tuesdays. Thank you for helping me out while I’ve been on the road of recovery Wonderboy!
@majkll2849 Doing quite well, been back in the gym good as new 💪had 3 smoker fights after that. Current record is 2 wins 1 loss. I appreciate you asking years later bro, I feel great 🫡
@majkll2849 As far as how it happened, just had too much of a wild night too many drinks. Fell down in an awkward way and all my weight landed on my ankle. Heard something pop, next thing I know excruciating pain but I'm also fucked up wasted so it's somewhat bearable lol.
@majkll2849 My recovery was a long 5 months, I was absolutely losing my mind in my room lmao. That wasn't including still having to take it easy on my movement the first couple months too. But yeah it was a long time coming, it can get hard too mentally but it gets better. Before you know it you feel good as new. 🫡
@majkll2849 You know the messed up part was, right before I got hurt I had just got done telling my father that I had decided I wanted to fight. Then boom, fractured ankle lol.
Stephen, I just came on your video to make a message that is more important and that is for you and your family to keep extremely safe to keep away from the Coronavirus. Wishing you and the family all the very best. I can not wait until this is over to watch your fights again, God bless you brother.
Hey wonderboy. You are my biggest inspiration and you and every day you push me to be great. I just want to say thank you for been such a good role model
Hey, man. Greetings to you from Russia. A big fan of yours, always rooting for you. I was just surprised to find out that I'm bandaging my hands the same way you are)) I've been doing this ever since I started training Muay Thai and spied my own way of bandaging on a videotape of Benny Urquidez's lessons, it was in the late ' 90s. As I realized later, this method is significantly different from how it is accepted here in Russia. Neither better nor worse, just different. My method of bandaging was different from that of all the guys I trained with. And since then, it's the first time I've seen someone who bandages their hands like this!!)) Man, you just brought me back to my youth just for a minute, and I want to say thank you)) I wish you all the best, and I hope you win the championship belt. P.S. Sorry if I made a mistake, my English is not very good))
Now I feel stupid as hell for wrapping my hands the way I did for the last 7 years. From this day on, I´m wrapping my hands Wonderboy style. Thank you, sir, feels much better.
Legit handy videos, I fight in Mauy Thai here in Australia and your advice is pretty adaptable for it so thanks heaps Wonderboy... Also I've been tapping my shins with half a broom stick for awhile now thanks to you.
You are awesome, from the bottom of my heart, keeping entertaining us during this quarantine time just show that you are such a nice and cool human being!
this is fantastic. I've tried many methods but they end up unravelling. These techniques are really secure and focus a lot on making it unwrap-proof. Thanks a lot!!!!
Hello, I'm Brazilian and I really admire your work and your fighting style, I do karate since I was 8 years old and today I'm 22, my dream is to fight professionally and mirror myself, I wish you every success in the world! despite being the best striker in mma, you are an amazing and respected human being! oss
Being Stephen wonderboy Thompson's ardent fan I'm extremely proud to be born the same day he was born on february 11. I love the dragon spin celebration every time he celebrates it after a win and also his fight technique education videos
Thank you so so so much for this video Wonderboy!! Just started my KB/MMA “training” and I was wondering how to do my wraps!! Thank you sensei! Much love from the Indigneous in Saskatchewan, Canada!
Really glad I watched this video because this is almost exactly how I wrap my hands, the only differences are that I never do the single wrap around my thumbs but I will try that next time I wrap my hands and that when I use 120" wraps instead of 108" wraps, I do 3 around my wrist to start and 3 around my knuckles right after instead of 2 and 2 like in this video.
I’m definitely going to start wrapping this way because I like how you go around the back of the thumb each time before going through the fingers. I also like how the thumb is wrapped. I’m also going to try the non-stretch wraps to see what you are talking about. Thanks 🙏
0:30 If you hit PROPERLY without wraps you won't hurt your wrist, if you mess up once tho you can sprain your wrist. Wrap every time, BUT ocassionaly AND carefully hit the bag without wraps. So you can get an feel for punching without the support (for self defense)
Love from Trinidad and Tobago, Stephen, it will be a great shame if your legacy doesn't continue through your offspring like your father did. GOD BLESS!! YOU ARE THE BEST.
This could be added in a good fighters hygiene series, i basically wear wraps to absorb sweat so my glove stay fresher when i hang them to dry, i don't go hard enough in sparring to warrant the wrist protection, but it does prevent my gloves from smelling.
Hey Wonderboy and Sweet-T. I thought it would be cool if you did a video where Wonderboy reacts to his UFC3 stats in depth and discusses with us which stat he might think EA got to low or to high etc. Think that would be a fun video to watch! Thanks guys
What size of hand wraps do you use Stephen?? I tried this hand wrap technique with a 180' one and had to go four times instead of two in the knuckles and wrist because if I do it twice like you explained I would end up with a LOT of wrap not being used…anyways, thanks a lot for the video, greetings from Uruguay
“Obviously the hooks for the thumb, you guys knew that.” You overestimate me Wonderboy.
😂
😂
😂
Knowing me I would've tried to place it over my wrist
Fun fact i thought it went through the middle finger the first time i tried to wrap my hands for the first time

You should do a technique Tuesday on how to check kicks!
Drew Baseball he did one on how to do it with a karate stance
All you have to do is when someone throws a leg kick, raise your leg up...
