@@kylenye1228Have you seen the 2025 8R that comes in black and grey? It looks amazing. The fairing from the front actually looks like a H2, (well, at least that’s what crossed my mind the moment I saw it). Personally I like twin engines, (currently riding a 1000cc V-twin). I saw a video of a guy who replaced the muffler and his 8R suddenly had that twin roar. While a little low on HP, I really like this bike. I just bought this yesterday. Upgraded from a 2012 Ninja 650. It has a ton more power than my Ninja. I'm fully enjoying it so far. Even though I'm still in the break-in period. My only gripes are, no cruise control, and the inability to put a slip-on installed without replacing the full exhaust. Other than that, amazing upgrade for me, and an amazing bike. Got a 3 year, unlimited mile warranty for mine too, that allows mods.
Rode the 8S last year and it was one of the most fun bikes I've ridden in a long time. It's the fun of riding a slower bike fast. Plenty of torque down low where you're going to use it on the street without the need to rev the bike to the moon to get it moving. I think this bike and others like it are going to take over track days and club racing the same way the SV650 did 20+ years ago. The more experienced among you know what I'm talking about.
It's selling super well because in the UK you get 4.9% APR, 0 deposit required. It's 130 pounds a month on PCP for 3 years. That's cheaper than council tax. Also in the UK suzuki offer 7-year/ 70,000 mile warranty. I'd say suzuki UK is a bit of an exception.

Interesting motorcycle but the price is too high. Here in Czech republic this GSXR is only 500 bucks cheaper then RS660 or Daytona 660. CBR650 is 300 bucks cheaper. Tuono costs pretty much the same. It needs to be at least 600 bucks cheaper here.
Great review. Loved it. Can’t wait for more. I have the 8S. Thinking of trading when the 8R gets here. The quick shifter; first it does soften with a couple or three thousand kms and secondly you have missed the point. The bike is designed to be ridden at 3-7000 rpm and is exciting in that range. As you said you ride in a higher gear, shift at 7000 even in a hurry. That means you change down at lower revs too. Change down at 3-5,000 rpm and it is smooth and easy, after 2-3000 km of riding. You can even change down with some power on. And if you are holding revs dead constant, always use the clutch up and down. Suzuki missed that memo.
First it's the 700s, now it's the 800s, I'm wondering if we'll see twin cylinder 900s next, return of the CBR900 and ZX-9R? I can imagine Yamaha doing an R9 based on the MT-09 tbh
I really hate parallel twins. Don't know why. Love the L-twin of the sv650. But the parallel twin is just not for me. I4 or L or V for me. But if I2* is not for me.
I rode that bike back to back with the 8S. The 8S is snappier as the S750 makes its torque higher u the rev range. On the S750 you have to wait or change down. Can't argue the top end, but you will seldom get the Hp to the road as after a gear change or two you will be going too fast. The 8R has more accessible and sharper power, despite the numbers.
Michelin, just this year, released the power 6. I dont have much experience on different tires, but i am absolutely loving these. Coming off of worn Dunlop Q3 (i think) these handle and grip like a dream for my SV1000s. Id like to see you do a review on them. I think they would pair well with that gsx8r.
Side comment is that a house on your left at 21:32 wow it looks amazing. Also, thanks for the review. As a 50+-year-old 6 foot tall semi-fat man who's ridden cruisers all his life, I want a sport bike, not a hyper bike, but something faster than a cruiser, more sporty, but comfortable for my old iron butt. Would this bike suit me or will I look like a walrus out of water?
I had a 2013 Suzuki Gladius (the ugly duckling SV650 clone/variation) as my first bike. Loved it a lot, especially as a first bike. I put a ton of custom work into it after crashing it the first time and surprisingly made it beautiful. I thank that bike for giving me my first riding experiences and full bike tear-down/rebuild experience. Going by how you describe your experiences on that GSX8R, and how it sounds and appears to accelerate and it's gear ratio's, it honestly just seems as if Suzuki just pumped out a renewed full-faired SV650. Which isn't bad at all, in fact, the SV650 is an extremely coveted bike by all racers, from amateur to pro. Practically universally known as the ultimate starting/beater track bike. Glad to see Suzuki still competing well.
