The scene in Peter's room with mom in the corner was the scariest for me. And this one is my favorite horror movie. The grandma was trying to do the same with her male relatives. You can hear Annie talk about it during the grieving session. So this was going on for a very long time. They were puppets for the cult. Like dolls inside miniatures. The first shot of the movie shows us that.
Well, since you asked so nicely…. It was mom banging her head from the underside of the attic door. And as far as favorite scary movies go, well - The Terrifier series (for the funsies), Hereditary of course, Midsommar, Talk To Me, Speak No Evil (the original from 2022), Train to Busan, Evil Dead (2013), The Descent, all 3 A Quiet Place movies, The Sadness, The Taking of Deborah Logan, and some of the more lighthearted good-time spook vibes great for reactions are ones like the V/H/S series, Evil Dead Rise, The Menu, Abigail, Zombieland, It Follows, Shawn of the Dead, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, a shitload of others my brain is not computing at 3:13 in the morning…
Finally a good reaction to this movie with people that actually have empathy for Peter and understand what he was going through after the accident. Also glad that yall understood the theme of grief, and how everyone can grieve in completely different ways, leading to their behavior and consequences.

Shes doing just fine.
My favorite moment of this reaction was when nothing happened and it made one of you shout, and the shout made the other one get jump scared into shouting, and that shout reaction cause the first guy to get jump scared and shout again. The environment of this movie is so suspenseful, it did nothing and started a chain reaction of panic.
YES!! 1000% we found ourselves in a series of anxiety filled moments when watching this, that honestly it was when nothing was happening when we were on our most guard! You nailed it
It hasn't let up since I saw it in 2019. The best dramatic horror film that gets to the depths of your soul, generating elemental fear, pain that stays with you forever. The visuals of the film, the slow camera movements, the off-screen sounds, and Colin Stetson's soundtrack that leads you into the depths of hell. A dysfunctional family falling apart has perhaps never been portrayed so powerfully on film. And the horror that slowly seeps in - but is actually present from the first frame - is absolutely devastating at the end. I can safely say that Ari Aster has risen to the top of the new wave of horror directors with this film.
I couldn’t agree more, these new wave of horror truly deserves the title of elevated horror, not to say there is anything wrong with the classics, but there is just so much more to take away from some of these newer films.
In the first scene where Peter is in class they’re discussing how it’s more tragic when people aren’t given a choice in their destiny. Annie is in the same predicament. The more she tries to deal with her grief the more she accelerates the plans of the cult. The family never had a chance from the very outset.
I'm one-third of the way through this reaction and it's already my favourite hereditary reaction video online - genuinely love you guys already, subscribed!
Great reaction to one of the best horror movies of all time. The whole theme is about vulnerability, and the whole movie tries to make you feel hopeless. Paimon goes for the most vulnerable person, and the movie makes you feel as hopeless as the characters, and does it so well.
this is one of the best reaction channels ive seen, i listened to it in the background your conversations are like a podcast and i feel like you didnt miss anything effortlessly funny AND paying attention literally and emotionally ten out of ten
MATTTX that is one of the best comments we’ve ever gotten, that’s like exactly what we’re going for, thank you so much for taking the time to watch with us, can’t wait do do more! You are a ten out of ten! And yes midsommer is for sure coming 😃
Im so glad you guys picked up on the grief theme too... so many reactors dont. When you started out talking about that tree house... i literally LOL'd. Great reaction! 👍
Y'all have very pleasant voices, are observant and seem to know when not to talk over the movie... which is not a common skill among reactors... new subscriber! 😄 watchable/enjoyable reacting is such a delicate balance of engaging the audience while still also paying attention and connecting with the story being told, and you guys did great! Since I have no idea what y'all have and have not seen or what genres you prefer, I'll just recommend a few of my favorites that I enjoy watching reactions to; -The Impossible -Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World -Dune Part 1 and Part 2 - Interstellar -Arrival A few that I've never seen reactions to; -Closer -The English Patient -Sunshine -Dear Frankie -The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert
Thank you, this truly made Jacob’s and Is day, we work hard to make sure we aren’t being to overbearing with our commentary so it’s lovely to know that’s appreciated! As for that move selection, some seriously awesome picks, Jacob shouted “Dune!” When he saw that lol we’ve been wanting to do a watch through of the new dune movies, they look fantastic!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write us, and I hope we don’t let ya down, we’ll see ya at the movies, -W, J
@ReelReviewHQ Aw 🥹 I was a loyal viewer of Roger Ebert, used to hear that tag line weekly. Denis Villeneuve's films are simply MAGNIFICENT storytelling. Y'all will not be disappointed!
I rewatch a lot of Hereditary reactions for comfort watching. This one is definitely going in my rotation. I’ve never laughed out loud so much at one. Though Alanda Parker’s reaction comes the closest.
