  • Most of the content were taken from various videos from my old hard disks and some are still online. This video has some grip history too. All thanks to the Gripsters who documented everything. Bill Piche from the gripboard, Jedd Johnson, Juha Harju, Igor (Kasthan on the gripboard), Kevin Bussi, David Horne, and so on. Sorry if I missed your name, but everyone is credited.
    There are two questions I am asked frequently. One is how strong Andrew Durniat was/ I can assure you that he was extremely strong. He even out-lifted Mike Burke in the 2" V-Bar lift, when Mike was outperforming everyone, even Mark Felix. I was also told by Igor that Andrew Durniat lifted the Millennium dumbbell to a platform.
    Another question is to who the Millennium dumbbell which Odd Haugen lifted belongs. To answer that one must know the history of that bell. I briefly wrote about the Millennium bell history in one of my videos before, but here I go. The original Inch dumbbell was sold to Kim Wood (The Bengals strength coach) and his son John Wood by Dave Prowse in the year 2000, the Britishers wanted another challenge bell to perform in their British version of AOBS dinner which is called OHF. So Steve Gardener and Alan Radley PhD co-founded the Millennium dumbbell. I believe the foundry which made the bell was in Belvedere, London, England.
    The Millennium mold was created and 7 bells were made before the mold was destroyed I believe. The 7 bells were made in two batches. The first batch birthed 4 Millenniums. #1 was owned by Alan and now by Carl Mayerscough. #2 was owned Steve Gardener and now by me. The #3 was sold to Ergul Salih and the #4 was sold to Wag Bennett; and when he passed away, his wife Dianne Bennett kept the bell in a safe place with their initials on it.
    Then came the second batch which birthed dumbbell # 5,6, and 7 in the year 2002. They were all sold to Kim Wood too. Kim Wood later sold the 7th bell to Joe Roark, a strength historian in the year 2003. In 2004 Joe sold it to Joel Sward. In late 2004/early 2005, Joel Sward sold it to Shane Larson. In June 2006, Shane sold it to Kevin Bussi. That is when Odd Haugen lifted the Millennium Dumbbell.
    That is it for now.

      You bet! I also have your strict Millennium dumbbell lift. You were one of the best gripsters to leave grip sports early on.

    Good to see RVJ in this video. What's a COC equivalent of Mash Monster 3

    • @GripAlawadhi
      @GripAlawadhi  5 місяців тому +1

      A Mash Monster (MM) gripper 3 is definitely harder than an average CoC #3.5. Maybe like a very hard CoC #3.5 which is on the rare side (yes grippers do vary a lot, but there are averages). I myself am certified on the MM 1 & 2 but failed the MM 3 by a small margin. I think I still have that video of MM 3 attempt in my channel.
      But yeah, RVJ was a very known gripster with very strong grip. There was a rumor that back in 2004 RVJ one handed pulled up while holding a blob50 and curling it strict. If that was true, which can be, then it was never replicated.

    A good number of these pictures look like they're from the cyberpump gallery from years ago. I had no idea you were on the gripboard that long ago! I also didnt know that John passed away 😢 Thank you for the nostalgia

    Cleve´s hand length at the Yukon jack was written as 9 1/4in, and it looks like it here. IDK how to believe this. Florian is clearly very deep below Cleve in the comparison, and well, there is the Yukon Jack stuff. The width was almost 6 in or something, and a 1 5/8 thumb. Felix´s hands are over 10in, and they are definitely a good bit longer than Cleve´s as shown.

    How would u compare the hg 400 to the captains of crush number 3 or 3.5 mste?

    • @GripAlawadhi
      @GripAlawadhi  5 місяців тому +3

      The HG's are all over the place. Mine is like 2.3 on a CoC scale. I heard of some harder than a CoC 3 but I am not sure. The only thing I am sure of is the HG varies A LOT.

    Would u say that young guy is stronger then khaled mate?

    • @GripAlawadhi
      @GripAlawadhi  5 місяців тому +4

      Not sure (if you mean Wes). We would never know until they meet. Wes never lifted a Millennium too. I mean Khaled is extremely strong. Wes did beat him in grippers though. But don't forget that Khaled achieved the best of him in grip in almost 3 months of training once or twice a week. There are many strong people out there.
