Funny how dark souls can start off as the source of pure rage and frustration and then become the source of absolute comfort and peace. I can’t get enough dark souls now.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is my favourite game, it's also my comfort game. Just riding my horse around, hunting, fishing or doing random jobs in RDR online helps me deal with those days when I'm just too tired and want to just chill and relax
Fr. I was 11 when it came out so exploring a world like that at the time had me mesmerized. Every now and then, I go back to the game and mod the shit out of it. My last playthough, I was pretty much playing Sekiro. The ranged enemies early game had me stressing; especially the mages
I played Skyrim from 2012 all the way to mid 2013, every day for hours. I just started playing it all over again 3 weeks ago and I have played for almost 100 hours now.
My biggest comfort game is honestly Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a fun game with a great story that always makes me smile, cry, and just generally remind me why I love video games
Bully, bully is the first game I remember playing when I was a kid. I absolutely love it and still play it to this day. In fact, it's the main reason i got into gaming in the first place. This game will always have a special place in my heart. Loved the story and the characters. Hopefully, we get to see a bully 2 in the future, but we'll see
Mass Effect Batman Arkham Dishonored Assassin's Creed 3 (no idea why but it's my favorite one and I've played through it at least 6 times since 2012) God Of War 2018 RDR2 Mad Max And of course... Skyrim. These are the ones I always go back to when nothing new is doing it for me, or if i just want to pass a few hours without having to learn all new mechanics, or use any brain power to learn the whole lore of a brand new game world. I can just kick back and enjoy them. It's like visiting an old friend for a few hours.
Love this channel man. Used to watch for Destiny 🤮 that was my comfort game & then I decided to make better decisions after LF. I love playing RE4 & the old Cods. Been working on my physical games backlog lately!
@@Lingard487 depends on who you ask lol but no I’ve watched him since those days & we have both grown out of D2. I’ve been loving the content from the channel.
Fallout 3 & New Vegas for me is what I am always playing With TTW I can play them at the same time, and I am ALWAYS in the middle of a playthrough, even if I take a couple weeks off sometimes, I’ve been playing it constantly for years, I just adore those games
Gran Turismo 4, simply the best racing game ever made. Near infinite replayability thanks to the open-ended nature of the Simulation Mode, tons of fun cars to drive, solid track selection, and one of the best soundtracks in all of gaming, both during races and in the menus, it's a masterpiece, and it's relaxing for me to play. AoE2 and AoE3 I also definitely consider as my comfort games.
What a comforting watch, really hit the feelings with bo2, thanks for the video! My confort games are: Spiderman ps1 games, Skyrim, CODs, the ogs God of War, Crash Team Racing and GTAs
Fallout: New Vegas and Kotor/Kotor 2 are games I’ve played annually since playing them for the first time. Everytime I replay them, part of me turns back into that little kid playing star wars games on the original Xbox or the teenager exploring post-apocalyptic Nevada for the first time. Games are really neat memory capsules
Getting closer and closer to my 40s, and this is totally true. I replay N64 and snes much more often, and among the modern games my Dark souls runs are much more confortable than learning an entire new game with brand new, sometime bland mechanics. I started another run of M&M 7 for blood and honor, lots of text walls are less scary than many ultra flash new games... getting old is weird tbh.
Comfort Games -Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1-3 -Saints Row 2 , GTA IV -Resident Evil 2 (PS1) & Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube Version) (although I like nearly every main RE title) -Borderlands 2 -R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 ,Ridge Racer 7 (PS3) -Fallout 3 & 4 (yeah I am the weirdo who doesn't think new vegas is better)
Sly Cooper, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, BloodBorne, Dishonored, Balatro, Dead Cells, Hollow Knight, Batman Arkham City, L.A. Noire, Fallout New Vegas, Cult Of The Lamb, Hades, Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater, classic Battlefront 2, SW Republic Commando, Final Fantasy 6, Bioshock 1& 2, Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga, Shadow Of Mordor and War, Witcher 3, and the last one Titanfall 2. All great comfort games. They all offer a unique experience and have their own interesting game mechanics along with making them unique. I could list a lot more, but I don't want to be here all day.