This FILM is brilliant. There are so many things to unpack in this. Grandma had been the Queen of the cult for MANY years, had Paimon and kept him protected all that time until they could find an acceptable host. Remember Annie’s (Toni’s) brother hanged himself in his Queen granny’s bedroom because he said his mother was trying to put people in his body. Oh, yeah… dad had made himself unalive, too. Annie’s husband was a psychiatrist so that’s why he was so supportive in everyone’s grieving process… also he had die. He is not a blood relative to the Queen, he just happen to marry into her family. So, exit dad, stage left! The blue light that you saw was the spirit of Paimon moving around and finally it settled into Peter the chosen, first of his name. Annie was a diarama artist. The one with granny’s teet out for Charlie was her feeding her. She wasn’t showing Annie how. She was nurturing Paimon. The shot at Charlie’s funeral was brilliant. It was a far away shot and the camera lowered at the same rate as the coffin… and then keeps going into a grave. You already have a feeling of oppression with the score, but this shot shows you what you will see (if you could see,) what it looks like to be lowered into your own grave. On the gaff side, I love the ever-expanding tree house! In the beginning, it fit Charlie and a space heater just fine. Not much room for anything else. Later, Annie is sleeping in there comfortably with two space heaters. At the end… let’s see… there was enough room for a statue with Charlie’s head on it, two headless corpses bowing to it, the host of tonight’s ceremonies, Joan, and about 30 naked people… and of course have enough room for Peter to take the crown. I think Peter should call in sick to school the next day. He’s just not feeling himself. This was my first time to find your channel and I had fun! But you CAN’T stop watching scary movies or films. Y’all’s reactions are too fun!
First off, this was a fantastic break down of info, we love reading through this stuff, so thank you 🙏 and yes more scary stuff on the way, we are just trying to break it up so we don’t live in a constant state of fear lol
I'm a bit late but there's a reason Annie didn't want Peter: She knew that her mother had plans for him, even if she didn't know exactly what. Keep in mind that Annie's father allegedly died of starvation and her brother was schizophrenic. Were those in fact attempts at the reincarnation ritual gone wrong? We don't know how much Annie witnessed of it all but she just knew that a male offspring of hers would not be safe with her mother around.
She won Best Lead Actress for this in Blogos de Oro, Best Actress for this at the BOFCA’s, Best Actress for this at CFCA Awards, Best Actress for this at DFCS Awards, Best Actress for this at DFCC Awards, Best Actress for this at Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, Best Actress for this at Fright Meter Awards, Best Actress for this at the GAFCA Awards, Best Actress of the Year for this at the Golden Schmoes, Best Actress for this at Gotham Independent Film Awards, Best Actress for this at HFCS (Hawaii Film Critics Society) Awards, Best Actress for this at HFCS (Houston Film Critics Society) Awards, Best Lead Performer In A Movie for this at IGN Awards, Best Actress for this at Halfway Awards… I could keep going. Shes doing just fine.
MAN another fvckin' banger reaction. I didn't get a chance to reply to your question on my last comment on your Twilight reaction where you asked which film I'd suggest to you all next, but I was totally going to say Hereditary 😂 Y'all did NOT disappoint! It was touching to see you all moved by Annie and Joan's grief, while also being scared sh!tless and anxious from beginning to end 😂❤ Mf said "Yeah hi this is Peter's teacher, Mr. Montgomery. Peter broke his nose...again..." I was dead asf 💀💀 The symbolism is RICH in this film. My favorite is the man staring at Charlie at Grandma's funeral and the lady stalking/waving at her at her school being the same ones that are naked in the house the night Peter is expelled/possessed. They had them posing and interacting with both children in the exact same manners and the contexts even parrallel. Charlie is standing over the dead body of the family member she'd been closest to, and looks back over her shoulder at the smiling man. Peter is standing over the dead body of the family member he'd been closest to, and looks back over his shoulder at the same smiling man. After Charlie decapitates the pigeon, she sees the woman staring and waving at her. After Peter witnesses his mom decapitate herself, he sees the same woman staring and waving at her- but here's the CRAZY part of it all: King Paimon's most used and trusted familiar is the pigeon. He can call upon and command them to do his Earthly biddings. This is why when Paimon was incarnated in human form as Charlie, they were able to summon the pigeon that hit the window when the teacher put them on the spot. Charlie's last drawing was a pigeon head wearing a crown. In the end scene in the tree house, there is a caged pigeon standing next to Charlie's head, symbolising the familiar being trapped and enslaved to the King and bound to his will. Peter was not the most vulnerable host- Annie was. Annie was King Paimon's pigeon, doing his bidding exactly as planned by him. Out of the five family members including Grandma, Annie was the only one who wasn't close to anyone. Charlie loved and trusted Grandma, and Peter loved and trusted Steve. Annie, however, rejected Peter's attempt to connect at dinner. She did not accept or reciprocate Steve's efforts and affections. She lied to Steve about going to the movies. She never confided in either of them about Joan or the seance. Her distance, indifference, emotional absence, and overall failure to foster connection and unity in the household made her the perfect pigeon, and Paimon was using her the entire movie by feeding off the disconnect and turmoil to achieve his ultimate desire- possessing Peter. So, when Charlie decapitates the pigeon and sees the woman waving, we see that same woman at the end with Peter in the attic because Annie was the pigeon being decapitated. Can you tell I love this film? 👀 Thanks so much for the upload y'all! Can't wait to see what's next! Love and support from SATX Edit: I also may or may not have rewound y'all saying "suh Toni" like seven times just to here y'all greet me and say my name 💀❤
SUUUUUUHHHHHHH TOOOOONNNNIII!!!!!! You are the best, and that insight into the film was awesome to read, it was honestly so easy to empathize with every characters standpoint. This movie made Jacob and I go home and hug our kids. And Has stayed with me ever since. A24 is absolutely killing the game right now, got anymore suggestions? Also thank you so much for watching movies with us, do you think we should do a live movie watch?
