Love listening to Laura because she is so honest about her food challenges. I too have challenges with cheat days. Ive used the quarantine to get my food on track. So hard and finally broke my 6 month stall.

I know it's not a popular belief in the hard core carnivore community, but fasting is THE key for those of us with emotional eating. Especially if you are not a Moderator. Fasting for me is the only thing that helps me lose weight.

Laura mentions in her videos that she does fasting. Usually OMAD and 48 hour once a week

I couldn't agree more. I was carnivore for some time, and I felt great. However, I find I feel even better by fasting, and still eating what I enjoy. Right now, I am doing back to back 72 hours fasts, one nice-sized meal, and then fast again, rinse and repeat. It's not for everyone, but the weight sure does come off.
As 72s get taxing, I will move up to 48s, and then eventually stick with that, or the occasional OMAD. But with these meals, I have never craved a big ass salad as much as I do while fasting. I always add rare cooked salmon (just seared slightly on each side) to my salad, and I even have cashew milk ice cream if I want some dessert.
Again, not for everyone, but I feel just as good, if not actually better doing this. I guess the only argument some would give me is that with carnivore, they are never hungry. My only issue with carnivore is that I have always craved some carbs, even after months of doing carnivore. Just an addiction that is hard for me to overcome. I feel great doing what I'm doing now, and that's all that should matter to anyone. YOU DO YOU!!!!

Bella’s Steak and Butter Gal’s 30-day carnivore challenges focus on fasting and feasting for body recomposition. Is it necessary with her challenges? No, but a lot of why people do her challenges is because they’re interested in the fasting and feasting protocol, as well. I’m in the 30-day challenge now, and everyone is so completely supportive of whatever you decide to do. Plus, Kelly Hogan and Dr. Chaffee are guest speakers this month.

I like Dr. Rob Cywes' comments about snacking being an emotional event, not a nutritional one... and to have a non-caloric "bridge" between meals, like coffee, tea, etc., even with a little milk. Things to replace the desire to eat when not hungry. :)

Thank goodness y'all are finally addressing the fact that you can absolutely overeat on Carnivore and there are many of us who suffered this issue for a long time. The message of "eat when hungry and eat until full" is not exactly prime for a lot of us.

I love your story Laura ! It is inspiring and encouraging. You are so intentional. We have to be! Thank you ladies.
My first three years of ketosis I ate so much cheese. A ton. I was getting puffy and not as lean as I was in the beginning, which effects my energy. I spent 3months mostly carnivore this year without cheese as a reset and elimination experiment. Now I am slowly adding back in a few keto staples with cabbage, iceberg, a bit of peanut butter and I am losing weight again. My short carnivore experience and removing cheese was so valuable as it taught me I do best with a pound of ground beef daily. I wasn’t eating that much meat in the first 3 yrs. Still not having cheese now as I would rather have my one portion of 0% Fage yogurt mixed with my homemade jello. So the only dairy I have is 2 Tbs cream daily for coffees and that greek yogurt. I am 5’5 130lbs 50yrs old. I walk (fasted) 20-25miles/wk, do floor exercises, and a few other strength exercises. I usually fast atleast 18 hours with my cream coffee. I still use liquid stevia and diet coke. I know, its not good. But thats where I am at.
Goal now is to keep getting more muscle but stay under 130. I have other health issues that will worsen if I dont get stronger so that is an effective motivation to keep putting on muscle especially being 50 when it really starts to not stay on as easily.
I cheer everyone on to experiment to see what works for your body to be as healthy, productive as possible, and control cravings. I thank God for bringing me ketosis.
I love hearing what others are doing that is working for them ! So thought I would share.
    Keep improving everyone 💕

      Nutrition with Judy
More rambling from me.... : )
Thanks Judy you are right on your protein amount! It makes a huge difference. If I don’t meet that I’m hungrier before my eating window especially if I am lacking sleep or have a stress I’m trying to overcome.
I surely DID have that sugar demon BEFORE keto. Oh my what a relief to not feel sugar cravings all day now. Since I stay in ketosis it is very manageable now. I have more elimination goals including the amount of stevia I use, diet pop, etc but I would honestly rather keep improving consistency with my eating window, losing fat, and tweaking my protein level. I never thought I would be able to give up cheese and eat a daily pound a beef so I have no doubt my body eventually will give up diet pop as well. I’m also a healed former alcoholic so diet pop is an emotional crutch at times I think. I think as my body heals (2 health issues right now) it will just keep getting more efficient with less. More muscle helps both my issues (disc herniation & leg venous insufficiency - both improving with daily PT)
I had 5 pieces of bacon yesterday (not enough protein or sleep the day before) and I gained 2 lbs of inflammation. I like bacon - it fills me up but it makes me puffy and not as mentally sharp for whatever reason. Plus it’s expensive in my budget! So it’s being phased out but it helped me for a time.
Thank you for teaching us so much. You are a blessing. 🙏🏼A healer sent from our Creator. 💕

Thank you for your story ForgiveAndLove, I can definitely relate, I am 48, 5ft 4, 155, doing the amount of exercise you do. My goal is to get down in the 130. Changed in up here in July to OMAD, seems to be kick starting the weight loss again, i also do the full fat greek yogurt mix it with nut butter. Lately been hungry for cottage cheese, may have to get some the next time I go to the store. Keep up the good work, gaining muscle is a good thing and hope yours grow. I hope to get a dexascan at the end of the year to see where everything is.

Thank you for such a great interview. I can so relate to Laura. I still struggle with stress eating. I don't eat junk food, but I'm eating when I'm not hungry. I've been keto/carnivore for almost 3 years, lost over 100 pounds, but gained in March and April. Started doing alternate day fasting but having trouble sticking to it. Maybe OMAD would be a better fit right now. It is so helpful to hear others discuss how they are dealing with the same situation. Thanks again!

For me, 2 or 3 coffees with full fat cream gets me through to 18 to 20 hours of fasting. It is just harder at times because my partner wants to eat more often and he craves carbs. I cant tolerate alcohol anymore ... Not even a glass of wine anymore. I cant handle cheat days. I love to bake ... So ... It is very hard for me at times. I dont need to eat it but I cant "poison" others so it is a strugle to find a replacement for that pasion. Play it safe 💫

Just starting my journey at the same weight Laura started with. Thank you for posting and sharing this journey and giving people all of these wonderful details. I’m definitely under-eating at my 2nd week of carnivore. I still have questions like how do I know if I’m not getting enough fat or I’m low on electrolytes? How many electrolyte drinks should I have per week if I’m not working out (sweating) and when I am working out?

I was so full I could even drink water, let alone a solid snack. If I didnt eat it during my OMAD then I wont eat.

Leaky gut, sibo and brain fog have gone. Overall infection is not fully cured yet . I'm on the healing progress. Now I can eat egg, chicken, pork and anything I think. Anyway I eat just beef. @@NutritionwithJudy I've seen where people have lost eating 4,000 calories of fatty meat per day. Perhaps it is just listening to the body and seeing what it needs. If they feel hungry then eat and if not then don't. Perhaps some bodies just need more.
