Perhaps Alpha Primus isn't made wrong but instead its soul is poorly attached so that when the time comes it's easier for another soul, one that's been without a body for about 10,000 years, to inhabit its body.
I think the part of the emperor that was in the warp attached itself to the being know as Mephiston. He might have the most gifts overall but he can't match the psychic potential of Mephiston, not even Magnus can who is bound to the literal god of sorcery. This was the part of the emperor that was cast off to fight Horus. He literally died to get this power and this entity does not know what it is. This is just a shard of the emperor mind you, it might not even be the full sum of the emperor's power in the warp. Not saying that a larger fragment doesn't still exist that either one can become possessed by. This idea makes the most sense to me. As far as being created to be a powerful space marine I suppose he is the best in that regards, but Mephiston kinda proves that this potential exists within more space Marines than one might think. Let's face it once you're a top tier psycher, every other power becomes kinda meaningless since a psycher of that might can mimic any power.

The emperor contacts primus in a vision in the bile/ cawl book and he’s grossed out by primus. He’s not a primarch. Just a super space marine with a lot of Magnus in him and some other primarchs. Halfway between. I means it’s stated in the book. A lot of speculation in the comments because they haven’t read it

Gman:"Nah I'm good, as a matter of fact, I pity the poor bastard who's gonna have to carry you, you are the emperor but you're also a shitty father you know?" Emperor:"On second thought, maybe I'll stay here a little bit longer" Gman:"Fuck you!"
Imagine how disappointing it would be if Primus is only exactly what he say he's, despite bile and Cawl talking that he doesnt know for sure. Afterall hes a multiple milennia being with incredible power. In the end it appeals as a Frankenstein monster to me.
I believe Alpha Primus to be more than a custodian. Edit: also I don't think Bile would be so amazed if it was just a space marine of all gene seeds. He has to be something much more. Most likely similar to a primarch.
I have a feeling that he had 11 brothers who were cut up by the old man in the same way and finally patched together with him. Maybe a steep idea, but I find it interesting.
"Gods do not suffer." Tell that to Prometheus. There was also this one pretty well documented event at Golgotha about 2000 years ago. You may have heard of it.
Not well documented at all. Can't even find record of a Jesus born in birth records from the time period. The Roman apollo cult x Persian mysteries and Hellenistic Judaism. The rest is cooked up a century or so later by cultists.
Prometheus is a Titan, not a god. Also, J-dog very, very, very specifically and importantly was supposed to be human at the time. The exact nature of his transition to/from and/or status as a god at the moment of those events has been the cause of some minor but persistent debate. See also: nearly every battle and/or war involving one or more European factions since the Battle of the Milvian Bridge.
@@piedpiper1172 hate to be that guy but in Greek mythology there's no difference in type between titans and gods. They're just terms used to delineate the early generations of deities. They all descend from Gaia and Ouranos.
@@markthompson-st6hg Except Zeus seized godhead (that is, the actual essence of divinity, power, and authority) from his father-just as he had seized it from Ouranos. Their bodies are capable of being gods-that is, actively wielding godhead-but are not in possession of it at the time of their suffering. By the end of Titanomachy, the titans are no longer godly holders of divine power, authority, or dignity. Even in the most generous accounts where Zeus eventually releases them, he does so because his power is unassailable by them. Prometheus-though his body is capable of holding it-does not possess godhead/godly dignity when suffering, nor do any of the punished titans. Depending on which particular side of Christian internecine warfare one wishes to endorse, this would also be true of J-dog upon the cross. Though capable of wielding godhead, whilst upon the earth as a human, he did not possess it (in this case it is voluntarily left to god the father and, if you picked a sect which endorses the idea, god the spirit). Of course, given Zeus’ rampant paranoia concerning uppity humans, one could suspect that *we* are also capable of wielding godhead, if we could but seize it. That capacity, whilst unfulfilled, does not make us gods-just as the titans once deposed were not.
Alpha Primus has so much portential to be so many different things. Could he be an attempt at an Emperor Clone? What if body (dead or alive) used is Alpharius or Omegon? How much influence does Cawl's genetic information play into Alpha Primus's purpose? What is his connection to the Emperor, why are the Chaos gods interested in him? So much more I want to delved into learning about this guy and glad to see another video talking on him. So much better than anything I could come up with! Can't wait to see what they do with him.