Final fantasy 6? Oh wow I have been playing the 1994 release on my ps1 emulator its a fun game with a chilling intro tho I still like final fantasy 7 yet to fully beat ff6.
@@pandaprewmaster325 Both great games, though my favorite is still and probably forever will be FFT. I've played it through once or twice every year since first getting it in '97.
Used to be Destiny 2, but since I quit it, it has been The first decendant, Palworld, and Warframe I keep juggling between after coming home from work. Been playing Warframe alongside Destiny for a long time and can really recommend it for people who are looking for a long game with tons of content after you unlock the initial starmap mission.
This one is a hidden gem cause no one ever brings it up but Battle Realms. A fairly simple RTS game inspired by martial arts movies and oriental mythology that I played to death as a kid in an internet cafe back when I lived in the Philippines. My low IQ brain still can't comprehend other RTS games that have more complex mechanics so I always default to this game when I just wanna pass the time
Tecmo's Deception is a game I could always play. And the fact that people don't even know what it is amazes me. There's no game like it. There's a trilogy of the games and they are all amazing. Hiding in a mansion or a castle setting up traps and figuring out the best and most efficient (and cruel) ways to take out invaders was something I never tired of.
I love going back to older games I used to play like Left 4 Dead 2, Halo (all except Infinite, and 4), Destiny 1 (especially when D2 is depressing to even open), some older COD games like MW 2 and 3, BO2 and BO3, and some platformers like Mario or even Rayman These are just games I can start playing and have a good time, even if it's been awhile
I have a super odd one. Mine is Cyberpunk 2077, just running around in night city, driving, doing whatever little job I end up finding and listening to some music. Nothing relaxes me like that, we’ll that and vampire survivors.
Pokemon XD, Pokemon Emerald, Twilight Princess, Madden 06 and NCAA 06 all come to mind. I grew up playing those games, so it's always good to replay them
These are the games that I find most comfortable to get back into, pretty much my favorite games overall: - Resident Evil 1 to 5 (the remakes) - Diablo 2 - Monster Hunter World and Rise - The Batman Arkham Series - Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood - Warcraft 3 - Starcraft 2 - Dragon's Dogma - Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time trilogy - Star Wars KOTOR 1 and 2, Jedi Academy and Battlefront 2 - Halo 1 to Reach - NFS Underground 1, 2, Most Wanted - Nioh 2 - Devil May Cry 3 to 5 - GTA 3 to 5 - C&C Red Alert 2 and 3 - Half-Life 1 and 2 - Left 4 Dead 2 - Mass Effect trilogy - Kingdoms of Amalur - Counter-Strike 1.6 - Final Fantasy X - Team Fortress 2 - Unreal Tournament (all) - Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines - Persona 5 - Mirror's Edge - The Witcher 3 - Many fighting games from Street Fighter series, Tekken series, Soulcalibur series, Capcom crossovers
Any ImmSim (Dishonored series, Deus Ex series, Prey (2017 a.k.a. Typhon) etc.) both the TES and Fallout games as well as the Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, especially just anything Post-Apoc for some reason relaxes me... but TES and Fallout because mods basically are infinitly playable for me because of how much I can do with mods to/in those games.
Borderlands 1 & 2, Diablo 2 & 3, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops 1 & 2, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door, Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2, Megaman X 1-4, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Kart Wii, Banjo Kazooie & Tooie, DK 64, Starfox 64, Starfox Assult, Super Smash Bros P+, Castle Crashers, Final Fantasy 7, Chained Echoes (newer but very good RPG) are some of my all time go back to re-played games. These are definitely go back to when the current gaming land scape hasn't nothing that interests me or I'm not in the mood to learn something new.
Mine is OSRS - grew up playing RS2 and the games in a really healthy state with constant updates to keep me going while maintaining some levels of nostalgia and coziness
Definitely Spyro, classic Halo trilogy, and Spider-Man 2 on PS5. FF7 Rebirth has also been recently added to the list which I already played three times. Also playing FF16 on PC currently and I think I’ll definitely come back to this game when I have nothing new to play. You also can’t go wrong with Minecraft.
