Oh my! THis is so true! I changed diet eight yrs ago! Rid the house of 99% processed foods! Went basically whole foods, plant based. No seed oils, no sugars, breads, flours. No calorie counting, consumed huge amount of nuts, seeds, greens, sauerkraut , a wide variety of veggies (cruciferous veggies)
      etc. Limited fruits
…mostly blueberries. ……cravings/binge eating are gone….. fibromyalgia GONE! I eat lots of real butter, whole fat yogurt, grass fed whole milk. As Dr Chatterjee said. “ If processed foods are in the house……I will eat it!!” Don’t buy it! I quickly dropped 50 lbs. and all meds w exception of Thyroid med. Now eight yrs later, age 90……i have an occasional ice cream or a dinner out but in moderation. This is not a struggle…..with in a few days to few weeks, your body will respond in a positive way. Craving are gone!♥️ Try for 4 weeks!

I have stage 4 TNBC and when I was diagnosed I drastically changed my eating habits. Now I do 1 meal a day, no carbs, no processed foods, no sugar, no alcohol, no sodas...and the list goes on. I only eat healthy vegetables, nuts, eggs....tea, coffee and water. Every now and then i eat beef or chicken.
The doctors are stunned....I'm clear, they made me do 2 PET scans and an MRI because they refused to believe the cancer is gone. I also drink graviola tea with cinnamon stick and cloves and I chew on 2 cloves daily. And of course i take vitD (4,000iu) with K2 and Black seed oil (2 tsp a day). I feel so good! I am fine!

Sugar free? But do you know that all carbs turn to glucose in the body? That's all the bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, legumes, lentils, oats, cereals etc. If you're eating all those, then you're eating sugar. Your body doesn't care how your glucose started life as. And what about the sugar in fruit? The fructose? What they tell us to eat is not necessarily truly good for us. All the research nowadays is funded by those who are heavily invested in selling us food and medicine.

I have stage 4 ovarian cancer and so far 12 rounds of chemo. My days would began with bread, baked beans, cereals etc and I would just go back to sleep most hours of the day cos I was just tired. I wasn't feeding my cells their blueprint but then I changed the beginning of my days with eating whole foods. For three months now I start my days of with baked sweet potatoes, yams, Steamed greens and two eggs, fruits. As long as I gave my body that startup in the morning and during the day I would eat brown rice or peanut butter wheat sandwhichs. I and everyone around me saw a drastic change. I had energy, I was cooking, sweeping and mopping the house, my muscles grew and I put on 7kg and my oncologist says I'm doing well for a stage 4 person. Another thing too is my accites. From being drained 8 litres of abdominal fluid every 3 weeks to now only 400ml every two weeks.

The house is full of vegetables, grass fed meat, fish and salads. When the crap is not in the cardboard / larder you cant eat it. Our of sight out of mind. Unfortunately too many people eat processed carbs from a young age & grow up not knowing any better, as well as not being that active. As I did, although I was an active child as sports was encouraged luckily, plus my Dad loved his Coca Cola, & I grew up drinking sugary squashes as well. I am paying for it now, as a type 2 diabetic, but doing my best to rectify my poor eating habits & now only mostly unprocessed foods - unfortunately even unprocessed carbs, like potatoes, brown rice, sourdough bread, oats etc spike my blood sugars badly. Maybe I will get to a point when I am exercising more, I will eat some healthy unprocessed carbs again.

Thank you! And my journey started just 2 years ago. I don’t think I have to tell anything more other than I had a BLOOD GLUCOSE of 383 and A1C 8.3. And 1 year later A1C 5.5 and constant glucose of 88 and NO MEDICATION. Yes I lost some weight but my waist has dropped 5 size with only 30 lbs. so once again this information is REAL. Dr Rangan . I am a big believer of clean diet. Another strategy that I use is if I have a craving I might buy a mango or have beautiful prawns for lunch. I don't deny myself quality unprocessed foods . This does not mean I live lux food life but if I feel myself weaken I eat cherrys etc . Taste bomb with super products

For your morning drink, try substituting Bone broth (chicken) in the morning instead of coffee with cream. Boil your own chicken, save the liquid in a jar, add an additional quart to it, add some pink salt, maybe some herbs such as bay leaf, ginger, or basil and drink a 12 oz cup of broth. Tastes good. Doesn't elevate your sugars. Try adding chopped cabbage into this for lunch.

For me, being vegan and not eating things like cookies, even vegan natural ones , and not eating non nutritional food in general. I make sure there's some major nutrients in everything I eat. I use to eat close to three thousand calories per day without getting fat, but at about 63 or 64 i couldn't do that anymore and stay slim. So keeping everything I eat super nutritious helps a lot and I feel great.

Such an informative episode Doctor. The absolute truth about CGM's.
I’m using a continuous glucose monitor myself, and it’s been such a great tool-it’s truly life-changing!
Seeing how my glucose operates in real time is absolutely mind-blowing! It’s such an eye-opener especially since my husband recently learned he was diabetic. Such an incredible way to stay on top of your health.
It also motivated me to switch to a low-carb diet. I never thought I could completely give up rice and flour, but 3 weeks ago, I did and even though I don’t need to lose weight, I am sure it a positive change for my overall health.

Currently I am doing Intermittent Fasting 16:8. 16 hours fasting (6PM - 12PM the next day) then 8 hours feeding time. What I noticed is that I have more energy throughout the day. On feeding time, I eat very high quality unprocessed foods (nuts, avocado, vegetables, fish, fruits for dessert). I hope it will help to heal my fatty liver and anxiety.

This is relatable and understandable for real people. So many of the nutritional experts are eletist. They toss around scientific and medical terms that go right over the heads of people that need to change their diet. Often times they ask us to use organic foods, grass fed beef, pastured eggs, etc. we may be able to afford some of these items and feel guilty when we can’t. I read or followed a half dozen experts and finally decided to cut out sugar, refined grains and ultra processed foods plus intermittent fasting and then work to use more nutrient dense foods. It’s working.

Thank you for sharing this information. It’s good to know that doctors are beginning to transfer awareness of the big picture they see across many patients. I’m old enough to remember when doctors didn’t start appointments with ‘what seems to be the problem?’ Followed by a prescription for medication 💊 all done and dusted like the processed fast foods we are eating, we are processed as fast as possible with a pat on the head and a few pills. We need a more holistic approach like doctors of old, who opened appointments with a conversation about what’s going on in your life to establish that the stomach pain presented is the bodies response to say dietary or other catalysts for the problem. Thanks again please keep making this kind of content 🙏

Over the past 20 years most likely even longer I've tried a lot of diets, all of which had a positive outcome but never lasting. What have that works in the past year, removing all seed oils from my diet. A fade that's catching on but one of the best move you can make. Once you head down this road almost every food product known to man is eliminated and all your left with are natural foods. No more fade diets.

Medicine should take personalisation into account as each of our fingerprints are different so are each of our bodies. The best thing we can do is look at ourselves and make a little change for the better and this can have a snowball affect. After many years of using bad habits to ease my stress, I turned around my mindset and instead of thinking about things and procrastinating, I just started doing. Going for a walk in the woods. Sunshine on my skin. Little things.
