As much as I love OnePlus, the iPhone A13 bionic chip is just too damn fast for a mid tier processor on the Nord. Not to mention the significantly faster storage on the iPhone as well.
The difference between the phones is that Apple builds the SE with higher tier specs like NVME storage or the A13 chip cause they generate their revenue on other phones/through services that run on the SE hence the lower price point. One Plus doesn’t really have services so they rely on the margin of the phone. It’s just kind of a unfair comparison. Apple throws out high in internal specs at a price point that almost no other can compete with just because they are one of the richest companies of the world.
erinator1703 that’s such a flawed argument! Apple doesn’t force you to pay for their services! I still have an iPhone 6s and never used any apple services.
@@erinator1703 If they wanted you to buy services, they would have just put a SoC from iphone 7. Apple decided to make the phone look older in favor of performance, because you can buy a cheap samsung with hole-punch camera and oled screen(2020 "designy"), but the phone itself is garbage.

Eh? This is not a scientific test. It's a test of real world speed. In as standardized and neutral a way as possible. RAM management is very much a part of everyday speed.
keco185 Ram management or the amount of ram allows for more processes / apps to run simultaneously but it doesn’t speed them up. Ram equals more but it doesn’t equal speed.
@@blakeok952 so no one should expect it to be close. We're talking about flagship chip vs midrange chip, even with the ram differences it wouldn't make that much of an impact on the test results. Not saying it would charge the overall result here, but it's the a reason you use the on screen home button on the iPhone and gestures on the Nord? The 1-2 seconds it takes to double swipe up every time you want to leave a fullscreen app really adds up. IMO both phones should use the default gestures OR custom single button home.
@@pulmunyi oh yeah you're right. I didn't realized SE doesn't support swipe controls. Though I think that all OnePlus phones supports choosing the type of navigation. If not, widget similar to the accessibility home button can be easily downloaded from the Play Store.

It actually lasts my mom 6hrs of screen on time. Every phone has its place. The se targets the less techy person who don't want their phone to be big or complicated while still being really fast and affordable
Honestly I would expect the ROG phone to win despite having a slightly worse chip than the A13. Although comparing it to the iPhone 12 about to come out would be a bit more fair since it will be closer in terms of screen refresh rate
What people don't know most of the times is that Apple uses finFet transistors in processors of iPhones which are expensive to make and much faster than the Mosfet transistors that most android phone makers use. Which means even if these phones have higher RAM they are still slower due to the use of cheaper and slower transistor usage. There are lot of tech advantages to Apple due to the usage of more expensive things used in the making of the phone which provides it with better performance and why it never crashes like most android phones.
This just goes to show how “oh apple phones only have 3 Gb ram” doesn’t matter. Raw numbers isn’t everything. Apple iPhones are efficient since they run on their own OS, like some other companies and this allows it to take full advantage of the chipset and software to provide a good user experience

It's a good test because a lot of YT influencers have been saying the SD765 is as fast as a flagship and you will not notice the difference! Of course, that is pure marketing for OnePlus, that chip is very slow at anything intensive and although not everyone loads up apps like in this test if you do the Nord will be a lot slower. Frame rates will obviously be lower as the chip isn't fast enough to work as well as the SD865 (or A13). In a few years when we get more intensive apps, that gap will widen and we will see that the Nord is not future-proofed. Get yourself a flagship processor and you will be far happier in the long run. The Poco F2 Pro is the same price and is a better bet.

I'm pretty impressed with the efficiency of iOS ram. It's like 1gb iOS = 1.5 - 2gb of Android ram (depends on the phone). Although it may be because iOS is very simple and much less features than Android so it is lighter on the ram. However Android are still destroying iPhone since we're getting 12-16gb ram vs iPhones at the same price. It's embarrassing. 16gb ram is similar to entire phone storage a few years ago...

