@@cv7958 Yes but you're missing rhe point. There isn't as much detail as Id like. I don't think they necessarily focus on them enough (what I'd like to see is the breadth of antioxidants available talked about and also graded in terms of their ORAC rating. I get a lot more content on vit c, retinoids, sunscreen, niacinamide etc. Also, this is the first video where I've heard antioxidants actually graded in terms of their importance- just below sunscreen.
Such excellent content! Thank you for mentioning examples of products from botanicals to topicals, food, and supplements. Wish I had this information back when I was young!
I like to use green tea extract as a toner. I found a brand on Amazon that contains only tea and glycerin. I wet a cotton round, then apply a few drops of extract. It is too sticky to use full strength, but it is economical and my skin seems to like it. I had some ascorbic acid powder, so I added a touch to the green tea extract bottle, although I also like to refrigerate my skin care for maximum freshness. I put some on under my Cosrx snail mucin essense, and they both feel lightweight on my skin. Of course, sunscreen can still go on after that. This way I get tons of antioxidant protection in addition to blocking the uv rays with sunscreen.

Dr. Lİm Please answer please please, I have Type 1 rosacea beginning level, I just bought a face serum and it has lactobacillus and saccharomyces ferment in it. Can I use it, is it bad for my rosacea?
Hi Dr dray recommends NOT TO break open a capsule of Vitamin E and apply to the face as it can be very irritating????Why do dermatologists have such a difference of opinions, it gets so confusing sometimes 😩
Formulating a skincare product with vitamin E is completely different than using straight up vitamin e oil in high concentrations (breaking open capsules).
Vitamin E is also nearly useless for the skin. It's not a very good antioxidant and offers absolutely zero benefit to the skin. In fact, it's been found to worsen scarring and collagen formation.
Thx for the great info! Can you please start linking ur IG with a link in the video desc!!! You might get more ppl to follow if you do... or im just lazy idk
I believe Dr Dray has a video on glutathione. DrLiv (Switzerland) has one also. Dr Sam Bailey (NZ) who's not a derm but GP/researcher has a video as well.
I'd think ingesting something (in safe doses) would most of the time be better. Especially since there's so much more to our body than just the face and neck. But topical antioxidants can actually help to stabilise your other skincare. Sometimes it can help with your sunscreen efficacy. Of course this depends on the product, and needs to be reviewed individually. But if one has the time to do research, and the money to spend on some extra skincare product, then why not?
@@annamilla1065 Most organ meats don't contain vitamin C. Only the liver, and you would need to eat it raw(!!!) to get vitC. Because in heated liver it's broken down. There is a reason why lack of fresh plant food causes scurvy. There's also some in (fish) eggs and whale blubber (=muktuk), hence the Inuit and Chukchi people can survive without much plant food.

Thanks so much for this. Not too many channels focus on antioxidants and they're so important.
Almost all of the dermatologists on UA-cam have discussed antioxidants….

Would be really helpful to have an affordable anti oxidant for each of the types you recommend please
tnx fir your information …so useful
Thanks for a nice video -I just didn’t understand if we need to apply it on the skin or to take as a supplement…?
Same question. It sounds like he is saying topically because he did mention the skinceuticals product, but I’m not 100% sure
You need to do both, basically attack the free radicals from the inside and out
@@faceonnailsdonehairdid totally agree I went from oily acne prone seriously combination skin (oily in the t zone and dry on the cheeks) to acne free and glowing in 4 weeks. Its a worth while investment.
Both. But do keep in mind certain antioxidants work better/differently when ingested internally versus applied topically (e.g., vitamin c).

Be careful with vitamin e as its fat soulbele your body stores it, bets to consult a doctor first
Interesting. This is kind of opposite of what I learned from dr dray lol.
She's got nothing against antioxidants but she's not a fan of vitamin c.
Do caffein applied topicaly can burn fat (on the face, like the cheeks) ?
No, that’s not possible sorry, the only way to lose that fat is losing overall weight or getting cosmetic procedure
pls fix my life. my acne scars just destroys my mind
My acne scar r becoming a decreasing by using AHA peeling solution and retinol 5 percent from ordinary lm using it from last year
You can try an acid like apple cider vinegar (diluted) or alpha arbutin!
I believe he has videos on acne scars that might help.
Try to include azelaic acid / alpha arbutin/vitamin c/ beta glucon/snail mucin essence/ niacinamide/ cica ingredients in your skin routine.
tretinoin is the holy grail