As a Suzuki technician, I have assembled a lot of bikes. Most of them, in the past year, are the V-STROM 650. And recently I had the opportunity to assemble a very beautiful looking GSX-8R and I immediately told the guys at the sales department that I want it. However I'm having a tough decision of weather buying the 8R because of the looks , speed and price, or get the V-STROM 650 because I want to do up to 13 hours trips
All these top vloggers highly rate this bike. Not a single bad review so far. It's not surprising seen as it has all the looks, price point, and perfect combination of street+track ready abilities and can easily be modded specifically for either or type of riding. It's going to be my first middleweight bike. It's the only one that I like the look of too. I commute daily weather permitted. Will retire my beginner bikes to start with the track until I find my next bike (either for track or commuting).
I really wanted to like this bike, but that handlebar setup is a deal breaker for me. It looks like Suzuki wanted to save money and reuse the triple tree from the GSX-8S. So instead of raised clip-ons, they just bolted the handlebars onto where the bar riser would be. I'm sticking with my beloved GSX-R750 😊
Great review as always. Thanks for that. I think I'm going to purchase the 8R. I'm getting rid of my Gen 1 1290 Superduke. That was a stupid purchase. Too big, too powerful, too fast. I'm too old and small to control it in the slightest. Anyway, I can't get past the looks of the MT09, so is there anything else I should seriously consider in the price range of the 8R?
68yo. Recently gave my Ducati Diavel to one of my boys and bought an 8R. For me it's a Goldilocks bike that I expect will see me out. Suzukis last well. Got the heated grips, USB and my pre-order deal included the saddlebags free. I'm happy.
So I've had mine a couple of weeks now. I really hope they expand this platfrom. Maybe a 650 and a 1000 version. The ergonomics are so good. That might be my favorite part.
Cool bike, helpful review, thanks. The yellow/black, really nice IMO. 12:17 A fully faired bike with aggressive looks, but fun and comfortable to ride on roads, like the Ninja 650 and 500. Agreed.
TST Industries seems to have taken these Suzuki 8Rs up a notch. I wonder after all the aftermarket add ons it will put the price in the RS660 range. Although Suzuki is known to run forever and Aprilia not so much. Maybe tailoring the 8R to the individual rider's needs with an aftermarket flash is the way to go.
Good for you. I pulled the trigger on the 8R in Suzuki Blue. Just beautiful!!! Will be my last bike as well I'm sure. Nothing else is needed. Ride safe and enjoy!
I honestly love this bike and suzuki but I feel suzuki missed the mark by sticking a twin in this…I’ve been looking for a possible alternative to the MT09/Z900 because I would like a windscreen but this thing is really underpowered…hopefully they make a bigger version with the GSXR750 engine or something 😭
You need some time to know how to properly use the QS especially to shift down.. Read the manual.. There is specific speed & rpm to down shift smoothly.
Dude, is your QS mode even on? Quick shifting down is perfect all the way down into 1st. Quick shifting up without load is snatchy front 1st to 2nd, after that, it’s perfect. Was QS displayed on the dash? If it’s new, more than likely, it’s not on.
I just bought one of these, and felt that your video was great. I heard you say that you ordered an exhaust for the bike. What did you order? I want to get one as well, but don't want to have to tune it after. Also, any suggestions on seats? The stock seat is not very comfortable and hits some of the pressure points, but I want to be able to ride this thing for more than a half hour without pain
Looks like a nifty platform, but for the price, I’d have expected at least partially adjustable suspension, and a bit more HP. That being said however, I’m sure it will put a grin on more than a few faces.
Nice review. I bought one! If you, in the general sense, can get past your ego, it's all the road bike you need. It's a great all round package but I wouldn't personally be looking to go to the track on it any time soon. However, I don't intend to so not an issue for me personally. Only complaint as you say so far is rhe QS is a bit rough on downshift's but based on the other owners comments, it does loosen up & get better with use over time supposedly.
Make sure you check out our NEW MERCH at yammienoob.co ! You'll get entered to win this bike too :)

2:12 is it an optical illusion or does that swingarm look pretty beat up for a new bike?
I have 8s and have nearly 3000 miles on it and love it, my quick shifter works great up and down so not sure what the issue is with your 8r.
