Great product for good price. I have a satellite pro plus led 24in that was $80 more than the aquasky 48 in. So much better on showcasing the fish. I don't know about plant growth as my 29 gal is heavily planted and my 75 mbuna with the aquasky 2.0 only have Java ferns. I highly recommend it as it is a great product and competitively priced slightly higher than your stock lighting yet offers more features than your $250 - $400 price point led lights

I've just purchased and fitted a new Fluval Plant spectrum LED satellite light for my new 3 foot Aqua One tank. The light bar fits perfectly without any modifications. It didn't come with a wi-fi because this new model uses SmartAPP through Bluetooth so that if you have cameras in your home and have one pointing at the fish tank, you can make changes anywhere in the world by observing the tank on the camera in a Smartphone. Whether it comes with a wi-fi or Bluetooth App, the preparation and settings is the same. What I love is the super steady ramping and dimming of the lights to any length of time you want, e.g. from dark to sunrise to full day indefinitely but 2 or 3 hours would do, and at sunset it's the same two hours between 6pm to 7pm.
The dimming is so smooth, it's almost real and is much better than other brands in comparison. Bluetooth is the way to go if you have home internet/network combination, where the modem will communicate with the unit. I am absolutely happy with this system and so are my fish, no more startles, light shock, stress, etc. The colour bar-graphs are set to 100%, which is too bright for the fishes eyes, so I've set mine to less than half the brightness and the fishes stopped going under shades. My 3 feet unit can light up a 6x3x2 large tank and at a height of 2 to 3 feet high. Even so, at 50% plus/less brightness is plenty. The other 50% is extra and is not necessarily needed. Thanks to German engineering, this is the best unit on the market. 🙂👍

Pretty much the only Fluval product worth the premium pricetag. I have 2 of the 48" models of the Aquasky. Love them, but I wish the app itself would update and improve features more.
Lol?... What fluval products aren't worth it?.. Their canisters are some of the best, longest lasting, easy to setup and maintain canisters I've ever used. Easily the best options most big box pet stores sell
For the next update you should have a third section where you can set your light minute to minute and be able to change the colour, brightness, and weather effects so that you could make each day of the week different if you want and be able to change the colour spectrum while it is dimming or brightening. This would be amazing to have this light fixture get even more customizable.
A new update is out there and there is now also a "Pro" function where you can program a break, for example, or a 4th area in the automatic mode for sunset or moonlight effect that goes out at a certain time

Would love to see a function where we can import light settings. That would enable aquarist to share settings that work best for certain biotope. Can also have a library from Fluval to import. My tank is currently filled with Bucep. I will have to experiment with what works best. How nice if we can have a menu to import from. Also may have a first aid setting to help rid of Algae. Could even pair lights to algae treatments to improve efficacy. I have an 8 foot tank. I will probably get 2 x 48"-60" units. Is there a sync mode where I sync both lights?

Color settings during sunrise and sunset would be awesome. More of dawn and dusk settings, or be able to program them. Also, more options for setting dynamic effects, like different effects at different times. Last thing, PLEASE add a fade for changing from darker to brighter. I go from dark to light and it’s too sudden , a fade would help not stress the fish as much.
James, there is an update arriving soon, it will offer a number of great new features. To create a more gradual fade you can select a longer time period in either sunset or sunrise settings.
So I bought the Plant model. 4 feet long. The 59 watt bad boy. I’m so ready to get this going.

Hello! Quick question regarding the dynamic effects:
The very first icon in the effects menu you're showing, the crossed out circle - is that an actual "light off" option? Or would it have no effect on auto mode and just means "no effect set yet"? If it is a "light off" setting, I could use it to create a siesta/split photoperiod, and that would be awesome.
Alternatively, could you advise which of the weather effects, e.g. cloud, is the dimmest and how dim (20%, 50%) it is compared to full power, so I could at least dim the lights for a while?
I love the light otherwise and am about to buy, but this is holding me back. I would like to enjoy my tank before and at least a little while after work, and a split photo period is a good way to do that.

