I never realised how realistic the grand turismo 4 tracks were until I saw the tracks for real both on youtube and on tv. For all those who've played the game, watching this vid feels like driving the car in the game! Amazing stuff!
Respect to Chris for OWNING the cars that he likes. Most motor journalists have an old project car in the garage and just drive press cars, never going through the ownership experience.
Mejevoli I realize I'm several years late but my '06 E92 did the same thing when I decided to top it out. All the electronic parts of the dash and the infotainment system locked up and the analog tach just kept going to 169. Then I slowed down and all the electronics rebooted as if I had just started the car.
This guy is having so much fun...I can't wait to get my 2009 or 2010 M3......But I would only do one lap on this course with this car.....I would have to take a Honda S2000 to the curves....Another fun sporty car to race around in!!!!
Love this show, just started watching it now and its great and these 2 guys are great presentors and drivers. A bit like Top Gear but withought Jezzas critizism towards everything haha
i feel his pain on the first day of buying his new m3.i think i am lucky to say i had the same pain of getting a brand new nissan 370z.and keep it under 5000rpm.frustrating stuff.would love to drive around a challenging track like the ring.brilliant review.
I WILL got to Germany and drive on this course one day.....Iwould love to build a MK-2 Golf or Jetta, N/A pwer to about 220HP and drive hard. Or take a Honda S2000, build it up and hit the curves... this looks like great fun!!!!
i dont blame you for being worryed i wouldnt even drive my m3 round a track in wet weather thats if i had an m3 lol maybe one day. Another think whats with part1 not being able to take it to 8000rev is that an engine saftey thing like for 1000miles wearing your new engine in so you dont mess it up hammering it?.
I thought that too at first. But he cut out the bit between "Adenauer Forst" and "Karussel" which takes about 2 minutes time. But under 10 minutes in the rain with your own new car is still pretty damn fast. And he didn't take the long straight full throttle (at the beginning) which makes this effectively a sub 9:00 min lap. Not bad at all!
It's kind of impossible not to like Chris Harris. I wish they'd put him on Top Gear and get rid of Richard Hammond. Re: the 'Ring in the wet - it's effing lethal overall and in a few places is beyond even that when there has been rain. I've been in a passenger in a car there that careened off the barriers after the tiniest mistake on a greasy patch of cold, damp tarmac. Frankly, in Chris's shoes in a new M3, I'd have left the traction control on for my first laps.
GTR evo is in no way a simulation. Only good thing about it is the miscelaneous simulation (such as brake and tyre temperature). The driving physics are simply so-so. Try Live For Speed. :)
this guy is great!! he comments are good and he talks about the truth. iam very very very luck to own a 335i but the m3 is just great i took one for a test drive at my dealer and there is a big difference the m3 is great for drifting my 335 cuts up some times and thats because 335s dont come with a e-diff like the m3 any way great car!
i KNEW it was an '86 !! Just too bad that we don't normally see BunTA [or even Keiichi ??..(^_^).] revving those coRollas round the ring in spectacular fashion LoLLoL!!
I don't get it (Car & Driver Magazine) says that the Mustang is better than the M3 and the CTS-V is better than the M5 hummm. BMW must be lowering their standards!!
Chris yes its not that quick ,its a road car with people in the back seat but phuck its quick and your crazy you like the edge I would never go fast in the wet I hate it good driving mate
@b3nd3rpep He's much too polished for TopGear. Those guys are just a bunch of clowns. Very amusing clowns, for sure, but Chris is the upper echelon. He's just the best.
You must mean it takes you 5 min and 2 sec to crash because that's the only way you'll be able to end a lap on the Nurburgring in that time. The Veyron isn't even capable of running sub 7 min, let alone your BS 5 min. autoblog.com/2012/06/14/bugatti-veyron-super-sport-on-ring-for-record-attempt/
Gotta love Chris, he is honest, down-to-earth and straightforward. Thanks for that review again as said by others!

Chris Harris and Tiff nedell are the best reviewers if you ask me.
Respect to Chris for OWNING the cars that he likes. Most motor journalists have an old project car in the garage and just drive press cars, never going through the ownership experience.
what a top bloke you are Chris, Great guy
Funny how Chris mentions the 599 in this video, a car he ends up buying!
I dont normally watch reviews this long but man this guy is good...
“It’s got so much power”. He didn’t know what was coming in the next 15 years. 400 hp has become nothing.
Well done! Great driving & commentary to go with it!
That bloke in the Jaguar is my hero.
mayb the most fun lap of the ring i've seen.
chris youre a legend , really enjoyed watching this !!!
Wow, I love this car. If I could only have one car for the rest of my life, it would be this one. This, or an E46 CSL with a six speed manual.
What a fantastic video Chris. Awesome 👍
on a cold wet November day with street tyres and standard brakes.....well done!!
Having driven an alfa 75 in the heavy wet on the ring, I can confirm it is f'ing scary, tons of fun, and everywhere you look is crashed cars
"155 indicated.. Well my limiter doesn't work then.. 162"

andyt21884 yeah E92 M3 from 2006...right...
David Mitchell sorry I misspoke (mistyped?) ‘06 was my previous car. My BMW is a ‘10.
This guy is having so much fun...I can't wait to get my 2009 or 2010 M3......But I would only do one lap on this course with this car.....I would have to take a Honda S2000 to the curves....Another fun sporty car to race around in!!!!

