@@TutahnAmon , In my younger days here in America I was never afraid to speak my mind against injustice. Slightly before my time, millions of people protested against the Vietnam war, and before that there was the civil rights era protests, where people were beaten, jailed and sometimes killed for advocating for justice. Every new generation of young people here in America is almost hardwired to question, or perhaps reject, the way things were done in the past and the way things are now,, and to speak out for themselves. Surely this isn't just a hallmark of youth in America, but of youth everywhere ? I get that, after living for decades under repression, old people in Russia might finally consider themselves able or even dutybound to speak freely because at this point they have little left to lose and are thinking about their legacy, but are young people in Russia that much more conservative than they are here in the US or Europe, that much more afraid to speak out and challenge the established order, the power structure of the government? Or are they being seduced by internet influencers and pitchmen and the prospect of "happiness" in the form of shiny baubles being delivered to them via more capitalism?
And behind this guy is a main building of FSB (Federal Security Service, ex-KGB) on Lubyanka square. West still thinks there is no freedom of conscience and freedom of speech in Russia... 🙃

My eyes fell on this comment by accident and I noticed my little smile because of context and.. because of your name. "Love Hina" was one of my first tv-series many-many years ago, the story that still calling my internal dreamy sadness or hope's sadness, the story about a dream of blissful life-path (and about desire to study in university because of unknown love and a promise from the past). It had beautiful and gentle soundtrack. I didn't remembered this for years until this comment (and until "Dima Yatsenko - Возвращение" composition few days ago). Передаю тёплый и добрый привет из России.
I couldn't agree more with you. In a context where it would be easy to get washed away by the MSM and hate everything Russian, this channel and these videos help us understand that the vast majority of people in Russia are decent people who just want to get on with their lives and coexist peacefully with the rest of the world.

I am not Russian and i have extensively traveled the world. For me Russia always feels like home. The people, the culture, the weather, the music, the literature, the food. Miss you Russia.
As a Canadian who has visited Russia, I would say that Russia is at the top of my list. Russians are very interesting people. There are lots of cultures, lots of history, and lots of beautiful landscapes. I do not like Russian politics. Politicians are the ones who ruin the positivity of a country. Some worse than others.
In general, any politcs is a very dirty buisness. It is necessary to separate ordinary people and politicians. In any country. Greetings from Russia with best wishes.
I agree. I am also Canadian and have travelled to Russia. It’s a beautiful country with great people. Of course I also dislike their politics and I am firmly against the war in Ukraine, but as far as the ordinary Russian people go, I really enjoyed my time there.
As a Swede I was fairly surprised to see the high represententation of Nordic countries and Japan. However I'm sorry to report that the feeling probably isn't reciprocated in the Nordic countries. I wish all the best for Russia and its people and I hope relations with the west will get better soon.
Me also but that will largely depend on what happens to Putin. If he stays President, the poor Russian people will remain isolated from the global community. Amazing that 1 man can destroy so much.
@@gustavofring5362 Well I'm not saying there isn't widespread support for Putin in Russia, just that the 83% figure is extremely unreliable. Approval ratings and other statistics can never be fully trusted when the people being asked risk repercussions. For example, according to the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, about 99,5% of Iranians are Shia muslims. However when GAMAAN conducted their own poll on the internet where responders could answer completely anonymously, the figure they got was 37%. Now I can't be certain which figure is closer to the truth but I have seen numerous Iranians on the internet saying the 37% figure is most definitely accurate and that most people there don't even like Islam. I don't know how Levada Center conducted their polls but if it was done over the phone, door-to-door or by asking people on the street, I'm actually surprised their figure isn't higher than 83%

I think the good thing about NZ - is you get a passport - you are now a Kiwi - Every immigrant wants to fit in - there is no little Russia, Korea , Turkey enclaves where they solely speak own language and don't learn English - - you can enjoy your home culture as well and continue speaking Russian , Tongan , display your flag/culture -Sure we have some silly small minded people , Like all immigrants in most countries you will have the odd day - you feel you don't belong - but as I said once you have the passport you are a Kiwi - Plus if your country you come from allows it you can have dual or even triple nationality . The other advantage of having a Kiwi passport is when you travel - no one dislikes you for your country - which is true of many other countries - However no matter you nationality if you travel with a good heart , you will have few problems - I met very nice people in Russia when travelled their in 94 and 97 - so sad what is happening at moment - Eventually things will change - and Russian Society as a collective will mature and that's a win win for everyone - We in NZ had not exactly a great colonial past - suppression of Maori Culture, Overt racism to Chinese immigrants etc - intolerance to people who were different or just paternalistic smugness that came from settlers from the Old World

If the second person *singular* pronoun thou (and thee) had remained in colloquial use in modern standard englishes instead of becoming archaic then I believe we Kiwis would be thouing each other constantly no matter who with no offense taken because we really do not have any social betters here to have to you at. I was in Norway. The local climate seemed very pleasant to me. It was summer and it was not hot, but quite fresh and pleasant. And I just don't like the heat. Oslo turned out to be a small cozy city. Very few cars. Many people ride bicycles. Almost no tall buildings. From the roof of the ten-story hostel where I stayed, I could see the entire city. A big contrast compared to Moscow. But this is not surprising. There are twice as many people in Moscow as in the whole of Norway. There is also a very beautiful memorial cemetery in the city. And people walk there like in a park. And a very clean mountain river with very cold water flows through the city. There are also a lot of beautiful graffiti in the city and people with tattoos are often found. And the Norwegians have very beautiful wheat-colored hair.