All primarchs are from the emperors gene i believe correct? So seeing 20 marines in grey in the mirror would be like 20 primarchs? To me alpha is a attempt to clone the emperor himself because he would have some of the emperors DNA. The clone isn't perfect but a success nonetheless i think.
Primus would make the PERFECT host for the god emperor reborn. Maybe the ONLY possible host. If every primarch contained an aspect of the emperor then were h🎉e to die primus would have everything he needs to be the perfect biological and spiritual host for the emporer. Primus and/or Caul might also even already have that part of the Emperors soul - hope, empathy, love - that he divested himself of when he chose to not become a god before he ascended to face Horus . The love and hope Caul expressed to Bile about Primarus being his son, and given Caul's ability to aquire and integrate other minds into himself, makes me strongly suspect one of those minds may indeed be that part of his spirit the Emperor removed and cast off to the stars. That said, Another fascinating and highly enjoyable vid! Happy new year. 🥳🤘
i keep coming back on this stream . every time i hear something i missed the previous time . i have shared this many times to all my friends . Alphs primus is the most interesting space marine right now
Great video! I have a homebrew Primaris Chapter called the Dread Lords and over Facebook and Instagram I’ve gone in-depth on their lore over the last few years as well as physically building and painting two full Battle Companies for the tabletop. My lore for the Dread Lords is that they are officially listed as a Raven Guard but Cawl secretly created them from Konrad Curze’s geneseed. Basically Sons of the Phoenix but Night Lords.
Yeah, but Cawl isn't exactly known for his forthrightness and unbridled honesty, either. If he believes it will benefit the Imperium that is what he is going to do.
I know that this video is mainly about Primus, but it made me a huge fan of Fabius Bile now. He doesn't have the resources from the Imperium and the Mechanicus like Archmagos Cawl has, but he is still a topnotch if not the best genecrafter. He has made a specimen that is around the same level as Primus. I don't know much about Porter, but it sounds like she has the Pariah gene and makes her effectively the opposite of Primus. Not to mention that Bile hasn't given into the Ruinous Powers and straight up says "Nope" to Slaanesh. He is a man of science to the point it hurts daemons. His will to survive just to pursue more knowledge is remarkable and he somehow got to learn from the Drukhari. Sure, his methods are VERY inhumane, but he makes very good progress despite the lack of resources and having alot of enemies. Oh, and happy New Year everyone may the new year bring you fortune and happiness!
In a way Bile has access to a hell of a lot more resources than Cawl has in the imperium. Remember that Bile was from the great crusade era, and their tech was a damn sight more advanced then current day Imperium. It’s the access to unaltered traitor, loyalist, and perhaps more importantly the Big E’s genetic code he didn’t have.
Holy shit. WHAT IF Primus is the body the Emperor needs to get in to one day being as strong but unstable as it is. Cawl having soul merged, warp hurting Primus? It all adds up.
Im pretty confident that cawl is gna resurect Johnny Space into Rubberman ghillie suites body ONLY AFTER alpha primus subdues rubberboot gimp suit and cawl does the same or better modifications to him and primes him for the emporors resurection.......why else would Big E call rouberte* his last tool, his last....hope
Technically there was an infinite number of warp entities that are unrelated to chaos they could be imbued with. The only reason we see so much chaos from the warp is basically because it does in its realm what they do in ours expand, invade, and kill everything. So while never stated to be the level of a warp God any entities in the warp still alive after the birth of slannesh would have to be considerably powerful.
Many of the pictures of Caul, including many of the most reused artwork, remind me of a Platypus. Rather than hanging down, the artwork gives the impression that his rebreather is as a duck bill, jutting straight out like a Platypus.
Hey just wanna say I love your videos you explain everything so great deff my fav Warhammer narrator please make more videos of the lion and Gillman and all things upcoming
Alpha Primus is probably the body the Emperor is supposed to possess. Sound alike their souls are connected "Every second of my life is pain"....the Emperor has been feeling pain for the past 10k years. If Primus has been awake this entire time then he must be a perpetual as well. Because the second oldest Space Marine is Dante and he is a 10th of Primus' age and even Dante looks old whereas Primus does not.
