@@bososmark I think we are actually 4th at this point, just short of the Baltic countries and especially if you look at the qualitative edges we are providing, particularly F-16s which is something only we, the Netherlands and a few others could do. We are literally donating about half of our fleet of F-16s to Ukraine! In proportion to population, this would amount to the US contributing about 270 billion dollars.

I Think Ukraine has proven that they are part of Europe now. Putler wanted to sway them away from Europe and become trade partners with Ruzzia, but they chose to trade with Europe and that was one of the reasons for putler to invade and try to take all of Ukraine. In the 12th century two princesses from Kyivan Rus' became Danish Queens, and a third one became the mother of King Valdemar the Great. She was the one who brought the name Valdemar/Volodymyr into the Danish royal family. The new Crown Prince Christian's name is actually Christian Valdemar. As far as I can see, he is the 29 x great-grandchild of Grand Prince Yaroslav the Wise.

I read that the son of the Norwegian prince studied and lived in Kyiv and this was a common practice between the princely families of Rus' and Scandinavia. How close we were in history.
I am from Denmark and have visited Ukraine around 10 times since my first visit back in 2008. I fell in love with the Country the first time I went there, the nature, the language, the very suspicious wagons on the street selling amazing kvas. I Cannot wait to go back when victory comes. 💪🇺🇦🇩🇰💪
I don't mind if the ordinary Ukrainian doesn't know all the details and statistics... it's their country under attack.
But I'm happy that it seems like we and our neighbours leave a positive impression.

I was in Ukraine for the Euro 2012. Some of the nicest people i ever met. Love from Denmark❤
The monetary value of the military aid that Denmark has given to Ukraine so far is six times that of France and tree times that of France, Spain and Italy combined. I'm not saying that to toot our own horn, but it does seem to me some nations should do more, much more.
Hopefully the training of pilots and technicians will so be done, so that the delivery of F-16's can take place.
The F-16's were supposed to be decommissioned a long time ago. Their retirement was delayed because we didn't buy new ones until they were ready to be retired and delivery of the new F-35A fighters would take many years(we've still only received a fraction of the 27 fighters we bought). They are dangerous to fly at anywhere near their top speed because the chassis has experienced too much stress throughout the years of service. They're literally about to fall apart and are barely suitable for light training and any missions undertaken in Ukraine will likely be suicide missions.
It's a scheme to win votes at home nothing more.
@@williamhansen9456 I agree the F-16s aren't what they once where, but they won't fall apart like that. First of all they won't ever come close to their top speed, especially in war. Secondly, the only real issue on the airframes would be a close in dogfight with high G loads, which is very unlikely seeing the lack of close in air engagements in Ukraine. They'll only really be fancy missile trucks, which they're perfectly good at in their current state.

@@gulgaio The Ukrainian MIGs are under utilized and can deliver missiles just as well as F-16s. If the Danish governments intent was to help Ukraine they'd send the F-35As we've received, but they don't.
All they send is stuff that would've otherwise been retired.
It like buying 3 hotdogs eating two and realizing you're already full.
So you go to the trash can to throw the last one out and you see a homeless person next to the trash can and decide to give it to him, while keeping the change in your pocket, then go sit in your Tesla and drive it to the store to buy a new Louis Vuitton bag for your collection. And then go out and tell everyone you know how great a person you are because you gave a homeless guy a hot dog and you are doing *ALL YOU CAN* to help homeless people.
It's obviously about votes, nothing more.
Danmarks donation is 178,287,000,000 hryvnia, so far, and we are a country of 6 million people. We tried to be occupied so many times by Germans, Napoleon, England and Spain and of course Sweden, that we know how you feel violated by the Russians. I guess that is why Ukraine has a huge support from Denmark.

Denmark is in top-5 regarding military aid to Ukraine in % of the GDP along with Norway, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, while it will probably be a surprise that neither the USA or the UK are even in top-25. If we look at the actual $$ figures in total, and not looking at GDP or the size of population, then Denmark is still the 5th biggest donor of military aid to Ukraine, right behind Norway and with the UK being 3rd, Germany 2nd, and the USA being the biggest donor

A good king to mention would be Valdemar Atterdag who was king from 1340-1375.
He reunited Denmark after the kingless period and led it through the black death. His only son Christoffer fell during the fight with the Hanseatic League but his daughter Margrethe became queen regent of the Kalmar Union of Scandinavia.
His last name meant "days to remember" but can also be translated to "a new day will come".
My thoughts goes to Ukraine in your present struggle for independence. You will win and there will be a new day
Atterdag means "another day". The legend goes that Valdemar fought the countless wars against the germans and their control of Denmark through the Hansa Confederation and Holstein lords, was so Denmark could have "another day"
The history of Denmark csn basically be narrowed down to a long struggle against German dominance. Just like Ukraine against Russia.

Hello from Aarhus, Denmark 🇩🇰 interesting to see, that Hans Christian Andersen (not Anderson) and LEGO has made such a large impact on people's impression of the country. Yes, we are in on artillery anf infantry, as well as training F16 pilots and donating planes from Skrydstrup. Weather can be cold and wet during most of the years (right now, plenty of snow, ice and water around), so best chances of getting a good visit here would probably be around July-August. But even there, it can get windy and wet.
As the summers are now either you are visiting while we have a heat wave or while we have so much rain it feels like fall. There’s like no in between anymore😂

Actually new genome research indicate that Danes come from Ukraine, or at least that area of the world, closing the misunderstanding that we go back to the stone age people here.
Denmark when looking at aid VS GDP do well for sure in top 10 maybe top 5.
But of course it is a very small country with just 6 million people, and believe it or not the country actually have its own serious problems.
I have been to Ukraine, Odesa, but back then the place was still named the Soviet union for a few more weeks / months ( Late August 1991 )

I think Denmark are top 3 military aid compared to gdp right? and the first to promise both leopards and f-16 or do I remember wrong!? along with baltics and Norway they do way more per gdp than any of the big ones like us, UK and Germany.

A bit dissappointing that you didn't give these Ukrainian people at least a few real and recent numbers of how much military aid Denmark actually provides to Ukraine.
It has no significance in the help we make. The average time for the equipment before being destroyed by the Russians is less than 1 week.

Idk maybe because for a long time we have followed the news about whats going on in Ukraine and its frequently emotional. Because this attack is so outrageous, and because ukrainian people are so strong. I have a lot of admiration for the way ukrainian people handle the situation. Stay strong, Ukraine!
