@@iiredeye No generally, it is just one of my favorite cars and I scrolled down the comments, and I saw yours, it is a surprise that you still respond after 12 years haha.
@@stephandejager7974, I'm commenting a further two years later to point out that when Chris is calling out the speed that the car is doing, each increment matches up with wnat we see on the speedo onscreen, proving that the video is not sped up. So there.
yea, when you put in that second key, it makes the car more aerodynamic overall (lowers it, retracts the wing,...) to make it possible to reach the top speed.
The highest officially recorded top speed for a F1 car was 249mph on July 21st, 2006 at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Vehicle was aerodynamically modified thus moving it out of formal FIA Formula One regulations, but an official speed was still set . Veyron has been recorded at 253mph, stock. Stock to (nearly) stock, the Veyron edges out ahead on top speed.
@wivese86: Absolutely not! The warrantee is still OK but in order to reach the top speed, you need to increase aero (which is what you do by putting the 2nd key: it lows down the car, avoid the spoiler to come up, close a few air intakes.....Stuff like these) , that's all!
the 2nd key is put into the keyhole by the door. it makes the car lower and also lowers the wing a bit making the car more aerodynamic therefore allowing the actual top speed of the bugatti
years later we have the keonigsegg one:1, hennessey venom gt and of course the super sport. 10 years from now what monsters are lurking? are we gonna hit 300mph?
@Janusha I agree 100%. Anyone can put massive power in a car - but not many can make it as usable and luxurious as the Bugatti. In my opinion, the Veyron is the greatest piece of automotive engineering of all time and I doubt is ever going to be topped.
This is true. One of the radiators is to cool the differential, not bad for 2005 considering that Nissan are only now going to fit one on the 2013 GT-R. (pity they did not follow the Veyron earlier instead of voiding peoples warranty when the fluid overheats or transmission fails).
yea ur right. it has two keys. the first key turns on half the engine and gives u 500hp. the second key turns on the other half of the engine giving you an extra 501 hp to play with and it also lowers the car from 4" off the ground to 3" off the ground
Alot of people seem to fail to Understand one thing regarding this car, Its not the horse power that makes it special, Its not the fact that the care can stand long time and survive regular hard driving Conditions. As Stated any other car with heavy Mods can do that, It the fact of the Acceleration and Speed it can Achieve. NO other car can do all 3 things this car does at the same time. Speed, Acceleration, Drive in Harsh Driving Conditions.
i know that, because after the engine has been sincronized, comes the drivetrain wich will make u get to higher top speeds or getting to that top speed faster! if the RMP in a car is higher it has more impulse witch means more aceleration.(it means it will go faster to its top speed)
You're thinking of the base Aero....although they stopped production on that from what I've read. Those are all options you have to pay extra for on the ultimate TT.
the only thing that limits the f1 from not passing the veyron is the transmission, even tho is a racing transmission, but the gear lengths are extremely short thats why it has 7 gears and they accelerate hella fast plus the engine accelerates really fast...
I'll agree with you there, although not with nearly as much composure, or sitting in comfort, it's almost just like cruising at that speed.Although since it's marketed as a performance car not a luxury cruiser it doesn't justify the price.
the second key is to unlock the speed limiter and push top speed from 223 to 260. I believe once you unlock the speed limiter the warranty is void or the car is uninsurable or something like that.
Initially Bugatti was founded in Germany back in 1904 or 1908, but the Alsace was under French rule again from 1919 onwards. So, basically, Bugatti's nationality is hard to tell, even though its founder Ettore was from Milan in the Italian Lombardy. Plus you have to note Bugatti is mainly put together from German parts by Volkswagen, which owns Bugatti and will soon be bought up by Porsche. So for me, Bugatti is a German car.
It's a French car with two side-by-side V8 ( W16 ), 4 turbochargers and 10 cooling radiators german powered engines from Audi financed by Volkswagen. Awesome other-worldly sound!
Aerodynamic is not the issue; Bugatti could easily program function to further lower Veyron while doing 234 mph (375 kph) without the need of second key. The latter was intentionally made for security purpose given the fact, tires will not last above 250 mph. It is clear the goal is to go faster in safely manner which are missed pointed for other cars with higher top speed.
Nope, it does have 1001 HP, some people wanted to see if the makers of bugatti veyron are capable of making a car with over 1000 HP, so they made it 1001 HP to add a sense of humor in it.
People here are right, It allows the car to it's top speed. The second key is there so that you don't accidentally break the sound barrier. Also, the second key needs to be activated while the car is at standstill as it goes in a slot at the bottom of the driver's door. is there anybody here who wouldnt like a go in this thing? i dnt think thers any1 in th world who wouldnt
it's easy to do 200 in america. go to kansas or nevada or wyoming, where the roads are arrow-straight and there are no people around for miles. i live in new jersey, however, and there aren't many straight roads to do it on.
The engine was not the most difficult thing to build, it has been proved it can develop 3000hp, but in a daily use at low speed, you need to cool the engine, and with the pumps and radiators, it eats a lot of HP.By the way, the most difficult thing to build were the gearbox, clutch, tyres and brakes...
Cause it is not a race car...but Bugatti won so many races in the past...and it's price isn't just about horsepower, it is absolute luxury and very easy to use, even on wet roads
Bugatti Veyron is built for quality, performance and reliability unlike aftermarket and tuned cars while being be easy to drive. The reason why cost so much is because all parts are specifically made for Veyron with high quality and expensive materials. For example, the gearbox alone is worth than Ferrari F430 scuderia being made to sustain 1000 bhp for ten-twenty years. No heavily tuned car will be able to achieve that.
GOT DAMN!!!!! YOU SEE HOW FAST THAT ROAD IS COMING TO HIM, IT'S LIKE A JET TAKING OFF. Keep in mind this marvel of a car has a high end sound system, AC, plush interior and engineered to be driven everday like your dads trusty Buick. Now who else makes a car like this...........( crickets )
@TheOfficialKC if you look at the pictures, the engine compartment looks completly redone. it sees to be more aerodynamic. the air intakes aren't as big and they covered up the engine leaving a unifor surface. the redid the whole suspension, putting in a very prformant race suspension and the body is all carbon fibre. p.s. i think you mean hundreds of milions:)
Actually weight wont stop it from going fast. It could weigh half its current weight and the top speed would be the same. At those speeds its all about brute force and aerodynamics. Weight, or lack thereof will only really affect acceleration.
theyre both production cars with a high top speed, they can be compared and compared to the highest extent. koeniggsegg is a tiny company but judging from the latest cars they realesed, the ccx, ccxr, they can produce a bugatti basher if top speed was the objective
its not a normal automatic gearbox its a dsg (direktschaltgetriebe / directshiftgearbox) ,simply "wiki" it, with shifttimes of under 20 milliseconds (f1 car: 5 ms, f430 scuderia: 60ms )
I think it's fucking insane driving that fast on a view as far as the headlights.. :D The way it takes speed from 120 to 270 is just insane. I would still reather have tweaked R32 GT-R Skyline.
they don't need to do that just de-limit the Veyron, it's common knowledge it's electronically limited to 253mph because that's what the tyres can take safely, above that there's a risk they may shred also Bugatti engineers saw 1300hp on the dyno in development but the transmission won't take that power not to mention, which do you think is more stable and therefore more safe doing 250mph? the SSC or the Veyon? I'd say the Veyron and so does all the testers
newsflash, weight doesn't matter when it comes to top speed, only acceleration that's simple physics at 250mph the by far most great force to overcome is winddrag
yeah this car is pretty amazing, but im not really sure what price it is i heard someone bought one in canada somewhere but i dont really know alot, how was it?