Hahaha SATONY 😂😂 Yo YES a live movie watch would be badass! Obviously y’all have to watch Midsommar now, that one and Hereditary are sister films 😈 They're not actually connected they’re just both super occultic and disturbing. Do a live of Midsommar for Jalloween 🥳
Also im definitely subscribing your reaction was really funny to watch but also really good I watched this with my mom and we both liked it but the scariest part to me in the movie is the dinner scene where the mother is yelling it genuinely scared me since you could see her start to spiral after the death of Charlie
You know, if you look at this from Queen Leigh’s pov, this movie had a happy ending. Leigh was able to use all of her family in order to achieve her goal and it was a successful possession. Leigh and Joan are heroes, depending on your pov. Lol
Great reaction! At the dinner table scene where Annie was saying Peter wouldn't admit what he did and all he did was sit there with that "face on his face," it's probably because when she looked at him she saw the same grinning face he saw when he looked at himself in the glass at school. You should check out Midsommar. It's a different kind of disturbing.
This movie makes me laugh when I think of it, simply because of my 16 yr old daughters reaction when we watched it not long ago. She was doing ok up until the mum was hanging out in the ceiling corner after Peter woke from his nap and then mum scuttling/floating past behind him. She let out a big, horrified "NOPE!!" and exited the room like Paimon himself was after her 😂😂😂😂😂
i LOVED seeing your reactions to this one!!! i hateeee horror movies, they trigger my paranoia something fierce, but seeing it with you guys (scaring each other just as much as the film scared you) absolutely made it more bearable to sit through haha!! i cannot handle broken noses, i think that moment where the son smashed his nose was one of the most upsetting moments in any piece of media for me. loved to hear your thoughts!!!
@@ReelReviewHQ that's INSANE!!!! his dedication to the performance really shows. if you want a fun movie that he also stars in, i GOTTA recommend M. Knight Shyamalan's Old!
Loved your reactions to this epic film, the cast in it are phenomenal. I was really surprised at this film as I thought it wouldn't be my type of movie at first but absolutely love it now. Ohhh I'd recommend some classic horror movies for you. One of my all time favorite movies from childhood is a classic 80s B zombie flick 'the return of the living dead' it fun, some gory-ish moments, with humour, punks and lots of zombies. See if some of your viewers would like the same review of this zombie flick Loving your reactions guys, keep up the grand work and will look forward to more of your jump scares.
@@ReelReviewHQ haha love it, poor Jacob though, awww you're not babies, if you're not use to horror, you're doing brilliant so far. I will think of some horrors to get you scared 🤭🤭. And thank you, from one one stud to another.
I’m so sorry you guys had a rough time, but this was SO entertaining 😂 for another messed up A24 very much in this same vein, you should watch Midsommar (I apologize in advance). Another movie that’s considered horror but not at all in the same way is Parasite. I feel like you guys would really enjoy that one because it does have some humor and is very clever. Also if you haven’t seen it, Cabin in the Woods is a great one (even my anti-horror sister loved it). With twists on the standard horror tropes, it pays homage to the classics like Evil Dead but is again quite clever and definitely has some humor as well. I’m sorry you’re having to subject yourselves to the horror but it is DEFINITELY entertaining. Suggestions keep popping into my head, but I’ll save them for future comments lol
It was so unsettling lol one of my kids randomly started to do the tongue click thing the other day, my soul left my body. I’ve heard great things about parasite!! Gonna have to check it out, thank you so much for giving us the time of day and watching a movie with us!!
It's fun(?) watching reactors having the same reaction to the pole scene that I had. Watching this movie I was convinced I was seeing an instant horror classic.
31:15 Pandemonium literally means “all demons” or “all evil spirits” according to Milton's “Paradise Lost”; Pan = "all” and daemonium = "evil spirits”. You guys are gonna have to burn some sage now, LOL. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Haha
"Deliver Us from Evil" 2014 is the first biblical horror to remind me of "The Exorcist"...since "The Exorcist". or, if you can't: "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" 1948
Hey my guy! Thank you for the Recommendation honestly we wouldn’t have watched this movie without it, and really glad we did, although it was horrifying, it’s a cinematic experience I’m glad we undertook :) keep em coming my guy!!!
It's funny cos everyone who reacts to this thinks Joan is just the sweetest lady! 🤣 Since it's spooky season I'd like to suggest you watch The Taking of Deborah Logan!! 😁 Fun reaction! 💯
Fully enjoyed this reaction. Hereditary is a hell of a film. If you want to get even weirder Ari Aster's follow up Beau is Afraid is definitely worth a watch!