PS: I know you're about to release an update, so it's too late this time round to suggest features - but wondered whether you'd considered just adding the P1 to P4 presets to the dynamic effects menu choices for auto mode? That might be a relatively simple way to give folks custom options within auto mode...
The crossed out circle would be the display when dynamic effects have been disabled and would be visible next to the statement "disabled". Whether you are engaging or disabling dynamic effects you must save that selection. Thank you for the suggestions, the first update is soon to be released, appreciate the patience.

Is there a way to program the light in the Auto setting, so it will shut the light off completely? or will I always have to do it manually?

Amazing from Fluval. The only way they can top this is by adding a sprinkler system and wind fans to replicate weather. Then sync it up with the weather app and then just copy’s the real world
Very helpful video. I understand that I can set the colour mix however I want. What mix or mixes most accurately represent real sunlight and moonlight, though?

Save the program, find it in export and export to each light unit, note that the light units have to be the same exact model.
This video was very helpful. I had my previous light fixture on a time in which I could create a split photoperiod. This was to combat algae. Is there a way to do that with this light fixture and the current settings?
Not with the current configuration as once night mode is engaged it remains at the chosen % of light output.

You select either at the top of the screen, then adjust settings. After disconnecting from the app the light unit will run on those settings in that mode.
I am wondering if my Aquasky is broken,... I can't seem to get the white lights off when it's on color cycle why? Who would want the whites on during color cycle? Hard to tell with the whites on but that doesn't look like a full spectrum RGB color cycle either. Looks like purple and blue to me only. Shoulda also put a feature for programmable color cycle if this is the case to be able to choose ur colors, or full spectrum, speed + duration that would simply be awesome and stop me from returning these since they will not match my RGB set-up in my man cave like this. Will just get outdoor RGB waterproof LED's and lace them around inside the top of aquarium and set them on cycle and they have a remote so good enough and just use the white LED's that came with it for white. Any help would be appreciated though I like these but not the one feature I was mainly after so sad!!! :(
Hello, thanks for this video. I am really happy with this light. I do have a query regarding the auto lighting schedule. Step 3 provides the weather options. What does the top 2nd from the right option (rg and b going in a swirl) do? Does it make an automatic mix of conditions for the days you select? If not, is it possible to preset for different weather conditions for different days and if yes, how please? Thanks
The RGB is an auto cycling of all color options one fading into the next continuously. Weather effects are engaged by selecting Dynamic Effects, then select the day, enter the duration in time, save and make sure to select "Enable".
Hi, just got this LED and was wondering if it can sustain anemones?
Is the enabled dynamic mode shown in the preview? I keep trying to preview my middle of the day dynamic setting and it doesn't seem to happen. Also, is it possible to switch to all the way blue "moonlight" mode for night time, then turn off completely at a selected point?
It is not as there are multiple options for dynamic effects for each day of the week. Not at the current time but it will be post the update.

If you loose power the light does not have a memory chip that resets to time or continues?A minus is there a fix coming or did not think of that?
its via bluetooth on your phone so the cache had files that saves that for you
When there's a power outage or you unplug the device you have to restart it with the app. The settings on your app stay the same, you just need to reconnect with the light(s). This is a little minus that the 3.0 also still seems to have.