Great video mate. Always nice to remember to appreciate these incredible games. In today's chaotic gaming scene, these OGs stand out as the gems they are.
I love this sort of relaxed vidoes that you make it really takes you out of the rage and anxiety inducing content found on UA-cam these days. For me these comfort games have to be: 1-warcraft 3 Great story that made me feel sad angry happy all sorts of emotions thats a great story and add on it the amazing gameplay of RPG mixed with RTS the graphics yes I know they from 2002 but they are so comforting in my eyes I love the green grass its eye catching its beautiful the colorful design of the game mixed with some brutality is a masterpiece 2-counter strike both 1.6 and source CS is special to me its my first FPS and I hold it in high regards due to its very unique gameplay and depth I also like the setting the immersive experience of playing offline in estate being the last surviving T hiding in the room with a hostage having the speakers greatly improves the CS experience as you can hear every little step its gets your heart beating fast its tense nothing beats the CS experience to me 3-age of mythology The main menu , the music , the gameplay , the art direction oh what a lovely game with a good story that sends on an adventure around the world from the rural lands of greece to the dry and hot deserts of ancient egypt to the harsh cold north of Scandinavia to the lost people of atlantis the graphics although from 2002 give me relaxing vibes especially the water I can't describe it to you its perfection in every turn 4-sudden strike 2 Heh this is one of the first Real time tactics game ever being made in 2000 sudden strike 1 made its place in RTS games as that one realistic ww2 that nothing was like in the market at the time in 2002 ss2 dropped with some graphical improvements and a huge change of sound design that elevated the immersion of the game to 100 while the game has issues like its slow paced gameplay that feels tedious sometimes you can get around that the experience of ww2 with huge amounts of soldiers and equipment is great , today many games that built on the foundation founded by SS exists like company of heroes and men of war with advanced mechanics like infantry cover which sadly SS lacks however the sheer size of battle with its nice 2d design for me makes sudden strike my most favorite ww2 game ever whenever I feel like I want some ww2 action I hop on an ss2 game its slow nature allows for relaxing gaming session , sometimes its more tense which breaks the relaxing vibe but that's what makes it good. Thanks for reading.
GTA: San Andreas, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot and many others never fail to comfort me in the sea of modern slop. God bless emulation
My comfort game has changed over the years. Currently I’d say it’s Left 4 Dead 2 campaign. I find co-op play addictive and it’s really easy to play for 30 minutes or so before bed. There are game series that I replay every few years. Battlefield Bad Company 1 & 2, Halo 1 - 3, Dead Space 1&2, and Gear of War 1 - 3 come to mind.
Yakuza 0 to be specific has always been my favorite comfort game. There's so much you can do even after completing the main story, whether you want to karaoke, play SEGA Arcades, or just fight the yakuzas in general.
Rimworld, dota 2 and now I remembered that I have BF1. My dota2 situation is similar to your smite, I only play unrank matches and just spam 1 hero unless it got ban, I only play during the weekend and winning a single match would give me this massive satisfying feeling that no other games so far can replicate. If I lose I would just take a 10 mins break and return until I win a single match for the day.
Cod zombies for me and my friend too. We played WaW on pc from 2011 to 2018, the mod folder was 3x the size of the game lmao, we downloaded hundreds of custom maps. Then after 2018 we both got xbox and we moved on to other games. We recently got BO1, BO2, BOCW, Vanguard, BO4 etc, basically all the zombie cods on xbox, on a discount so we are playing them again. You can never get bored of cod zombies, once you love it, you love it forever.
One of my all-time comfort games is Anno 1800, the best square-based city, economy, and trade network builder game in the industry, its latest installment Anno 1800 Sold 3 million copies and has 500 mods and awesome mod support.
Pokémon Red, Blue, and Emerald, as well as Diablo 2 and occasionally Skyrim are mine. Just listening to some pieces of music, dialogues, or simply watching the intros... Always relaxing when I need to shut my own voice in my head.