I never hear/see anyone placing blame on the parents for Charlies death. The 2 times we've seen her outside the house (apart from the school_ she hasn't had her Epipen, which means it probably a regular occurrence
Never will I ever pass up a Hereditary reaction when I find one. Great cold open. It’s about to make me go through your videos and find more stuff to watch. A subscribe, perhaps?
@Hey_Jamie love it :) thanks for watching and thanks for the sub! lol Jacob and I are definitely gonna have to do Terrifier, although I can tell it’s gonna be a freaky one ha!
Oh man you guys had me laughing out loud throughout this entire reaction. The Dave Grohl dude making the other dude jump with his reactions was priceless 😆
This movie brought out absolute baby in me I was jumping and anxious at every shadow lol 😂 thanks for watching! What was your reaction during this movie?
u guys are so much fun to watch this with!! i hope youll consider ari’s other film “midsommar” if you havent watched already. “talk to me” is another great one as well that also deals with grief but under… different. circumstances lol. sorry to do this to u jacob but its october!! i swear i dont not like you
If you haven’t seen a foreign horror film i definitely suggest the 1970s Italian movie suspria that one uses color so well and for a 1970s horror movie it’s genuinely really good
Great reaction to true tension horror. The sort of thing that lets your imagination do half the work, so makes it 1 million times worse A bit of geekdom here for you to help settle your mind The lore regarding Paimon in this is nearly spot on. They have only made a couple of little changes. 1. Paimon is 1 of 9 Kings of Hell, not 8. They changed this to tie it in with a compass direction. 2. The beheading of sacrifices hasn't got anything to do with Paimons demonic lore. The reason it was included is from the original artwork of King Paimon from history (the pic in the film). You'll see 3 heads hanging from his belt. That is the ONLY thing that even hints towards that needing to be done. As well as to add a bit more ritual & some reason for the gore. & Feth me does it add some shocking brutality to the movie. But to cover a couple of the less than obvious things. The floating bodies IS part of Paimons lore. If you go back & pause on the page about him in the book you'll see that he is able to bend or break the laws of physics. So floating is no problem what so ever. Also making his followers super rich would be simple. Again he can bend/break the laws of physics. So hand him a block of wood & he could just change it to solid gold, as an example. Hope this helps add a bit of extra creepiness to a great horror. Have an amazing week & much love to everyone from here in the UK
Great reaction guys, definitely didn't feel prewatched or hammed up to any degree; no sarcasm. Dropping a like. In my middle age I haven't had a movie like, scare me or disturb me in any significant way in a long, long time but this one most definitely did. I can't not put this at the very tip top of my list of horror movies. Keep it up guys!
So the scene where Peter slams his face on his desk…well there was a cushion 43:33 on it and the actor Alex thought it would be extra soft so when he was slamming his face he actually broke his nose 😭 he’s reaction is genuine probably like dang that hurt 😂
Would love to see you guys watch Legally Blonde!! It’s a great lighthearted feel good movie and super funny but a lot of men won’t give it a chance because it’s a “chic flick”.. Mean Girls would also be a good watch!
Finally worked myself up to watch this with you guys. I like scary movies but I heard this one was really bad. And, yeah, holy shit. Might need to rewatch a twilight react because what the hell was that loca???? 😂
Thank you so much, seriously! More coming for sure, my wife was just saying K movies have the most unique stories! Gonna have to check that out! Thanks for the rec!!
This is why I have a verbal contract with all my friends in family in which I have implicitly said, if we're in a situation where we keep hearing a noise, or the walls or shaking, or we're seeing ghosts and the house is haunted or demons are afoot, and they are refusing to leave, and want to stay and live with it even though it's killed the dog, and tried to claw Tommy's eyes out, I love them all very very much, but I'm running and/or I'm leaving them all for dead. There is no ride or die in me. There is a reason the whole family dies in these things---because they all stay for some inexplicable reason even though there is a door and a car and they have money. Like why?
This movie is so sad to me. The mither was lied to and manipulated her whole life, she was used, her children were used, she had a miserable life... I would second guess having kids too, if I were in her pisition. I think making miniatures makes sense, it's a way to take yourself out of the situation and process it, idk. Grief and trauma manifests in weird ways, maybe it was an art form that allowerd to feel detached from such burdens, sadness, guilt. The more I rewatch this movie the more I cry, the only people who get what they want are the cult people, successfully summoning a demon. The rest of the characters just suffer till the end. Also shout-out to the actress who played the daughter, after this movie she got massive hate and bullying because of her appearance and even took a hiatus from acting. :(
I’m not sorry, screw anyone who went after her for her appearance, she is lovely! And a brilliant actress, the movie was only made better by her being in it! This film really stuck with us and your right it’s for the feeling of hopeless grief. To me it’s not the scary imagery but the fear of losing the ones we love that keeps me up at night. When I was younger I would stare into the cracked door of a darkened closet picturing monsters and dead things, now I stare into the darkness and see nothing at all.. what’s scarier?
