that’s a lovely little WRX! I love these cars but silver is honestly the ugliest colour any car could have. Especially a cool car like this! Keep doing these dude!
@Jayerbruh living in the north, where the sky and the road are the same grey colour, these silver cars just disappear. It takes away from them being special because they become somewhat invisible. A bold red or, in this case, blue, would make all the difference. Grey silver is fine on a Mercedes A Class, for the elderly gentleman who barely remembers what the two pedals do, not a car as fun as a WRX.
That's part of why I didn't really want to keep it! I do love silver on some of my BMW's but this car in blue would be so much more fun. It's not a widebody either so someone else can enjoy her!

Nice!!! wow an 09, that's a excellent car for cheap! EEK that intake was in the wrong place! That timing belt was so bad! you got it right before explosion! those poor motor mounts too, how the heck did that happen? Arizona sun bake them? (WRX's are fun in the winter! but they do tend to rust along the wheel wells, thin paint, I had a 95 STi Wagon 300awhp RHD for many winters, it was so light that it didn't get much traction even with snow tires, the E61 is so much fat-asser, makes the traction!) I've had a Bugeye wagon 5speed for a few years now that I haven't had time to finish and sell, it almost done though and up for sale, look forward to the next one!
Yeah I was pretty stoked when this guy said he would sell me this one and the bugeye for $1500. You will enjoy the bugeye video, I think I will work on that one after new years. I bought a 09 forester to do a video on why you should buy a cheap Subaru to go off-roading with and it hasn't gone well lol. So that's the next video.
@@AgatasKatkus Thats a great deal on two cars! that must have been super sketch on the way home with no motor mounts, and the diff flopping around!! Oh the 95, it had two wings! I had a tune from a guy who did EJ20 swaps into old RS cars as I remember, came with the quite laggy, but large 16g, that car had like 90hp off of boost, but sheesh it pulled hard (when it worked eventually) intercooler sprayer too!! I had a 93 WRX as well imported with like 30,000miles on it, it ripped, time capsule! 3 Legacy Twin-turbos as well over the years, a properly complex solution to turbo lag! I saw often those off-road Subarus in the US driven by the youngsters, that should be a popular video when you get it done! Forester Turbo\Autos were one of the cheapest imports here for a while, every 18yr old had a thunder cannon and cut springs on it, until they all blew up. A Teen bought my STi and blew the motor a month later, of course. My 3000GT VR4 as well, the super young guy blew the motor a month later, I was pretty furious. Nothing worse then seeing a car you worked so hard to restore, blown up after you sold it! Shipping has 2x from Japan now, and customs 2x as well, so JDM imports not the value they used to be, Subaru's were like 4000$ Canadian all in for a 70,000k Mint mobile, sigh. (Videos on my channel of some of the cars)
Yeah I was blown away when he offered this car to me for $800. Yeah this guy was pushing this car to its absolute limits lol. I think this car has pretty much never been serviced in a 150k miles. I checked out some of the cars on your channel, the wagon was so sick! Is it pretty easy to import cars in Canada?
@@AgatasKatkus Great deals! sometimes people just need stuff out of their life and know they can't fix it, or it really needs a lot! Its not that easy to import and legal really, at least to make it cost effective, it took me quite a while to figure out all the paperwork, they require a really thorough and expensive safety procedure to get legal, daytime running lights, and everything has to be perfect, zero leaks, every bulb working etc. Most of the cars for export from Japan that don't cost a fortune are trouble childs in one way or another (A reason someone put them up for sale), or have been sitting for years and have siezed up parts (Always a fear of rolled back Odo etc crash damage). Still though you can get cool stuff with very low usage, but right hand drive isn't for everyone, and the resale is a pretty limited market of teenagers, mostly (there is some market for Diesel vans etc for some older people). I"ve been getting left hand drive from another country in Asia, low K's but they can have major rust issues. With the ludicrous prices of new cars, and the whole Covid insane used car thing though, even with way higher costs from Asia, they're still a great value, just depends on how long it takes me to make the thing perfect to pass safety, and then actually sell. High interest rates on used car loans really limit who can afford low K used stuff as well! Ultimately people seem more likely to get 80 month financing on a new Hyundai then a 8% used car loan on a mint, super awesome Diesel SUV\RHD Lexus etc. from overseas, sometimes. Check out Pacific Coast Auto youtube channel, I use those guys from Japan import, they have many videos of the stuff outta japan, the nice cars though are very expensive, similar to north american prices, you have to find the low demand stuff, etc. Also we can do 15yr old cars as opposed to 25yr old cars in USA, there used to be Mk4 Supras and Skylines everywhere, all blown up by kids, all recycled into Teslas by this point, sigh.
