    I have one on a 20 long. I think it does better on my shallower tanks than the 3.0. I would definitely buy another one.

    I bought the aqua sky 2.0 a couple months ago and have been struggling to find a good explanation of how it works since. I finally stumbled on this video You're an absolute lifesaver. Turns out I had all the colors turned up way too high for a 10 gallon tank. I'm following your advice now and hopefully the algae problems are a thing of the past. Thanks again!

    I just found this video and watched Part 1. Thank you so much! I've had the Aquasky 2.0 for a few years on my 46 gal bow front and could not figure out how to use the light to it's full potential. I love the features of the light, but have been kind of so-so on brightness, etc. I'm setting up another tank - 20 gal long and decided to try to find a different light. I may give the Aquasky another try on the new tank. I only have low to medium light plants so hopefully light will be strong enough for plants without growing algae - that I can grow really well!

    Been looking forward to this review! Have two Aquasky lights, one on a 55 gal, one on a 28 gal bow front. The 55 has co2, the 28 no co2. Have been testing settings for past year, both lights at same settings during testing. Indeed have found blue light with increased percentage to cause more algae, especially BBA. Funny though, with decreased blue light, have had a steady diet of BBA to the tank with co2. Not a lot, but enough to annoy. Plant growth has been steady and equal to both tanks. Mainly crypts, anubias, sword and java fern. Now waiting to see what further you have to say over next couple of videos!

    Fairly new to modern lighting. I have a Fluval shaker 168l (44 US gal). With the original light (Fluval Aquasky 2) I found the arc of the light left some areas of the tank permanently in shade, so I bought another and fitted one at the back and one at the front. Watching your excellent tutorials, I realise that this may have been more because what I wanted to see, rather than what was best for the plants. So, what would be your advice for the light settings for this set up. I have a large variety of different plant (I can list them if needed), and would value an expert opinion :)

    • @BentleyPascoe
      @BentleyPascoe  4 місяці тому

      @@davidlewis2068 due to the shaker's height, I would likely set both lights in auto mode. 1.5 hour long sunrise and sunset, then 6 hours of daylight set to: white 75%, blue 5%, red 55%, green 45% and monitor for a couple weeks. If we're seeing a lot of algae (this should be mostly surface/dust algae) we would want to dial it back a little. No algae? Stay the course and keep monitoring plants health.

Both lights are configured from 10 am till 23 pm with 2 hours sun up and 4 hours sun down. It worked properly but since 1.5 month it wont turn on automatically and if it does not on the same hours i have set in (i use auto mode) lights are up to date didnt change anything before it occurred. I tried to check on the web how to do a factory reset but cant find it. I removed the power and powered it up. Did not solve. Removed the lights and add them did also not solved. Deleted all cache on the phone did not solve and installed app on another phone same issue. Do you have any idea or solution? I kindly like to hear from you. • @BentleyPascoe
      @BentleyPascoe  2 роки тому

      It depends on the plants you're keeping. If you have mostly easier low demand plants, then I would dial both lights back a little bit. Especially if you already have the light set a little higher in intensity. But if you already have the lights set pretty low and all the plants are doing good and you haven't really had many algae issues then you're probably okay setting the second light at the same setting.

I have done the retro fit on one side with the Aquasky but have found the light looks unbalanced and dimmer. I was thinking shall I put another Aquasky on the other side, too. The Juwel tubes were rated at 29 watts, each tube. This Aquasky is rated at 30 watts, I only have one, so only half the lighting capacity as before. It would depend on the tank you're putting them on. I would probably reduce the power a little bit on each because you are using two lights and where they overlap would be really intense. So something like if we're running whites at 100%, I might dial it back to 75% to start and kind of monitor to see how the tank handles that extra light. If we're not seeing any algae, we could bump it up a little bit more if we feel we need it. But if everything's going great we just leave it there. Hope that helps!

I have almost all synodontis catfish, including several rare ones - pardalis, hemisynodontis, brichardi, angelicus and multipunctatus - with some clown loaches and a black ghost. I used to have an ecoxotica strip light with a remote control so I could switch between, white or purple, or red or blue light. It was beautiful. If you're getting good results from the beamswork, don't change it. If you want more control, the Aquasky is great for lower light demand, but if you ever plan to have slightly more demanding plants, save for the Plant 3.0

      It depends on how brightly lit you're looking to make the tank and if you have certain plants in there. If plants are a little more high like demanding then you might want something more like the plant 3.0 as far as power is concerned. Or you would need multiple aquasky lights.
