Waiting for international shipping to open so I can buy everything she sells me! Seriously. I’m blown away by how informative she is in all her videos.
me too
God I love this woman. Not only have you made the absolute best product (including the container!) but it's also no where near as expensive as other brands. I'm so grateful and hope you are so so blessed Dr Shereene! 🥰
Can you review Image skin care power C serum?
What is the name of her product? I didn't catch that.
@@Sadrose21 her Vitamin C moisturizer is called Active Seal from her skincare line "Major Fade"
@@andreamrelitz Thank you!
Are we looking at the same product? I replayed it twice and thought Dr. Idriss said the Vit C cost 15.00 which did seem unusually inexpensive for a Dermatologist brand. I think I totally misunderstood though...because on her site it sells for 58.00 per 1.7 oz Jar. A little steep for my wallet. It is comparable in price to some of the others she put forward. I am sure it is awesome though.
I truly do enjoy watching Dr. Shereene's videos. She is full of helpful advice. If I lived in NY...I'd probably see her for a procedure of some sort...in the future.
I am very bad at focusing on videos but I was completely committed to everything you were saying and I’m definitely a new subscriber. I love that you keep it real and educate everyone at the same time in your videos. Thank you!!
Dr. I love all your helpful videos. I lives in Miami Fl as you know the sun can b brutal here, and sometimes is hard to find Doctors that are motivated to give good advice and recommendations. You have no idea how much you have helped me all those years ( I discovered your Chanel during Covid) and learned so much ever since. 🙏🥰
Dr. Shereene I absolutely love your pillow talk derm line! I’ve been using it since January and It has definitely already made a difference in my skin. It’s very hydrating and I have sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate it at all ☺️ I will continue to repurchase it! I can’t wait to see what else you may come up with down the road!
Singularly the best round up of the Vit C subject matter. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge in such a comprehensive yet understandable way.
I used to buy the super expensive l-ascorbic acid serums until I found the CeraVe one. It's amazing and doesn't degrade because the packaging is airtight. I LOVE it!
Your passion for your chosen topics is infectious….. bang on the table and let’s go! Great to see.
Dr. Sherreene, where have you been all my life?! You are amazing.
Hi Dr. Idriss! Can you please do a video on propolis, its purpose, and its pros/cons? I like it because I do feel like it boosts radiance, but it sometimes irritates my sensitive/reactive skin. I’d love to learn more about the ingredient and how/if I should incorporate it into my routine. Thank you!😊
Magnificent breakdown, this is exactly what I've been looking for as I search for a new vitamin c serum. Thank you so much!
My virtual skincare bestie. So solid, so genuine…why am I just now finding you? I needlessly tortured myself through all the other popular channels and still left confused by their content and annoyed by their personalities. Oh well, that’s done. Many effusive thanks!
Thankyou for providing scientific information, in an easy to understand way. Showing us products that are varying prices and the difference between them, you are a gem. Love your channel.
What great information! You are a gem Dr. Shereene!
Would really love to hear more about growth factors and copper peptides...should they be used in the am or pm and what products can they be used with?
Thank-you Dr. Idriss. You have done your research to break it all down. Extremely helpful.
Man, Skinceuticals is taking part in the “inflation” free for all I see. It was $166 just last year, now $182? Nope. Drawing the line. Timeless, here I come.
Yes!! I was literally shocked when I went to buy it last time. Watch next year it’s gonna be $200
Sad. Just bought it and thought the price had increased. (Don't think I was charged quite as much as $182 though). My last bottle lasted almost a full 5 months. I love this product.
That’s insane. For that price it needs to give me a full face lift, liposuction and clean my house.
I love Timeless 😊
What is going on!? with these prices!
I just went to get my favorite moisturizer. Lancôme went from $50, to 80 now is 135! 😑
and the night cream is now 160 🤪 No way! gotta find another brand now 🤦🏻♀️
The timing of this is perfect! I bought the l'oreal vit c serum just before xmas bc it was on special offer in Boots. I never loved it bc the salicylic acid is too drying for my skin anyway, but the dropper style bottle that you're always complaining about proved its inefficacy recently as it's totally oxidised now and I don't want to finish it. I'm afraid it will do more harm than good. I was literally thinking this morning, I wonder what vit c I should go for now instead. So thank you for reading my mind! :)
The most awaited video!! Came right in time. Thank you for everything that you do, Dr. Shereene! God bless you more 💗
This is the best video I have ever watched on health and beauty! I have learned so much on VC that I immediately understand why I needed VC in my fight against wrinkles and dark spots!! Thank you so much - by the way your talk is also very fun to watch!!
