C'mon, man. Ten minutes of video talking about tools, etc., and then just still pictures for the parts that *really* require video? How about video of the dash removal (the clips especially), and crimping the whitecaps?
fre1102 Hey sorry I was very pressed in getting this done for my customer, that I had to rush the important stuff. This video has a better description of wiring the white caps. @watch?v=iTrVOF6G01k
The bezel the radio mounts to literally pulls out. Grab it and pull. Unhook wires, it's out. Trim it, reinstall bezel, mount the car kit to the radio, install radio and go.
At 12:35 do we have any other options of mounting the unit in the dash other than screwing through the side of the plastic dash housing? I feel like the weight of the u it could snap the plastic?
Can you cut the tubing on the stock radio wiring to access the wires to adapt the double din? I tried pulling mine out and its protected the tubing on the video at 10:21 do I have to cut that in order to get th the stock wires and bind them??? plz reply back Im have confussion
On the harnesses on an F150 03 I have two plugins which one of the plugins do I use is it the vet Square One are the skinny Square One so I can get the extra plug it goes for the radio which one do I use I know you said something about 16-pin but I need to know if it's the big one or the small one that makes any sense I would really appreciate it to know what plug-in I need for that truck cuz there are two of them thank you
Question wanted to know if you knew what the wire harness that is behind the blank cap located on the dash right below the back up parking sensor off switch. its at about the10:00 mark on your video?
+mdff3 I know what your talking about..But I can't remember what plugs into it, some models have an additional electronic piece, however they put the wire there even if it doesn't have the additional switch.
I am n installer and to bypass the parking brake to watch videos it depends on the radio you are installing, some you can just attach the parking brake wire to ground, others like pioneer require a double or even triple pulse of the ground once the vehicle is started in which you can buy a rebuilt bypass adaptor on eBay or you can wire in a toggle switch, some people even wire in a relay. FOR BEST RESULTS GOOGLE YOUR RADIO MODEL NUMBER ALONG WITH PARKING BRAKE BYPASS. Hope this helps. Disclaimer- I am not responsible for any damage caused by trying any methods explained here, nor am I responsible for anyone trying to use video functions while driving which can be dangerous and is illegal. The above explanation is for those who may have a parking brake that does not function properly.
Have a 2002 ford excursion. Just put in my new head unit and my cluster and thermostat lights no longer work. But if i plug the wire back into the stock head unit it works. So obviously a wrong wire but the head unit and speakers are working fine and i matched wires correctly. I've installed many head units and never had this problem... Any ideas? Is the "illumination" wire off the head unit for dash illumination or head unit illumination?
I want to try this on my 01 expedition is it the same.cuz the one that came with my suv doesnt like to work that much no more 7in dp radio habe to pull it out whwn half way and push it back in half way then it make this annoying gear sound.was free when i bought car
Im installing some subs in my 99 f350 and i cant figure out which wire i connect the amp to the double din. I need help most of the wires are ready to go.
How do you trick the system into playing dvd's without the parking brake applied? An installer told me you just had to use a jumper or something to that effect.
if tou would have had the correct din kit the sides would not need trimmed . I have the correct kit but found that after I trimmed the sides it won't work. Having to replace my dash bezel.
darkjedi351 It has a bracket that screws in on each side of the radio and slides into the dash opening and pops in place. It's not very easily removable but can be done without any screw holes. But you still have to cut some of the trim inside the dash opening to get it to fit. The stock radio will still go back in no problem though
darkjedi351 No problem. Should be part number 95-5817 for that truck. You need to trim the top and bottom lips of the dash opening. Don't trim the sides or it won't fit
sorry to criticize your video but you spent way too long showing how many tools and this and that for installation and then this helps very little to the one who searched this seeking for detailed instructions on wiring plus some tips... also a parts list with links would be nice. so far i learned nothing from this...
***** Thank you for your time, and suggestions for improvements! I was very pressed for time in completion of this project that I had to stop do video and just take pictures. Sorry
No offense you talk a lot. Would prefer see u doing the installation. Everyone who watches videos it because we r view learners no audio learners. Thanks!
Dude you made a 10 min job into like a 45 min job.... could of used a file to file the top and bottom down without taking the dash off. Less talk and more show
What a lousy post. Still pictures don't help. If he really wanted to help us he would show in live views of everything he showed in stills.. A big waste of time!!!!
Important stuff starts at 9:54. Watch on at least 1.5x speed.
10:02 your welcome
doing the lords work, we thank you kindly :D

