Ronnie absolutely killed this. This dude is so magically talented it’s ridiculous. The lyrics in this version are so much deeper. Also, at the end of the video, he’s reversing what he did at the end of Watch The World Burn. The world is literally Falling In Reverse. This song has been in repeat all day. The piano matched with Ronnie’s singing and vocals are incredible together. We need a whole album like this.
this song is the modern day equivalent to Jonny Cash’s Hurt. They brought a change of emotion and each really made the song his own while still maintaining a strong connection to the original
I think we should build our lives without pain and madness. Otherwise we will start destroying ourselves and others. And it is always hard to live without love and mutual understanding..
There's a deeper meaning as to why I listen to metal. Songs like Snuff, The Drug in Me (Reimagined), and now this... This version will find its way to someone who needs it. Ronnie will help people who are struggling with this reimagining. It's powerful, beautiful, and chilling. A new favorite from Mr. Radke.
I think both the original and this version is a perfect representation of where many of us were at the time. Young and rageful, time passes and it's as if lamenting is all that remains.
I really wish i could listen to this without breaking down. The emotion in his vocals are insane. Also, notice at the end of the video. The world is "Unburnt" from his last video...
Was surprised by it last night and honestly the way Ronnie carries the lyrics through his voice it helps amplify the way they hit you, the pure emotion and range that this man uses with these reimagined versions is unbelievable and one of the many reasons that’s his one of my favourite artists
Ronnie really nailed this, the lyrics are really heartbreaking and listening to papa roaches version is very hyped. Love both versions but ronnie really nailed the tone. Disturbed did that with the sound of silence, both Paul and Art praised David for his interpretation of their song. Love your in depth analysis of different songs.
I don't know if you noticed, but at the end he started repairing all the damage he did in, "Watch the World Burn." Taken from that perspective, the song is more of a triumphant ending to the story rather than a sad one.
I never really listened to the words of Papa Roach’s version. This version gives me 2 different views of the song and different ways it’s felt. I love it
So this is a follow up to Watch the Would Burn. An Epic reimagining of the original. The message of following the previous song with this has yet to be fully revealed. Again the genius of Ronnie is being uncovered over time. Thanks for the early reaction to this content.
You're stunningly beautiful inside and out! The way you connect with music is SOOOOOOO relatable! Music is my life. I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I love to belt out the songs regardless lol!! But I totally agree. This song absolutely hits different in this form. Like, I grew up jamming out to this song smiling and rocking out...and now, being older, I dissect the lyrics more, and feel the struggles that the artist was feeling when he wrote it, having been through many of those same struggles myself...and it ABSOLUTELY carries a different meaning and hits different now! ♥
This is the first video of yours that I have watched. Your raw emotions pulled me right in. I could see the moment where the lyrics hit you so hard. You closed your eyes and when you open them I could see you were almost ready to start crying. The song did the same thing to me the first time I heard it. Can't tell you how many times I've heard last resort, memorized and sung the lyrics. But once they're slowed down they have a complete different meaning. I felt it too
In Papa Roach's version there was agressiveness and probably some hate to all around. But in Ronnie's version there is tiredness and pain. So I would say there are two songs snd two moods. And they are totally different
The way you summed it up at the end was perfect I couldn’t have said it better myself. The song is a beautiful cover and the way Ronnie pays tribute to the original version just shows how great of a guy he really is.
Like i said about this song...... Papa Roach's songnis when you were young, tough and got back up and fought. F.I.R.'s version is when you are grown up, suffer from thenbeatings you took in life and deciding if you want to get up while you are still on the ground. Ive been knock down soooo many times, i lost my mom, Rose Hayes, in 1987. I lost my oldest son, Joshua Rico, in 2018. I lost my only true younger sister, Rolanda Rico, in 2022. I battled alcoholism from 1976 to 2007, now im free from the liquid for 16 years plus. Life was never easy. just get up people. Stay strong. Keep the faith. Your life matters. Someone does love you. Stay bless everyone 🙏 ❤ ❤
This song used to be my go to for the gym. It would just get me fired up!! Ronnie's version is just beautifully done it gave me goosebumps throughout half of the song. I LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!! I'm adding that to my playlist...
The song is about Jacobys battle with depression. The band thought it was a bit much at first until Jacoby basically said he needed this and they backed him 100%.
From watching so many reaction videos, I love watching people’s faces change from the lines ‘if I took my life tonight-‘ onwards, coz even though we know the original, it’s like all of a sudden we are properly hearing and feeling those lyrics for the first time.
It’s like in the very beginning, the world is upside down, and everything is falling apart around you, and you feel like everything is coming to an end, and this song was made the way it was meant to be made by Ronnie to show everybody at the very end of the song that your world is not falling apart it’s coming together incredible.
Somewhere on UA-cam you will find Ronnie givng Jacobe (lead singer for Papa Roach) a first listen to the track before the release of it. He loved it and gave his blessing for it. The secret with Ronnie on these songs, he does not just sing these, he FEELS these, he puts in such raw emotion into all of his music (at least since Popular Monster). Its obvious (to me at least) that he pours his heart and soul into his music. When people started commenting on all his tatoo's he covered them all with black ink, so people would focus on the music, not the tats. This is a true Artist at work. He does not make it about him, he makes it all about the music. Gotta love this man for his passion.
This is absolutely haunting…. It feels to me similar to Disturbed Sound of Silence and Johnny Cash Hurt. These covers really allowed the lyrics to tell their heartbreaking stories how they really wanted to be heard.
Ronnie es el único cantante que por obligación luego de escuchar la sus temas, tengo que buscar reacciones y sentir que hay mas gente como yo que se conmueve y le mueve este tipo de interpretaciones.
Saw your videos first time now and this was the best reaction video I've ever seen. You went really deep in the song and just watching your emotions made me cut onions. Song was simply amazing but you gave the extra spice for it. Very welldone!
Es como lo que leí en un comentario por ahí… Estábamos muy ocupados rockeando con la canción original, que no sentíamos el peso que tiene la letra hasta que llegó esta canción…
Many reactions point out the effect of the lyrics hitting home for the first time with this reimagined version. This version is really anempathetic - it's a mismatch of the music and subject matter, like in a movie where they play a happy tune when a character dies at the end. We've stepped the key up a half step and really lean into the F minor pop-like chord progression which gives us something that sounds happy and victorious but the song is all about sorrow and loss and the dissonance is highlighted really well.
I love that this song was iconic even though he talks about crying and not feeling strong. It's super 90s pop punk that it became popular even though being a man in the 90s for most people meant not showing emotion they still sing along. I was probably too young be also singing along as well but the negative lyrics weren't impacting me I didn't really think too hard about what they meant it was just a cool song. That riff is fast because it's representing a chaotic or panic and it's resembling like an elevated heart rate or brain going a mile a minute when your trying to calm down. When he talks about Loosing sight he probably is talking Loosing hope. Being in a hopeless place where you don't believe things will be okay or ever get better is a terrifying place to be. This song shows anyone who goes through that they can survive it other people other have dealt with / are dealing with this. It's manageable. People have found a way to live with this. I can do that too. If you can't believe it yourself sometimes you need that something that can bring the believe to you and maybe this knowledge that you aren't alone in the struggle people can get through this and you can be one of those stories.
I'm kinda jelly you can giggle through this video. I have seen just about every reaction and haven't been able to not get teary or cry for 1 of them. I'm way too shy to have the world react to my 40-year-old ass breakdown. Great job reacting!
The melody "I can't go on living this way" was actually sang by Jacoby himself! Ronnie wanted to have a bit of Jacoby in this song and it fits in so well.
A. I love your reactions. B. I felt this just as much as you did. As a Ronnie fan since ETF and knowing his hardships, you know that no one else could've covered the song better than Ronnie. C. The chord progressions and little flairs that Ronnie throws in... unmatched. Drills right into the soul.
And if you look at the end of the music video, it's reversing / going back in time to all the destruction it caused in Watch the World Burn. The scenario takes place after the event of that music video.
I must say that usually I feel like you are a little goofy and not taking things really but you made me feel very emotional through your reactions. Thank you for that
The thing I love most about having this version and the original version is they hit with the two different emotions I feel when I’m struggling with my mental health.. in my mind the original lends itself to the anger and frustration when you don’t know what to do whereas this lends itself more to the sadness and desperation of feeling like the world is crumbling around you
This song makes me want to hear a super hard "My Immortal". I like remakes that are totally different. I know she has a full band version but thats not what I mean.
This version definitely hits different than the OG. Took it from the anger aspect of that mind state, to the depression side of it. Looking forward to your reaction
In the ending of the video for Watch The World burn, you see the flames consume the planet at the end. Then in this song, the buildings were being put back together and the flames were receding at the end of this one! Like the world was Saved after being destroyed. The original is good, but as you said the lyrics are the focal point and hit soooo much harder!
i think the word you were looking for is Hauntingly beautiful... at least thats how i hear it for ronnies voice on alot of his reimagined songs. masterpiece
Very good job with your reaction and thoughts on the new reimagined version of" Last Resort" From( Pappa Roach) done here from Ronnie . Love seeing your full range of emotions through out the video Rachel.
Usually, the reaction format on youtube is very generic and kind of easy to make, with people that just see things and do not add any value to the content. But you do really add value to it, you try to understand the things you react to, you give us your thoughts and It's very interesting to see your perspective. It's also really nice to see people like you get to experience for the first time things that I enjoy. Keep it up!
Papa Roach and Falling in Reverse went on tour together last year with special guests Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves! They called it the Rockzilla Summer Tour, and it was one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen!
I saw someone say Papa Roach version we were angry teenagers, and Ronnie's version we're broken adults. And that was the best description I'd read.
Perfect description for this song!!