This!! Unfortunately, my X1S disc drive began to play up so I haven't gamed in about a year. But, when I did, State of Decay 2, RDR2, AC Origins, Power Wash and the JRPG Haven were my comfort games past 4yrs I even found myself purchasing the Streets of Rage 1-4 set as it brought back 90s memories when times were much sweater and I'd be gaming with my older & younger brothers and many cousins, and Street Fighter 2. I Still remember how unstoppable I was at Tony Hawks 1&2... None of my friends and family could beat me.
Great video as always man. PS4 era my game was Destiny. I could always hop on and run a few Strikes. Now the 2 games I keep coming back to are Crew 2 and The First Descendant. I love just running some races or looking at my car collection. And TFD definitely scratches the Destiny itch. Being a new Dad I'm finding it better to play games I can hop on and off real quick. No Dark Souls for me haha
Football Manager is the game i go back to...a lot. Nothing beats getting your favorite tem to bankruptcy, and then getting fired. Other than that, Rocket League for peactical reasons. You can get in and out in 8 to 10 minutes, which is perfect when you need a quick fix of your comfort game. Batman Arkham(especially Knight) because the world is extremely immersive and perfect to mess around in. And finally, Fallout(either 3 or Mew Vegas) for exploration and post-apocalyptic peace game.
My favourite comfort game is Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 & 5-7. It gives me nostalgia for a world I was introduced to as a kid, dressing up as a wizard and going to the bookstore with my family to get the latest Harry Potter novel, (bonus, 4 of the books came out on my birthday.)
I don't play AoE2 nearly as much as I should, but I'm right there with you on the music. That game has my absolute favorite soundtrack of any game, ever. I regularly find myself humming the music from the opening cinematic. It's perfect. As for games. New Vegas, Skyrim (really, any ES), Minecraft, Golden Sun, and more recently, Hitman WoA Freelancer Mode. There are others, but I love these so much. Edit: somehow, I managed to forget my absolute favorite comfort game. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. I've played through that game so many times that I can finish it in under four hours. 100% souls in eight or so (mainly due to random chance.) It's a perfect game.
Currently, I don’t have a comfort game but back then it was The Sims games. I played The Sims 2 on PS2 and also on PC a lot and the Sims 3 on PC was always my go to game as well. When I played those I forgot the world around me.
Assassin’s Creed 4, Halo 1-Reach, Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, and Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Dragon Age Origins is one of my favorite RPGs but I don’t replay it often. New Vegas is on my backlog
Sven Co-Op, Midtown Madness 2, Age Of Empires 2 (The original) Counter Strike 1.6 and COD: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Curious how modern games are not in that list. I can imagine why? Oh yes… The Live-Service bs.
Portal 2, it was my first Valve game and even though I know how to complete all the puzzles, the writing and gameplay still keeps my going on it.There's also Far Cry New Dawn, which I've been playing a lot lately and have really been enjoying it. It might be the first game I seriously 100%. And, of course, Minecraft. There are few things more enjoyable than sitting down, booting up MC, and just chilling for the night, mining, fighting monsters, or building a masterpiece. There's also a mobile game called Smash Hit that I've played for years. I don't know how to describe it with justice, so just look it up if you wanna know more about it, but it has a great soundtrack.
My buddies and I will only be Diamond in RL. But it is the one game we have a couple nights devoted to when the family is asleep and work is done. 8 years of it and it is still the most fun I have had in a game.
A good of friend mine who I used to play a lot of Zombies with IRL came over just to chill and we had the genius idea to play some good old BO2 Zombies. We played for HOURS on Mob of the Dead lol.
