- Please subscribe to the channel so I can keep bringing you great content! It’s time I share a shock upgrade for the rear of the Honda Acty trucks and vans. These same shocks are hundreds of dollars from venders when you can modify and install them yourself for much cheaper.
I’m still working on a solution for the front struts.

Thanks a ton. Had the back axles out to do cv boots and figured I’d upgrade the worn out shocks. Holy hell, what a difference! Wasn’t the easiest getting those beefy bastards in place, but compared to taking the axles out it was a breeze. Thanks again for the vid.
You have any recommendations for ungraded front struts/coilovers? Seems like most of the aftermarket stuff is designed for lowering, which I’m not looking to do.
Nice. Was debating these or Bilstein. Did this have a slight raise after the install?
Yeah I would say it’s slightly elevated. The vid doesn’t do the size of these things justice. When I opened the package I thought “no way in hell these big bastards will fit”.

A question - cost aside, what’s the benefit of installing these as opposed to a stock one? I know it’s larger, but how does that correspond to the ride of the van as compared to a stock replacement?

Unfortunately Honda discontinued the fronts and I haven’t found a solution yet.
@@GhostSpeedShop I'm told Miata front coilovers fit, but of course there's a catch- you cut off the bolt part and slide the body of the cup into the part that goes around the shock. Then mark where the bolt would go through and grind out a path for that bolt. Once you've got that set up mark it off on the top and weld on a strip of metal above to further help prevent them sliding through.
@@DeadLuckArchivesI was told someone tried it, and for whatever reason it wouldn’t work. Have you seen it in person?
I'm having the most difficult time getting the shock in place if the bottom bolt. Even tried jacking the shock up and malleting in place.
Use a pick through the bolt hole on the opposite side of where you are placing the bolt in.

Does this raise or lower it at all? I'm working towards lowering mine, I'll probably remove a single leaf rather than two.
It might raise it slightly at first depending on how much the rear weighs. Maybe .5-1 inch
I want mine raised anyways. Going to find one that has a higher weight rating.

Anything for the front suspension that you recommend?? Need new front suspension
Most people swap to aftermarket springs, but there is no factory replacement front strut option.
There are coilovers options out on the market though, I’ve heard good things about GAZ coilovers.
Will these work on the Honda ACTY trucks? Mine is an HA4
