I remember one time James Corden was asked to name one of his camera crew for the eat your guts or spill your guts. He doesn't know a single name of the crew he was working with for years. Conan knows everyone and continues to work with them and keep them employed for decades. He's a great guy and probably the best late night host ever.
I wonder if that's why James knows a few of his camera operators names now. Like fins up Pete or the temp camera operator (can't remember his name)? I wonder if it's because of that Kimmel show or if Covid did it.. If anyone has insight into when he started to remember the camera operators let me know, my memory isn't that good.
He's actually very humble in heart and in soul and in his own spiritual way so that makes him one of the best and one of my favorite hosts to date and I truly appreciate what he does my voice just cracked there by the way
It’s moments like these that we should all be reminded how hosts should treat their crews. Conan has always been humble and thankful to his staff and it legendary. He will always be the king of late night and a great example on how to be kind and genuine while still be edgy and hilarious
that cute little hug was the most heartwarming thing I've seen on my screen in a long time... just a simple little honest interaction that says miles about Conan's personality
Opening monologue is so stale, jokes so perfunctory, and Conan so sick of the format, he's constantly looking for any kind of spontaneous interaction to escape. God bless him, he deserves better.
I'm not sure of deserving better, being the top talk show host and also rich and a powerful person. But the format really needs an upgrade. Now the escapes he makes are the kind where he starts making fun of audience members usually, which is a bit uncomfortable.
You can really tell the difference in how Conan feels most comfortable with himself when he switches from monologuing off a script to complete improv and messing around. Gets way funnier, too.
Clayton Brown oh buddy, if only he was the worst :/. this isnt rape, but James Toback had nearly 400 women come forward and Larry Nassar had 265 the last time I saw.
also, I dont think the original commenter is defending Bill Cosby whatsoever. Conan was a fan of Cosby (I believe), so it'd be pretty cold to make a joke about someone you admire falling from grace, not cold to make the joke about him. ua-cam.com/video/imdvDRVxO9I/v-deo.html
I love how Conan has always paid so much respect to his staff. Even in jokes, he manages to pay respect and it always comes across. I'd love to have a boss like Conan someday.
People posting about the monologue not being great, as if Conan was ever known for an amazing monologue. His improv has ALWAYS been his strong suit and he knows it and makes fun of his monologue all the time
Conan is a very kind and caring man, he treats his staff like human beings and works towards making them happy and that is why he is the best talk show host in my opinion, past and present. He got worried that he might have upset James the camera man so he gave him a hug and acknowledged his hard work in front of everyone 👏😊
As a cameraman in the UK, it's rare to be acknowledged by the talent. However, I did work with James Corden once and mentioned to him that a girl camera operator on the same show was a big fan. He ran up to her, threw her over his shoulder and ran around the stage with her (this was during rehearsals). Made her day.
I love the moment when Conan realizes that the “I’ve never seen you work this hard in your life” joke might have hurt James’ feelings or embarrassed him and goes in for a hug.
I love how he starts "I've traveled the world with James" as if he's leading into an appreciation message, but then turns it back into the joke. He's funny and he's a great boss.
I'm a big conan fan, been watching it a lot since pandemic started since i work from now for more than a year now, and this is my background while working. I'm gonna miss his shows :(
I always like a conan video after I watch it but end up unliking it because what I don't realize is I always like a conan video before I actually watch it
Now that I think about it, maybe I don't watch other talk shows enough but Conan is the only one in which I at least know the faces and names of some of the crew, cool of him to involve them like this on the show regularly.
If u were an indian talking about India's prime minister like that, you would be lying dead in a railway track with an unrecognisable face the next day 🤣😂
He always knows how to not ruin the show. The way he turns everything into a joke, and never skips a beat, is the reason Conan is the best Late Night host ever.
He is so sweet. How he called James and showed him up. It's these little things that make him a giant personality.
Payal Gupta lmao Giant, hope it's "pun intended"
the fact that he even knows the names of his camera operators is so wholesome for some reason
I can literally hear Conan's praises all day. And not just because I am unemployed. But because it does good to my heart.
He didn't show him up lol
@@huskiehuskerson5300 I don't think they understood what "show him up" means. Probably just meant he showed him on camera.

