Two questions Sir. One, were there any issues fitting cardo to the Ruroc Track? Two, since most everyone (self included) are getting the 4RR flashed, where would you compare it in same class of 650, R7, GXSR8, etc.?
I think this is one of the best looking bikes to come out. Everyone wants to go balls to the wall all the time but if you’re not going to the track, these bikes are perfect for commuting and day trips to the twisties. Some people need to understand the usability of their bikes and their skills. As far as commuter bikes this thing looks sick and would be perfect. The other bikes that you have to ring out through the rpm’s aren’t fun because it’s rare that you actually get to ride at the limits of those bikes and if you do you’re risking losing your license and your ability to ride. I love to push it but I love to enjoy the ride more. I’m really stoked with bikes becoming more street oriented than these track missles that you barely get to leave second gear without committing felonies and risking losing it all.
Personally I don’t like the fact that it looks disproportionately heavy on the front compared to the rear, I think the new cbr650r does the same job but looks way cooler. To be fair I’ve never been a fan if Suzuki’s design choices so maybe it’s just me
Suzuki always waits to play their cards, and it always pays off. The entire new line up is stellar and im hoping they slap this tech on the other GSXRs. A new 750/1000 with that dash and QS would dominate the market.
If they put this tech on the gsxr600/750. It would be the best selling bike instantly. I have a 2012 gsxr600 and an update is needed tech wise or at least give us the options.
since they released the suzuki gixxer 150 back in 2015-2016 in india, suzuki has been doing a great job, but they only thing they lack is a 400-500 cc bike in the market
6:34 the yellow black reminds me of the gsx-r bikes that had yellow and with chrome wheels, looks really sporty but that gsxs style rider triangle looks good and comfy. Reminds me of the gsxs-1000s
I have always had naked bikes and really appreciate Japanese machines but never had a Suzuki (on the road). Test road a GSX-8r this morning due to the amazing reviews and the looks. Ordered one as soon as I got back. It’s just so nice and I feel like it will do everything that I want. Clever Suzuki. 👍
For comfort I love my F-3S Spyder! The 1330 Rotax is plenty of power. After I had a stroke I thought my biking days were over. My balance is gone, but the 3 wheeler is awesome. I have been a biker my whole life and thought my ridding days were over! NOPE I’m back in the wind!!!

I know they've been doing them for years now but, I guess I'm still not used to the size changes they done on motorcycles. It used to be for decades everything was in 1/8 or 1/4 liter I.E. 50, 80, 125, 250, 350, 400, 450, 500, 600, 650, 750, 1000. I guess now they filled in all the gaps with 300, 390, 636, 700, 800, 900, etc. I'm sure I missed several sizes as I don't follow motorcycles as much as I did years ago. I still ride but, only have the old school RD400 and new XR150L. The XR is actually fund to ride in my 60's. My last sport bike was an '05 Buell XB12 SCG which handled really great in my opinion considering it didn't have top shelf suspension parts. Had so much torque I could do a dead stopped 5th gear burnout at 3500 RPM.
Really, the numbering system in names meant little in real relation to engine size unless it was a race class with requirements. Otherwise, they were rounding up and down all the time.
@@ws8080 No, the numbers typically were related to the engine size but, the sizes were not rounded up and down like the modern bike. Someone else commented on it being because of emissions and I suppose I can buy that. They rarely had single digits to indicate engine sizes like GSX-8 or MT-7, MT-9 etc. They typically had the full size like 700 or 750. All I was pointing out is an observation for someone who has been riding for over 45 years that I'm not used to it since I don't follow bikes as much as I used to. I still ride but, I could care less about every new model that comes out like I did when I was younger.. My RD400 is not called an RD4 thankfully.
OC: man I was thinking 8S to level up into from my 390 Duke at the end of this riding season but I might cough up the extra pennies for the 8R. That yellow is insanely good looking and the overall package is just so complete looking. The kind of machine that you can go crazy with in the canyons and even do some longer distance riding but also ride to work/school calmly. Banger first ride as always ❤️
I was in a major chain (RideNow Powersports) US dealer a couple of weeks ago that had 8R's ($9439) but also discounted 2024 8S's for $6999. Depending on where you live you may be able to get a similar deal and while I think you should buy what you think is the best deal for you that's a pretty big price difference for a very similar bike.