Oh man this was so good! Super helpful as I’m currently on the search for a new vitamin C product. Thank you so much for all your research and explanations, very much appreciated!!
Such a timely video! Thank you so much for this breakfown
Love your videos! Would love to know more about growth factors (what they do, effects of longterm use and recommendations)!
This was EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you so much!!❤
It would be very helpful to have some tips from you for the women who are going in menopause because skin is one of the first thing which will be affected, please do a video about it!! Thank you 🥰🙏😊
Agree
Literally obsessed with every damn word that comes out of her mouth, my gal, my guru and the actually “bomb” of skincare! Listen up bitches, she’s the one!! 🙌🏽
You need to get a life.
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the timestamps, thank you so much.
I would love a video on which other active ingredients you can combine or use in the same days as each different form of vitamin c!
I absolutely loved this video! Would enjoy seeing more of these specific topic videos. It helps so much!!! Greetings from Michigan! 😊
This was really helpful, thanks! I'd love to know more about growth factor and what it's supposed to do.
I love THDA! Been using the hermetically sealed vanicream version. I have sensitive skin and it's the only C I can handle. The packaging is also so well thought out. It's been about 2 months and I'm noticing that the darkness under my eyes is starting to even out!
Shereen this hair colour looks really good with your skin tone!
As a lover of science and knowing how things work, I love your detailed explanation of how ingredients and cells work ❤
Thank you so much for the great class you gave us on Vitamin C.
It would be a great topic to talk about scalp products and how do they work. Thank you again
I second that! As an eczema sufferer and constant head scratcher 😅
After watching one of your early videos, I have now been using the summer fridays serum for >6 months and really love it. I use it every morning with zero irritation or redness. The max I could use L-ascorbic acid was 2-3x/week. With that came redness, irritation and the inability to use tretinoin more than 2x/wk. Now I use tretinoin nightly, again with zero irritation. GAME CHANGER!! My cosmetic derm was even a bit surprised at the change because she didn’t originally approve of abandoning Skinceuticals. I am just finishing a bottle of summer fridays and going to try the pillowtalk derm when it’s back in stock.
Super informative as usual. Keep up the amazing work!!
I loved the updated vitamin C video!!
Dr. Shereene, can you please do a video on pregnancy skincare for the body and face? What is is safe and what should be avoided? And common misconceptions about skin and pregnancy ex stretch marks, sun spots, discoloration, mineral vs chemical sunscreen? There is so much conflicting information and the pressure to switch to all “clean” beauty while being pregnant and I would love to hear your thoughts.
I assume she have done it.
I imagine you know to avoid retinoids in any form?
Great video, thank you! Might it be time to do a deep dive on copper peptides? And how to use them in a skin care routine?
Also…. Can copper peptides be used with vitamin C? Thanks!
This is one of the most useful vitamin c videos I've ever seen. I've been using Andalou Naturals night creams, moisturizer, sunblock and cleansers in a variety of ways for a few years because they feel good on my skin and my skin is very sensitive. But I could never figure out if any dermatologists actually supported the brand. At least with this video I was able to see that my vitamin c day cream has MAP, Dr. Idris' least favorite and useful! It's good to know. I use a lot of their products that aren't vitamin c and have hyaluronic acid instead but still good to know.
your videos are my med school study break; LOVE YOU SO MUCH 🤩🤩🤩
Best video i have seen to understand types of vit c
I finished my first bottle of the Skin Ceuticals a few weeks back and saw all the comments praising Timeless. I ordered the 20% (I tolerate L-Ascorbic well) and so far it’s too soon to tell how I feel but I love the pump. I can’t wait to try yours, when I get through all my current moisturizers. Thanks for this deep dive. I love me some vitamin C
How do you find the Timeless vitamin C now?
I got your moisturizer and I’m obsessed ❤ great price, great PLAY TIME (use all over my chest) leaves me silky smooth and I can see a difference. Please don’t ever stop making this!!!