I like the idea that Alpha Primus could be an amalgamation of all gene seed so that when he comes face to face with any space marine or primarch loyalist or traitor he has common ground to work with, it adds to Belisarius’ mystique or is he isn’t he a heretec or is he out for himself just playing all the bases
A thought, what if it isn't Magnus in him? Think about this. The Emperor had back ups of most his sons but not all. You could see Lorgar doing Gillian's word maybe not quite the same way but he could. Vulkan and Perturabo, Conrad and Corvus, you get the idea. There's two that I can think of that didn't have a back up. Magnus and Angron. So would it not stand to reason the missing two are the back ups for his psychic needs and his empathetic needs? My thoughts are as follows Alpha Primus feels the pain of the failures and has powerful psychic abilities because he is made of both the missing Primarchs, I mean that or he's just Magnus and Angron
i dont know how old the books are that you are referencing but im glad the Dune callbacks are still a thing. I recon the timeline is about to enter the scattering portion of Dune.
Alpha Primus is the big E. This is his failsafe. A new body, created of the pieces his took out of his former self to create his sons. Perhaps he doesn t remember for whatever reason, who his former, part-self was.
at his premise, being the perfect space marine makes him sound like matt ward's wet dream, but it seems primus was well thought out by a less self-gratifying author and refined into a flawed and fateful character for the setting's future, enough to draw the attention and investment of both the chaos gods and the emperor very quickly. the future of the 41st millenium is looking neat. though I want to see those chaos superdudes and new men in plastic!
I feel sorry that Primus has so much loathing for Cawl, without realising how much his maker cares about him. Also, I need Cawl and Bile to find a common ground and work together, I NEED IT... I love them both so much
I always thought the mirror scene was a reflection of ones true soul/souls. I thought that maybe cal found a way to make mini emperor, not in body though, and the pain he feels is the pain of a vessel with to much in it which is why he can see his soul disjointed from his body.
My theory is that Primus is a hidden, under the cocktail of other gene material, "Janus shard" of Magnus. As well as I am sure that Cawl himself has a shard of the Emperor, or possibly Malcador
The oldest space marine is probably astelan in 40k. He’s one of the first space marines as he served the emperor himself before the primer he were found and he’s still alive in 40k as a fallen.

Halfway between. I means it’s stated in the book. A lot of speculation in the comments because they haven’t read it
If they can build a body that can hold a Primarch amalgam, they can build a body that can hous the Emperor
@maxaudet5177
Emperor:"Roboute, I'll no longer require your body to become my avatar for I have forged a new body."
Gman:"Fine by me."
Emperor:"What? You don't have any hard feelings, not jealousy?"
Gman:"Nah I'm good, as a matter of fact, I pity the poor bastard who's gonna have to carry you, you are the emperor but you're also a shitty father you know?"
Emperor:"On second thought, maybe I'll stay here a little bit longer"
Gman:"Fuck you!"
Imagine how disappointing it would be if Primus is only exactly what he say he's, despite bile and Cawl talking that he doesnt know for sure. Afterall hes a multiple milennia being with incredible power. In the end it appeals as a Frankenstein monster to me.
I'm always stoked for a new sandman vid best lore channel there is
Thanks man!
I believe Alpha Primus to be more than a custodian.
Edit: also I don't think Bile would be so amazed if it was just a space marine of all gene seeds. He has to be something much more. Most likely similar to a primarch.
Maybe a clone of the Emperor himself ?
huge "forge of mars" trilogy flashback. techpriests clone themselves and sometimes end up developing affection for their offspring by accident.
I have a feeling that he had 11 brothers who were cut up by the old man in the same way and finally patched together with him. Maybe a steep idea, but I find it interesting.
As disturbing as that idea is I wouldn’t put it past Cawl 😭
19 more likely. In the Great Work Felix sees 20 space marines instead of Alphas reflection
Just found your channel and really enjoy your videos. I especially like how you cite sources on-screen
Welcome aboard!