I've been to 27 countries around the world. I've seen about 300 cities. I lived abroad, though not for long. My personal conclusion is that there is not a single perfect state or city. This is my subjective opinion. And at the same time, each country, each place is interesting in its own way. Only by seeing countries with your own eyes, communicating personally with people of another culture, do you realize that people are the same everywhere. Yes, there are cultural differences, but everyone wants love, family health, good friends, security. And one more conclusion - the country in which you grew up, where the graves of your ancestors are your inner strength. As in Russian fairy tales - the strength of the heroic in a handful of native land.

Coming from this movie/documentary (with Donald Sutherland ua-cam.com/video/V_Agr2SOaM8/v-deo.html at 59:31) life was kind of dangerous for psychologists in the USSR because everybody was supposedly happy, living in a communist country. So I guess, psychology today is still underdeveloped in the former soviet countries. But maybe someone from a former soviet country comments on it? How was psychology taught and practised back then and today?
I'm from the former Soviet Union too, and my country has a very high rate of suicide, doctors prescribe xanax for everything and we drink a lot too. That's why I'm curious, and also because in previous videos people did touch this topic, but only briefly.
As a medical student, I have learned one truth that the concept of a "healthy person" is not achievable in absolute terms. In our country, many people are afraid of psychologists and psychiatrists, even other medical workers, because there is a fear of running into a layman, a charlatan or getting registered or getting a bad stamp in documents. It is not doubtful whether those who want to receive paid assistance and there are quite a few of them. I believe that every second person on earth has some kind of psychic phenomenon.

in Russia you need to be old to speak your mind freely, all other people are scared, its so sad
However when GAMAAN conducted their own poll on the internet where responders could answer completely anonymously, the figure they got was 37%. I don't know how Levada Center conducted their polls but if it was done over the phone, door-to-door or by asking people on the street, I'm actually surprised their figure isn't higher than 83%

But you can see the ones who have been here a little longer: They greet you back with gusto, they smile back at you and I think they realise this is *a* reason why they moved down here. And they are welcome here. Everyone's the same here. We use first names and have ditched honourifics. If the second person *singular* pronoun thou (and thee) had remained in colloquial use in modern standard englishes instead of becoming archaic then I believe we Kiwis would be thouing each other constantly no matter who with no offense taken because we really do not have any social betters here to have to you at.
We are so lucky to live here in Godzone yet I think a lot of Kiwis might not realise this until they go travelling on their OEs. 💙

Even there is a very bad situation in Russia right now, would love to visit come day. Love from Italy 🇮🇹
А у нас много людей которые хотят посетить Италию, и я в том числе, у вас хотя бы климат нормальный
Well, all of them look so wholesome. I happy to videos like this humanizes the Russian in these turbulent times.
Wow, you've been working hard, great video as always!
I'd be interested in people talking about mental health, such as depression or anxiety, and how common it is to get medication or therapy for it. Is it easy to get help, or did covid and the sanctions affect it somehow? Is it normal to talk about these things or do people feel that they have to pretend that everything is fine?
Do not confuse us with gentle Europeans who run to a psychologist because of any minor problems =) we do not take it ... drank a bottle of vodka with your best friend and told him about your concerns, he supported you and all the problem is solved =)

A pleasant surprise to actually hear my home country (Germany).
I know a lot of people in Russia who learn german and love your country. German is one of the most popular languages here. We also have a few german villages. People with german ancestry live in them and still speak german.
Why so surprised... what an amazing country you have... just absolutely loved my visit (summer 2018) with my whole family @Ernst. And the people were really friendly to us all in every occasion. Those Moselle wineyards and old places are just delightful...
@@ssc00p Well, we had a were troubled past. But it is very common in Germany to not love the own country, so it is suprising people not from Germany do the opposite.
im from poland and i really would like to visit Russia someday . i have many friends from there and i love the vibes
I'm so intrigued by your channel. It's nice to see Russian people and their thoughts.
Let’s appreciate how brave that guy is (3:42),saying that he loves Ukraine, in front of the FSB headquarters in Lubyanka
У нас никому не запрещают любить Украину. Даже возле здания ФСБ.

The most comforting and warm reply was 'Russia' Why? 'Because it is my Homeland.' I am an Englishman and I love this country with a passion. It is in my DNA, my blood, my ancestors. So, that young man who answered 'Russia' I can equate to.
All great answers. I wish I could travel to most of them. I've only been to a few countries in North and South America and the Caribbean. Can't complain, though. No one else in my family has been out of the country since WWII.
Glad you have gone out. Always good to expand your horizons :)
Don't forget that flying to any country in Europe from Moscow is mainly faster that from the east coast to the west coast. Just take a look at the map of Europe. In terms of Japan and Australia - some of the responders said they've never been there. Americans, in general, do not travel much abroad, except some retiries and high income people. My observation. To begin with, we don't have a 4-5 week vacation every year. Plus a lot of people prefer not to take vacation time - they want money to pay their bills.
Caribbean is part of south america too. They speak the same language, follow the same religion and share same history of Spanish colonialism
@@coldplayfan7357 "The islands of the Caribbean (the West Indies) are often regarded as a subregion of North America". Wikipedia and other resources.
As I understand, J. Phillips meant the islands, not some countries in South America that are considered also being "Caribbean" in heritage
I walked out of the border of my country and when I saw people speaking a tongue I cannot comprehend I couldn't take it , truly the russians in the video are speaking the truth no matter how unforgiving your homeland is you will have that feeling of coming back even if you can speak their language.
