In their day, Pink Floyd’s members never sought the spotlight; it was always about the music, and the presentation. That’s why you don’t see them much in their videos. 🦁
Pink Floyd would take 2-3 years to make an LP..Like Steely Dan, they believed it was better to spend more time in the studio than touring. And you will LOVE the Pulse show..it's a signature performance by the band, with stunning visuals and a studio-perfect sound!
Pink Floyd (David Gilmour and Nick Mason) recently showed their support for Ukraine by recording a new track 'Hey, hey rise up!' w/ vocals by Ukrainian singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk of BoomBox... He sang acapella on video and Pink Floyd added instruments to his vocals. Very touching musical moment in a dark hour of war... Former bassist/ vocalist Roger Waters has been under fire for his support of Russia and his antagonism towards the current US gov.
Waters was the conceptual genius of Pink Floyd. After he left the 3 remaining members carried on as a simulacrum of the former band. It was still technically brilliant but had lost its edge. Polly Samson's lyrics made it even worse.
@@utnaturalem4379 Really, then why didn't Roger Water's solo albums have an impact? He couldn't even sell out a theater in 1987 while Pink Floyd sold out a stadium nearby... Even David Gilmour's recent solo albums did better than anything Waters put out recently... And that's a FACT 😈 The fact is that Pink Floyd was a collective like The Beatles... and what made them GREAT was the chemistry that the 4 members brought to their records... 🦁There are no near competitors to Pink Floyd. They can't be compared to other bands for no other band sounds like them, or writes about the context they do with such connectivity to the soul and our reservoir of emotions. There are plenty of bands that are epic, masters, and truly the best of what they do, but there is no other band like Pink Floyd. Always a pleasure seeing you react to such wonderful music.
Pink Floyd.....thinking persons music!!! Nearly every one of their songs evoke thoughts or memories.....Great music. I lost my brother at an early age....he loved this band and we played this song at his funeral......it was nice to hear it again and your reaction was great.
I agree with you Pink Floyd is one of the best bands of all time. They have been my favorite band for over 40 years. Was at "Division bell" tour in 1994 in Giant stadium New Jersey. Not the Pulse Concert that got recorded, but it was same tour. It was amazing and you will love it.🦁
When I bought Dark Side If The Moon I laid diwn on the carpet in frint of the stereo and plugged in the headphones....and I was GONE. After the album I couldn't get up. Total trance
The chatter in the background before he leaps of the ciff is actually Nick Mason himself doing pre-takeoff checks. I love how the colours of the flag of Ukraine came about, really links it to the land and the country. David Gilmour's daughter-in-law is from Ukraine, hence he was inspired to release a single where the proceeds were donated to helping people out. 🦁
hmmm song maybe but video and parts of song were influenced by a book by carlos castaneda, what you are seeing is something that happened at the end of his 4rh or 5th book, he became an apprentice of sorts of a indian sorcerer and was introduce to Nagualism. its a very interesting set of books.
And the line 'Unheeded warnings' before 'I thought I thought of everything?' So much meaning in so few words which surely we can all relate to? This is the magic of Pink Floyd
You havent experienced Pink Floyd until you have experienced their later live concerts. They are a LIVE band that also makes great recordings. The Pulse video and DVD is arguably the best live audio and visual experience ever. I am a retired pensioner with little money, but i recently paid $120 for the new remixed Pulse DVD.....although i also have the Pulse CD.
I was at the Pulse concert in Earls Court, magical day and night, 1994 FFS 30yrs ago. Still love it today, and Ukraine will never be bullied into submission - Love from Scotland
I love many bands Floyd is the music I could perform and listen to in perpetuity We exist in a time where there's enough material to create your own soundtrack of life
That voice you hear is David doing the routine take off when he was learning to fly. He actually got lost at one point. It's about his personal experience.
I saw them live on the tour of this album, "Momentary Lapse of Reason ". Learning To Fly is on it. It's a beautiful album. You should check it out. They are my favorite band, too.my best 🦁
