    Great video! I just bought the PR 4000 and the uprights are about 1 inch narrower at the bottom than the top. Does the rear back stabilizer help “square” up the rack?

    • @twistedbarbell3950
      @twistedbarbell3950  11 місяців тому

      I assume you mean closer to each other than at the top? Yeah, the RBS will help with that. You can also measure and square it up on your own. Loosen the bolts a bit and just tap with a rubber mallet until the top and bottom are equidistant. You can also use a magnetic level to ensure everything is straight.

    Great video. I'm hoping to buy the 4000 with an ares when my basement is finished, hopefully end of this year. Your videos have helped me..
    I'd personally like a video of the multi grip pull up bar. There are no videos on UA-cam on that pull-up bar. I'd like to see it up close, is there knurling? What made you choose that over the other bar (I suspect height clearance) but etc..

      Thanks MrPanthers! If my videos have helped you, please consider using my affiliate code in the description when you do purchase. I'll consider a video on the MGPU bar, but there isn't really much to say and it is rather uncommon, I suspect. Nonetheless, it does NOT have knurling, to answer your question. I initially ordered the other non globe MGPU bar, but my ceiling heigh wasn't enough to accommodate it, so I had to exchange it for this one.

    Did you get the 30" rack and do the plates on the pegs get in the way when working inside rack, rack pulls , benching etc?
    About the rogue leverage arms I don't want them anymore. I don't need that. However still thinking about selling my prx wall rack, my valor lat pull down machine my rogue strips with dip and landmine attachments and pegs and also my rogue pull up bar. If I get the rep 4000 or 5000 rack I can have everything I mentioned avobe in one place.

      Hey Marco - yes, I have the 30” cross members on 80” uprights. I have a newer more thorough review titled PR-4000 one year later that shows some changes I made from this first video and why. Some of the weight horns did get in the way, but you can locate them in places that don’t interfere. Yes, I don’t see why you can’t have all that on one rack and I basically do.

    So the PR 5000 is the same as PR 5000v2. I built my rack at rep fitness its a pr5000. Iam a little confused I chose the 80" rack and 30" if I buy lat pull down attachment and stabilizer I won't need to bolt it down correct?? Will the rogue leverage arms work on this rack?
    OK this is my dilemma.🙄
    I currwntly have this set up PRX wall rack and separate valor lat pull down machine, separate rogue pull up bar, separate rogue band station with matador dip attachment and landmine (this is what I currently have right now) and many of other things.. I want the rogue arms so for that I will have to get another rack I think so I been looking at the one mentioned avobe..now if I get the pr5000 with lat pull down, rogue leverage arms, dip, land mind and pull up bar attachments I can sell all my other stuff and this way I will have everything consolidated in one rack..don't know if I will like everything cramped up in one place though🤔🤔. Or maybe just replace prx wall rack with rogue wall rack and keep everything else in separate stations like I have it now??🤔🤔

    • @twistedbarbell3950
      @twistedbarbell3950  2 роки тому

      You shouldn’t need to bolt that combo down, as the weight and additional contact points should keep it anchored in place pretty solidly. As for the Rogue arms, they are likely to be a little to big for the Rep uprights which are slightly narrower that an exact 3x3. Perhaps swapping the PRX wall rack for Rogue’s would be a better option if the 50 Cal arms are something you really want to use. Good luck!

    Love your setup and color-scheme, I might steal it! I had a couple questions on the lat pulldown. What is the measurement from floor to the very top of any piece? My ceilings are very low and it will be a close call, from rep's website it seems like it should be 83", but I'm skeptical. Second question, you and I are the same height, but not sure on reach. I'm wondering if you feel like you get a good full range of motion on the pull down. I've seen some pics where the pulldown bars hang in a starting position pretty low and it seems like I wouldn't get a great range of motion with full load on the bar...any chance you can get me a measurement of floor to bottom of the carabiner when it first begins full tension. Thank you!

    • @twistedbarbell3950
      @twistedbarbell3950  3 роки тому

      Thanks man. I’ll take a measurement and get back to you. The one bit of info that is not provided by Rep is the extra height of one of the pulley wheels in the top bar. It sticks out above that top bar about half an inch, making it an even closer call. As for the reach, it may have more to do with ensuring a tight (pulley cables) fit to eliminate slack, thereby giving it tension from the top of the range of motion. I definitely get a good range of motion and you could always adjust with your seating position. I’m not sure I could get a measurement with tension with only two hands, but I’ll see what the measurement from the bottom of carabiner.

I could do some of the higher location (for the ISO arms) exercises seated on a bench, but I still think they will be a nice addition. You can be sure I’ll do a review on them and a REP bench once stock allows me to purchase them.

    Thanks for doing the video. I have watched it several times and I am a sub to your channel. Question: I am 6’3” tall and considering the 80” Tall rack because the 93” is out of stock in the color that I want but the color I want is available in 80”, So my concern/question is would I have issues when I use the Lat Low Row attachment while I do Lat Pulldowns while I sit on a bench? Would I be able to get a decent stretch while performing the Lat Pulldowns on the 80” rack ? What do you think.
    Thanks

    • @twistedbarbell3950
      @twistedbarbell3950  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the Sun Lenny. There is no difference with the Lat Low Row between the two size racks. The cables are appropriate for each and the stretch/movement ranges are the same, so it won’t be an issue. If you check my IG account (twisted_barbell_gym), you’ll see several examples of me using mine for the same movement and it’s never an issue. Btw, I am 6’2” myself. On another note, you do realize that the 80” rack will limit movements like pull ups and overhead presses, right? It’s doable, but there will be some necessary adaptations of course. Not that you need to OHP inside the rack.
      Also, I have a newer video on the rack titled 1 year later that is more thorough and explains a lot of details of my experience