Love your videos as always! Also love the setup! ☕️🧡
I love the Allies of Skin 35% vit C. 25% Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid and 10% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. And also love Major Fade Active Seal! 💜
Do you feel it's as effective as 15% l-ascorbic acid
Loved this video! I have your whole product line, all I add to it is my Tretinoin and eye cream and I’m done. I’d like to see a video regarding laser/micro needling therapies for keeping skin vibrant and decreasing lines, aging gracefully…comparing fraxel, clear & brilliant, Morpheus8, other micro needling etc. which devices are best for what and how often to do them.
Thanks!
Stay blessed, love your informative videos that cut straight to the point.
Awesome video. Very informative. Thanks doctor!
I have only used Paulas Choice Vitamin C , my skin loves it !!
Dr. Shereene, this video has answered so many of my questions about the Vitamin C serum I use. I have been on a skin care regimen developed by an M.D. for 6 weeks. The few dark spots that I have on my face have lightened considerably and my overall skin tone has improved. Thank you so much!
May I ask which products you use that get rid of your dark spots? It would be so greatly appreciated immensely!!! Glad to hear you have had success with your skin regimen!😊
My skin care products were developed by another physician. The three basic products are 1) a non-foaming cleanser 2) Vitamin C serum and 3) moisturizer that contains retinol.I use the products in the morning and evening. The key is consistency in any skincare regimen. I'm sure that Dr. Idriss has a similar skincare line on her website. Hope this helps!@@kellyvendrasco1945
Is it Karam MD skin?
Yes it is.....I use the Trifecta@@TheYazmanian
@@SharonSmith-SWFL I had a feeling! He is fabulous. I want to try Trifecta and also Shireen Idris' Major Fade Active Seal moisturizer. They both are very knowledgeable.
Looks really good, I love that it does not look too sporty so it goes well with your outfits as well❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for laying this out! I had tried the yellow Timeless and Neutrogena capsules in the past, and both dried the hell out of my skin. I had given up on vitamin c. I didn't realize there were different kinds. I'm going to be trying your Active Seal!! Very excited. I LOVE the concept of your packaging---being able to get every last ounce by opening it up in the end! ❤
My hubby and I use - and LOVE - the Maelove GlowMaker, which seems to be a dupe of Skinceuticals, but for only $30.
If anyone is looking for a less expensive THD serum, Vanicream has one for sensitive skin for about $20. I just bought it, so I don't know about the results. But, it has a 5% concentration of THD ascorbate and ceramides, and it comes in an opaque tube with a pump. It's definitely missing the bells and whistles that the pillow talk one has, but I'm still excited to try it.
Hii is it good?
I have been watching your videos for a long time.. you have guided me in my skin journey..!!! Always helpful !!! Lots of love to you ❤️
You are so informative and knowledgeable. Thank you for sharing all of your insightful informaiton. My grandma came from Beirut - My grandfather's family from Syria and Armenia. ☺
Was wondering what she thought about Maelove. I’ve been using it for 6 months now. I really can see the brightness of my skin!
I was also hoping she would talk about it
I love and use that one as well 🥰
i’ve used the maelove vitamin c for over a year now!! it’s my absolute go-to. it’s affordable and makes my skin literally glow - especially with consistency!
I have been a fan of yours for years and used your original Vitamin C video as my bible. Happy to see this is a refresher. I religiously use SkinCeuticals and for anyone who uses it- I purchased an airless makeup serum pump, and fill it with the product and refrigerate it, which makes a profound difference. If anyone is purchasing this make sure you purchase the darker tinted bottles not clear. When I am finished with the product I clean and sanitize it and then add my next bottle. Going to now try Pillow Talk! Congrats on launching your line.
How do you sanitize your serum pump so you can reuse?
By using very hot water from my tea kettle 160º, once it is rinsed well, I fill it 1/4 up with isopropyl alcohol 90% or greater, shake etc. then let it dry
Hi! Where did you buy your makeup serum pump? Did you buy it empty, or was it first filled with something else that you used up first before filling with the C E Ferulic? Thank you!
Tysm for this video - very clear anf helpful. I have a few vitamin c serums standing in my cabinet and this helped me find out which one contains what and which one to use atm where my skin is more on the sensitive side - especially when you take the time to share products linked to the Ingredients it’s very helpful! love your channel and learn from you ☺️🙏🏼👌🏼
Such an informative video! I had no idea! Thank you so so much that's so helpful!