I have a few question about the app on my iPhone. I just purchased my 4th fluval light! Pretty much only have had fluval tanks! So keep the great items coming! On to my questions. So I just got the fluval Marine 3.0 24”. I bought the light because I loved the customization of the light under manual mode and auto mode that I saw on this video. Pretty much why I upgraded from the fluval 1.0 Marine to the 3.0 now. So when I set up the light I noticed some of the options were missing from the video, which leads me to my first question, why doesn’t my manual mode look like the one displayed on the video? Mine just has the option to change the colors by percentage and the video has more of a remote control mode. It’s seems like there is way more flexibility. Second question, in auto mode why doesn’t mine have the dynamic effect mode? I would like to have more flexibility with the effects of lighting and cloud cover and so on. P.S. I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!! I think it be cool if it would be possible to set up a mode to your own personal weather. I live in San Antonio, TX and it be awesome if I could just type that in and the light would replicate everything from the current outside weather conditions! So for example, Texas weather is absolutely crazy, sun out and one hour later it’s storming and then five minutes later the suns back out. Basically if we could select our current location and have the exact weather patterns outside mimic in our tanks. Including the sunrise and sunset as well. Or also maybe you would want your lighting and weather to look like if your in the Caribbean, I wish I could enter any location within reason obviously, and mimic that lighting in the tank. If you have two lights, and set them up the same app, will they both run together through one app, or will the app only control one? So for example, if you set two lights to start a cycle at 8AM, Will they run in sync with each other? Also, are the time settings based on the time on your phone? thank you
The app is set up to recognize/manage each light unit separately. If you wish to have both light units follow the same programs simply program both units identically.
I want to set the times in auto as follows: sunrise : 3-4 ~ daytime: 4-12 ~ sunset: 12-1. When charted, it does not look like a trapezoid like shown. It just looks like a triangle. I think that is because I can only set it in a 24hr period?
You can only set times in sunrise and sunset modes, that sets up the ramping function. Yes, it is a 24hr. period you are setting it for. Let us know if we answered what you are wanting to know please.
I would like to see detailed explanation of dynamic effects and what it does. The Graph with colors doesn't change during the dynamic rage. Also it would be great if there are specialized preset modes for Fluval Flex 15 and 32.5 gallon :).
Dynamic effects based on the simulation of weather occurrences help simulate a natural environment, you may also put the effort in to vary other parameters to better mimic beginning of the rainy season in the tropics, etc...which can be useful in getting some difficult species to spawn. Presets for the 32.5 gallon Fluval Smart App / bluetooth controlled light unit can be found in Export.
Fluval Aquatics Thanks what is the circle with different color in dynamic lighting? Is better for plants?
It seems to me it should be a very simple thing to elaborate upon the versatility of scheduling light changes over the course of a day, having a mid day dark period and programming multiple dynamic effects. The only limitation would be on board memory. That said, the amount of memory involved would be minuscule so I doubt that is the issue.
Is that the issue or are you intending on adding these functions to the app? Also, when is the app update coming?

Hi Mike, that's exactly it - color cycle! It'll make the RGB lights cycle through all the colors.

I just received this today. I put in my sunrise times and saved. It doesn’t look like it’s an option to add times for the daytime setting for whatever reason? And then when I try to add times for sunset, it won’t allow me to save. What’s going on here?

Hi, The 12W - Aquasky would definitely fit the dimensions of your aquarium and is great for plants. Being as your aquarium is heavily planted, a second option for you would be the Planted 3.0 series of LED's which is a more powerful LED.
When you set it to auto mode will it go through a cycle even if you leave and the phone isn't hooked up? Say like I said it up and then I go to work.

For high light requiring species we would recommend the Plant 3.0 series. Water depth in the aquarium is a factor that should also be kept in mind.

Can you go over how to modify the P1 P2 P3 P4 and save them to their respective field. Still a little confused on how to use those
Cole, once you've created the color combination you wish then hold the desired program button for a second, you will see a visual indication that it has been saved, the ring surrounds will brighten slightly. When wanting to change from one program to another simply tap the desired P button....always remembering that this is done in manual mode only.

I miss the function with which you can couple 2 or 3 LED lamps.
So that they run synchronous and the setting that you make for all the lamps that you have recorded in the app.
If you have more than 1 lamp over a pool, it would be good if you can connect them in the app to "ONE"

Thanks I didn’t explain myself well, but I’ve figured it out now. The light changes when you change screens, I thought you had to send new settings t the light, but now realise it changes settings immediately

When is this unit hitting the UK
Hi John, these are available in the UK now. They launched last week so its probably best to check with your local Fluval retailer as to when they'll have stock in store.
The dimmable options - especially for the night-time settings - don’t darken gradually & smoothly until the shut-off.
Except for a solitary blue, all other color combinations (using preset ‘minus’ buttons, or changing the time intervals in programmable settings) - the very last before final step of turning off, the darkest available options are too bright. Adding 3-5 more steps towards the end would be beneficial.
To help establish a smoother transition during sunrise and sunset it does help to establish a longer time period.
From this video I could not ascertain how I can use auto turn my light on and off. If I put it on preset plant does the light turn off at a certain point.
Robert, Auto mode is selected at top center of screem, the clock icon with the arrow circle surrounding it...when selecting it becomes white.
Fluval Aquatics I don’t have a clock icon in auto mode. Does the light turn off completely at the end of the auto cycle “the night cycle”.