Damn ppl actually are into these new slow and cheap (manufacturers costs to make these bikes) and biy it?? Buy a real supersport bike man com'on mane! Get a cbr600rr or r6 or anything in the 600cc supersports class. But if you really wanna get these new slow bikes for leaners licence and restrictions in your country then i recommend the cbr650r. Inline 4 that is smooth and you can actually WOT and still be under 100mph 😂 rather than this or a r7 or w.e thats in their competitors that are 2 cylinders that will vibrate your balls 😅
Chase, being a local to Georgia, and having followed your channel for a couple of years, I am excited to be able to purchase my first motorcycle this upcoming summer. Thank you for the constant, high-quality videos, that you put out always pushing me and keeping me interested in motorcycles. Will forever be a fan.
Nice bike! I love my 8S but might very well have gone for the 8R if it was available at my time of purchase. So many of the 8S/8R videos show people winding the engine out trying to get max performance so credit to you Chase identifying short shifting as the most efficient way to ride this bike.
I respectfully disagree with the Nice bike statement. The nose and headlights were simply pulled from the 8S and what worked good for the 8S does not work good for the 8R. Suzuki is known for some of the best iconic sport-bike headlights in the business from their GSXR series. In this case I see two flashlights glued into the black plastic that was extended down from the dash/odometer. The yellow does look nice though. If I were looking at purchasing this bike it would need to be the yellow color and I might be able to tolerate the head light failure. The rear stop light in the plastic fender is also a fail but that can be fixed with a tail tidy
Of course looks are subjective but I find it interesting how little details can make such a big difference. While I like the looks of the 8R I agree the stacked headlight setup looks better on the S model but absolutely hate how it looks on the GSX-S1000.@@zdwg3065
OC the 8r is the way to go vs 8s. That yellow is just so nice. It's a very nice bike and should be enjoyable for years to come. Great next bike I think
Also, lots of folks keep bringing up the lack of cruise control, but a company called Veridian is making one now, and it’s compatible with the factory heated grips too. Both are on my birthday wishlist for next year 👍🏻
One problem to me is the rear light. It is lower than it be if it was installed to tail of the bike. So this installation actually makes you less visible.
OC: The 8R sounds more in tune with what I want, but *damn* did I fall in love with the 8S look. I hope its the same for the 8R when i see it in person. Love these 2 bikes ❤
This is the exact bike I'm looking for. Something you can depend on for highway riding and a bike that is extremely comfortable. Priced pretty good too compared to something like an R7.
Wow, I was loving it until I looked up the weight 452 lbs. Seat height was good for me too at 31.9. I've been off my Ducati Super Sports S for almost two years now.
I have put over 60,000 miles on 600's and 1000cc sportbikes. Grab this bike, put a full akro on it, do the stage 2 airbox mod, get a tune, and go +2 on the rear sprocket. Your top speed should be around 130 and you will have the ultimate street hooligan bike that will beat most 600cc's till 130 mph, then they will overtake you. Enjoy poppin wheelies effortlessly with that 90 hp / 65 lb ft of torque if you have the proper setup.
Thank you Chase, Im looking for another bike for the garage and this is now at the top of my list. Kawasaki ninja 650 ergos with better power and sound. Im loving the yellow too.
Why can’t Suzuki have all these features like the tft display, abs, slipper clutch, quick shift up and down, etc. on the gsxr 600 and 750 especially the 2023 & 2024 year model? Since those bike cost at least $4k more 😔
Simple…if Suzuki made any significant changes to these 2 bikes they would loose the grandfathered statues they have on these bikes as far as emissions. It’s a legal matter…and an entire redesign would be needed in a class of bikes that is slowly going away….SUZUKI and others will not do it I have a 750 now
I got this yellow GSX-8R as well back in the spring and it’s an amazing bike. The problem is, the more I see the white/blue GSX-8S the more and more I want one, lol. Maybe as a stablemate one day 🤔
Yellow definitely my favourite colour for it. I will be interested to see what tail tidies come out for it, desperately needs it. Lack of cruise is a big missed opportunity. Everyone compares this to r7 but the cbr650r seems like the more direct competitor to me with the seating position, would be interesting to see a heads up review. Title for this should simply be “I’m here for it” with the amount of times you use that phrase lol
I really didn't like the headlights on the 8s, but the 8r looks cool af. Would personally get black, but the yellow also looks great. Just don't understand the grey wheels. The Windscreen, room for the aftermarket, a slightly higher tinted screen would look great. And I'm usually also tolerant to stock plate holders, but this one gotta go.
This bike in person looks fantastic, great detail, looks substantial and in no way cheap or budget. Oh and I’m glad to have watched this video because I was thinking of buying one but really wasn’t crazy about the “only 75 hp“. Good to hear that in your opinion it’s got really good power. I don’t need tons, but I own a Tuono V4 and a Ninja 400, the Tuono has way more power than I need, but the ninja 400 is not enough.
