OMG I wanted a video exactly like this, James! Yes, our black Asian hair is hard to lift, it’s certainly an investment. I’m convinced that I rather just get a wig should I need a color change lol 😅

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  3 роки тому +5

Wicked Jesse yes I would have to agree that probably a wig it’s the way to go it saves an awful lot of cost and complications with condition. Thanks for your comment all the best James

One of the reasons east Asian hair takes so long to lift is bc we have more cuticle to break through. Western hair usually has 5 layers or less, whereas Asian hair on average can have double that.

That is correct thank you for your comment

I’m very happy to see this video, Thanks to mention the time because last week I have done a full head highlights for client in college and it was full like your one, it took me 3 hours and my teacher was angry because she expected me to finish in 1 and 30 minutes.Anyways i was very proud of myself because the highlight was amazing and my client left happy about the result.
Thank you, Allah bless you and your family

Ugh yesssss this is stunning!! Appointments with my stylist usually runs for 3 hours including a cut, wash and dry but there's always an assistant on hand to help with the foils! Thanks so much for sharing this, really informative and interesting -- I love how much detail you provide. Don't think I'll be trying this one at home though ...!

🤩😍 stunning result, As an Asian…… I know how much work it is to get a maximum lift on Asian hair…….. and totally agree, for me there’s no other better way than using the foilyage technique……. And remind us how much time and products we needed…….. just also good to know that bleaching Asian hair is much more easy on natural hair than already coloured hair, don’t you think ?
Thank you James for sharing this video which is very interesting as usual 🙏

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  3 роки тому +1

Yes that’s a very good point bleaching natural Asian hair is easier that tinted hair but it’s dose depend on how dark the tinted hair is and how many time it’s has been tinted before 😁👍🏻

James, I love it!😊 And bless you for sharing how long it takes you do apply the foils - I work with people who have been doing hair for 25+ years and do everyone in a 30-30-30 or 45-45-45, no matter what the service. I feel pressured when it takes me 50+ minutes to foil and I have to drop the foils in back so they don't over-process. So thank you🙏 And thank you again!!!🌺 Oh, and saturate, saturate, saturate!

    Absolutely loved the video!
75% of my clients have dark hair and want blonde hair! it’s very challenging and time consuming work.
I belong to your Patriot channel and have been waiting for you to do videos on dark hair, I love your videos.. and definitely picked up some pointers from this one.
I just wish you would have gone into the color formulation on root color and toning.
Like I said I watch your videos and have learned so much from you ; and look forward to learning more especially on dark hair.

Think I'm a slow foiler.lol. yes I've read many of the comments about pressure to do it under a timer. Nightmare. I'm mobile. And I explain to people the time involved..... But if your in their home some other family member comes in and looks or makes comment about "you still at that?". Or the person wants to answer the door Or the phone.... chit chats then wonders why your still there 2 hrs later. Just can't win some days. Lol

  • @ThatsTheWayItGoes

Professional materials are SO much better than the ones at-home consumers have access to. The formulas are thicker and the foils are sturdier. I tried it with a L’Oréal Colorista All-over bleach kit and that mess had the same consistency as water. Just save the money and let a professional do it :)

I believe you’re using redken flashlift -how on earth do you get your foils not to bleed when you go up that high? Sometimes I get bad luck and a little bleeding most of the time I don’t but I’ve heard a few hair dressers say to spray a bit of water in the bleach mixture which is what I do with blondme to never get bleeding wondered if you did this

wawww!! thank you jame for your answer
i will try to ask in my poor english.
    Congratulation, wontherfull job
I follow yours videos, they are absolutely education full
I would like to know, why do you use peroxide of 20 vol, since you have to lift up to 10 tones.
how many bleach did you done to get that lift with 20 vol
another question wich kind of shampoo and conditioner did you done after and before the bleaching and shading.
    hope you can understand
thank you for so much teaching.
    grettings from Argentina, Sergio

    I just a hair enthusiast. You’re awesome
I have very dark hair and had something similar done and I was very happy and it was surprising and now I understand why she did this but I moved away and scared to go local as the reviews were not up to blonde par
how would you maintain this for your client asking for Myself too :) can I gloss myself ? With a 2% to revive it
Im Not a professional just doing research before I sit in the new chair my roots r good but by next month I’ll be due for a touch up
I don’t want to ruin her good work and I’m finally a level I like
    Help ❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸

    excelente trabajo, felicitaciones