Really interesting video and list, has opened me to a few games I might buy in the near future. Enlisted is like a free version of Battlefield I'm enjoying like crazy lately with friends. It's not as dynamic as Battlefield but it often has epic immersive matches Rocket League was my comfort game but I got so addicted I had to uninstall it earlier this year, but an absolute great pick Team Fortress 2 is by far my favorite game and one that I will get back to every time. I have it on the side right now, but it's the perfect FPS game for me CS:GO used to be THE game, but with CS2 the momentum has shifted and I play it much less Battlefront II used to be a comfort game until I realized they weren't going to add any more content to the game, but one that looks, feels, and plays beautifully
I have comfort games but I guess I didnt really have a name to call them, so "Comfort games" makes a lot of sense. something to just return to to ease the mind. Great vid brother you got a sub
A few months ago I would've said Skyrim since it's cozy, but now I discovered that Hades gives that kick that Sheep Raider used to give me back when I was 5.
Mine is the Brutal Doom Platinum 2.0 mod. Often i just generate a map for it with Obsidian, put on some White bat audio music and i ALWAYS have a good time.
Fromsoft games, Skyrim, CoD campaigns and zombies, original Halo Wars, Vampire Survivors, Against the Storm, maybe a few older Zelda titles and a few other games. Really depends, but there's always a nice time to unwind playing a comfort game
Destiny, League of Legends, Fallout(s) 3 and New Vegas, Oblivion, Final Fantasy 7 & 8, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Hot Wheels Turbo Racing, Need For Speed, and Pokémon Crystal were my favorite games to escape in. I'm playing Metaphor Refantazio currently. And it is Great. Cyberpunk is also great but I haven't played 2.0 with the dlc.
Alan Wake 1. I don't know. I like story focussed game that go beyond themselves. Always installed and ready to launch for a session in whatever chapter I want
@@L33C333 Yeah, Barry not having a single line of dialogue and only texts irked me something fierce, even more because of his connection as the Old gods of Asgard manager
My comfort games are SM64, Resident Evil 4, Arms, Tetris and Power Wash Simulator. A 3D platformer, an action horror title, a casual fighting game, a classic and a freaking simulator are my most played comfort games. 😅
Original Halo Trilogy, Hearts of Iron 4, Stellaris, Star Wars Battlefront (2004/2005 classic games), the Hobbit (2003), Kerbal Space Program, Anno, Subnautica. I could probably list about 20 more games that I would also go back and enjoy but these are the top ones.
For me, it was Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise last year i got fire my job and i nearly depressed and full of crap My first Monster hunter was world i was so addictive to gameplay sound song and story and weapon crafting itself Hunting monster feel so comfort to me i got rid my depression.
I play a lot of older games. Deus Ex, the Thief trilogy, Splinter Cell, all 6 of them.Fallouts, Commandos 2, but the one game i have never stopped playing is the 1999's Jagged Alliance 2, now even better with the 1.13 mods :)
For me it kind of depends on how bad my medical condition is that day. When just looking to relax I play either Raft or Cyberpunk 2077, in 2077 I just cruise around and immerse myself in the world. I sometimes also play 7 Days to Die, The Long Dark and Kenshi, but those games can be stressful/irritating so I cant always play them. Edit: or i just spend hours fishing in Nier Replicant.
Halo MCC and surprisenlgy, No Man's Sky. No man sky felt almost stress free for the first time playing. While MCC was auto-pilot gameplay after playing since 2001 release. Good experiences.
I have quite a few comfort games, some even being recent Skyrim Guild Wars 2 Dragons Dogma 2 Battlefield 2042 (vs ai) Diablo 4 I come back to these pretty often. Diablo 4 is probably the most "turn your brain off" game for me. I play a minion necromancer so the minions do a lot of the heavy lifting for me. I do have other games for comfort but these are the ones i find myself coming back to recently
Total War: Shogun 2 I have played for hundreds of hours and I started another run just yesterday. I love the music and atmosphere. And, while I wanted to play another game (that I haven't played before), it is like you said: I wasn't in the mood to learn new mechanics or a new progression system. For me it's dumb fun.
Honestly one of my biggest comfort games are Dying Light 1 and 2. I can just shut my brain off, parkour around and brutalize zombies. I usually ignore the quests and just try and see what fun parkour moves/routes I can pull off.
