I may have been at this concert, lol. I have a picture with me getting Ronnie Lott's autograph after a HL concert and I believe he was dressed like he is in this video, ha. Not sure if the 9ers were at any other of their concerts.
In ‘87, Huey released this, Fore! Their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is Hip to Be Square, a song so catchy most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the conformity and the importance of trends, but it’s also a personal statement about the band itself. Hey Paul!
Has anyone heard "The Heart of Rock N Roll," with the TOP horns? I've heard it one time, and can't find it anywhere. I notice Mic Gillett is absent, he might have been with Cold Blood during this project, also Richard Elliott has replaced L. P, Lenny Pickett.
@@noviranger88 Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when sports came out in 83 i think they really came into their own, comerically and artistically.
Best band ever...now and always! Incredible music in every way. Thanks to Huey Lewis and the News. Hope to hear more in the future if possible. Lots of prayers needed for healing for Huey ❤🙏
Their earlier work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when *Sports* came out in ‘83, I think they really came to their own. Both commercially and artistically.
This song really cuts through tension like an axe.
Hey, Paul!
That 49ers team was invincible and immortal to me back then. Rest easy, Dwight. You made the franchise with the Catch.
Should be in the R&R hall of fame.
One of the most underrated bands EVER!
They were a little bit too new wave for my taste but when Sports came out in '83 I think they really came into their own
BOOM!!!!
Great horns, love Thornburg’s hair
The horns were actually the core of a band called Tower of Power… you should look them up.
Hey Paul!
Tower of Power and Huey Lewis and the news, perfect marriage!
Love how Doc’s bari comes through loud and clear on this recording. 😮
Love to see the whole crew up on the stage having fun!
Thanks for the great music, gentlemen!!! 💕
Man, I can hear Dwight Clark singing at about 4:11 to 4:16. RIP.
My wife went to this concert as a teenager.
Why is it so catchy?
I don’t even want to listen to the lyrics!

One of the best bands from the 80s.

@@Redditstoryteller344he’s been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
Are ya stoopid! They’re the best RnR band of the 80’s
Killer!

The Marin spin … great days 😀
2:35 Boomer League
Yeah. Those are the San Francisco 49ers including one of - if not the - best quarterbacks of all time Joe Montana.
singing with the San Francisco 49ers
When?

Was this a New Years show at Oakland?
I believe it was before New Years because I went to that concert.
Sure looks like the 86 new years at Oakland I was there for that concert when the 49ers came out to sing
Woooo!❤
I just realized that Huey Lewis looks a bit like Jeff Gordon.

Is that Joe Montana on stage????
Yes it is. They were all 49ers. Randy Cross was next to Joe. I believe I saw Ronnie Lott in there.
watchin a bunch of 40 yo men dancing like that is really hilarious
They're okay...