@@ReelReviewHQ my favs from the list are prob the dark and the wicked and your are not my mother. Dark and the wicked is a story about siblings returning to the family farm and strange things start to happen. You are not my mother is an Irish film, it’s like a cool different take on the changeling folklore but the acting is so unsettling and creepy it’s great
Spooktober rec: Sweeney Todd - it's dark and creepy and has horror elements but definitely not scary, starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and directed by Tim Burton (his best work imo). Non-spooktober rec: Knives Out- a classic who's who mystery with a breathtakingly star-studded cast including Tony Colette who plays a polar opposite character.
I found yall from the Twilight reaction. Loved the VVITCH reaction and now I subbed because I LOVE this movie. If you want to keep up with Spooktober here's a list of scary movies I recommend! The one's with the exclamation are the ones I HIGHLY suggest. Psycho/Thriller: The Night House (!) The Invisible Man (!) Hush Get Out Monsters R Us: Nope A Quiet Place Part 1 & Part 2 A Quiet Place: Day One Ghosts & Demons: Talk to Me (!) The Black Phone (!) Movies that will actually scare you and even traumatize you Hereditary :) Midsommar
I can speak for Jacob and myself here when I say first thanks for the sub!! Second we can’t wait for Spooktober to end lol cause these recommendations are so scary lol!! These are great Recs though, gonna for sure check them out, Also if you liked twilight be on the lookout for New Moon reaction dropping the 18th it was insanely fun, Jacob is unhinged lol
@ReelReviewHQ I am impatiently waiting. I was 12 yo in 2008. I watched the first film and then read all 4 books. Being a teen girl during the height of Twlight was something I'll never forget. And funnily enough, my dad and I bonded over these books/movies! He is retired military but during his deployment he ended up reading the books too so we got to watch the last two movies together in theaters when he got back!
Please watch Jennifer’s body! I think y’all would enjoy it. But yes, hereditary is dreadful 😅 After watching Hereditary for the first time I had to take a day or two to reacclimatize to normal life. I felt so much like a soldier coming home from war.
I heard Jennifer’s body is a lot of fun! And yes Hereditary has given me ptsd anytime I’m up late getting water in my kitchen, also my toddler just started doing a tongue click, and I almost feinted the other night lololol
Aww, Jacob doesn’t like horror? You guys should check out the Terrifier movies. The name is off-putting, don’t let it fool you. They’re a family-fun time! 🙃
first time watching you guys and i love your reaction already! since you're doing horror movies, would love to see you guys watch the visit if you haven't seen it yet
What was the moment that scared you the most?
Also, what’s your favorite scary movie?
The scene in Peter's room with mom in the corner was the scariest for me.
And this one is my favorite horror movie.
The grandma was trying to do the same with her male relatives. You can hear Annie talk about it during the grieving session. So this was going on for a very long time.
They were puppets for the cult. Like dolls inside miniatures. The first shot of the movie shows us that.
God it’s so great seeing all the details that we miss come together with you guys, I feel like we have so much more insight now, thank you!
Well, since you asked so nicely…. It was mom banging her head from the underside of the attic door. And as far as favorite scary movies go, well -
The Terrifier series (for the funsies), Hereditary of course, Midsommar, Talk To Me, Speak No Evil (the original from 2022), Train to Busan, Evil Dead (2013), The Descent, all 3 A Quiet Place movies, The Sadness, The Taking of Deborah Logan, and some of the more lighthearted good-time spook vibes great for reactions are ones like the V/H/S series, Evil Dead Rise, The Menu, Abigail, Zombieland, It Follows, Shawn of the Dead, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, a shitload of others my brain is not computing at 3:13 in the morning…

We truly felt horrible for him, he got the wrong end of the deal the whole time, but I guess that’s Paimons plan
Been dozens of them.
The most devastating thing about this film is that Toni didn’t even get nominated.

Great reaction to one of the best horror movies of all time. The whole theme is about vulnerability, and the whole movie tries to make you feel hopeless. Paimon goes for the most vulnerable person, and the movie makes you feel as hopeless as the characters, and does it so well.
Thank you so much, Paimon would have got us lol

If only little sweet Jacob and will knew the horrors that would occur in that damn treehouse lol 😂
The "getting old sucks" speech was more real and horrifying than the movie.
Since I have no idea what y'all have and have not seen or what genres you prefer, I'll just recommend a few of my favorites that I enjoy watching reactions to;
-The Impossible
-Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World
-Dune Part 1 and Part 2
- Interstellar
-Arrival
A few that I've never seen reactions to;
-Closer
-The English Patient
-Sunshine
-Dear Frankie
-The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert
Fun fact: (iirc) the actor for Peter genuinely slammed his face into the desk and broke his nose for that scene. Hardcore
Oh my god! I wonder if it was an accident or just pure dedication, either way Alex Wolff is a wonderful actor!
@ReelReviewHQ definitely a great actor! Pure dedication from what I understand
@@ReelReviewHQ Accident. He wanted to do it for real, but they said no. So there was padding; but not enough and he still injured his nose
I think this may be the first video of yours that I’ve watched, and I’m an instant fan!
