Few things - I also couldn't get my FtD files from my old computer because well.. I got rid of it before noticing the problem, because I'm just that smart. Secondly 16:10 I mean Bulwark not Bastion, love them both but one is far bigger than the other! I was just drunk on glorious spin block carnage at that point I think!

Edit: Now that I've seen what you made it reminds me of the ship-burrowing things from the Battleship movie. The way it eats through everything is very satisfying.

Also consider adding two AI behaviors, so that it can be safely in the depths when it is far from the enemy, and surfaces when close.

The latrixian ramming vehicles are definitely one of my favorite! There is something so simple yet so satisfying about watching rams devour huge chunks of a ship

One scrub's suggestion: You could set the spinners to go in the other direction, so it will tend to go under ships when it hits, instead of climbing them, if you want. Or you could try to set it to pitch down when above a certain altitude, forcing it to keep contact while climbing over enemy crafts.

Worth noting, because you used the jets, you can keep eating them instead of getting stuck when halfway through your meal! Absolutely lovely planning there

Comment 2: design a fleet and make them seem alive. Maybe harpoons and emp missile but try to make weapons seem biological? Like launching nuke drones.
Make them cloners. I have a long history of making small vehicles that have vehicle spawners on them so they can reproduce.

Could you (in theory) add airbrakes that flip open when maybe 10m from the target to almost instantly slow down and get to the actual ramming speed?

I'm actually super curious to see how this fares against some of the White Flayers rip-and-tear melee ships. Pre-campaign hype! Very impressed with your build, even if it's simpler than you usually go for-- or maybe because it's so simplistic.

You can actually now set ACBs to affect a specific block (or set of blocks) by having them filter by the block's name.
This, combined with the block renaming tool, not only makes it easier to keep track of your ACBs, but it also allows them to be placed anywhere on the craft without having to worry about them controlling anything they're not supposed to.

I want to see any campaign with this thing in it. I can't wait to see it tunnel through some more ships. Definitely need a super-fast flying version though because that would look hilarious to see it run down some airplanes and rip them to shreds

Oh I love it! It'er derpy in ways so menacing! I think you should name it something like "The Leech", a bloodsucker creature of some kind. I think you should let it stay with the "climbing" shenanigans if they happen (though I wonder if reversing the direction of the spin blocks will change that at all...), but definitely make it have a secondary movement system for closing the gap within those 50 or so meters you've set as its range to turn around at.
I can't wait to see this boi work in the campaign videos

This reminds me of the concept from Dune, where in Shield Fighting you have to move the blade slowly so the shield doesn't register it as a threat.

Seeing this thing nom on ships is strangely cathartic
Just a thought: if bouncing becomes a problem with some targets, I suggest reversing the spin blocks so it’s more likely to bounce downward. That way, if it bounces, it’s more likely to go underwater, where it’s less vulnerable, rather than above water and right in front of enemy guns.
Edit: I would also just love to see this a high-speed dive-bomber. Except without bombs. It just dives onto ships at high speeds and shoves them underwater.

as a secondary movement mode, you could make it fly when the target is further then 500 meters. the steamvents also work in air and it would be a good clip faster.

This ship, especially in "MY PLANET NEEDS ME!" mode 10:52 , really reminds me of a Langolier. It's too bad we can't give the front weapon a chomping sound effect.
Spinny Spin Wheel of Death.
Also, I think it’s climbing because it’s not always instantly destroying all the blocks, or they contact a part of the ram that’s behind the damage area (if that’s even how they work) and because the wheel is spinning down in the front, it rolls up. If you reverse the direction of the ram wheel, it would instead push down some, and not climb. It might go under, but that’s probably more even and easier to decimate from below than the ship is from above, especially considering critical systems are usually put belowdeck for safety.
@ Lathland, if you put a spin block/turret on top of another it will be able to clip through your whole vessel, I use this to make ships that have a completely sealed hull and hide turrets inside which only the tips of the barrels reach outside when im feeling cheaty XD
This ship turned out to be far more effective than I thought it would be :))