@@NZbmxer0 I gotcha, I like how how a lot of newer cars have piggyback modules available to retain the factory unit to add car play. That's the slickest way to do it
Contrary to popular belief Subaru boxer engines, especially the post-2008 EJ revisions and the FA series engines are extremely durable, it's just people abusing them and doing really stupid things in them that cause them to fail. This was a killer deal, even with the flip whoever bought it from you most likely got a killer deal as well.
Yeah I 100% agree! Once you start pushing these engines they become unhappy lol. All the Subarus I’ve had that I treated nicely and serviced super frequently never let me down. All the ones I’ve modified and beat on blew up lol. Hopefully this bug eye doesn’t turn into one of those lol. The person who bought the car got it for $3500 and drove it back to Albuquerque. Which is about 6 hours back with no issues. He is happy and that makes for a good sale in my book even though I could’ve gotten more
Recently bought a one owner auto ggb wrx with an oil starved engine for $800. I got a clean long block for $2000. Changed out some of the seals, dropped it in, and sold it for $5500. GG/GD wrxs are too cool, id like to get one for myself in a manual.
That’s awesome man! The bug eye is going to be more work and I have a forester that will be in the next video! If you like Subarus I’m going through a faze right now lol
Nice car, kind of in the price range where i buy my shit boxes in. Question, is it posible to delete the subtitles, youtube can generate them bij itself and i have the choice to put it off and on. Greets from the netherlands, like your channel!
The best price range for shit boxes for sure 🤘 the next videos onward I will not put subtitles in. They just do such a bad job lol. Appreciate you watching! Thank you!
Be very careful using the breaker bar on the crank. I tried that on a Subaru Legacy, similar engine, and it snapped the bolt off in the end of the crankshaft. It was an absolute nightmare to get the bolt out after that. 🤦🏼♂️
That's insane dude! I've done this more times than I can remember without a problem. Was your bolt super corroded or something? I'm just wondering if you put an impact gun on it if the same thing would've happened? I would be so broken if that happened to me.
@ The only thing I can think of is the bolt had been cross threaded being put in or as you say really rusty, I could not undo it with a 3ft breaker bar, which is why I tried the same method you used.
@@AgatasKatkus nope, didn’t get it out. The bolt seemed to be hardened as I could not drill it. I won’t tell you how I “fixed it” but I sold it cheap not long after 🤦🏼♂️
found a 2007 impreza that says it had a 370hp 2.0l gas engine in it, and it has "sti" stickers on it and the dealer wants 9.8k€ for it, idk, is it what it says it is? even if it is, would it be worth it? idk...
Idk man you always gotta be careful with Subarus. They will will all eventually "Blow up" at some point. Especially if they have been modified. Even if you do your own work parts can get really expensive really fast
@AgatasKatkus thanks man, i was gonna consider buying this as a daily fun car, i dont want a german car because of basically same thing as the subaru's issues you told me about, really an eye opener, thanks a ton
@ I mean honestly I do love Subarus and if you find one that has been maintained and not messed with a bunch of aftermarket stuff they can be fairly reliable. If you learn to work on it yourself it will always be worth it if you can fix it
@AgatasKatkus im looking to get a reliable first car as a car guy, its kinda hard because i have the hype of all these cars but still have to keep it realistic , so when i found the impreza, i had this question mark
@@g.adrian. You should get an older lexus, like an LS400 or sc300/400. Even a gs300/400. They are pretty indestructible, they sell for cheap all the time, lots of them in junkyards for parts, and they have potential for tuning/ building down the line. They are also luxurious which is fun. I road tripped a really nice gs400 fully loaded from Arizona to New York and it was easy in that thing.
how much did you spend repairing it, and how long did it take you? im impressed! ive got an 09 na Impreza and have a timing belt kit for it, the crank tip to get the pully off is just what i needed lol
Make sure to rent or buy a pulley holder tool so you can torque the bolt down after the job! As for how much I spent, I think I spent about another $1000. I have commercial pricing though on parts
@@PlaxxFN Well its always good to start simple, and take all the plugs out, check conditions of them, and do a compression test to start. Then If all that turns out good, it could possibly be coil packs failing. If its not that then vacuum leaks are also very common.