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching with us!!
Tony stars in The Six Sense with Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osmet. Great, great movie.
I laughed way too hard at y'all hollering!!😂😂😂#Subscribed
It’s too damn scary lol
I just found my new movie reactors. Keep 'em coming, you guys!
You can count on us!! Thank you for the sweet words!!!
I rewatch a lot of Hereditary reactions for comfort watching. This one is definitely going in my rotation. I’ve never laughed out loud so much at one. Though Alanda Parker’s reaction comes the closest.
Glad to be a part of it!!
@@ReelReviewHQ I’m already back lol
Have you seen Tyler Alexander's reaction? That's my personal favourite.
@@ReelReviewHQ glad to hear!! I subscribed and got that bell a’ringing every time you drop stuff!
Go Y’all!!
God that makes sense, I suppose who would with a mother like that? I almost wonder if the family just moving away would have helped.
Still boggles my mind that Toni Colette wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar for this film 🤯🤬
It’s literally insane, she was putting on a clinic!! We think it might have something to do with “horror” and the Academy
@@ReelReviewHQ agreed.
Montgomery. Peter broke his nose...again..." I was dead asf 💀💀
The symbolism is RICH in this film. After Peter witnesses his mom decapitate herself, he sees the same woman staring and waving at her- but here's the CRAZY part of it all:
King Paimon's most used and trusted familiar is the pigeon.
Love and support from SATX
Edit: I also may or may not have rewound y'all saying "suh Toni" like seven times just to here y'all greet me and say my name 💀❤
Damn my phone turned Mexican at the end there jajaja
Yep Midsommer it is, so many peeps are telling us to watch it, gonna have to :)
Also Jalloween sounds like a badass version of Halloween And we’d like to attend. 😂
boys this was supposed to be scary but I just spent the better part of an hour laughing. the gasps of terror are taking me out omg.
This movie was toooooo much lol
The jokes help a ton.
Also im definitely subscribing your reaction was really funny to watch but also really good I watched this with my mom and we both liked it but the scariest part to me in the movie is the dinner scene where the mother is yelling it genuinely scared me since you could see her start to spiral after the death of Charlie
Oh yea the scene that really got me was when she was standing over his bed and suddenly you realize they are both covered in paint thinner, horrifying
You know, if you look at this from Queen Leigh’s pov, this movie had a happy ending. Leigh was able to use all of her family in order to achieve her goal and it was a successful possession. Leigh and Joan are heroes, depending on your pov. Lol
That’s honestly funny 😄
Great reaction! At the dinner table scene where Annie was saying Peter wouldn't admit what he did and all he did was sit there with that "face on his face," it's probably because when she looked at him she saw the same grinning face he saw when he looked at himself in the glass at school. You should check out Midsommar. It's a different kind of disturbing.
I read this comment to Jacob and we both got chills, that’s a freaky take on that scene!! Well done 👍🏻
@@ReelReviewHQ I can't take credit for it. I got it from another comment on another reaction. It just makes so much sense I had to share it.
All in all, still creepy as Hell :))
This movie makes me laugh when I think of it, simply because of my 16 yr old daughters reaction when we watched it not long ago. She was doing ok up until the mum was hanging out in the ceiling corner after Peter woke from his nap and then mum scuttling/floating past behind him. She let out a big, horrified "NOPE!!" and exited the room like Paimon himself was after her 😂😂😂😂😂
Yea I about pooped myself during that scene!!
i LOVED seeing your reactions to this one!!! i hateeee horror movies, they trigger my paranoia something fierce, but seeing it with you guys (scaring each other just as much as the film scared you) absolutely made it more bearable to sit through haha!! i cannot handle broken noses, i think that moment where the son smashed his nose was one of the most upsetting moments in any piece of media for me. loved to hear your thoughts!!!
Im glad we could help! Yea you know what’s crazy!? We heard that the actor who played Peter Alex Wolff, actually broke his nose doing that scene!!!
@@ReelReviewHQ that's INSANE!!!! his dedication to the performance really shows. if you want a fun movie that he also stars in, i GOTTA recommend M. Knight Shyamalan's Old!
There is a 2002 film called "Darkness" with Anna Paquin and Lena Olin that I think was a big influence on this film.
See if some of your viewers would like the same review of this zombie flick
Loving your reactions guys, keep up the grand work and will look forward to more of your jump scares.
100% gonna force Jacob to watch more scary movies lol, we are both babies though, Lucien as always, you are a stud 😎
@@ReelReviewHQ haha love it, poor Jacob though, awww you're not babies, if you're not use to horror, you're doing brilliant so far. I will think of some horrors to get you scared 🤭🤭. And thank you, from one one stud to another.
Loved the talk at the end of the movie ! New sub !
Thank you so much Rebeca!