So true
2Bough says the same
This version really takes the lyrics and turns them into something that holds so much weight.
Ronnie can take these "reimaginations" really to another level... emotional... beautiful... devastating... all at the same time...
"Devastating" is such an accurate word for this song, well said 👍👍👍
Ronnie’s passion and emotion in this song is incredible! This is an absolute MASTERPIECE!! 😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Ronnie absolutely killed this. This dude is so magically talented it’s ridiculous. The lyrics in this version are so much deeper. Ronnie is probably one of, possibly the best, at portraying pain through his voice.
His version brings a hole new feeling to the song. Even Jacoby got so excited over this version

i love it that they constantly reference their other music videos, like that very last shot
i wondered how they would top "ending the world". But they didn't. The cleared it and made a fresh start possiple. I liked that :D
Feels like the opposite of watch the world burn
The line "contemplating suicide" reminds me CHESTER BENNINGTON 💔💔💔😭😭
Besides the amazing voice of Ronnie, the musical score in this video really brings the emotion of the lyrics forward. Ronnie never misses!
Radke.
His voice is….incredible….and his screaming is so raw and emotional, and so under rated 🖤🖤🖤
I noticed that too.
The giggles you gave, cracked me up. Shows you're feeling the song right at the precise moments.
Ronnie killed that! He made those lyrics hit different. 💯

I just absolutely love your energy even for a tragically depressing song. I would honestly give anything to be your best friend
This is a super interesting reaction. You get almost giddy listening to his talent and then get pulled into the pain and sadness of the song.
After several reactions, you're the first to mention the hope at the end... thank you.

Ronnie's voice is incredible but the best part of this video is your adorable facial expressions as the song is playing. So cute.