"Gods do not suffer."
Tell that to Prometheus. There was also this one pretty well documented event at Golgotha about 2000 years ago. You may have heard of it.
Oh that's where No 1 accidentky sent the Death toilet backward 16:43 s in time and met Christ who told him, your a poor suffering bastard aren't you?
Seems like Alpha Primus is Cawl’s own thunder warrior 2.0, which I’m all down for 😎
I was always interested in how Bile goal was to make Human free of the warp. To save the human race even thought he is a choas marine
I think definitely Angron empathy and can feel the emperors pain
Sousou no Frieren has a similar "message from the past" moment from someone who knows the future.
It's a neat trick.
Yeah I agree he'll be the Emperor's new body / avatar
perfect way to start the new year
Cawl must have shat himself when Big E talked to him from the fucking past lol
Slowly becoming one of my top wrhammer channels I like to listen to. Keep up the good work
i keep coming back on this stream . every time i hear something i missed the previous time . i have shared this many times to all my friends .
"I am the one"
So Cawl has geneseed from the Lost Primarchs? That means he can create Space Marines with it
He could do! And he did ask Guilliman about using traitor Geneseed but big blue said no.
Party pooper!
Yeah, but Cawl isn't exactly known for his forthrightness and unbridled honesty, either. If he believes it will benefit the Imperium that is what he is going to do.
He definitely needs to bring back the most lethal legion...the luna wolves
Cawl has to be my favorite character outside of Gulliman and Big E
Honestly your vocally MADE for this gig...my man's got a voice that could melt butter....🗣️🔥🧈
Robute Guileman is a pencil pusher
He has plot armor and convenience, more powerful than anything in the galaxy.
Cawl is the Emperor's Wild Card in the great game between him and Chaos.
Holy shit.
WHAT IF Primus is the body the Emperor needs to get in to one day being as strong but unstable as it is.
Cawl having soul merged, warp hurting Primus?
It all adds up.
Imagine that the Emperor in the end is planning for Cawl to forge a new body for the Leader of Mankind.
Was just thinking of this. Think about Primarch 0.
Primarch 0 is all the sons in one.
Valdor? The big E went to insane lengths to get him.
@shanepatrick4534 Not Valdor. The Original Angel that went crazy. Yes, Big E tried to destroy him but Malcador saved him and hid him.
Primarchs are indeed will always be touched by the warp since they are made of the warp by having warp gods in them.
That's a fan theory btw
Technically there was an infinite number of warp entities that are unrelated to chaos they could be imbued with. The only reason we see so much chaos from the warp is basically because it does in its realm what they do in ours expand, invade, and kill everything. So while never stated to be the level of a warp God any entities in the warp still alive after the birth of slannesh would have to be considerably powerful.
Many of the pictures of Caul, including many of the most reused artwork, remind me of a Platypus. Rather than hanging down, the artwork gives the impression that his rebreather is as a duck bill, jutting straight out like a Platypus.
From everything I've heard, Primus is comparable to Constantine Valdor.
And boy would I love to see that interaction 👀
First time i see one of your vids, cool storytelling ! Helps me immerse myself with the new lore !
Glad you enjoy it!
Do you think Primus will be the host of the Star child soul fragment? It would explain the soul not fitting
Also he’s clearly a custode attempt
The star child will be a kid, and custodes can only be made from infants and don't use gene seed
Hey just wanna say I love your videos you explain everything so great deff my fav Warhammer narrator please make more videos of the lion and Gillman and all things upcoming
Thanks! WIll do!
i love your funny analogies of wh40k to present day events / items. Subscribed!
The idea of the New Men as described by Bile here sounds like it'd be a nice addition to the Tau Empire.
Great video to end de year, love to learn new things about the lore, since im quite new to the hobby myself
-Fabulous Bill- Fabius Bile is a fascinating character too...
Your voice is perfect for voice reads especially of warhammer content keep up the great work man
Fascinating lore with these two characters
It was so cool when Alpha Primus revealed he was Alpharius Prime all along
And then he says, "I will unlock All 40,000 warhammers!"
Finally you brought up this man to light... it only took 1 story to make me a fan of Alpha Primus.