Hi Lee, yes! The light will continue running in the mode it was set to, whether or not you're near the tank.
does the app already have sleep time range where the light will be completely off in a certain time? I don't want my light pretty much ON for 24 hrs.

I just got this light and never used the timer setting, manually turn it on and off every day... I am leaving for a 3 day trip... will the timer setting turn my light on and off each day even though my phone isn’t in blue tooth range?
Yes, it will! You simply have to set it up once - the light will continue operating with those setting indefinitely!
Hi is there a way to do a red and white sunrise for an hour. Then white throughout the day then blue for the evening, I can only figure out how to do white throughout the day then blue in the evening

Can you use aquasky in the Fluval Flex 15 gallon?
The Flex 9 and 15 have their own exclusive LED light bars, the Aquasky is not a fit for those models.
Befor I go and buy two for my 125, can I sync two lights up to work as one? Or do they work and program independently only.
Hi there, absolutely! First, connect to one light and adjust the settings to your liking. Then, save these settings as a custom profile. Then, connect to the other light and export the saved profile to it. Both lights will now be operating as one! 👍

Roxy, are you located in Europe/UK? The Aqua Sky units for those markets ship with T5 adapters for plug and play, yes it will fit in the Roma series.

So how you import your save, since there is export button only? And how you start your auto mode?
Export is to export whichever program preset or the ones you have created from Export to the light unit itself. For example, go to export, choose one of the preset programs by selecting it, then hit export, you will see that the light unit changes to that program. When you create a program save it and then identify it, it will show up in the Export section along with the preset programs that are already there. To put the app in auto mode simply tap it, the button will show as white.
Is there anything coming out to retro fit the 2.0 planted version??
Unfortunately retrofitting is not possible.

You can use the light unit without the app and increase decrease light intensity using the power button. As for light color temperature you do require the app to make changes that affect that parameter.
Has the update to the app happened yet so that I can turn the lights off for a while in the light cycle?

I have just purchased an Aquasky and am trying to program the auto settings. I have changed the settings for each time period and light setting, saving each setting as I go. I have saved the settings in 'Save as' and exported to the light. As soon as this happens the Auto display and the light level in the tank revert to the previous Auto settings, in this case the Preset - Color Boost. Is this correct? The same happens if I change to Manual and then back to Auto. How can I recover my saved settings to modify them?

I would love to see an upgrade to include the option of having multiple times of on and off, with and without sunrise and sunset. It could be very simple. The user can determine time to begin sunrise, maximum light intensity for each color, time to begin sunset, time to end Sunset and have darkness. And one can have as many of those Cycles during a 24-hour period As one wants, saving energy and keeping algae at Bay. Also, it would be nice to be able to enable the different feature modes like lightning and moon, and program them to happen on different days and different times in addition to basic light intensity settings. I don't find that these special modes work when I have the light in automatic mode currently.
We do now offer PRO mode which allows for greater flexibility in terms of time points and more. Also note that there is more to algae growth than lighting intensity and duration, nutrients, growth rates of plants kept, use of CO2, type of algae and other factors are all implicated.
@@fluval Is this PRO mode also for the 2.0? I thought this was only available on the 3.0? I'm asking this because I'm planning to buy the 2.0 AquaSky, and having a PRO mode in the app for the 2.0 also would most definitely convince me.

