  • In case you missed it, @lauraespath and I did a Carnivore Q&A on November 22, 2020. I got very real and honest about some of the carnivores (and guidance) in the community.
I hope that what you glean from this Q&A is that you HAVE to find what works best for you and if anyone says they KNOW the answer or secret to it, then I'd question it.
Trust your body and look to refine your healing by your symptoms and the biofeedback your body provides you. That is the best way to know if the way you are eating is working for you, or if you need start refining or finding more root cause issues for healing.
In this Live we talk about:
    Salt
    Gut Health
    Fasting
Should you eat 2 pounds of meat (and other carnivore mantras)
    Fat/Protein macros/calories
    Supplements

I am one of those migraine people! Things like bread and coffee deplete me so bad. And i am so sensitive to any salt depletion. Had a sever ed and removed salt completely because i didnt want any extra water weight (very sickly skinny for years). I would “randomly” feel better every time I ate fast food, specifically fries. So painfully obvious. Glad to know im not crazy and medical was wrong in wanting to prescribe me beta blockers without any question.

I’m not an expert on salt but I’m pretty Sure Sodium and chloride can be found in animal products without salting anything. And I’m sure those ratios are nicely designed. Animals, at least land mammals don’t really eat salt unless they happen to get it by catching some fish maybe.

I cannot eat a lot of meat , because I’m insulin resistant and my blood sugar goes up high! I’m currently taking the yogi carnivore advice and going with more fat. Bought some beef fat today at my meat market. Hopefully it works. I’ still have about 10lbs to lose and have yet to reverse the diabetes.🥺 oh I’m 67 yrs old. Lost 35 lbs this year.

@@NutritionwithJudy I’d love to hear your recommendation. , it been very discouraging to say the least. I never thought it would take so long, but my body’s has been un heathy many years. I also follow a fasting routine, which does bring the number down but not permanently.

Yes, I’m like Laura, I can sit & eat all day. I only had 1 meal today but I was hungry from running around all day & nursing my baby (I usually eat 2-3 meals a day), I came home & ate a ribeye over 1 pound, then knew I was still hungry & if I didn’t make some more food then I would want sweets so, I made another pound of ground beef with mushrooms, 2 eggs, & cream cheese, & ate that too. Finally full lol, but it was so good!

My female patients cannot even lift their legs off the table... A tsp of salt then whoop up they go... We are electrical beings ... we need electro lytes... Redmond salt is always first step for everything patients come in with.

I love your channel, but I do think that there is a very big difference between the bleached industrial salt found in commercial table salt and processed foods and natural salts such as himalayan,Redmonds and good grey sea salts.I think they are different beasts, like comparing fresh berries to jam/ jello.Ive got multiple Healthcare induced permanant harms and have been in heart failure multiple times but commercial lab salt puts me in real danger where natural salts absolutely do not.

I'm trying carnivorish, but am too bloated and can't go to the bathroom. I use ground meat cuz I can't chew well. I'm miserable and try different things, but don't want to just guess . And things I've tried that hasn't worked in the past I don't want to buy and try again. Not the best with supplements. I don't respond to well. I listen but still having trouble.

It is ludicrous to tell someone not to eat salt. For millions of years animals have travelled long distances just to get at salt. Carnivores drink the salty blood of their kills. In hot weather you will die if you are salt depleted and suddenly drink too much fresh water. It can dilute your blood of salt and other minerals too quickly. I too get major headaches without enough salt. I would never just take someone's word for anything, that includes doctors too.

  • @hisairness28

Totally disagree about salt, I'm carnivore, sweat heaps from 1 hr of daily cardio, feel do much better on zero salt. When I add salt I drink way to much, I.lose sleep getting up to go to toilet and to drink water

I have no gallbladder and been constipated whole life. Started keto two years ago started taking HCl and digestive enzymes a year ago. Has helped bloating, Had lower lumbar spinal fusion when I was a child which I’ve read can damage the nerve signals to the brain for the peristalsis in digestive system. Any suggestions? I don’t eat sugar, dairy, gluten, or drink alcohol.

You mentioned low stomach acid, i am having huge issues with that and it just seems to be getting worse. Been ketovore/carnivore for almost 6 months and i end up vomiting at night even if i haven't eaten since morning. I've stopped drinking anything an hour or 2 before and after my meal and only eating once a day, idk what to do.

As you age (and for other reasons) your body produces less and less HCI (i.e. stomach acid). I good inexpensive supplement is Pure Betaine HCI Pepsin. I take one capsule on my last large meal of the day, which for me is noon in that I do time restricted eating between 6AM and noon. This meal is typical a heavy (e.g., 16 oz of meat) and the supplement seems to greatly aid in digestion. The supplement was recommended by my Functional MD.

One thing about carnivore influencers is that they always have to present their selves shirtless or in a bikini. Why, lol 😆

I've noticed this too. Where is the modesty? We know you're healthy and fit, you don't have to be a model about it. To me it's a turnoff.

Hi Judy! I just started the Carnivore diet about a week ago and felt burning all over my body throughout the night. I was wondering if that is fat burning or something else?

    • @Rose-op3oq
      @Rose-op3oq 3 роки тому

@@NutritionwithJudy Thank you so much Judy!!! I know for sure it’s not a rash. I literally felt a burning sensation throughout my body. I’m also thinking this might have something to do with electrolytes? I really don’t know ? I generously salted all my food and had some bone broth but maybe something is still missing or maybe it’s just transitioning from 50 grams of carbs to basically almost no carbs at all.
