  • In this video we discuss how to get started growing your own sprouts from home. Sprouting trays (amzn.to/2XFYyq1) make this process easy.
    1. Soak 2 tablespoons of sprouting seeds in a jar with water for 12 hours
    2. Pour seeds into sprouting tray and rinse well
    3. Rinse seeds/sprouts every 12 hours for 5 days
    4. Harvest and enjoy!
You'll find links below to all the equipment we used in this video.

Hi Joanna thanks for sharing the practical trays you using. I've been watching other channels ,want to start sprouting but the kits -all different types have not inspired me to sprout. The tray you're using is practical to me but the problem is I can't find this tray. Would you mind sharing where to get this tray? Regards from Sabah, Malaysia

Your mom is so wonderfully informative, and you're both super lovely! I'd been wanting to double check about the foam - almost no one mentions it and I was MOSTLY sure I remembered that it was a normal thing, but then I wanted to be sure my seeds were still good and it wasn't something else. Thank you for this video and thank you both for your wholesome energy throughout!

In the 1970's my mother came home from work raving about a healthy sandwich she had and the sprouts they used on it. This led to the start of her adventure. We ate these nearly everyday until I joined the Marine Corp. She continued after and when her and dad lived in their RV touring the country she always had a jar going. We have restarted this healthy adventure and this brought back so many wonderful memories of my Mother. Thank you for that. The funny thing is that setup is very close to what she had. Thanks for the information, but even more, thanks for the memory. It was a good one and nearly brought a tear to my eyes. Thanks. Now I need to find the recipe for her homemade granola. Her Granola, plus honey and peanut butter, was my favorited snack growing up.

My grandmother was a "health nut" back in the days when it was considered crazy to be into stuff like sprouts! I grew up (in the 60s) with my favorite lunch being a sandwich of whole grain toast, smashed avocado, & alfalfa sprouts with a drizzle of olive oil & a sprinkle of garlic salt. I've just decided to make my own sprouts, so this video is my blueprint!

I think I remember them being around $0.89 for a basket about the size of a small strawberry basket. The last time I bought some locally they were over $4 for container a little bit bigger than that! WOW! Great video! My wife and I have just started researching sprouting and are so glad we came across your content! The sprouting trays she use look great and are so reasonably priced.
Could you please ask her where she buys her sprouting seeds? Again, thank you so much for the video and your time and consideration.

I'm so glad you found the video helpful! My mom buys her seeds from sproutpeople.org/. She stores most of them now in her freezer and pulls them straight out of there to use them. Good luck on your sprouting journey!

Mom is so organized, and very clear on the information she wants to convey! Lucky you!

My favorite way to eat sprouts is in a cheese quesadilla 😆

Hi Peggy! If you buy one kit it gives you enough to make three trays full of sprouts. My mom has several of the kits, that's why you see so many in the video! 😁❤️

Thanks ladies.. do you buy your seeds in bulk? or just on Amazon? I just purchased some alfalfa sprouts at Home Depot but that's $4/small envelope. Is there a way to make the sprouts go back to seed?

We buy a lot of our sprouts on sproutpeople.com. they will be cheaper there! Amazon probably has some good options too. To get seed from the plants you'd need to cultivate them until they're grown when they'll start producing seed. I have never tried that before!

Bello mss, I am a lady from Holland and I saw your you-tupe film with your Daugherty. I like to go make sprouts also and you have good trays.. Did you buy them in England? Can you say where you buy them and do you think I can order them also there?
Kind regards, Aria Bor, from Holland.

We purchased them in the US, you can try going to trueleafmarket online, they might ship worldwide! They sell their sprouting kits on their website.

Can you use regular garden seeds to sprout.????.. I've never sprouted. I think I saw someone use garbanzo beans to sprout ... is that possible???

Hi Barb! You can use regular gardening seed, yes! You can typically find sprouting seeds for cheaper than garden seeds, so that's one thing to consider. I think my mom has sprouted garbonzo before, I know it's possible!