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I’m very late to the skincare routine game (I’m 37🫣) BUT you are helping me to put together a simple and informed routine. Thank you! Question: is there a way to “tame” or handle-with-care skin tags on the face and body? I have some skin tags on the body, but recently noticed a new small one on the eyelid. I’m scared it will grow and make my eyesight worse 😅
I feel like nobody is talking about rosacea and combination skin, also Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea - what are the best treatments, care? if you don’t have dry skin and red swollen bumps… - I guess never mind about other types of rosacea…if possible it would be really nice to get some advice for us with milder types ❤
I love your content!!!
Amazing….Dr. Shereene is beautiful, brilliant and personable. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!💕
I have oily, super sensitive skin and I love Vitamin C! The first one I tried was 10% and I had to mix it with another product because it was causing stinging and redness on its own. It takes gradual geting used to. Now I use a 5% serum from Purito and I find it mild enough to apply every other day.
Never tried vitamin c
Should I just try this or timeless
make sure u using the real vitamin c VERSION..not the mix one on the market
Thank you for this rec. Going to Stylevanna now to order
This video is more than helpful. I was struggling to understand the difference between all these types of Vit C. Could you please do a video about retinol? Thank you Doctor ❤️
Im sure she already did. Check it out.
Looking forward to your products being available in the UK - love your videos!
As a science geek I adore your videos and that you talk about the science & facts
Can you pls talk about the differences between and pros and cons of microdermabrasion, micro needling, chemical peels, and laser treatments? And also how to combine these with actives in our routine? Hugs from CO ❤😊
I second this.
Also cons on skin of color
Yes, PLEASE! Esp the difference in what it’s treating e.g. scarring and if it can be used on thin areas. I have an appointment for micro needling on the outer parts of my eyelids due bad scarring from surgery but I’m apprehensive since the skin is so thin there. (I got it done once n I was too scared to go back because it was so painful since the needle was pretty much going against orbital bone). They’re also recommending microdermabrasion to help smooth surface of scar but I’m also unsure since the skin is already so thin. 😢
Yessss. ESP when on tretinoin, I’ve no idea what kind of treatments I can do. I’m told to layoff treat 2 weeks before and after a laser facial but that is just not possible and I do not want to stop the retinization process every month. 😢
Agreed! And can you discuss the Lyma Laser? So few unbiased, medical minds reviewing. Thanks!
Is Collagen needling a good idea? I'm getting it done in a series of treatments and it looks promising. What's your thoughts?
Hi Dr. Idriss! Love your channel!! I would love a video about coenzyme Q10! ❤️❤️
I cannot wait to purchase your products. I definitely will be finding a way to do so if I end up traveling this year to the states.
Wow , that’s amazing and so much more to all, theses products thank you so much 😊 for sharing your knowledge with us all.
Love your videos! Could you talk more about Korean skincare, sunscreens, good brands for each concern, ingredients, etc.
Yah! I was thinking about it too!
Have you tried any Korean brand?
@@fahomedchowdhury5738 Like better Korean skincare than any other. Have tried a lot of moisture products from Cerave, La Roche Posay, Eucerin, etc, while using tretinoin due to damaged skin barrier. The only ones that repairs and now are my holy gail’s are Korean: Pyunkang Yul essence toner, Pyunkang Yul Ato cream blue label, Illiyoon Ceramide ato concentrate cream, Cosrx advanced snail 92 and Etude Soon Jung 2x barrier intensive cream.
Hi! Love you Dr. Idriss ❤ How would you rate Biossance’s vitamin C? Where does it fall in your categorization?
Thank you again for this informative topic. I have used most of these products you have discussed and have found a winning combination that works for me! ❤
Please share!!
Incredibly well made video. Subscribing forever. ❤
Loreal revitalift is a drugstore brand, containing the shelf stable Tetradexyl vit c, and I’ve been using it for years. Only 10% which is great for my sensitive skin.
So helpful!! I have sensitive skin and have been using the thd and am so happy with it. I’ve been using the new Vanicream one. Any thoughts on that one?
Such a helpful breakdown!
One serum I love with Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (with 3% Vitamin E and 2% Ferulic Acid) is Peter Thomas Roth’s Potent-C Power Serum. It has a high vitamin C percentage at 20%, but I’ve never found it irritating and I have relatively skin. I think it is because of all the moisturizers. It feels nice on the skin-and it’s not sticky like Skinceuticals. It also comes in a pump. Only downside is that it can separate after you’ve had it a while. Not sure if that means it’s losing potency or not.