Now watch Martyrs (2008) for the final form transformation. It's free on tubi~ 🤗
Gonna have to check it out, thank you so much for giving us the time of day and watching a movie with us!!
the best description I've read for this crazy shit was:
"how can you show a sacrificial lamb story better than from the point of view of the lambs" 👹
That makes me feel some type of way And I don’t like it 😂
@@ReelReviewHQ
I saw this in the theater and it scarred me for days lol.
But what a great movie and great acting all around.. & your guys’ analysis is spot on 👍
Yea randomly one of my kids started doing the “tongue click” thing, and I’m pretty sure my soul left my body lmao
Enjoyed your reaction and banter. Glad I came across this, new sub!!
Thanks 🙏 a lot, we do like to talk lol 😂 maybe to much
It's fun(?) watching reactors having the same reaction to the pole scene that I had. Watching this movie I was convinced I was seeing an instant horror classic.
Yea truly next level horror!
You guys are great, the first time I’ve laughed at a reaction to this movie lol keep it up!!
Thank you so much!!! We certainly will! Glad you enjoyed and thank you for watching with us!
Haha
Ok literally lighting the sage now that’s DARKSIDED!!!!!! lol
"Deliver Us from Evil" 2014 is the first biblical horror to remind me of "The Exorcist"...since "The Exorcist".
or, if you can't:
"Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" 1948
Biblical horror is really I think the only horror genre that really freaks me out!! lol
Lol, you guys started spooky season full throttle. Cheers for the mention and sorry if this caused a bit of trauma 😂 Loved the reaction.
Since it's spooky season I'd like to suggest you watch The Taking of Deborah Logan!! 😁
Fun reaction! 💯
She did seem so sweet, until she wasn’t lol
45:36 this was the cutest reaction to a jump scare I’ve ever seen 😂
lol I’m glad our collective terror can be cute 😂 thanks for watching along with us!!
Nah. The Exorcist is what changed me, man. I'm 44 and I STILL have a nightmare with that thing in it.
Dude I still have her crab walking down the stairs etched into my brain.. nightmare fuel
Amazing reaction, you guys are underrated !👏🏼👏🏼
That’s so nice to say! Thank you!! Seriously
Haven’t seen the movie. Want to see the movie. Scared to see the movie. All in all. IM SCARED 😱
Fully enjoyed this reaction. Hereditary is a hell of a film. If you want to get even weirder Ari Aster's follow up Beau is Afraid is definitely worth a watch!
i love you guys. immediately got hooked with your reaction and laughed quite a lot :D
That’s amazing, 🤩 glad we clicked, let’s all go to a haunted house!
I’d love to recommend Midsommar and The Autopsy of Jane Doe. For a fantastic horror comedy I’d recommend Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Brilliant and fun!
For sure Midsommer! That’s on the list. Thank you so much for the Recommendations!!
I never hear/see anyone placing blame on the parents for Charlies death. The 2 times we've seen her outside the house (apart from the school_ she hasn't had her Epipen, which means it probably a regular occurrence
Yea you know if my kid had a deadly nut allergy, I would carry epipens by the dozen on a bandolier 😂
Never will I ever pass up a Hereditary reaction when I find one.
Great cold open. It’s about to make me go through your videos and find more stuff to watch. A subscribe, perhaps?
Alright you got me. Subscribbled
@Hey_Jamie love it :) thanks for watching and thanks for the sub! lol Jacob and I are definitely gonna have to do Terrifier, although I can tell it’s gonna be a freaky one ha!

She scared the poop right outta me lol 😂
Oh man you guys had me laughing out loud throughout this entire reaction. The Dave Grohl dude making the other dude jump with his reactions was priceless 😆

@@ReelReviewHQ unbelievable acting. Had me in tears multiple times from the raw emotion she was able to display, hats off to her fs.
u guys are so much fun to watch this with!! i hope youll consider ari’s other film “midsommar” if you havent watched already. “talk to me” is another great one as well that also deals with grief but under… different. circumstances lol.
sorry to do this to u jacob but its october!! i swear i dont not like you
Jacob says “why do you wanna hurt me!!??” I say midsommer is 100% on the list even if we have to drag Jacob kicking and screaming 😂 you are awesome!
If you haven’t seen a foreign horror film i definitely suggest the 1970s Italian movie suspria that one uses color so well and for a 1970s horror movie it’s genuinely really good
Great reaction to true tension horror. The sort of thing that lets your imagination do half the work, so makes it 1 million times worse
A bit of geekdom here for you to help settle your mind
The lore regarding Paimon in this is nearly spot on.
Oh 100% adds to the creepy factor, Paimon is a lil weirdo lmao, thanks so much for watching with us, and for this awesome info! You are awesome 🤩!
That paint thinner nightmare scene really got me when I first saw this and stuck with me for quite a while
Yea I’d have to say Bye bye to wifey if she accidentally almost burned my children alive
I can’t wait for your channel to get bigger
One day at a time, but it’s because of y’all that we grow, thank you so much for watching with us!!!
The real reason the movie is called Hereditary is because her head, it teary off.
Put a dollar in swear jar for that one ☝️ lol 😂
Just found you guys, such a great team and comments! KEEP GOING
Oh you absolutely rock!!
