Oneplus 8 and Oneplus Nord effectively made people forget about last years' great phone and made them think OnePlus Nord is the best value phone in 2020 (no hate, I do understand that support and OS is a pretty big thing). @@Read_Heat_ Yeah you would probably get better quality just from cropping in on the main camera since it is way sharper. They should drop the macro camera and spend the extra money on a better main camera or telephoto.
When I was going to buy this, I heard a good amount of my friends telling me the cameras aren't really that good. But if you aren't like some photo nerd or someone who pixel peeps a lot, the Nord's main camera does take good reliable photos. The ultrawide is alright, I mean I purely for the wider view (As I said, I don't pay too much attention to photos so what I'm saying is that it's usable). The macro tho, omg it's a piece of shit. I think the video makes it look better than it is coz it looks so fckin bad, very clearly a space filler. The depth sensor is supposed to help in portrait (I do get decent portraits but Idk if the depth sensor actually contributes). The selfie cameras on this tho, are super underrated, they're one of the best ones I've seen, and surprisingly able to record 4k 60FPS video on the front. there is OIS on the main camera that helps a lot. Basically what I wanna say is if you ignore the macro and the sub-par ultrawide, the main and the selfie cameras are really good.
We need a comparison between Realme X2 Pro VS. Oneplus Nord VS. Xiaomi Mi 9 T Pro. All in the same price range all with different compromisses, but it will be interesting to watch.

Now, I am planning to buy this Nord phone(64gb variant) ONLY for the camera to take videos of my rock climbing, slacklining and photos in my treks. I've been in adventures for like 6-7yrs and when i looked back, i hardly have any good photos/videos because i don't have a good camera. i am using budget phones (currently Mi A2, previously moto g4, moto g1) , well because i don't have the budget, but first time i thought of going over my budget to get a good phone (Nord) to take good videos and photos. Now, do you think i should go for Nord this year or save more money for another 1 yr and get one plus 8 pro? i may get some sale offers as well on 8pro next yr. I always buy 1 or 2yr old models since they practically cost half. I'm not in a hurry now due to covid, can't go on adventure trips in india. @King Wiwuz IV yaah beacuse 7 (not 7 pro) was launched intensionally without ultrawide sensor and without 90 hz so they had something to change. However 7T Pro was same as 7 pro because they were talking for about 25 to 30 minutes about Oxygen os and 90 hz display during Oneplus 7t launch cause thay had probably nothing new to talk about other than camera and oxygen os . And i own Oneplus 7 . I know what they are doing with it through software update , increasing and changing the notch shape and corners which looks horrible... Also my phone hangs when I tap on Settings option...😂😂😂
I think the differentiating factor for the OnePlus 9/9Pro is going to be the CPU. They will probably improve the camera system as well but, the CPU is going to be the main thing. Next year should be the beginning of SoCs using the new ARM X1 cores, that should bring a huge leverage in term of single threaded performance. (this should narrow the gap with Apple CPUs). The only worrying thing, is that the X1 cores are noticeably bigger than the A76/77 cores, meaning more expensive, which in turn is probably going to mean more expensive phones.
Don't know about your country by in India OnePlus make less profit per phone by decreasing it's price. Nord is around 373 dollars whereas Poco F2 is around 533. So it's better to go for Nord. But if someone really want to spend more than it's better to go for OnePlus 8 under 560 dollars tham Poco F2 pro under 533...
Also beats it in the custom OS. While MIUI is not as good as the OxygenOS, MIUI is not really that bad either. Ultimately, I got the Poco since they're both the same price in our country anyway. I got a flagship chipset, a full screen AMOLED display, long battery and no hideous notches like the Poco X2 and Nord have
Damn OnePlus really payed every UA-camr, no one compared it to the actual rivals instead they compare it to the OP 8 and iPhones. About the nord, i would have been happy if they have given only the main 48mp and 16mp wide.. he is low-key warning us not to get this phone, if your camera centric person.
I feel like Oneplus is paying youtubers. I just get a strange feeling about it all...The phone is decent for its specs, but you can find 855 phones for the same price. The cameras on this phone are not great, the plastic build can be broken (JerryRigEverything), poor speaker, no micro sd card expandable storage, no wireless charging, no headphone jack, no ip 68, etc, etc. Edit: Lg g8 is on sale for $400 (snapdragon 855, 6gb ram, expandable storage)
Same man and Jerryrigeverything kinda defended the phone by saying structure isn't everything imagine if something like that happened to the iPhone se 2020
I purchased one and I am happy with the performance, so far so good. I believe mobile phones falling in the same price bracket should be compared but most of the guys try to compare every mobile with a flagship device. Strange.
@@scorpion199227 OnePlus is truly the only company that does android skins right... I think a lot of reviewers make the mistake of not converting the price correctly. The Nord costs 399€ (it was for sale for 379€ already) AFTER tax and everything. For example if you wanna do the same thing with the iPhone SE 2020 you would have to take the EU price and convert it: 470€ ~ 550$, not 399$. So the NORD is even cheaper if it was sold in the US and i would be nice if you could mention it. So a 400€ is more like a 350$ phone in the US (before tax)

Oneplus 8 and Oneplus Nord effectively made people forget about last years' great phone and made them think OnePlus Nord is the best value phone in 2020 (no hate, I do understand that support and OS is a pretty big thing).
Examples would be K20 Pro, Realme X2 Pro, iPhone 11, S10+, and even their own older OnePlus 7T/7 Pro/7T Pro are forgotten because of this phone's hype.

Hey.. always appreciate ur vids!!!

Jerryrigeverything : Hold my beer

Watching the video from my op Nord and I'm loving it !!
How's the camara doing?
I think a lot of reviewers make the mistake of not converting the price correctly.
The Nord costs 399€ (it was for sale for 379€ already) AFTER tax and everything.
For example if you wanna do the same thing with the iPhone SE 2020 you would have to take the EU price and convert it: 470€ ~ 550$, not 399$.
So the NORD is even cheaper if it was sold in the US and i would be nice if you could mention it.
So a 400€ is more like a 350$ phone in the US (before tax)
