If you want to have a laugh turn on subtitles and see how much the auto-subtitles struggle to understand our Canadian accents. 😂 Sorry for the Audio issues on this episode. There's an exporting issue with the editing program I use this month.
I noticed that on the last one I watched, talking about oregon grape berry eating and something pretty funny resulted, I do not notice any accent though ..
Really enjoyed this episode. Thank you for sharing your tips and techniques as well as the thrill we all get every time that golden yellow hits ours eyes. Top quality Chanterelles. Looking forward to your next episode Gents. Cheers!
Thank you! Subscribed to your channel when you last commented. Not sure if youtube auto-flagged that comment because I can't seem find it now. It's exciting to see so many people sharing a love for foraging on the Island now! Take care :)
Loved the narration and explanations in this episode! Helps me to learn some of what you guys have discovered over the years. Excited about next week’s episode and the future Morel 2023 series!
Great video Phil and Randy, the scenery is stunning and the mushrooms beautiful. I watched a second time CC on a giggled a bit. I am looking forward to next weeks video, thank you!
Enjoyed. Hope you guys can GPS those higher density patches. Your chanterelles are so much bigger than even our big varieties here in NL (but ours flush way denser sometimes, 100 lbs in 2500mm2)
This was a very low volume season for chanterelles here on Vancouver Island. I think i have probably 30 separate gps tracks from over the last decade in this particular patch. During a better year we get around 200lbs from a day of harvesting with two of us but we’ve been having a real lack of summer rain the last 3 years.

Its a soggy day!

This is straight vibes. I could get lost (not literally) foraging in the forest for hours
Ultimate forest bathing 😁🌲

Great to hear it! Morel content should come out following the fall season content. We will have foraging videos releasing all winter. :)
Enjoying from Elliot Lake Ont. Big howdy to Randy 😁 Merry HOHO🎄🎅

10:55 i cook them and vacum seal them to preserve them works quite well
Yeah that is also a great method! We also do a bit of that for our own consumption, as well as freezing them pre-sliced.

Thank you! Which ones are you referring to?
@@northernwildharvest the emoji ha ha 😂
Oh hehe we leave the Amanita muscaria for Mario and Luigi 😅
Ha!
Did you guys film your morel hunt this year?
Yes we did. It's a more involved project so it's going to take some time to edit but it will be on our channel in the future!
I look forward to it!
Typical, as a retired farmer,,, doesn't rain all season until harvest...
Is that a turtle on the right side of the shot at 11:36?
Haha it’s a half decomposed vanilla leaf but I can totally see what you’re saying 😂
Do you find Black Trumpets ?
We don’t really harvest them on Vancouver Island. Lots of people head down to north/central Cali for them.