Greeting from Thailand! I just recently found your channel and have already been through most of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing so many good things that can truly save our bucks and faces :)
i love the bubble day dream vitamin c and niacinimide serum. it includes vitamin c derivative SAP and niacinimide formulated together. it also contains ceramides and tyrosinase inhibitors. it feel elegant on the skin and comes with a pump :)
I use that one too wish it was more hydrating tho but i still love it and swear by it!
Thank you for this comment! I have oiliness in my t-zone, and prone to getting cystic acne. My skin loves Niacinamide too. Once I read the ingredient list, I swear I’ve never ordered anything so fast lol
I love it too!
This was a fantastic update! I have never been able to use Vitamin C until your Major Fade Moisturizer came along. I use it everyday with zero irritation. Highly recommend!
Do you have a sensitive, acne prone skin?
Thank you Doc for detailed information. You are amazing
Wow thank you so much for these precious infos. You are fantastic 😊
Copper peptides next please. Thank you!
First let me just say thank you for putting out wonderful content that is educational and entertaining!! Just wondering your thoughts on the Beauty Stat Universal C skin refiner. It is a 20% L Ascorbic acid product; i dont consider it a serum rather a lightweighr creme.
I would love to see you do a video on the best ingredients and/or procedures for loss of firmness. As a woman in my early 50's this is my main problem. I have very few fine lines and am generally happy with my skin except for my jowels are beginning to sag. I use retinA, vit c, matrixl 3000, peptides, and all the usual anti-aging stuff. I am considering Ultherapy as i have read good things about its effects on sagging skin. Thanks again for doing us all such a huge service.
i really love the way you describe things in your videos, it's enjoyable and sometimes you make me laugh
Love your enthusiasm
We need to talk about growth factors!!!
Love this!! Can you do another video on your products with facial tools such as near infrared light therapy (Omnilux), neon/argon wand (NuDerma), and NuFace mini!?!? I am just curious! I have been using all three and your products and I’m shocked with how much my skin has looked so healthy! But I know it’s your products that really changed it for the better! 💕🙌🏼
And what do you think of Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C serum?
Yayy thank you Dr.Shereene!!!!!♥️
Dr. Idriss, your products are wonderful! Can't wait to try them. Please, start shipping to Europe asap! 💕
What is your opinion on the Vanicream vitamin C serum?
I love the Geek and Gorgeous C-Glow. It is 15% l-ascorbic acid. I do have to order it and I get two bottles at a time. I follow their directions and keep it in the fridge and decant into a smaller bottle for use. I have never had any go bad doing it this way. I also use the G&G A-Game 10 retinal so I usually have enough in the order for free shipping.
I love it too! Can only use in the summer for some reason less irritation then
Not effective to my own experience. I’m switching to Paula’s choice
Trying it right now and very great so far !
Ships from England, right? Free shipping to US with minimum purchase?
If ordering from the US, it ships from Hungary. Free shipping if order is 60 euros. I use a few of their products so it is easy to get to 60 euros. I order 2-3 C glows at a time and keep it in the fridge.
Wow, this is a VERY informative and educational video. I thought I knew all there is about Vitamin C, but I learned so much from this video. Thank you so much Dr Idris .
I’m excited to try your major fade product. I’m getting another round of the Enlighten peel in a few weeks and I plan on adding your product into my routine for some post peel maintenance.
This has become overwhelming, so many products too much money. I have dry aging skin, I am tired of all the claims but yet to see any difference in my skin. I am going to start returning items that don't do what they claim.
Should done product review so that people don't buy that too
Just try a mild acid like mandelic and a good moisturiser then and your skin will be glowing. What moisturiser do you use? I'm 49 with dry skin. So I like to use thick creams that stay on my skin and not sink in and dissappear with no dryness relief. If I was going to sack off my serums etc. I'd just use my mandelic acid after cleansing with a mild creamy facewash like cerave one for dry skin (non foaming), a thick moisturiser (I use Nivea. Coenzyme q10 night, even in the day...its fragrance fragrance free) and a suncream x
Dry skin use vitamin c in the form of tetrahexyldexcyl ascorbate, and then use an aha like glycolic acid. Don’t use bha, it’s for oily acne prone skin.
Dr Shereene pls do a video on nasolabial fold. As this is due to sagging, volume loss and there’s also line, what treatment(s) can solve these 3 problems? Pls do a deep dive on this 🙏🏻
I love Saturdays because of you
I feel like I became a dermatologist. Very interesting and informative video. Thank you for your help.❤❤❤
