    If you can find some 2" or 2 1/4" inch fire hose to use as a strap protector, works great

    I know this video is 2yrs old lol but your statement about not being able to feel if you're damaging a trailer is incorrect. You can certainly feel/hear when your forks are touching a trailer. I can't speak for all loaders but I certainly try my best to keep my forks off the transporters trailer. Loading a wedge is not as easy as it looks depending upon how high the inner or outer rails are and how much clearance the particular vehicle being loaded has. Your trailer in this video is ideal as far as wedge trailers are concerned, gradual slope and not too steep of an angle. I appreciate your video, it's actually nice to have input from a knowledgeable transporter. This actually happens to be my location that I load out of lol but this video was before my time. Thank you sir and have a good day.

    If that first car were a fiat or Smart car, I reckon she wouldn't have cleared due to the wide open center on the Kaufman. One of things I didn't like about mine, some narrow vehicles just didn't fit. I would turn down UTVs and small cars due to that. But to be fair, those were few and far between.
    I loaded at a Copart in Avon, MN last week - simple as could be. In and out in less than 20 mins, picking up one UTV... and I took my sweet time taking pics for the customer prior to load. And, it was like 15 degrees out with ice so I wasn't being stupid fast either.
    Good stuff LM... ride safe out there.

  • @shylohcarter9220
    @shylohcarter9220 4 роки тому +1

    Question for ya, with freight the shipper loads you and you strap down, right? So with cars, do they only load you when the car doesn't run? For running cars do you drive them on? Just trying to get a feel for what we'll be responsible for.

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  4 роки тому

      Most freight loads are loaded by the shipper, excluding some drivable equipment. Yes, I load every single car myself unless it’s inoperable from an auction and the forklifts put them on and take them off at the receiver.

    • @shylohcarter9220
      @shylohcarter9220 4 роки тому

      That's what it was looking like from all the videos I've watched. Looking like we'll be doing mostly cars with the area we are in. I was looking closer at your straps. The straps I have saved to buy were freight straps, looking for car straps now. I had read that straps need to have the working load printed on the strap, I guess that makes better if the tag fades or rips, but I couldn't see anything printed on your straps, so is it not necessary? Just keep an eye for wear on the tag on the strap with working load printed on it?
