Honestly, she doesn’t get enough credit for her tone. She is so expressive.
Only humans in extreme pain can express like this
48 years old now... and her voice instantly takes me back to my childhood. I'm right back in middle school feeling all the same excitement and angst of those days. Cyndi is the voice of the 80's.
This made me think about my childhood, and all of the fading memories and family now gone forever. Life is so sad.
She is 42 years old here! BEAUTIFUL. And at 66 years in 2020 she can still kick ass...
This is honestly one of my favorite live performances of all time. She's one of those rare singers where her voice is actually more beautiful and powerful live.
She is criminally underrated as a female vocalist.
by whom?
That mic was not ready Cyndi’s voice.
An absolute eighties masterpiece! Still holds up in 2019.
Melissa G. Dixon you posted this comment in 2020 tho🤔🤔
I appreciate her more now than I did then.
It's crazy how the right words combined with the right sounds can be so powerful and timeless
Amazing brings me back to summer 84 when mtv played music videos
Cyndi Lauper is a national treasure.
This is why life is good. I hope there is an afterlife and this song is on the playlist
There is.
A year later and everything has gone to shit. But we still have this song
Well said
Ask Jesus to forgive you of all of your sins and he will. That's the way to Heaven~🕊️👑🙏
Can we make a Spotify playlist called the afterlife?
Damn that was incredible.... the stern staff got to witness some amazing performances like this over the years.
That was fucking amazing
Thank you Christopher my feelings exactly.
Ugh, my heart. She is so timeless. Love her voice, her accent, her spirit, her everything. Just an astounding woman through and through!
Papi Sorrels that was beautiful!
I cry
I'm 39 and I've been in love with her my whole life
Sick bastard.
Cyndi Lauper voice is absolutely timeless. What a beautiful and talented lady
If you're lost and you fall I will catch you time after time. Simple but beautiful lyric.
There aren't many songs that give me goosebumps but this performance of time after time is one of them
I think she is one of the sweetest famous people ever.
Her on bones. She can even act a bit. She’s amazing.
I never knew she had that kind of vocal talent. I’m blown away by the entire performance.
One of the all-time best musical performances on the Stern show.
Arguably the most beautiful song of the 1980s. I think it's a masterpiece.
She is a true legend and that violinist is incredible!
God she can bring me to tears. I grew up listening to her. Wow. From the heart. Beautiful.
Crazy to think how Howard got such golden pop culture moments out of a morning radio show; a medium that has become a line of fake phone pranks and prerecorded 10 minute interviews. Kudos, Howie!
An absolute eighties masterpiece! Still holds up in 2019.
Cyndi is timeless
Check out Lady Gaga performing on stern and other radio shows. It’s amazing.
Just heard this yesterday on the radio, couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. has to come watch the video.
This is one of those timeless (sorry for the pun) songs that no matter where and when you are, you stop and listen. You can't shut off the car when this is playing. You can't take your earbuds or headphones off, you can't pay attention to anything but those haunting instruments and vocals meshed perfectly together.
I think Cyndi is wonderful. Talented, beautiful, and kind-hearted.
That's one of the most beautiful fucking songs I've ever heard. Thank you.
She brought tears to my eyes that was so beautiful. Yeah, the mix could have been better, but not that performance. It was spot on! Cyndi - what an incredible talent! I wish her all the best!
Very few performers get better with age. Her voice is stronger, richer, and just more incredible than ever.
BeachGunner you do realize this was 24 years ago
My wife's and my first dance at our wedding reception song. Puts a lump in my throat every time I hear it. Great version. Thank you Cyndi and Rob Hyman.
reliving that first real girlfriend moment from 1984... I'm 54 now...and this song is still 'that song'... and Cyndi is still amazing..
Cyndi Lauper is one of the many voices of my childhood. Love her and that yellow hair was super cute!
You don't see this kind of thing anymore. Show up at the station, and play a song live for the world to see, not an easy thing to do
Welcome to the 25 years of "the violin is too loud" anniversary
Her voice still cuts right through you. Such heart in everthing she sings.
Cyndi Lauper amazes me again. Wow
I played this song and it brought tears to my daughters eyes.
Nothing I write would convey how amazing she is.
One of the best vocals in history. Cyndi Lauper.
Jonie is more
Even when stripped down from overproduction, this song is timeless!
Absolutely spectacular. She and Madonna arrived at the same time. There is no doubt who had more musical talent....
Robert N And still has more talent!
Yeah, I would rate them like this:
Cindi - has musical talent
Madonna - does not have musical talent
Robert N The virgin.
There's no even contest here...
Just like christina and britney
Cyndi is totally a gem. We love her. Always.
Best rendition EVER IMO. New found appreciation for this song. LOVE
Reminds me of school days back in the mid eighties 🙏♥️🙏
jason johnson me too
Her voice is so angelic
"Toime after toime"
LOL, love her accent. What an amazing voice she has.
@@matt4398
I knew someone was gonna make that joke, lol.
Hmmm, sounds perfectly normal to me when singing
keefriff99 It’s a New Yawk accent
New Yoik Girl!
