  • Ron Mazza is a great athlete from upstate New York. He certified closing the IronMind CoC #3 back in 1995 along with his gym mates Eric Fitzimmons and Mark Smith. That gym was owned by Bob Bollenbach. Ron Mazza was mainly armwrestler but the guy was strong all rounded. He rarely ever did grip. We see here trying to continental cheat clean the 172 pounds Inch Dumbbell the first time trying it. The video is way back in 2006 from the Deisel Crew production. The original video is here • Stronger Than All 2006... on Jedd Johnson channel @gripstrength ( / @gripstrength .
The next is him lifting the Millennium Dumbbell back in June 2006 the first time he tries it with no warm ups besides few attempts on the same bell. It wasn't a full lift but rather to knee height. Ron has average size hands at 7.75". Yet he was world class by all means. The footage is lost and I found it in one of my hard drives when few people asked me to find Dave Ostlund bends. The lift was also witnessed by Dan Cenidoza and few others. You can read more about the lift on the GripBoard www.gripboard.com/topic/19432... (title Mazza Lifts the Millennium!).
Two people founded the Millennium Dumbbell as mentioned before. Steve Gardener and Alan Radley PhD. This is in Steve own words on the GripBoard topic titled The Millennium Challenge Dumbbell (www.gripboard.com/topic/1270-... ) :-

I cannot fathom how long he held it without dropping it while trying to clean it. Dude's grip seems unreal.

Ridiculous how long he grinded for that clean and press. Iron grip and willpower.

Good to watch those old videos again! Seems to me that I'm not the only one who saved those for later! I have all old InchDB videos! 😁

Dude was a monster, very few people in the world could throw up that inch like that and considering he did get that Mill bell of the ground surely would have one of the strongest grips ever?