My first video to watch of yours but that looks close to SA Tx where my parents live.
Got mine back in February, I’ve been loving it.
Glad I got a gsx-s750 with 30 more HP, 4 cylinder motor gets the sound of a big sport bike. Only down fall is I wish I had those fairings
@@paulconnell1309 maybe stock in your opinion but my bikes flashed an it’s a world of difference
Day 3 of ownership and Im in love already. Get one if you can. So much power!
Best review of this bike yet on the internet!
I just walked pass this bike 3 minutes ago in a dealership haha
Buy a zx6 lol.
The rs660 making 20 more hp makes it special already
All these top vloggers highly rate this bike. Not a single bad review so far. It's not surprising seen as it has all the looks, price point, and perfect combination of street+track ready abilities and can easily be modded specifically for either or type of riding. It's going to be my first middleweight bike. It's the only one that I like the look of too. I commute daily weather permitted. Will retire my beginner bikes to start with the track until I find my next bike (either for track or commuting).
he "bought it with his own money" and giving it away for free! some kinda catch 22 involved with this bike
@@BoxingLegends2024 Catch 22 is that it really isn't free because you pay to subscribe for chances to enter into the pot.
Totally hypnotized at the end .... Must Own Busa!
Im glad to see yammie be honest in this review. I honestly thought he was just going berate this bike from start to finish undeservingly. 😂
I'm taller and fatter and this bike dosen't make me look stupid. Super comfy. Also sold it to me for 8800 not sure why but so excited to pick it up.
It's really quite similar to my '05 650cc Bandit, which has the same relaxed sport ergos, makes about 79 hp, and weighs about 480 lbs.
The yellow appeals to me both for reasons of visibility and aesthetics.
Q: how much performance do you gain by "flashing" the computer system?
Check out TFT Industries.
Some of the racers are getting 100hp.
But remember track power is often not what you want on the street.
Dude, you’ve done at least two videos on this bike and still not a word about wind protection or the comfort of the seat. . .
I'm happy.
As a rider getting older and getting more pings in places for no reason other than age, the comfort of the bike is what is really selling me on this.
So I've had mine a couple of weeks now. I really hope they expand this platfrom. Maybe a 650 and a 1000 version. The ergonomics are so good. That might be my favorite part.
Just bought myself one as my first bike you convinced me can’t wait to drop it
The headlight/front fairing/ram air is gorgeous just like previous gixxers
Specs wise it’s a newer updated FZ6R with a tad bit more power
I’d love to see you get a exhaust and tune on it😊
Yammie, why do you ride on the right tire track in the right lane usually?
Was that a cyber truck at 10:30 ?
I honestly love this bike and suzuki but I feel suzuki missed the mark by sticking a twin in this…I’ve been looking for a possible alternative to the MT09/Z900 because I would like a windscreen but this thing is really underpowered…hopefully they make a bigger version with the GSXR750 engine or something 😭
The Xsr900 GP might be worth considering, it's basically an mt09 with fairings and clipons
@@tomuxs13 I’ll check that out thank you!
You need some time to know how to properly use the QS especially to shift down.. Read the manual.. There is specific speed & rpm to down shift smoothly.
the quichshift down works ok, if you ad just a little bit of throttle. not to say thats good. but that way it works
Dude, is your QS mode even on? Quick shifting down is perfect all the way down into 1st. Quick shifting up without load is snatchy front 1st to 2nd, after that, it’s perfect.
Was QS displayed on the dash?
If it’s new, more than likely, it’s not on.
Thanks for such an informative video. Making my decision on buying one this week. Moving from DR 650.
I have ridden most of super sports bikes but hey this is the one of the most comfortable bike and has plenty of power to tick the boxes
This, or the Daytona 660 or the Aprilia RS 660? Help
Waiting on that ninja 500 review!!!
What a beautiful bike my goodness I really love the color as well happy riding Papa yam
Why can't Suzuki just give us a new 600?
So which middleweight bike do you think is the best? (GSX 8R included): R7, Cbr650, RS660
What kind of cruise control are you planning on fitting to this bike?
Yammie we are waiting to hear from you on recent aprilia released RS457!!! I hope we'll see asap at your channel....!!