such a smooth driver
Yes he is. I was surprised.
'Oh the limiter doesn't work then' - legend
LOL! When he twitched on the exit of that last turn i shat my pants... Im going to clean them now.
Great drive for the wet... and I love the commentary aswell.
Chris is a ledgend, BUT OMG at the c-type owner.... has giant giant balls, Fair play sir! If i had a hat on i'd take it off for you!
Proper car and driver. :D
chris harris is such a good reviewer
nice drift @ 04:25. this ride is a beast
Great vid if you wanna learn the track!
Well done Chris, nice video!
Great review..Chris Harris is a fantastic reviewer!
@Gurksallad10 I don't blame him either-New car, infamous for sudden oversteer, and the track being very wet...
He's a proper chap!
this is posibly the best handling car in the world
Love M3's
I WILL got to Germany and drive on this course one day.....Iwould love to build a MK-2 Golf or Jetta, N/A pwer to about 220HP and drive hard. Or take a Honda S2000, build it up and hit the curves... this looks like great fun!!!!
aint there a vid like this with a better car!
great driver!

Get this guy on TV to do a proper old school cary car show!
but still, there is a film of water covering the track, thus vastly reducing the friction between the tire and the track.
great vid, funny guy, but half the track was cut out!
he's a good driver
Impressive
8:46 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno =)
This is a cool review, none of the super hero stuff
can he test all the cars in this track? It would be the best car reviewing. ( my opinion )
the track looks exactly how its represented in games like pgr forza ect
I Love my M!
nice vid!
Where do I get it?
cool thanks
lmao who else noticed the baby seat behind him?....thats a lucky kid!
really? how does it do that?
Did Chris just do a 7:35 in an M3, in the rain, hardly trying, with stability control on?
I thought that too at first. But he cut out the bit between "Adenauer Forst" and "Karussel" which takes about 2 minutes time.
But under 10 minutes in the rain with your own new car is still pretty damn fast. And he didn't take the long straight full throttle (at the beginning) which makes this effectively a sub 9:00 min lap.

Ah the dancing yellow light was the Traction Control
Enjoy your day my Friends. If you have an ///M car, drive it today.
Let everyone see what a great car looks like.
9:30 A 968 in the wall?! Is it the yellow CS? Holy crap! :'(
i love the m3 but its chassie can handle alot more torque and power
is that a baby seat in the back seat?

Your wish came true
" bloody hell this thing's fast " hahaha
8:46 AE86??

that's awesome!
Wonder why most of these auto commentators are English? Jessey. nah he earned a ballzy review in an amazing car @ 160 mph on wet roads.
how does he not hydroplane at 155?
If you want to drive an M3 but don't have the money, you can go to BMW's website and download the M3 Challenge game. It's great fun.
this guy is great!! he comments are good and he talks about the truth. iam very very very luck to own a 335i but the m3 is just great i took one for a test drive at my dealer and there is a big difference the m3 is great for drifting my 335 cuts up some times and thats because 335s dont come with a e-diff like the m3 any way great car!
Some say 155 in 4th the limiter doesn't work then lol Great driving Stig oops I mean Chris
The limiter only works in 6th.
This guy know's the nurburgring well.
I admit this guy isn't my favorite commentator/ reviewer but the guy can really drive
there's a good driver
i KNEW it was an '86 !!
Just too bad that we don't normally see BunTA [or even Keiichi ??..(^_^).] revving those coRollas round the ring in spectacular fashion LoLLoL!!
I wish I could afford one myself.
"The diesel tree" lol
I don't get it (Car & Driver Magazine) says that the Mustang is better than the M3 and the CTS-V is better than the M5 hummm. BMW must be lowering their standards!!
about 20 quid or 26 euros
The sound of that V8 engine.... sex for the ears
Someones had a woopsie here lol

Chris yes its not that quick ,its a road car with people in the back seat but phuck its quick and your crazy you like the edge I would never go fast in the wet I hate it good driving mate
Is that a baby seat in the back Gotta show my wife this video prove my point about a big enough backseat
@b3nd3rpep He's much too polished for TopGear. Those guys are just a bunch of clowns. Very amusing clowns, for sure, but Chris is the upper echelon. He's just the best.
Too rough to drive every day for the rest of my life. But if it could be my second car....
Wow, Autocar must be treating their employees very good... This guy has a 911 and an M3?
haha the limiter dident even work!
Krikee!
I would really like to see your 1.2 million Bugatti Veyron
wow he is really scared.. And I dont blame him!
Then why is the tail of my M90 always hanging out? :)
This isn't Gran Turismo,
162 mph on wet nurburgring, is it worth it? lol ...hell YA!