Seth Rogan teaching us how to install a stereo 😆😬😄😜😝
Not sure Seth Rogen would ever clap his hands together and scream 'WOOOO'
Lmao my first thought when i saw this

What Sony radio/model did you install? I'm looking to put one in my 2000 F350.
So when you might need to remove the new radio, does the dash need to be removed again?
Parking brake wire usually works if u just ground green wie to metal so kids u can watch videos while ur driving

Clever! That double din sure beats my Y2K era stock radio
Thanks!
I hope you've gotten better with your videos over the past 5 years , but I dont want to waste any more of my time finding out.
What install kit did you use ?? That is the big question?
Yeah, waste of time without information like that.
I'm doing the install this weekend with a back up camera....does the reverse gear signal wire connect to factory harness from truck?
Have a 2002 ford excursion. Just put in my new head unit and my cluster and thermostat lights no longer work. But if i plug the wire back into the stock head unit it works. Any idea if I can put a ford 07 double din in my 2000
Not very easily... Im sure it could be done however I would not recommend it.
What do you think it'd require. Would the computer support it?
I want to try this on my 01 expedition is it the same.cuz the one that came with my suv doesnt like to work that much no more 7in dp radio habe to pull it out whwn half way and push it back in half way then it make this annoying gear sound.was free when i bought car
Yeah I THINK so, however I have not put a 2 din radio in one. So I'm not sure.

Witch installation kit did u use
9:56
i just pissed my pants at the loud video transition @8:54
Thanks man you look and sound like Seth toga thanks again
where is parking brake wire is it on on transmission gear selector?
+tedkay the parking brake wire is located at the emergency brake pedal assembly on the top of the brake pedal assembly is the wire
What happens if you just don't connect that wire and cap it off? Will everything still work correctly?
No it needs to see a ground signal..
+Rockets McSauce you can over Ride the parking brake wire by connecting it straight to the metal casing of stereo
Doing things like this on old cars with crap interior make it look soo much better with gadgets
What is the part number on wiring harness? I'mabout to do the same setup
if tou would have had the correct din kit the sides would not need trimmed . I have the correct kit but found that after I trimmed the sides it won't work. Having to replace my dash bezel.
So grateful they offer better kits now.....Jesus they used to butcher the dash to accomplish this install.
Wow this is amazing 👏🏼i 97 f-150 short bed this might help bro bro appreciate it💯
What wiring harness did you use?
You can skip ten mins if you enjoy your life
Expeditions as well have some trimming to get it to fit.
What size radio was that
What about a double sided tape to hold the trim piece
What was the dash kit part number you used? I want to do this to my 01 f-250
Scosche dash kit part# FD1330B www.scosche.com/car-audio/95-ford-double-din-mounting-kit
Hey, will this kit work on a 2005 ford ranger edge ? thanks :)
How do I proform a bypass?
You forgot the 2 screws on top of the radio!
I think it's much easier to use the metra dash kit and cut the dash while it's in the truck and not remove the whole thing. good job though
Good tip

A lot cleaner to cut it out of the truck. Takes 1 min to remove or install the bezel.
Is this tge same as with the 450 super duty
NRTHCALI559 Yes
Do one on a 99 Chevy Silverado

Learn how to solder man. that harness looks like it was made in a high school parking lot during lunch break.
Good Lord, you yacked on for 10 mins... only to use photographs for your “video”. 🤨
Dremel isn't necessary, use a filer.
99-04 f250-550
Dude dragging this out forever

Uhm, first.... disconnect the battery on your vehicle before working with any electrical components! 😉

Would prefer see u doing the installation.

Poor video. Poor installation. Video could have been 30 seconds long
Dude you made a 10 min job into like a 45 min job.... could of used a file to file the top and bottom down without taking the dash off. Less talk and more show
And like to the epoxy