Having bike envy now that I just purchased one. Would’ve waited for this 😅 love the look of this bike. Seems like a good mix of comfort and a sporty style. I wanted the 8s but couldn’t stand the front end look. This is exactly what I was lookin for.
Like these new 800 platforms from Suzuki, but can't see myself upgrading from my (yellow) SV650 for a long while yet. Suzuki typically makes platforms to last, so I expect I'll have plenty of (slightly used) 8S, 8R, or 800DE, etc. to pick from when the time comes. Thanks for the review - everyone seems to think this engine is a winner, and that Suzuki is doing just enough tech at the price point to be successful. I hope so - my original bike is also a Suzuki (GSF400F Bandit from the 90s that I still have), so I'm a brand fan.
second in!, have been waiting for this review as well, that yellow looks faster than the blue, my second bike (a Buell Blast) was yellow and I dig the yellow
♥ Yes I would pay extra for the 8R. I love that Suzuki has nailed it with these 800 engines in all categories. The integrated windscreen, colors (yel/Blck my choice), lines etc. Bravo Suzuki!!! Great video btw! Waiting for the link to those gloves you're wearing.
I'd love to get my hands on one of those, I've just tested the new 800DE. I love the new engine, sooo smooth and Torqy TC to 1 and Curve to A for the road 😁. that body position reminds me of the old 90's suzuki GSXF across. awesome video mate.
I’ve never understood people saying 600 are aggressive I think the brands need to be rated. I daily my gsxr 600 and had a sv650s before and almost feel no difference. Now the R6 is aggressive for sure but I don’t think lumping all 600 together is the right way to say it because it’s not hard or bad to daily at all
Buddy, 600s are aggressive. They are purpose built race bikes. The clip on are below the triple tree. Unless you have arms like a gorilla you are going to lean over to ride one. The SV650s is nearly as bad. If you can ride one comfortably good for you. That just means you are the exception, not the norm. But most people can't ride one for an hr without wrist pains or back pains or both.
@@spartanx169xthat might be true for some. I’m 43 and have been riding sport bikes for 21 years. My Honda 1000RR is a great riding position. I do 300 mile trips here in Colorado all day long, I commute sometimes to work 65 miles a day for a 12 hour shift.
Finally a review with the yellow. If I were to get an 8r, it would definitely be yellow. Now im wondering if we’d be able to push these things to 100hp.
I saw a video on yt not too long ago where someone broke 100hp on the 8s with a tune/flash, intake, and exhaust. I’m excited to see more of these hit the streets
"You got cars cutting you off" he says as he squirts between two other cars into an intersection doing 61 in a 45 zone, thus being very hard to see and unexpectedly fast. If you ride like a knob, you run into a lot of problems. Weird how that happens.
That, this, and the Aprilia are on the list for my first non-beginner bike. I've got some months to figure it out and see more reviews. So far this 8R is on top but only because it's been reviewed more.
Suzuki already has a set of soft bags for this, but I'd like to see them design a set that can zip together and be worn like a backpack or carried like a duffel bag went off the bike. Beyond that, an 8GX would be cool (keep the cruise, use the suspension from the Strom RE, I will live without the hard bag attachments to keep it under $12K).
They’re definitely going to end up making a higher cc version of this. There’s talk of the r9, if Suzuki hits a near 1000cc version of this it would be a kingmaker
Remember watching you motovloging on your yellow Sv650S years ago and now riding the next-gen with the same banana colour is kinda cool. It’s like a jump in the future 😂
I’ve been internet arguing with people about value and they always complain... well new .... today I sat on one at Ride now beach blvd. down the row they have (1) 23 xsr900 - $8500, (4) 23 mt-09 - $7900 and (5) 23 mt-09 SP - $9500 SO YES THIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT IT IS.
This seems like a good evolution to the old Katana 750. Not a supersport, but had a full fairing and good ergos. It would be fun to see you compare them, if you can find one of the old 750s...
Yeah I want this bike, the Aprilia 660 is to expensive and this is basically the next best thing. I know the inline 4's are faster but honestly unless you do alot of driving on the interstate I don't really see how you can enjoy their powerbands, well without getting pulled over lol

Thank you Chase, Im looking for another bike for the garage and this is now at the top of my list. Kawasaki ninja 650 ergos with better power and sound. Im loving the yellow too.
Look no further 👍
Enjoyed this one.❤ let’s go 2024 first rides!
