      I always thought both cars were reliable, especially the Lexus. BMW use to be reliable, what happened, is it that they make them in the USA? Lexus will be reliable and comfortable, but the BMW will be more hair raising fun. I use to think the Lexus would be my next GT car until I saw the BMW 850I . I may get one eventually.

      Victor Kenarsy people want to drive their cars. Its not just about money. The amount of time the BMW will spend on the road is way less than how long the lexus will spend by a whopping margin

    • @audreyzondo9070
      @audreyzondo9070 5 років тому

      @@ha_ha-ha_ha I have to kinda agree with him. Not just anyone affords these cars. People who can afford a Porsche don't care about maintaining one. I've seen forums where people talk about the craziest expenses, they complain about 400 bucks for a Ferrari oil change but never sell their cars

    • @ha_ha-ha_ha
      @ha_ha-ha_ha 5 років тому +18

      Audrey Zondo cus they barely drive them. A Lexus is meant to be driven to the maximum. You see, Lexus has solved the issue. You can buy a luxury car and still be able to afford owning it. A luxury car doesn’t have to be expensive to own and be driven so little for it to actually be luxurious. It can also be high quality, which is what it should be when buying an expensive item. When buying a rolex, it can last 15-20 years while a significantly lesser brand will last way less. When buying a particular brand of shoes, it will last way more than some chinese knock off. Why its different with cars? Because like you are all saying, most people don’t care about driving their luxury cars or saving money on them. Yet Lexus is still the highest quality luxury car manufacturer and defies the odds in the car business. Actually, I don’t know why I’m complaining. Lexus already exists. Let the other german cars be for the people who don’t care about their money. However, it still doesn’t make it right. It is always the rule that whenever you pay more, it is because the construction of the thing is much more high quality so that it lasts long. Only Lexus follows that rule. Actually most of the german car manufacturers back in the day used to make very reliable luxury cars. But now they learnt that their customers really don’t care about the cars and so they started cutting costs and cheaply building the cars.

      @footballcoreano you're like a broken record. You're using a certain world leaders tactics, keep repeating the lie until people start believing.
      A friend of mine bought a 3 year old 7 series, I warned him to get a good warranty and be prepared to spend on maintenance. I was right, he got tired of the shop time and traded it in less than a year.
      I've owned BMWs, M3, M5 and 850 first generation. The M3 was expensive for parts and service (original M3) so was the M5. When I told my mechanic I was going to buy a 850, he said if I thought the M3 was expensive to maintain, wait tell I get the 850. He was right. I like BMWs, but they are not what they use to be reliability wise.

      gayane karapetyan , I’ve had both BMW’s and Lexus’. I have a 650i Convertible, and I love it. I love it except for all the money I have to put into the car to keep it top notch!! As a matter of fact I dropped it off at the shop this morning because my iDrive, for some reason, has completely went out! Every once in a while it pops back on and will work completely perfect until I shut down the car (when I restart the car it will not come back on). Also, for some unknown reason, a couple of weeks ago I went to start the BMW and when I pushed the start/stop engine button nothing happened! (It isn’t the battery, it’s brand new). After retrying multiple times it finally started as if nothing happened! After that it happened one more time the very next week and hasn’t happened since! I am frequently taking it to the repair shop, and I’m tired, I give up, I’ve decided to let it go. As for Lexus’, I’ve had one about 10 years ago and that car never gave me an incline of trouble! The only thing I’ve ever taken it to the repair shop for, OIL CHANGES and INSPECTION, that’s it, nothing more. It was an absolute pleasure to own. Toyota/Lexus are very reliable. It hurts me to admit, but BMW, too many headaches. And they make your bank account shrink too........

    Between the two, I'd go Lexus all day. The BMW is nice, but even if it has the performance edge, I'd rather choose a different BMW, like an M4 (or for M850i money, a very low mileage M4 GTS, $+30K to spare... or for maintenance).
    While I like something like the Lexus RC F, I don't necessarily want one more than an LC500. Plus I'd be more confident in Lexus' reliability, and especially for a naturally aspirated car.

    I decided to buy the lc500 instead of the 850 because I wanted something that was showy enough for the price. The bmw looks like any other bmw, just larger and more aggressive . Someone can EASILY mistaken it for any other model if they aren’t car people. Driving experience was definitely better on the bmw because the mid band for lc500 is lazy but pushing them both on the track the Lc was better. More emotional connection due to the sound.
    Both are good dailies though, comfortable and great for going to meet clients

    One thing with Beamer is that all of them look the same and to me they look nothing special. That’s coming off from a BMW owner myself. I’ve driven both of the vehicle but end up picking up the LC500 since it looks so much different than any other car out there on the road. It look elegant, look expensive and most importantly it’s PURE aspirated V8. The note sounds phenomenal, overall just a perfect car in and out. Big thumbs up for Lexus

    • @happios
      @happios 4 роки тому +1

      canah1 by performance you really are just talking about straight line. Because handling wise you will not notice the difference unless you really push it on the track. The lc500 handles amazingly well, and I've driven a bunch of 911s, amgs and BMW Ms.
      My Tesla is faster then the m850 but only in straight line. My lc500 is much more fun to drive and sounds great. Not to knock on the BMW , just saying performance is not only about straight line. Bmw doesn't have much advantage in terms of handling vs the lc500. A mustang or Corvette can run circles around this BMW if you only compare on that regard. I look at the overall package and the emotional engagement the car brings you. The Lexus is just a more well rounded car... And much better looking .

    I am fortunate to own a 2021 LC also in white with caramel interior. It is awesome. And this review nails its positives. Terrific review btw gentlemen. I’m glad UA-cam recommended it. The car does have a few negatives. Things that are intuitive like a button for seat warmers on other Lexuses are now buried in the Lexus climate software. So it takes a while to find the function. This is the case many times over with other functions too. But the sound of the car at startup and full tilt is just sublime. The car’s power is also immensely usable.

    I actually considered both cars. Had an issue with the BMW's halo (don't like the attention). In the end, I ended up picking the LC, more specifically because I got worn by the expenses my old Germans pulled (MB). I've been with Lexus since 2012 and I love the fact that it costs me about 250$ a year to maintain - compared to more than a 1000$. And the fixes long term on my Benzes that I'm saving now are actually paying for LC ! And I think that, seeing how quickly the Germans are depreciating, in the long run, maintenance fees aside, the resale value will stick a bit longer with the LC. It's no Porsche, but I got my fingers crossed. All and all, I loved both cars and the 850 is phenomenal, but the LC is the more rational choice here... and I love it. Now you need to get the windows tinted if you don't like the attention... cuz it catches a lot of it! Thanks for the video guys !

But I had to go with the Lexus. I thought about reliability and maintenance. Also the uniqueness of the Lexus. You will definitely stand out on the road. I always get everyone staring and trying to take pictures. The squeaking brakes will annoying you, because you think you’re brakes are bad. Dealer said everything is good and normal. 8:35 - you’re actually leaning your seat too far back. Proper driving positions is when hands at 9 and 3 o’clock with your arms are about 90-130 degrees bent at the elbows, so you have most control and leverage needed during emergency maneuvering.