Yeah pretty sure Alpha Primus is supposed to be the Emperor's next avatar of sorts
Ultimate spreadsheet user. I like that.
The hate Primus has for warp travel is how I feel about automated trains.
Happy New Year Sandman and fans
You too brother
Alpha Primus being battered by the Chaos Gods: “LEAVE ME ALONE *chime* GAAAHHH”
Big E: “HERE THIS FREEDOM RAHHHHHH🦅🦅”
In My head cannon one of the 2 missing legions primarchs was a blank, this may also be why Alpha’s soul doesn’t “sit well” within him.
Not even remotely possible
@@thedevourer.Source?
@domri-6582 the entire lore around ALL the primarchs shows they all have a strong psychic connection, their souls shine brightest of all.
@@thedevourer. Yeah that's not a source tho. No reason one of the lost primarchs couldn't be a blank.
@domri-6582 except for the fact gene seed is psychic in nature, and thus none of the astartes can be blanks either.
Very interesting. I liked it a lot. Thanks for making this
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great episode mate
Magnus the Red has incredible psychic talent.
And nipple horns, don't forget the nipple horns!
Never played Warhammer, but the more lore I listen to; I realize some of my really bad mushroom/acid trips weren’t as far out as I imagined.
Just found your channel. Your voice as a narrator for this content is amazing. Love it.
Glad you enjoy it!
thank you soo much for putting source material FINALLY SOMEONE LISTENS TO THE COMMENT!!
I like the idea that Alpha Primus could be an amalgamation of all gene seed so that when he comes face to face with any space marine or primarch loyalist or traitor he has common ground to work with, it adds to Belisarius’ mystique or is he isn’t he a heretec or is he out for himself just playing all the bases
he is probably a Primarch without the warp infusion
Mephiston vs Alpha Primus. Can Alpha step outside of time to fight, if not he is dead very quickly.
Great voice a very rich and full bodied tone. An excellent narrator.
13:03 honestly sounds like he needs a training arc
Alpha Primus is the big E. This is his failsafe. A new body, created of the pieces his took out of his former self to create his sons. Perhaps he doesn t remember for whatever reason, who his former, part-self was.
I'm thinking the star child might be integrated or something. Perhaps he'll be able to swap places on the throne.
"Gods do not suffer"
Necrons: get a load of this shit! aight?! XD
"Intensely psyhic, saved by emperor himself."
yep, this is the shard of magnus's noble souls.
I really appreciate you're different voices bro! Keep it up!
at his premise, being the perfect space marine makes him sound like matt ward's wet dream, but it seems primus was well thought out by a less self-gratifying author and refined into a flawed and fateful character for the setting's future, enough to draw the attention and investment of both the chaos gods and the emperor very quickly.
the future of the 41st millenium is looking neat.
though I want to see those chaos superdudes and new men in plastic!
It sounds like Primus outclasses Cawl, what keeps him in line?
Man, things are ramping up to be a hell of a year for 40K! I'm super excited!
You and me both!
I feel sorry that Primus has so much loathing for Cawl, without realising how much his maker cares about him.
Also, I need Cawl and Bile to find a common ground and work together, I NEED IT... I love them both so much
"fortunately, Belisarius Cawl is such a child"....best line yet.
Perhaps big E might use Primus to come back.....perhaps even possess him!
I always thought the mirror scene was a reflection of ones true soul/souls. I thought that maybe cal found a way to make mini emperor, not in body though, and the pain he feels is the pain of a vessel with to much in it which is why he can see his soul disjointed from his body.
Stumbled on this video by accident….in reality the Emperor guided me!!
Welcome!
My theory is that Primus is a hidden, under the cocktail of other gene material, "Janus shard" of Magnus. As well as I am sure that Cawl himself has a shard of the Emperor, or possibly Malcador
21 min mark: Aweee, so Cawl DOES have feelings!
Alpha Primus:
Yet another "Humans prevail all" advertisement.
Tsssssk.
The oldest space marine is probably astelan in 40k. He’s one of the first space marines as he served the emperor himself before the primer he were found and he’s still alive in 40k as a fallen.
this is a crazy universe. 40 millennia. unimaginable