One Plus doesn’t really have services so they rely on the margin of the phone. It’s just kind of a unfair comparison. Apple throws out high in internal specs at a price point that almost no other can compete with just because they are one of the richest companies of the world.

Whoever thought that the 765G would best the A13 Bionic are crazy 😂
they are idiots
Aight im gettin the SE. The nord has a rly nice design but I want the speed
Wait for battery test. SE is not gret in that one.
Get a powerbank too while you are at it 😂
😂 speed... At 60Hz screen.
When are we gonna see speed test from Asus Rog Phone 3? Fastest phone alive 😁?
Like if you wan to see speedtest asus rog phone 3!!
I’d guess the iPhone 11 Pro is still faster. Fastest android phone though
@@keco185 so Asus rog 3 vs iphone 11 pro speed test I think Asus can beat IPhone 🤓
The iPhone 11 Pro has the faster chip than the ROG phone 3, but the ROG phone 3 has better thermal system (it has a fan).
It would be really interesting to see those two compete!
@@NguyenTran-eq2wg snapdragon 865+ is not tested yet against chipset from iphone 11 pro so we dont know who is faster
Sg 90 865+ is slower in single threaded tasks but faster in multi threaded. Idk about the gpu but apple’s should be faster unless the 865+ has significant overclock to make up for the difference from the standard 865.
Android has many phones so each app is not optimised for every Phone but in case of iphone there are very less models so every app is optimised very good so that can be the reason of fast opening of apps
Puts the 765G into perspective against flagship chips. No way im paying over $600 for this kind of performance.
If there is a channel i have been patient with. Coz i know its a real time review unlike someone narrating me what he found out.
Some humans are just suckas
This test made me love the nord even more, I can wait 22 sec that's find.
ahmad problem is, those 22 seconds keep adding up, being hours or even days of waiting you’d save. A13 on the SE is way out of its league
@@JochoPorocho You know what else adds up? Waiting 3 hours for your phone to charge and then getting 4 hours SoT. And also on the SE you will wait for apps to reopen because of low ram
@@JochoPorocho hahahaha who is that talking? How old are!! Hours and DAYS! HAHAHAHHAHA go look at the OnePlus 1 it's still working perfectly you even play pubg on it. I love when people talk about things they don't know SHIT about.
ahmad i know my “shit”, I’m not saying it’s a bad phone, I’m just saying the iPhone has an overall better value, 5 years down the line, iPhone SE will keep getting support and updates, let’s see where Nord gets it 1-2 years. And please, PUBG is lame on phone
Y P i have a 11 Pro Max and a SE and i can happily tell you that battery life is great on SE, I can get to the end of the day with 20% left. And no, app reloads aren very rare, sometimes I get into apps I opened days ago and are running like I’ve never closed them, and iOS 14 makes it incredibly buttery smooth
Nord vs SE:
Nord:
Screen: A
Battery: A
Camera: B
Charging: A+
Speed: B+
RAM: A
Software: B
Build quality: B
Design: B+
iPhone SE 2:
Screen: C
Battery: C
Camera: A
Charging: D
Speed: A++
RAM: C+
Software: A
Build quality: A
Design: C
I'd still choose the Nord but I will admit I laughed at the SE slaughtering the Nord here.
why the charging is D? Yes, you have to buy a separate fast charger, but it'll juice up it's battery just as fast. Why the build quality is B as well? iPhone SE has aluminum frame, while Nord has plastic. Software is A+ as well because it'll get more than 5 years of updates. Design is subjective. OnePlus Nord has green tint display issues, wouldn't that make the display B?
@@arturmavlyuchenko7647 Charging will remain D because you have a 5watt in box. or buy a 18Watt $40 fast charge brick while the Nord comes with a 30watt one in the box for free.
Fair on build quality. Software is also subjective but I didn't mean how long you get support- more optimization and camera software.
Every fair reviewer says that SE is outdated it was almost the same 5 years ago. OnePlus Nord has a much more modern bezeless display and a fingerprint sensor in nearly the same place.
Display issues are Very minor and not really noticable and a 90hz oled 1080p is an amazing deal for the price I should ideally make it A+ screen.
@@TheAviationistKhizr Oh, I forgot there was an A++ option. Still, I think an A++ is gonna be 120Hz 1440p (or near, more than 1080p at least) bright OLED screen with no considerable issues. So 90Hz and 1080p and OLED are for A+, but with the issues it might be A. I can't talk specifically because it isn't being sold yet, right? Well even if it is, it's too early. Of course, an SE has less advantage due to having softer screen and for some people being smaller and having a backlight. Noone should be listening for a reviewer saying that the oudated part is a bad thing. There's a target audience for every phone out here. I can certainly make the same points about "fLaGsHiP KiLlErS" not having wireless charging, IP rating, plastic builds, inferior SoCs, no NFC, eSIM, Express Transit, worse vibrating motors like it's 2014-2015. Come on. Don't speak for everybody.