    • @rambojohn7118
      @rambojohn7118 2 роки тому

      I have another concern , I’d like your input. Would Squats be doable in a 24” depth pr4000? I am in an apartment so the less space I use the better. I think with a 30” setup with the lat low row that I would need 10 more inches total ? I’m not sure on that

    • @twistedbarbell3950
      @twistedbarbell3950  2 роки тому

      @@rambojohn7118 you could do squats in a rack with 24” depth, easy. If space is a concern, the LLR might be too much for your rack. When you consider how much additional space it takes, you’ll need 3 feet beyond the rear post for the lat pull down. Please watch my 2nd video on the rack (August of last year, I believe). In it, I go over all the details of the space requirements and explain why you need to think about all measurements. I think you’ll find it very helpful.

      @twistedbarbell3950  3 роки тому +2

      @@erikhufnagel8263 yes, if you set them too high, it could be and that’s why I typically use the flat for benching. The rounds I use for squatting, but I have used them for benching originally and haven’t personally had that issue. If you have the PR4000 with WS hole spacing, you should be able to lower them a notch so that the extra height at the front isn’t an issue. The backside is quite tall so even if you have to slam a heavy bar into the back wall, it’s protected by thick UHMW and can take that abuse without issue.

      Thank you! My favorite J cups are the round hooks, but the flat sand which J cups are a very close second. They happen to have a slightly different protective plastic than the typical UHMW and are a bit more flexible. Thanks Mike. If you’re close to the limits of space at 93” and you’re looking to add the Lat/low row attachment, you may want to stick with the 80” height. The reason being is that the Lat/low row adds an extra 4” to the rack height for a total of 97”. If you’re thinking of placing your rack on a platform or even horse stall mats, that takes away usable height, as well. I haven’t had any limitations other than needing to bend my legs when doing pull-ups/dips, obviously. I do not yet have the ISO arms so I can’t speak to limits of movement with them, but I imagine you couldn’t do overhead movements with a low ceiling like I have.

    Hi. I have a couple questions about the total dimensions of your layout. After installing 3/4” stall mats I have 99” left from floor to ceiling. Do you think the 93” uprights with the additional height added with the cable attachment will be ok? And the other question is what is the full depth of your rack including the cable station added and the extended bars in front of your rack

    • @twistedbarbell3950

      Yes, the lat/low row will still fit in the height of your space. Look through my other videos for the lat/low review and in it you’ll find detailed info showing measurements with the tape measure so you can feel confident in this information. As for the depth, I’ll have to get back to you on that later.

    Hi, great video. I read the your answers to the question about whether the rear stabilizer gets in the way of the bench for incline. One answer seem to say it’s a problem and the other says it’s not a problem. I am a little confused- others have also said it’s a problem. Could it be solved with a different bench type? Incline is a must do for me. Thanks

    • @twistedbarbell3950
      @twistedbarbell3950  3 роки тому +1

      So the rear stabilizer bar does stop the bench from going back fully and if you want to incline bench, you’ll need to use the front posts for the J-cups, so not really an issue. If you try to use the rear posts with the AB-5xxx series benches, you’ll end up having to over reach to lift the bar out of the j-cups. Another type bench might work, but I wouldn’t know for sure. It would have to be about 6-12” shorter in length to avoid the over reach. Hope that answers your question.

    Hey, I have a question, does the rear stabilizer or the lat pull down attachment get in the way of incline bench? I am wondering this because ideally I would want to incline inside the cage as to use the safety straps but not sure if there is enough room to place bench far enough back.

    • @twistedbarbell3950

      Hey Alberto, the bar does not get in the way of the bench in any position. If you look through my videos, there is footage of me using my bench on an incline without issue. My new bench goes right up to the foot platform of the Lat/Low pull down and still works with room to spare. The Rep 5XXX series benches are longer though and do impede the ability to do incline work inside of the rack without having to over reach behind you and possibly causing a shoulder injury.

However, as you can see from my setup, it’s not really necessary, as you can place weight horns in other locations without interfering with movements. It’s just a matter of preference and the only reason I consider it is to have a neat row of weight plates for all 750 lbs. is it necessary? Not at all. The one negative I fear is how that extra post will make loading larger plates onto the lat/low weight horns a little more of a focused affair to navigate past that post.

    This is the exact same rack I’m waiting to purchase. So had a question about the lat/low attachment. I’m adding a weight storage but not the traditional 16 inch that comes from the website. I’m adding the 24 inch crossmembers and the uprights come side to side with the weight horns from the lat/low attachment. I have contacted rep but they couldn’t send me an accurate measurement of the clearance I would have with the weight horns and uprights. Would you be able to possibly measure what the clearance would be if an upright was next to the weight horns? I’m not really liking the 16 inch weight storage and enjoy the 24 inch and this is the only thing that’s holding me back from pressing the checkout button on the website.

      So, the horns fall right in line with that 25" mark where the center of the upright will land. Unfortunately, this leaves only about 3 inches from the end of the weight horn and that is the thickness of some weight plates (i.e. 45-55lbs.), so that would be a pretty tight squeeze to get plates on and even a bit inconvenient to get smaller plates on. I am still considering the additional uprights for plate storage, but If it were me, I'd go with the 16" cross members to avoid this scenario. Hope that helps.

Larger plates could still make contact with it, so you’d have to maneuver with care, especially if bare iron plates.
