Nice work. As a big rig driver same methods apply…so 2 dual tire tandem axles would be a better option. Yes is an extra set of tires but is more stable and can take more payload. 3 axles put lots of stress on the middle tire while turning. Also hotshot haulers should always shock the trailer wheels by engaging the E brake/Emergency Brake while vehicle in neutral. Shock the trailer wheels and then put the truck in Parking mode. You do not want to be loading/unloading cars and having that trailer rocking back and forth putting all that stress on the transmission locking pin. Couple of shocks on each side of trailer front and back of a wheel will do the job and will save you a transmission expense on the long run. Other than that safety first drivers.
Great setup. Please bring back the videos they were just starting to get interesting. I was wondering about the cost of the trailer? Look forward to the next one.
First time using my wedge for vehicle's. Its a 53 foot kaufman i need to load two trucks. How should i place them on the trailer... sorry only ever hauled trailers and boats with the trailer so not sure how to properly place two truck's on it
@@vetwaytransportation Thank you, i just subcribed to the channel. i am trying to start a NON CDL Set up, can you tell me what trailer, and truck do you reccomend, and if i have a 3 car wedge or should i get a 2 car enclosed to start. how much car weight can i hold in those trailers 3 car or 2 car enclosed. i under the GVWR part truck and trailer have to be under 26k lbs. i am confused about how much weight of car can i haul. what is the lightest truck i can get that can haul the 3 cars, but also be light curb weight, this way i can maximixe the weight of the cars i am hauling if that makes sense?
Thanks. The truck is a 2020 ram 3500 tradesman. I used a high wedge trailer so there was no need to take off the bed. The truck was 60k in 2020 when I bought it.
I don’t have any problems. Honestly it really depends on the other two vehicles behind it that determines how heavy the 1st one can be. I typically only put small or mid sized sedans up there. I also load it backwards to distribute the weight properly. The heaviest I’ve put there was 4200 lb dodge charger.
more than likely you will. A trailer that will fit 4 cars will more than likely a cdl setup. If it isn't, after you load it with 4 cars it will be lol.
What’s good fam. I’m still hauling.. upgraded from 3 to 4 and also upgraded the truck. Still have the ram as well. I’ve learned more than I can tell you in a comment lol.
I'm looking for a 3 car trailer in South Central Missouri . Any suggestions 🤔 I know most people say go for a 5 car but I think 3 would be fine. I only have a 1 car trailer now .
Awesome set-up and nice video. I'm glad I came across your video because I have a 5th wheel in my truck bed and was looking to use a gooseneck but didn't know the name of the adapter you use to bridge that gap. What is the name of it and where do you purchase it? 👍🏾 Liked, Comment & Subscribed.
Hi, quick question your trailer is a 53' ? I'm thinking on the 44' Kaufman to be safe with the length I have a 3500 RAM crew can 8' bed any advise? be safe man
Nice setup! I'm getting the exact same trailer with a 2022 Ram Laramie Crew Cab, but I'm worried about the overall length. Is your setup over the 65ft allowed by DOT?
It’s just barely over. Best bet is to get a cab and chassis that way you’re registered as a tractor. You won’t have to worry about the length laws as much. I haven’t been bothered yet and neither has anyone else I know with the same setup.
As I am just beginning, I’ve yet to scale a full load. This video was for demonstration purposes as I needed to familiarize myself with my equipment first. That was a personal vehicle. I am currently waiting for my DOT and mc to become active before I run for hire. My trailer does have a 12k Badland winch and a battery. Thank you for your comment.
@@vetwaytransportation Of you haven't ready, run it to the truckstop scale and get an empty base line so you can calculate your load. Are you CDL or non? You probably know this, but make sure your truck is full of fuel and has everything on board you plan to carry. Of your going to sleep on the truck, remove the back seat and build a light weight wood frame then use foam for mattress. Use a 6 inch thick form or it will be too hard for good sleep. Tow Piglet has a good video on the bed. You might consider removing the truck bad as well, it takes off about 600lbs that gives you more paying weight and every pound is money. measure your length as well to make sure your under 65ft total as some Troopers are cracking down on that. Removing the truck bed negates length laws in out states except CA, IL, NC, IA that have different laws. If your nonCDL stay out of CA and NC as they have laws that penalize anything over 10K Without a CDL. Anyway, best of luck to your new adventure, it can be fun and make a lot of money

I’m sorry I don’t. If you were located near me I wouldn’t mind helping out.

Nice!! Thanks brother you as well!
How much cars can u fit on the 43 foot ?
Thanks for the video, I have a question where I can get the loads?
I find load through through central dispatch primarily. I also gain customers through word of mouth.
Man I'm from Paris Tn. I see those tn tags on that trailer. Where ya at man
Coming out of Memphis brother
Do u set parking breaks on the cars while their on trailer too ?
Yes I do. The less movement the better.
OG, just doing the training for a freight broker. I see that it is more common to use a RAM then a large truck.
What do you mean?
I mean pick up trucks with 3 slots seems to be more popular then big trucks
@@cyberspace7668 I understood that. I’m talking about doing the training for a freight broker.
Nice work
Are any of those 3-5 car trailers adjustable to run both w/ your pickup and semi?
Yes as long as it has the king pin attachment.
What kind of straps are those
Vulcan over the tire straps
For heavy pick-ups 4 straps give you more safety.
I put 4 straps on anything that has 4 wheels
what model pick up truck is that? dodge ram 3500? which model?

Excellent video! Just wondering if you’ve had any problems loading cars like Hondas or Toyotas, does the front bottom scrape the ramp?
Thank you. I haven't had a single vehicle scrape as of now. My ramps are 9ft so that gives me a better angle.
do you have any issues with the weight over the rear truck axle? How heavy of a vehicle can you put up there, without exceeding the axle rating?

10k in 2021. You can find them a lot cheaper now.
