Dagoth just sounds like a nice grandpa sharing stories from when he used to live in his homeland before moving to somewhere else for better opportunities.
I played The Elder Scrolls Online on Game Pass. It has good quests, expands the lore to other provinces yet untouched by the main games and is quite fun. However, it does suffers from the fact that it is an MMORPG. I play the game as an singleplayer game, so the other players running around is annoying, the enemies respaw in like, less than a minute and are more blind than a Moth Priest, and to play in all of available Tamriel i need to buy all that DLCs. If the game was singleplayer or a less "Massive" online game it would be so much better.
ESO is really good if you treat it like a single-player Elder Scrolls game with a bunch of NPCs with advanced A.I. and weird outfits running around. Honestly, ESO has a VAST amount of content to explore, even in the base game without any expansions, IIRC that's either free to play or like 20$ max. You could easily spend 200-500 hours just doing quests and exploring, zero grinding, zero interaction with anyone else. That said, the RP community for ESO was pretty good back in the day but I know that's not everyone's cup of tea.
Honoring the Tribe Unmourned for some ESO Slander, as I can just imagine Dagoth Ur talking about the game and spitting fire. "The storyline for the base game had some promise, and you did become an avatar of some kind, only unlike Martin, that mongrel dog of the Empire, you do not turn into a statue and then spend the rest of your days in some Daedric plane of Oblivion while everyone else goes around doing the same dungeon for the millionth time"
Daggerfall is an actual immersive sim, something you don't really find nowadays. It's not really about better / worse, it's just a different genre of game. Comparing Daggerfall to later ES would be like comparing Warcraft 3 to League of Legends.
i think ESOs expansions are some of the best content in the series. In the Morrowind one, you can find remnants of the Sixth House and also two twins who are descendants of Dagoth Ur- implying he fucked.
@@SparklingWalrus Have you ever tried it? Most probably not. There are very many solid quests and stories you can enjoy while traveling beautiful places. It the best thing you can get outside the mainline games.
Morrowinds combat mechanics are actually the best because they reinforce that tue game is an RPG and the Nerevar has to actually get good at a thing ib order to be good at a thing. Also stamina actually matters.
I take it very simple. Every game says something about you if you say it is your favorite: Arena: If you really want to experience the original. Daggerfall: If you want the old Elder Scrolls. It does all that Arena does, but better. And there are newer engines that run great and look much better on modern systems Morrowind: Dagoth Ur welcomes your decision. This is how you honor the 6th House and the tribe unmourned Oblivion: Bring Sean Bean to Cloud Ruler Temple and enjoy the leveling enemies Skyrim: See that mountain? You can climb it! Use the "Staff of Bethesda - Summons a new copy of Skyrim wherever you're pointing it" Now for the spinnoffs: Battlespire: you like to talk to everything Redguard: You want it to be good. ESO: Skyrim Online. Legends: you like card games Blades: You want to play Elder Scrolls, but the Android port of Skyrim hasn't been released yet Travels: Your only machine is a 2004-era flip phone Nehrim/Enderal: You like the idea of Elder Scrolls games, but you don't care for TES lore.
Honor to the 6th House and Dagoth Brandy Reserve on tap for those true to Morrowind (As it should be) But gotta say, from 10:00 - 10:08 "It may be set in an elder scrolls world but it is not an elder scrolls game" I say this so often to my buddy- and in general, who loves ESO (but hasn't tried any others) and I never considered the dirty, attention-whore MMO spin-off as part of the series. You forgot about the fact that there’s so much retconning of Morrowind in Skyrim it’s almost like they’re in completely different IPs. Draugr, Nord culture, the layout of the province, as well as Solstheim itself.
@@DonMadruga72 Well, the only bit of Skyrim we see before TES5 is on Solstheim, a small island. OpenMW at the minimum which is basically an upgrade to Morrowind's engine. Better bodies still holds up today in my opinion as a mod to upgrade Morrowinds bodies though there are other ones to choose from if you want to upgrade further from there. Later on after getting used to the base game a bit maybe Tamriel rebuilt which adds the rest of the province of Morrowind in a very lore friendly way.
