    Love my Savage bolt rifles but they do have a tendency to rust if you don't keep them well coated. Hopefully they do a better job coating these, since backpacker type guns are tough to keep heavily greased when on the move.
    Thanks for the video! Hadn't even heard of this one before, looks pretty good.

I hunt small game and the accuracy is more than good enough for that. A good rabbit slayer. I am a little confused which is not unusual. Are you saying that the zero moved a quarter to half inch after you broke down the rifle? is that to be expected
    every time ?

    • @scotteger6271
      @scotteger6271 Рік тому

      Yes the zero point can move because the barrel was removed and the scope is mounted to the receiver. That’s why there are scour type mounts for the Ruger, which mount an optic to the barrel, thus not causing a zero shift. The only downside to the Ruger scout style mount is, you’d have to pick an optic that isn’t dependent on eye relief, like a red dot. The shift is minimal…I had a Ruger takedown for years with a red dot on it and it reliably and repeatedly hit targets after disassembly/reassembly.

    Did they rip off the Magpul stock for the Ruger 10/22 or is it licensed/collab/etc?

    Slightly disappointed, not with your video, it was great as always. I was hoping that the forend would click into the notch in the buttstock like the magpul backpacker and i couldn't tell if it could take ruger mags but it doesn't look like it does. Be alot cooler if it did 😎

      The A22 has existed for quite some time and they take their own proprietary magazines.

    Sad that Savage would just mimic a 10/22 with a magpul stock... not ready for innovating, or just lazy?

    savage a22 is a piece of crap...i got me a new one...40 rounds through it before the handle on the charging piece broke off,,,several jams prior to that, and is not accurate, and several rounds would not even fire...i wont be buying any more savages...