Hi there, I purchased the FluvalSmart light and I set it up how you instructed! However it doesn’t turn on and off at sunrise and sunset! It did one time turn it off at sunset but then the next morning it didn’t turn on! The fish tank is at my business and I don’t have my phone near it all the time! Does the phone have to be near by for it to operate automatically?? Please help!!
Francine, the unit is bluetooth controlled and as such as a chip in the light unit itself so it will continue to function when not in proximity to your mobile device. If there is a power failure you will have to re-connect the light to your mobile device to reset the clock function in the light units bluetooth chip. Is the light unit in auto mode? Unfortunately that is not possible as the AquaSky 1 series did not incorporate bluetooth.

It depends on the plants you hope to grow! For most low to medium light requiring species, one LED will be enough. If you hope to grow more demanding plants, a second LED may be necessary, or you can upgrade to the Plant 3.0 Bluetooth LED!
Please can you let me know how I make the white light brighter? It looks so dim and I don't know what to do about it!
I have it on manual - pressed the white button and the light is what I have, which looks quite yellow rather than bright white.

The black + Button is for white light, click that to increase it.
The black buttons can be used to increase and decrease the intensity of the white LEDs!
@@fluval I've tried doing that but it seems to still be more of a yellow light than a white light. Such a shame as I'm really happy with the Bluetooth connection on my phone.
Is there a manual on/off switch on the light?
No there is not. Do take note that the unit can be put into manual mode and can then be connected to a mechanical timer which would then allow that manual option as well.

Anyone know how I can run the light on two devices. Do I need to disconnect it when trying to set it up
Each device would have the app and connect independently, the light unit only needs to connect to receive program changes or a clock/time update, it does not need to be connected via bluetooth to operate the setting/program.
I would have liked the video to show what all the icons mean on the manual setting since I never had the old Fluval remote. I also won't be using the auto function as it means the lights are going to be on all day which I would have thought will result in algae build up and the plants not liking it.
It's probably too late for this to be of any use to you, but I figured out that, if you use the pro setting, you can program up to ten time settings. I have mine lit up for five hours (with a half-hour red sunrise), darker for four hours, the lit up for five hours again. At least, that's how I hope it will work.
If you have an older model without the pro setting, simply program a storm for a few hours in the middle of the day.
I had the same problem and bought API Algea Fix. After 2 days no algea all gone and it's been weeks.

Once you've saved your custom profile, hit 'Export' on the bottom of your screen, select the profile, and hit 'Export' once more!

The play and pause buttons in manual mode will stop and start dynamic features, such as the color cycle.
With the settings can you program it to turn on and off automatically?
Absolutely! Once you've programmed the settings, the light will run on its own until there's a power interruption.
Is there a way to cycle through the colors since the play button on the manual side is discontinued?
The engage color cycling in manual mode press the very bottom right hand button, not the play button.

@@mr.keller6358 You should see the RGB LEDs slowly cycle through varous shades of blue green red....place the light facing a white wall and allow it to cycle for a couple of minutes, you should see slowly changing shades....

Is export how you start running the program?
You can run a saved program by exporting it to the light unit itself or another light unit, however you don't have to, you can run a program in auto or pro mode.
I have a very important question: Does this still work if I leave home? Will the program stay on for days, even if the phone is not around?
Hi Adiran, once your LED is programmed, your smart device does not need to be in Bluetooth range to run its set schedule. hope this helps!

What's the play button for in the settings, I was aware I can have it cycling through different colours and effects, but can't fathom out how..👍
The play button is identified as "Preview" which takes you through a quick cycle to preview the program you created. You can stop anywhere in preview mode and make changes and save them, a quick review feature....

Alan, on the Aqua Sky the reason you see the non functional play button was due to a graphic transfer from the original remote that featured a play/pause function for dynamic effects, this function was discontinued. Updates are forthcoming.

Can you you turn it of all together at night ?
Yes! The light will turn off entirely at night in either Auto or Pro mode. If you use Manual mode, you'll have to turn the LED off yourself!
How do I reset the lighting after a power outage when I'm out of town?
Hello John, you would need to connect a smartphone to the light via Bluetooth. Once connected the LED will adjust itself and resume its preset based on the current time of day. 😊
