Woww that's a good one
something tells me this song is not played Live. Its too perfect and to the dot as per the studio recording which is never the case when Knopfler plays. He uses a lot of improvisation and creativity when playing Live.
Yeah it was playback although they mimic the entire song amazingly well. "Aplauso" was a very good Spanish TV show where lots of bands from across the globe performed there most of them playback.

Exactly as per the Album recording, it's mimed (in a nice way though) .. 3:22 here you can tell the lead guitar sound and video don't match haha
Such a shame they were made to do a playback
Something about this performance does not fit, it does not look live......the sounds coming at us do not synch with the actions of the players...there are a few occasions when both guitarists are strumming whilst the soundtrack has a lead guitar line playing simultaneously with the vocals, yet neither guitarist is even attempting to mime the fingerwork