subaru being unreliable is a myth. Look into 2.5gts same drivetrain as wrx/sti and they last 250,000 miles often. Just don't slame ur car with launches from 0 and do your oil changes your fine. If buy a cheap 2.5gt (preferably a 2.5gt) off of facebook marketplace, and voila, put coilovers on it and you turn better then sti's/wrx's and your car is more likely to not have been beat on, you have practically the same speed, and your safe to build to 300whp for under $2-3k in supporting mods. Plus they are ungodly cheap for what they are. Recently got a manual 2.5gt limited for $600 thats mostly stock, fixed minor issues for under $200 and voila I have one hell of a car that pulls great (cold air intake other small things + 20 degrees out atm) , has been nothing but reliable, if your looking for a subaru Id suggest buying a subaru legacy 2.5gt, if you can find a clean one for sale. Chances are they were not wrx level abused, and are still one hell of a car. Definitely worth buying a 2.5gt if you can find one, they are probably one of the most underrated cars I've seen. Good torque all around, turbo noise is great if you have a nice blowoff valve, cold weather your probably doing a 13 something quarter mile. Or if you like pain and torture do the smartest route of buying a nice no rust shell of your chosen subaru chasis and buy a very low mileage engine and make a comprehensive expensive build.

Lol it keeps getting better...I hope no one is watching these videos and Googling these items
It would’ve made more sense if it was the Valkyrie belt lol
Can you work on some Honda accords
I might be down to work on some of the really old Hondas and put a sport bike engine in them. I like the K series as well and would love to swap something, but honestly never been a huge fan of Hondas. Mainly because I like RWD stuff. It would cool to give one a shot though!
Nice!!! wow an 09, that's a excellent car for cheap!
She was holding on for dear life though, I can't believe I drove this thing back an hour without it giving up lol. Dude a GC8 sti is legendary! I'm so jealous they didn't sell them here!
Also we can do 15yr old cars as opposed to 25yr old cars in USA, there used to be Mk4 Supras and Skylines everywhere, all blown up by kids, all recycled into Teslas by this point, sigh.
besides that new headhunt everytihgin was a well done
Wait what! Why is that?
@ looks strange how it sticks out past the stock area just a personal thing I’m not into cheap Chinese units
He is happy and that makes for a good sale in my book even though I could’ve gotten more
@@AgatasKatkus I would have definitely swooped that up for $3500 as well lol
@@PsychoCPU Yeah I think he will really enjoy it and after a paint job and a new wing it will be a slick car
@ good luck subaru-ing! 2.0 turbo is where its at…
Nice car, kind of in the price range where i buy my shit boxes in.
@@chrisgreen1094 Dang that really sucks, at least you managed to get it out!
NVIDIA the graphic cards company makes Exhausts??
Everybody’s got a side hustle now a days lol
What was the sale price? Dont leave us hanging
Stay tuned for the bug eye wrx! I will reveal all the details of both!
how much did you spend repairing it, and how long did it take you? im impressed! ive got an 09 na Impreza and have a timing belt kit for it, the crank tip to get the pully off is just what i needed lol
Make sure to rent or buy a pulley holder tool so you can torque the bolt down after the job! As for how much I spent, I think I spent about another $1000. I have commercial pricing though on parts
Nice man how many miles on her?
She had just over 150k miles
2003 for 400.. engine blown up.. but i have a junk yard and ut will cost me 250 plus the core and ill do a swap..
Your going to love the bug eye video then! Same concept!
Man i fucking miss my 09 subby hatchback :( it was a 2.5i NA .. slow but curved just like a miata
Thats awesome dude! The next video is on an NA subie so stay tuned for that one!
What kind of head unit was that?
amzn.to/3DvcTOZ
My wrx at home is missfiring pretty bad, and has a lot of other issues, im not a mecanic so idk what i'm gonna do
Most of the time these misfire due to bad spark plugs or coil packs. If anything just start by scanning it with a cheap code reader
@@AgatasKatkus My neighbor has one and it says that it has cylinder missfires on all 4 cylinders
@@PlaxxFN Well its always good to start simple, and take all the plugs out, check conditions of them, and do a compression test to start. Then If all that turns out good, it could possibly be coil packs failing. If its not that then vacuum leaks are also very common.
@@AgatasKatkus Thank you!
@@PlaxxFN No problem!
Hi can you link me the radio you put on the wrx?
Yessir! Here it is! amzn.to/3DvcTOZ
All these Chinese head units can be buggy sometimes but work pretty well for the most part.
Thanks Ágatas!
@ no problem!
How much did you sell the WRX for in the end?
I will pull together the numbers and post it with the next wrx video!
That's a cool little car, I'm still afraid to commit to a Subaru due to their unreliable engines x.x
The next video is going to be me proving that Subarus are great cars but it didn't exactly go well😅
subaru being unreliable is a myth.
They are reliable if they are well taken care of. Problem is finding one that was taken care of lol, this car is an example of one that wasn’t
@col5491 that's a valid point