Her singing voice is mostly unaffected tho
So majestic beauty here. No other words necessary
This is the most beautiful version iv heard her sing this...her voice is seasoning beautifly like she is
One of the best Voice ever
Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick
And think of you
Caught up in circles
Confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcases of memories
Time after
Sometimes you picture me
I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me, I can't hear
What you've said
Then you say, go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I will be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting
Time after time
After my picture fades and darkness has
Turned to gray
Watching through windows
You're wondering if I'm okay
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I will be waiting
Time after time
You said go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after
Time
Her roll in "we are the world" video is one of the very best she has done. Her voice is what makes it!
Songs like these Make quarantine go by so much faster. What I wouldn’t give to live back in the 80’s where good music like this was the mainstream
What a great version of this song! The instrumentation--organ, violin, dulcimer, and her voice--transcendent.
Cyndi’s voice is unique and this song came out ahead of its time. I still love it and I really like this version. So tranquil and sweet. Thank you Howard Stern!!!! Classic memory.
👀😍👏🏽❤️💯💕🔥💗🌺💋
What a gorgeous voice!! So glad I grew up in the 80s. 30+ years later in 2020, still gold!! Simply timeless...
I always loved the hell out of this woman's voice. Being from Los Angeles I trip on the way she speaks so much, in a good way. Lol she has like the thickest New York accent I've ever heard in my life and I love it. Plus she looks fairly cute here
@Dalle Smalhals big time New York accent. the north east have the craziest accents. in California we dont have one, although they probably say we do. Wisconsin or north Dakota have funny ones u have the west coast southern and north coast and northern east coast accents. Miami is the one southern accent that has the latin flavor in it
@@925_antioch_ca_rap lol, everyone has an accent you fool
@@925_antioch_ca_rap everybody has an accent. There's no default way to sound.
She is beyond brilliant and absolutely sexy beyond words!!
Hey Now lmfao this comment is golden
I was going to say "Wow Cyndi looks great these days!" then I saw that this was recorded in 1995 lol.
She still looks great. ua-cam.com/video/TbmrrbiC-Ow/v-deo.html
But she was 43! So still looked good for middle age.
That was absolutely POWERFUL. WOW
Wow, I remember when this song came out and I liked it, it was a catchy pop song but to listen to it now and her version here, really says a lot about how talented she really is and how this song has stood on it's on for so long. Such great music.
Thank you Cindi.
How could anyone with a soul down vote this.
There are songs that exist that have the ability to find the painful memories that you have stored away. This is one of those songs. Beautiful and hurtful at the same time. I miss you Fontane. Never thought you'd be the one to stop my heart. I hope your happy and have everything you were looking for.
Dayum that was good. People have always underestimated her vocals. She can lose the affectation and do some pretty amazing shit. Great musician.
Shocked at how great her live vocals were! Really an awesome talent!
Lost for coherent sentences. Love her hair colour, her individual style, that sparkling vivacious persona, her humour, humility and of course that powerhouse multi octave voice. She arrived around the same as Madonna but there’s no doubt Cyndi is the multi-talented musical maestro.
This performance was absolutely beautiful. Her voice is top 10
One of the 80s anthems at its best 90s version. Genius
Beautiful
February of 2021 and I am still listening!!
she's a masterful songsmith..a highly underrated songwriter
5:15 will always be the highlight of this classic
That mic was not ready Cyndi’s voice.
I wasnt ready for howards voice.
PEAKED! lmao
it looks like a drum mic. meaning it should be used to a beating. she was justway outta the mics range of awesome lol. shes so cool.
Will Sittig stupid fucking 57
they really should have used the sm7b on her voice on the sm57 on the instrument...Would have had a much better sound.
Didn't know that Cyndi Lauper plays the Mountain Dulcimer! Way cool!
This woman is the definition of talent. Absolutely brilliant talent.
The recording that got away. She gave them MTV unplugged. They did the best they could. Great moment.
ALWAYS magical in the Howard Stern studio. Everything this team does, turns to gold. God do I love, what Howard, Robin, Fred, even Gary (lol💕) and the team, do for us each day. The master orchestrator Howard, does it again! To Cyndi, just a beautiful girl; your creativity is timeless! 🤘🏻💕🤘🏻
best decade 90s ,,,,I miss it
Such a sad song... Love how closely and attentively Jackie is listening
Manny Pacquiao killing it on the violin!
🤣
Awesome!
John Lennon killing it on keyboards...
Larry Campbell on fiddle. Played with Bob Dylan 99-04
Sorry 97-04
One of the top 5 pop voices of all time. I'd listen to her sing the phone book.
Undisputed classic performance
I was born in ‘82.
Started listening to Howard in ‘99.
I should have paid more attention to the great music in the 80’s and 90’s.
Took that shit for granted.
One of the best songs ever written
Jackie is thinking I shouldn’t be in this room with all these talented people
Icon! Strong! Beautiful
holy fuck that was amazing
What a phenomenal voice and just an incredible song.
Ozzy killing it on the Piano !
Thanks for the ride.
Watching during COVID times!
Up there with one of the best songs ever written!..
Look at this beautiful moment, not even a single cellphone recording the performance. Everyone just enjoying this moment.
nothing but wow.
I love this woman.
These live performances are very special.
damn violin. if it was half as loud we could have heard some serious vocals here. Amazing vocalist, and very underrated!
Just Wow... Beautiful song.
First time i think that this is a great song. Thx Howi