@@arturmavlyuchenko7647 outdated might not be a bad thing but still, you can't disagree it's boring. From 2007-2020 the basic design is the same. Why should it be classed as A design when it's outdated, non-innovative and no new thought put into it. It's basically an updated iPhone 6. OnePlus is at least trying to make the futuristic look with a different unique at a cheaper price that's why they get design points.
@@TheAviationistKhizr yes, it's boring. I haven't said it deserves to be an "A" design. It's just a phone for boomers or people who like small phones. While I get this all excitement about "fUtUrIsTiC lOoKs", there's a point where you can't say it's only Apple who reuses the design. Sometimes there're might be visually either no differences at all or small differences, and I hate that... (was talking about BBK and other Chinese manufacturers generally speaking)
Even though I bought the Nord, from second 1 I knew it was going to lose, Apple with that A13 just kills my poor boy
How do you compare a high end processor with a midrange processor??
It’s because the phones r released at the same price
Because it’s price the same
That was embarrassing
Do you know what oneplus has ? *Battery Life*
Battery and screen so you can actually enjoy the performance
@@TheAviationistKhizr fact
This is a speed test. Nobody said nothing about your precious oneplus company that u probably have wet dreams about
@Desmond Cheng *low res 60Hz , cheap LCD screen has joined the chat*
@Desmond Cheng ok so a phone thats overpowered but if do something powerful it discharges in 2 hours is a yes ? Also it comes with state of the art 5 watt charger . Just because it has plastic frame you can neglect it being an actual usable phone , OLED 90hz display and a 30watt charger ? Jeez you're a sheep !
Battle of the budget smartphones, Apple is focusing on speed more than innovation based on the design.
Lost hahaha 🤦🏼♂️
stop it with the innovation. The SE is a device with older design but current SoC and coprocessors. What's wrong with that? I'd take like a Note 7 / Nexus 6P with 855 rather than having a phone with a chin and waterfall notch.
@@hinkelstein_ ?
Phonebuff, can you test very actively used phone and new phone which same model? I am curious to see if storage chip gets slow by usage.
765G is some what underwhelming! A13 on the other hand, is an absolute beast! Wonder what the price difference between the 765G and 855/865 is? Maybe the Nord would have been better served by a 8 series Snapdragon as opposed to a multitude of close to useless camera lenses and 12GB of ram? On the other hand the Apple could do with an edge to edge bezel-less screen and a bigger battery... I guess it's a case of finding the balance. 765G is a bit of a donkey when required to do some heavy lifting...
if oneplus used an 8 series chip on the nord then it would cannibalise sales from the 8 and 8 pro.
Speed test starts at 1:36
Thank me later
No
All i can type right now is first
?
Not buying iPhone se that's for sure even if nord fails
Please a speedtest between OnePlus Nord 5G (Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G) vs. Samsung Galaxy A51 5G (Samsung Exynos 980).
that's very unfair, the a71 would be a better matchup imo
@@raqeebahmed1452 Yeah but I want Snapdragon 765G against its true rival Exynos 980, it doesn't matter that device be A51 or A71, both have same chipset. 😄
@@BLUEerudite12 wait they have the same chipset? if so then i think it's fair
@@raqeebahmed1452 no, there is a difference in camera, build quality, size, battery and optimizations done. 😄 Just like A51 and M31 have same chipsets Exynos 9611 but there are a lot of differences though.
@@BLUEerudite12 yeah i understand
It’s crazy how fast phones have become to the point that they are only a few seconds apart.
12 GB of Ram. It's like having a best Driver in world withvH Civic against Ferrari that nobady cares who's driving.😂😂😂😂🚘
No. That means, you can open whatever shit you want and the phone will keep it up ready for you. So, you can play a game today and open it tomorrow and the game will still be at the same spot. That's cool, right?
@@Samosayummyyay Again nobody cares the car when U R Nando.😜
Both of these phones are overrated by their fanboys
Sad, most overhyped phone of the year...
it's not overhyped, speed isn't what you regularly get when buying a mid-range phone.while the iphone focuses on speed and the camera, the nord offers the best of everything at that price range.
The Nord and SE open social media apps at the same speed. The Nord is also cheaper. So, what's the issue?
@@Samosayummyyay Well you're absolutely right and comparing speeds of these two is meaningless of me. I'm just disappointed by the overhype OnePlus created, it has failed durability test too.