Conan knows everyone and continues to work with them and keep them employed for decades. He's a great guy and probably the best late night host ever.
I don't think he knows the names of a lot of his crew. He just says "How's it going Chopper?" As he walks around the office.
James B wait are you the actual James the cameraman?
I'm pretty sure that's a joke.
You know Ellen's crew are told by their direct supervisors Not to Speak to Ellen when you encountered her in the office.
I wonder if that's why James knows a few of his camera operators names now. Like fins up Pete or the temp camera operator (can't remember his name)?

Conan’s improv is impeccable. So naturally hilarious on the spot. This is why he’s the best talk show host.
it's not improv, he has Que cards
No improv in this clip... but he still is one of the best comedians ever...
Dude the cam man not part of the skit
Scholarly Cat literally NOTHING he does onstage in improv. Every breath, line and eye blink is planned
even if it isn’t improv it still takes incredible acting skills to make it seem so realistic. plus i’m sure he writes most of the jokes himself.
Bet Conan's the only one who actually knows his cameramen, Corden couldn't even name one of them
@Chuck Taylor He did a segment where one question was to either name one of his cameramen or eat some disgusting food and he had to eat the food...
@@vinnyl264 that's the trick. There is much real, but also much show, so you never know, and the host can say it was a joke, even if it wasn't
are you saying conan is a good talk show host because he knows the name of a cameraman
But thats just a theory a game theory
@@shrekonion8307 no, it's that he actually makes an effort to know

@@notemusic well given the information we have now Ellen is a low bar to clear but okay
And a bigger paycheck for the "On Screen Fee"...
🤣🤣🤣 I laughed harder at Conan's improvised interactions than at the jokes. But that's to be expected
That Cosby joke was pretty good to be fair.
somanytakennames Yes! The jokes are great, I love the show! I just laugh harder when Conan goes off the rails 😁
Conan is at his best when he's dong improv....
Half of his monologue always sucks, I think it's always been the point.
Conan stated in an interview that the reason this show is very good is because of these non intended moments. And he's right
The best comedy is always improvised.
Except when it isn't.
Say no more
Nah
yes but also the worst
It’s moments like these that we should all be reminded how hosts should treat their crews. Conan has always been humble and thankful to his staff and it legendary. He will always be the king of late night and a great example on how to be kind and genuine while still be edgy and hilarious
That looked like the warmest hug. Conan always seemed like genuine person to his crew. What a guy.
I like how he hugged him after that
that cute little hug was the most heartwarming thing I've seen on my screen in a long time... just a simple little honest interaction that says miles about Conan's personality
Conan is hilarious on the spot, he constantly kills me in everything he does

Alanya Morgan I think he’s evolving into Craig Ferguson levels of ‘This is all bullshit’

which interview?
You can really tell the difference in how Conan feels most comfortable with himself when he switches from monologuing off a script to complete improv and messing around. Gets way funnier, too.
Seriously, the monologue segments are fun but definitely not his strong suit
Conan should just improvise all his shows at all times, I'd definitely watch everyday :-)

Its true. You can see Conan mentioned "James the cameraman" in the conan without border: australia
Yep. "Whenever I hear James the cameraman laughing.."
Isn’t James also the one who got stuck behind the counter at Sylvia’s?
@@vinnyl264 ahaha i think so too!

You know, if a CEO knows the average employee's name then they're in (a) good company.
If there's a writer who planned this cameraman joke, he's the comedic genius of our decade.
Definetly not...Conan has spontanously shown his comedy talent many times before

Yup. His name is conebone69
Mike taerte The best TV show writing I've seen was 12 monkeys'

The king of improvise comedy. I mean how fast his brain work, it's amusing.
These type of showing little gesture to a cameraman makes Conan G.O.A.T

Just proof that his improv is the best. Honestly that monologue was kinda shitty but the randomness around him saved the day once again!
Wow that Cosby joke was cold lol

Cold to possibly the worst serial rapist in America's history???

Reason #89 why I love Conan, he has fun with his camera crew and knows them by name. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Make them strip butt naked for the show is questionable but still not yet punishable as they haven't yet made complain.
Conan's been on fire ever since he got back from Italy.
