you should make like a warthog style craft, that has fixed guns, have that be on the base and make it so that you pilot it, so while your base is bombarding them your providing close air support
Hi Lathrix - Person working on localisation for the game here. If you go into the options menu, misc tab and then enable game modification, you'll notice something new on the main menu :P
Note that it's a work in progress, and none of the options are complete yet.

i keep making bricks and things i'm not happy with the thing is i'm better irl at making things i don't know the shape limit confuses me
It looks like the large hull prefabs even have slots for casemates, which is great because I'm terrible at integrating those into my ships.
I've been trying to make a small boat for weeks and havent gotten something I like yet

Was kinda hard for me to do it, i wanted to use mimics all the way like i did for some my other jets, but dev told me not to as newcomers wouldn't know how to use mimics like i did , so i tried my best, i'm super happy that you guys like it ! @@CommanderStormrune that can't be true, a pacifist is mostly centered around avoiding armed conflict. Blowing shit up is just enjoyable if done for the lols
If you have multiple mainframes, you can change the mainframe index in the detection Q menu and have multiple averaging times. Just put the intra vehicle transmitter on the mainframe that has the detection settings you want for your plane.

It definitely sounds like spotter vehicles are going to be a thing (and, hell, once they fix missiles, it would make some kind of sense for any spotter vehicle to carry a missile targeting laser, particularly if you can make multiple of them for an arsenal ship/missile carrier to hand off targeting to (and if you can ensure not all missiles get handed off to the same laser)).
Regardless, it seems highly cool things are incoming.

@@Mike-ukr I don't know, but Lathrix mentioned at the start of the video that he'd been warned off missiles by the devs as they are apparently not currently working right
So, when I was screwing around with the AI i allied with the DWG and the DWG just kept on spaming ships and killed the onxy watch in 8 hours

yeah that seams reasonable to me they own the flying squirrel an crams useless against it
If the ai could put drills down and raise itself to 200% fighting power and just obliterate factions by itself that would be hilarious
18:45 I haven't played the game that much, but I imagine you could put the intra-vehicle transmitter on a separate AI that handles detection only for the darts and not the base.

Detection is shared across all AI on the vehicle.
Thanks but the problem is that the bases AI is optimized for slow moving shells, and the dart uses fast firing ones.

You must make sure all shells fired by the good guys have deep red trails so that you know -there- their origin of fire. The good guys don't let the enemy think they're mutinying one another~ that would be cruel.
You should play Space Engineers. It’s an absolutely amazing survival and creating game that would be really cool to see you play. I love your videos and this would make me love them even more to see you play it.

"In battle the seasoned general looks at logistics while the amature general looks at tactics" and yeah I really hope we see some more logistics in FtD perhaps even having the rebuilding of broken blocks in a drydock type thing.
I have an idea for a base. You could make it some sort of mining ship with crams.

The idea of a supply/production ship that sits away from the battle that has armaments that are focused purely on defense against missiles and projectiles and not meant to fight is a pretty cool idea in my opinion as well.
Finally I can watch this without having to download it first and I can leave a comment to support from the depthsssss (long story, but love the game, the reason why I originally subscribed!)

Creator disables ammunition generation. Creator: ha, no more wasting ammo. Lathland: do I care? No! Creators: wait, that’s not meant to happen.
Now you have me wondering, could the fortress have the detection systems (tuned for slow moving targets), feed that data to the Dart, and the Dart using only additional tracking systems (tuned for fast moving targets) ?

There are Inter-vehicle transmitters, I’m not exactly sure what you can do with them, but im pretty sure it allows for a fortress/ship to transmit its detection to other fortress/ships.
it also allows for creative designs like a detection balloon that can send detection information to other vehicles in battle while also staying away from the battle itself
(the balloon will need defense but it most likely won’t be a target if it’s small and has no offensive weapons)

Old Oil processor was in game long ago. I kept mine as a prefab so I could pop it on builds that used more fuel than could be processed and supplied in battle.

Make sure to not rely on mortars, Jacobs folly is his folly for a reason, any small and reasonably sped craft can tear you apart. Also subs exist so watch out for that too

I got this game, idk, 5 months ago. Still haven't figured it out since. Space engineers and other such games apparently come easy to me. but this one still drives me up a wall when I try to make anything.
I've been sticking to the current version but damn the full release looks good. I can't wait!

Prefabs single-handedly revived his game for me, I like designing things, but it takes so long I get bored and stop playing for days.
When in doubt, add more barrels. It can only get better with size!
Use an alt mainframe and detection system by having them transmit and receive on different channels from the main one.
You should definitely make a little ufo shaped detection drone for the planes.

I don’t know if it’s even possible but I think it be really cool if you created some sort of ship-buster cannon that one-shots most medium-small targets. It’d have to be really big and I don’t know if the numbers even make it possible but I think it’d be amazing if you could pull it off.

I don't know anything about this game but I got a suggestion. What about a small sniper craft? That stays as far away as possible from the conflict and fires using a long range and high velocity gun and it looks like a gun that has ballasts and an engine strapped to the sides.
Maybe a rail gun?

You should try using the simple weapons aa guns as budget anti missile defence, they work suprisingly well.
Ammunition processing center... yea il put THAT one behind a few layers of metal... or heavy armor.

You could try using a different detection system on a different AI for the dart.
you can have a secondary IA that just detect the speedy ennemy and transmit the information to the darts