@ go watch s20 ultra vs iPhone 11pro max and see how iPhone beats s20 in the first lap due to it's processor(A13 chip)
se cheating with floating home button
Ok sweaty
A13 > Snapdragon 765G
simple logic
That one is actually slower than the real home button
does Android has assistive touch built-in? No. How's it cheating when iPhone SE's home button is there ALL the time, but for both swipe gestures and home navigation buttons to show up you have to swipe up?
Do the XR and the Nord next, there both 500 dollars
Can you test the battery life of using the phone with tons of background apps using ram vs closing and reopening an app every time? For multiple android/ ios phones
Bro can u take out abode rush and snapseed from these budget phones. Noone plans to get these phones for video editing.
That's not why they're here. They're there to demonstrate the full power of these chipsets, which gives a better idea of how much headroom they have for future apps and software, which isn't possible to show with day to day apps
Will you do pixel 4a battery test?
Without any hesitation, the Oneplus is the best choice here, maybe it's a bit slower but it's looking 100 times better.
Everyone's forgetting that the apps are loading at a much higher resolution on the OnePlus Nord.. that makes a big difference in speed of course since there are more pixels to draw, more pixels to store, and each app is slower for higher resolutions. Coming from an app dev...
Is there any display issue ?????
Plz talk about it.......
Nord
Wow I expected the iPhone to win, but it smoked the Nord
I'd rather have a better chipset with LTE than a worse one with 5G
Edit: I like how the ram on the Nord helped a ton on lap 2. Also, difference in time on lap 1 wasn't that much. I was wrong. Maybe a 765 isn't that bad
Always amazing to watch your video, your speed tests makes it official as to which phones are the fastest no matter what the manufacturer or other reviewer says
While the SE is indisputably faster, the stylus swipes up twice to simulate "home action" on the one plus (because 1, it needs to show the home button, then swipe to activate it) which adds time.
Nice video. Please think about that for the next android vs iPhone
Pls post more ,you are the best phone testing channel
Remember ppl were yelling about price gap between iPhone X & oneplus 5t - iphone xs & oneplus 6t. When the iPhone finished all the test firs they said “ 400 priCe GAp doeSNT woRtH 10 SecOndS gaP” . So we see now, they can’t beat even 400 dollar iphone at the first lap with their 1000 dollar flagship
Fandroids always gonna whine. Whoever bought the iPhone X at launch can still use it perfectly fine with iOS 16 while someone who bought a Galaxy S8 has probably upgraded twice by now