It’s a legal matter…and an entire redesign would be needed in a class of bikes that is slowly going away….SUZUKI and others will not do it
I have a 750 now
@@Purepresa Right on. Safe riding. I got the gsxr 600 too. Love it!
I was looking for a first bike and stumbled upon this from finding something I was comfortable with. I also loved the yellow color a lot!
I literally just bought this bike today same colorway and all from Mt Motorsport in Roswell really good service
I am very excited for this bike! My first bike was a 2004 SV650s, and this is a great replacement for it. ❤ - OC!
I’m looking at getting back into riding after 20 years. The sv650 was my top choice until I saw and sat on this today.
love the look of the 8R! can't wait to get one. ❤
Was waiting for this vid ❤
Never seen a GXR look so good
I got this yellow GSX-8R as well back in the spring and it’s an amazing bike.
The overall shape of the bike looks great.
And I'm also on the edge with the "clipons"
Thank you for the review. I’m loving my 2024 Suzuki GSX-8S! ❤
I made it to the end. ❤Sending my wife this video trying to convince her I should get this bike!❤ Nice vid!
Conflicted between this, the new cbr 600rr, the rs660 or the ducati v2 ❤️ going to be doing some track days too with a friend 🤷♂️
I have the GSX-8R, it’s my first bike - I don’t know how other brand bikes feel like but mine is perfect.
I thought nothing would sway me from the Ninja line, but this...this got me thinking of trading up.
Are you here for it? I’m here for it. Did you hear how here for it he is for it? ❤️
I think the colour yellow on this bike is absolutely gorgeous
I wouldn’t get it in any other colour
And I’m always partial to black
Im obsessed with the yellow but that blue was really pretty too 👀 ❤
Great Video! Just bought the Blue 8R today. delivery in a few days. Last bike was a 2003 Bandit 12S. Had to get back in after a 17 year hiatus. ❤
That’s awesome, the blue looks so good.
second in!, have been waiting for this review as well, that yellow looks faster than the blue, my second bike (a Buell Blast) was yellow and I dig the yellow
💛 My first car was yellow, my first Suzuki was also a yellow SV.
I have a yellow SV650 right now.....
I think I still like the V twin too much to upgrade to these new 800 platforms, but maybe someday.
@@ws8080I still have my SV it just is no longer yellow. Its a track bike now and the yellow parts have been retired for red ones for the HP boost.
I just bought one today!
I just got the gray/red version this week.
@@spartanx169xGSXR 600’s are not that bad lol. I rode for 5 hours straight on one last year and was perfectly fine
@@spartanx169xthat might be true for some. I’m 43 and have been riding sport bikes for 21 years. My Honda 1000RR is a great riding position. I do 300 mile trips here in Colorado all day long, I commute sometimes to work 65 miles a day for a 12 hour shift.
@@spartanx169x idk bro never been an issue over here and im def not an exception im your average size person
Been waiting for this vid!
I'm definitely going to have to go ride this bike.
Awesome review on this bike. Making me think about an 8R honestly❤
So different power plants but similar ergonomics. Which are you going with, the 8r or the gsx S1000gt??
Glad the R rides well, I'm considering it as a VFR replacement if bags and a touring screen start showing up on the aftermarket
Susuki: Great engine, great durability, great handling, awful looking 💯 Truly a Suzuki Masterpiece
"You got cars cutting you off" he says as he squirts between two other cars into an intersection doing 61 in a 45 zone, thus being very hard to see and unexpectedly fast.
If you ride like a knob, you run into a lot of problems. Weird how that happens.
Now we wait for the Triumph Daytona 660
That, this, and the Aprilia are on the list for my first non-beginner bike. I've got some months to figure it out and see more reviews. So far this 8R is on top but only because it's been reviewed more.
Great review on the GSX 8R❤
I work at a motorcycle delearship and suzuki just put a stop sale on the gsxr R for some mandatory recall on the chain.
Great review! 🧡
They’re definitely going to end up making a higher cc version of this. There’s talk of the r9, if Suzuki hits a near 1000cc version of this it would be a kingmaker
OC - Really hoping to see this engine in a DR800 soon. 💜
Has the constant construction you navigate through in every video got any better my gosh iv never seen so much road work.
OC: ❤ the teachers definitely grew on me the more i liked at them. Was not expecting you to say it was comfortable to ride tho lol😅
Here for it meter was almost full for this one 😄
Yeah I want this bike, the Aprilia 660 is to expensive and this is basically the next best thing. I know the inline 4's are faster but honestly unless you do alot of driving on the interstate I don't really see how you can enjoy their powerbands, well without getting pulled over lol
Probably my next bike. ❤