Thank you for explaining about the Ukranian flag. One of my best friends has been living and ministering over there for the last several years. I love this song. Can't believe it is sometimes underrated. Like many of their songs, they are using different concepts such as the sound effects and other instrumentation.
The video touches on Native American belive in mystical shape shifting. Hear a native American shap shifts into a bird. Hallucinogens are used in spiritual practices which might cause euphoric feelings, sometimes even feelings of flying. The lyrics freqently mention "earth bound mystic high". I belive this is another reference to using these Hallucinagens, and the euphoric effects they may have. Avid Pink Floyd fan 40 years ago.
I so enjoy watching young people enjoying and appreciating music from my time. It's even more cool when I see it from far away places like Ukraine. Have a lovely day Inna 9:079:07 🦁
I did not know that information about the Ukrainian flag. Thank you for that. Very interesting fact. Much appreciated. I've seen this video probably a hundred times or more. No lie. 🦁
When you mentioned the scene with the fields of gold and the blue sky and the Ukraine it reminded me of a young singer, Daneliya Tuleshova, who won The Voice Kids: Ukraine when she was 10. I believe she is 17 now. She has some original stuff and a ton of covers. If you are interested, I always recommend her cover of Birdy's What About Angels or Aurora's Runaway or Faouzia's Tears of Gold
It was a very long time since I saw the music video, but I was singing along on the chorus. Part of me is still awaiting the following track on the album, 'Dogs of War'. 🦁
Every time i watch you react to music i get a little more addicted.....😊 you cant go wrong with pink floyd and you absolutely cant go wrong with Inna reacting to music, and movies.......❤❤❤ 🔥🔥🔥 its cool about your flag and what it symbolizes, its a beautiful flag that should fly freely all over Ukraine and that include Crimea and Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Luhansk, Mariupol, and anywhere else Putins murderers are not supposed to be. David Gilmour's daughter in law is Ukrainian. 🙂 One vital band member is missing in this line-up; Roger Waters who was Pink Floyds primary songwriter for most of the 1970s. He toured under his own name with live stage performances of Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall in their entirety - you should check out some of those vids on YT.
Pink Floyd did some good tracks after Roger Waters left, but I think most people would say their best material was before that, from Dark Side of the Moon to The Final Cut. I'd love to see your reaction to more of that material if you are new to any of it, particularly Dogs off Animals, which is my favourite track and also one of their heaviest 🦁
I love the dress you are wearing......I would suggest you have a close look at the band's history -- especially the formative years when Syd Barrett was guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. Listen to the first album "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" --- two songs in particular: "See Emily Play" and "Bike".....
I remember hearing Roger Waters would not be in the band anymore back then. I swore I would have nothing to do with them anymore. Then this was their first single and video since being without Waters. I ran right out and bought the album the moment after hearing this. So much for Waters, and I didn't miss him at all on this album, or Division Bell. David Gilmore doesn't get enough credit for his brilliance. Check out his solo album from 1977. You'll see. 🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🤟🍻👏

This live music at Pulse Concert is simply sensational! 😁👍👍

I believe that this was the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert series. Notice the length of David's hair, as it was much shorter for Pulse.
“On the Turning Away” on the same album is another fantastic song. 🦁
And Terminal Frost. The Saxophone is amazing
In their day, Pink Floyd’s members never sought the spotlight; it was always about the music, and the presentation. That’s why you don’t see them much in their videos. 🦁
They would often play with no stage lights.
And that is why I listen to Pink Floyd every day!🦁
Same here.
Me too... I don't listen anything else!

I'll add "Sorrow" to the list of great tracks from this album. Watch it at the "Pulse" concert. (I can't add a lion from my work PC)

Pink Floyd also did a version of that famous Ukrainian song, you know which one... it is called Hey Hey Rise Up... Pink Floyd supports Ukraine. ;)