Thank you! It legit sat with us for days after watching, and randomly one of my kids starting doing the “tongue click” thing and I just about died lol
So the scene where Peter slams his face on his desk…well there was a cushion 43:33 on it and the actor Alex thought it would be extra soft so when he was slamming his face he actually broke his nose 😭 he’s reaction is genuine probably like dang that hurt 😂
Alex Wolff is such a stud, absolutely killed it!!
that's the first video I saw from u guys and even the movie is scary asfuckkkk, I still laughed with u both, damn... hahahah just subscribed
That’s so nice!! We hope to keep the train going, got any recommendations?
Would love to see you guys watch Legally Blonde!! It’s a great lighthearted feel good movie and super funny but a lot of men won’t give it a chance because it’s a “chic flick”.. Mean Girls would also be a good watch!
Legally blonde is a brilliant choice, Jacob nods in agreement!! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
Now watch Midsommar 😊
Finally worked myself up to watch this with you guys. I like scary movies but I heard this one was really bad. And, yeah, holy shit. Might need to rewatch a twilight react because what the hell was that loca???? 😂
Yea Char, this one scarred us lol. 😂

Thank you so much, seriously! More coming for sure, my wife was just saying K movies have the most unique stories! Gonna have to check that out! Thanks for the rec!!
Jerry Seinfeld: “Hey! To-nay!”
Like why?
Yea Tbh if I stub my toe in my house I’m taking my wife and kids and leaving immediately, I ain’t waiting to find out what’s next, nuh uh, no siree!
@@ReelReviewHQ Save yourselves!!!
@@ReelReviewHQ like you said, getting older sucks. Even the tings that scare us change.
Bingo
First time seeing y'all. Great reaction. Subscribed. Have y'all seen the Conjuring movies?
Conjuring is 100% on the list
Some underrated horror gems! Saint maude, the dark and the wicked, skinamarink, you are not my mother, men
I’m going to deep dive that list, thank you for that!! Which ones your favorite?
@@ReelReviewHQ my favs from the list are prob the dark and the wicked and your are not my mother. Dark and the wicked is a story about siblings returning to the family farm and strange things start to happen. You are not my mother is an Irish film, it’s like a cool different take on the changeling folklore but the acting is so unsettling and creepy it’s great
Wait!? Is that the one where the mom has bandages on her face or am I thinking of something else?
@@ReelReviewHQ that’s goodnight mommy!! Which is an Austrian horror, also amazing
Ok I think we might have to do both of those, great Recommendations! Did Hereditary give you a similar visceral reaction as it did with us?
@@ReelReviewHQ I'm a coward so I've only seen reactors watch it🫣 but even then, still horrifying

I found yall from the Twilight reaction. Loved the VVITCH reaction and now I subbed because I LOVE this movie. If you want to keep up with Spooktober here's a list of scary movies I recommend! The one's with the exclamation are the ones I HIGHLY suggest.
Psycho/Thriller:

Monsters R Us:
Nope
A Quiet Place Part 1 & Part 2
A Quiet Place: Day One
Ghosts & Demons:
Talk to Me (!)
The Black Phone (!)

Hereditary :)
Midsommar

That is so freakin sweet, he sounds awesome!
PLEASE WATCH SOMETHING LIGHT NEXT but still good! NIMONA!! (animation ) or retro horror like Poltergeist!
Yea we can’t wait to watch something lighthearted, this spooky season stuff ain’t for us lmao!!!
Your faces at the end 😂😂😂 classic
The faces of broken spirits lol 😂
Happy? Okay do Rosemary’s Baby next.
Aww, Jacob doesn’t like horror? You guys should check out the Terrifier movies. The name is off-putting, don’t let it fool you. They’re a family-fun time! 🙃
Good reaction! Definitely subbing. Trick‘r Treat is a good one to get in the Halloween spirit
Thanks a million for the sub, means the world! Love this time of year, but gosh I’m a baby when it comes to scary movies lol
Love your reactions! If you haven’t seen it, highly recommend Coco as a Pixar recommendation. Especially with the Day of the Dead coming up.
Thank you so much!! Coco sounds like a welcome respite after the harsh unforgiving Hereditary lol 😂
You think this is a hard watch? Try reacting to "Irreversible" or "Salò, or The 120 Days of Sodom." You'll miss how light-hearted Hereditary was.
If those make hereditary seem lighthearted, than I’m scared lol
Y'all need to watch Midsommar now, naturally.
On its way “I say reluctantly and scared” lol
I just realized…Charlie decapitated the bird & then….
True, so much foreshadowing in this film, We never felt safe to take a breath! Thanks for watching!
Moral of the story: Bring an epipen.
Hell, I’m going to start bringing an Epipen wherever I go, and I don’t even have an allergy!!
If only they weren’t $700+ with a very short shelf life!
@@Hey_Jamie and if you didn’t have to sacrifice your first born to afford an ambulance 🫠
@@Dan-Bthank gos in the second born!
I'd like to see _Lego Hereditary_ ...
That would actually be pretty funny
subbed! you guys are fun to watch hahahaha
Thank you so much!!
