The last time I was in Scotland, I rode the train used for Hogwart's Express. It is actually called The Jacobite and it takes you and a day trip to the coast. Along the way, it stops at the little station used in the movie. I also visited Alnwick Castle North of England that is used for many of the outdoor Hogwart's scenes.

They kinda look at physical injuries different than us because they can repair broken bones with a simple wave of a wand or potion, so it’s not as detrimental to them. You’ll see a bit more of that in the next movie. Though it is a running joke in the fandom how ridiculously dangerous Hogwarts is for a school

I am loving your reactions guys, but seeing you blame Bella for Jacob's emotional blackmail is so frustrating... She does love him, just not in the romantic way that he wants (DEMANDS) from her. At that moment in the mountains, when he finds out that she is engaged, he once more acts as if she is doing something bad for just loving (and marrying) another man, a man that she has been telling him that she loves through now three movies. He refuses to get the memo, he refuses to accept her choices, and that is fully on him. In that scene, He gets all worked up and directly threatens to do something silly and put himself in harm's way. Bella, as selfless (excessively selfless) as she is, tries to just tell him whatever it is that he wants to hear (that she loves him, that she wants him to kiss her, etc), just to stop him from doing anything silly. He is literally blackmailing her; "You either love me and choose me or I don't know what I will do". Bella is just desperately trying to appease him in order to protect him. Hearing your harsh criticism of her while you completely ignore Jacob's wrongdoing is so heartbreaking... This is all definitely more fleshed out in the books, but still, it is clear enough in the film too...

I’ve played a LOT of Silent Hill, and I’ve always really enjoyed this movie for the way it nails the vibe. I even understand why they made the choices for the film that aren’t consistent with the games, because at the time they prob thought there would only be one opportunity to make a SH movie. The sequel is pretty bad, I don’t recommend as it’s more of a schlocky cash-grab…but I am interested in the upcoming SH2 movie adaptation. Subbed, you guys have great banter and the intros are top notch!

I find it frustrating when people make Bella the bad guy with Jacob. He had a hard time following boundaries and she drew the line multiple times. She's ina very vulnerable place and needs a friend and the whole time he's looking for a way in.

You will love the film series. The child actors grow up and into their roles. The adult characters are played by a veritable Who’s Who of stellar British actors. As others have mentioned, the stories grow more complex and darker as Harry & Co. age. Enjoy!!

Yes there are other official magic schools! Hogwarts is in Scotland &1 of 3 schools in Europe. The kids that attend are from England, Scotland, Ireland, that area. Bauxbatons is in France & kids are typically from that area, such as France, Spain, Greece, Italy. Durmstrang is the military style European school. It's in Bulgaria. (Later is a thing you'll see called the Tri Wizard Cup, where the 3 European schools have a competition every so many years. It had been suspended for years for being too dangerous, but gets brought back with a new condition that only age 17 & up, the seniors, can enter.) There are 11 wizard schools total worldwide. Only 1 for North & South America combined, called Ilvermorny, as it was created after Europeans started immigrating to America. Some Native Americans go there, but typically they learn at home in their own tribes like they did before. Wizard parents worldwide aren't required to send their kids to wizard boarding school, but varying wizard governments collect taxes for running their schools & recommend them as it typically gives a better overall education by having teachers that excell in different areas of magic. Parents home-schooling are likely not going to be able to cover as many subjects, but still some feel they need to keep their kids at home for some reason & can just send sworn statements saying they will homeschool. Also there's the socialization factor, as unless they're in an all-wizard town there aren't going to be many other wizard kids to play with. Keeping wizard society a secret is the biggest factor. The middle ages & after that showed that muggles scared of magic can turn dangerous. Even after secrecy laws were enacted, bad things occasionally happened. It's not explained in the movies, but for background: Dumbledore's younger sister fell victim to a muggle attack as a little girl. The Dumbledores had 2 boys then a girl. The girl wasn't old enough for wizard school, only 5-6, but had started doing spontaneous magic like Harry did at the zoo. They lived in a regular town & teens that lived nearby saw her & beat her until brain damaged & almost dead. Mr Dumbledore lost emotional control at the sight of his nearly dead daughter & used magic to kill her attackers. Since that could've led to exposing wizards everywhere, wizard government sent him to prison, modified memories of townsfolk, & his wife moved herself & the kids to a wizard town. But Dumbledore's little sister never recovered. Between physical brain damage & emotional trauma, she became an "obscurious", a wizard child whose magic is locked inside until it explodes outward uncontrolled. So she never went to school & most people forgot about her existence. The explosions can hurt others & usually kills the child. She didn't die though, but accidentally killed her mom. Dumbledore's brother became her guardian. Later as a teen she dies because she gets in between Dumbledore & someone else fighting, as never being schooled in magic she really didn't understand how dangerous it was to jump into a fight like that. Dumbledore's massive guilt not only includes that he didn't watch out for her enough but also that there's a 50% chance it was him that killed her.

In the book they lose the 50 points each because they were meeting Ron’s brother’s friends to send the dragon away so Hagrid wouldn’t get in trouble. Also it wasn’t the trio m, it was Hermione and Neville who go to detention with Harry. Ron was in the hospital wing, because he was bitten by Haggrid's baby dragon, Norbert. Malfoy was there because he had gone to the hospital wing to visit Ron, pretending to lend a book from him, and he took the book that had Ron‘s brother Charlie's letter in it, saying when they where getting rid of Norbert. So Malfoy got caught by professor McGonagall being out of bed, and so did Neville Longbottom, because he had heard Malfoy talking about how he would catch Harry with an illegal dragon.

The first year at Hogwarts is 11 years old. School is for 7 years, and people in the wizarding world are considered adults at 17. Cheers (TV Series 1982-1993) "Where everybody knows your name." You guys should watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968) if you like whimsical. The quidditch rules given to Harry are not exactly correct. Catching the Golden Snitch is required to end the game and the team whose seeker catches it is given 150 points which most likely will let them win. The cloak of invisibility is not simple and it was borrowed from Harry's father and thus returned to the family by giving it to Harry. You know Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall are from Gryffindor?

The first time i encountered Harry Potter was when book 3 came out and there was an acticle in the paper about 'the Potter phenomenon' my husband asked me what it was all about and i didnt know. We were on a ship at the time and when in the book shop i asked a girl which was the first book so I bought it for my husband. He read it and said 'good story, first bits a little childish but it picks up' I then read it and was hooked. Immeditely bought 2 & 3 and then had a year and a half agonizing wait for book 4. 1 & 2 are more child orientated but it starts to get dark from book 3. My favorite book is Half Blood Prince but favorite film is Prisoner of Azkaban.

Typical of the majority of commenters about the end. When Griffendore, at the time of points were being announced you said... they lost 150 points because of Draco... McGonagall only gave Draco detention, because she unlike Snape only takes points from other houses... like fist lesson he took points from Harry for "cheek". Dumbledore knows how Snape treats Harry... and which he obviously knows everything that happens in the castle. After the life Harry had, y'all still get stupid about the trios accomplishment and reward, considering 3 fist year students did what a grown Wizard accomplished? 🤔

Regarding the House Cup, in the book Slytherin had won it for the last 9 years. That’s why the other houses were cheering. More for Slytherin losing than for Griffindor winning.
