Given that you are swimming in iron, at the moment,
surely the speed boost is worth a few nails?
Especially if one uses the sails and tacks into the wind,
rather than paddling all the way.
The axe is a must have virtually anywhere and almost makes the sword obsolete. Almost.
You mean the oddly circular things which bob on the water and have what look like barnacles on them? Yeah, totally not a creature 😅
I did flip the script on the boat decision later on since I could see and navigate to other land masses. It’s the initial push off into open ocean which worries me.
Good to see you exploring more of the world! With a boat journey of this length, I suspect you may come to regret not bringing the longship. The iron is a small price to pay for the speed at sea, and you can always break it down at the other end.

Did it ever cross your mind to craft a cart, bring it to the boat, load all the silver at once, and just roll it to the kilns?... surely it would have been faster :)
He's a new player and still getting used to the game. The most efficient ways of doing thing aren't apparent and he was probably just really excited to get the ore back.. as we all were at one point! I think he is just trying strike a tough balance between doing things his way (blind play) and listening to the comments. (pay no attention to the following blondie!) At his progression in the game I would already have a 3 bay stone dock at boat deck level for the carts, a beautiful stone bonfire lighthouse on the shore, and steel torches on the dock to line up my docking procedure. Also his main entrance is a funky wood half wall garden of sorts so he cant bring stuff through the front door with a cart, whereas I would have perfectly flat stone walled gardens somewhere else in the meadows and a portal to said farm. No wrong way to do things really, but there are more efficient ways for sure!

I did, but the cart has traumatized me and it can burn in Hel.
If I were playing offline solo, I would have done much of this flair. The ‘creative’ build also eats into much of the time which could have been dedicated to improving the base.
Ultimately, when you make UA-cam videos, you’re always conscious of striking a balance between personal satisfaction and viewer attention.
Perhaps, after fleshing the creative build, I’ll focus on the base instead.