1. Stalker series. I'm from middle-eastern Europe (Poland, to be precise), so the concrete, brutalistic cities and settlements from this games just looks familiar, definitely more than american suburbs. Mix it with autumn colors, melancholic vibe, semi-realistic gunplay and unforgiving AI and you'll have one of the most climatic games ever created. I just love it, despite huge amount of bugs. 2. Zoo tycoon 1 with add-ons. I love animals, especiali extinct and marine ones. And In this game i can fullfill my childhood dream about owning a zoo. Plus, the game have perfect difficult level. I'ts not too hard, but you can loose if you are too careless.
Balatro has quickly become a comfort game for me. It's one of the few games where I have to actively force myself to play other games lest balatro consume all my time.
I have a few. But mass effect and Bloodborne have been mine lately. Last year it was sf2/3rd strike and arena mode in smite as well. Smite just pisses me off nowadays though. Oh and Summoner for the ps2 as well, its great fun.
It used to be Pokemon for me until I got sick of random crits and misses. Now I play Monster Hunter (4U, GU/XX, World, Rise... hopefully Wilds as well if it doesn't suck) and continually try to indoctrinate more of my friends into playing.
With that definition, my comfort game would have to be "Masters of Olympus." If I could replay it, "Super Mario Galaxy" would be another, and "Super Mario Bros Wonder" is slowly becoming my new favorite.
I actually got around 240 single player games I consider comfort games and life-time replayable. Games spanning since the PS1 days. For the PS5, Series X/360 and a Backwards compatible PS3 that includes PS2/PS1. That's why I am never bothered with delays or dry seasons with no new games. With what I have now, I feel like I could spend the rest of my life playing and replaying these games in a repetitive 15-year cycle and never once get bored.
I just realized, that I don’t have any comfort games. Most games I kept coming back to are on old consoles that I don’t own any more. I’m still looking for a good rogue-lite I can play over and over in shorter bursts..
Skate 3 is the best comfort game ever. I'm still finding out about subtle design choices they implemented 14 years after the game came out. Infinite replay ability. Find a new spot, make your own spot, learn every trick that they have to offer
@@LockederBoss1 no I played both the OG re1 and re2 tho I want to play re1 remake as soon as possible re1 wasn't that great of a game really but I heard the remake is amazing

My biggest comfort game is honestly Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a fun game with a great story that always makes me smile, cry, and just generally remind me why I love video games
It was free on the Playstation store and I had a blast. I was surprised how good the story was and that story .
The last fight when that song kicks in... I think that's one of the hypest videogame moments i've ever witnessed
I really need to check it out. Got it for free when purchasing a gaming laptop a few years ago but never tried it

This game will always have a special place in my heart. Loved the story and the characters. Hopefully, we get to see a bully 2 in the future, but we'll see

Half-Life 2; Prince of Persia Sands and Warrior; AC Brotherhood; Shadow of Mordor; Halo 1,2,3 and Reach; and Hellpoint

@@anon_y_mousse yeah I wish I got into final fantasy sooner very cool games
Love this video!! Now we need a video about all the other classics like you mentioned at the end!
Burnout 3,God of war (greek saga), Devil may cry 3,4,5 and POP triology are my comfort games
I love these game
Used to be Destiny 2, but since I quit it, it has been The first decendant, Palworld, and Warframe I keep juggling between after coming home from work. Been playing Warframe alongside Destiny for a long time and can really recommend it for people who are looking for a long game with tons of content after you unlock the initial starmap mission.
This one is a hidden gem cause no one ever brings it up but Battle Realms. A fairly simple RTS game inspired by martial arts movies and oriental mythology that I played to death as a kid in an internet cafe back when I lived in the Philippines. My low IQ brain still can't comprehend other RTS games that have more complex mechanics so I always default to this game when I just wanna pass the time
Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Prince of Persia 1 and 2, Classic World of Warcraft, AC Ezio trilogy.😢
I love going back to older games I used to play like Left 4 Dead 2, Halo (all except Infinite, and 4), Destiny 1 (especially when D2 is depressing to even open), some older COD games like MW 2 and 3, BO2 and BO3, and some platformers like Mario or even Rayman
These are just games I can start playing and have a good time, even if it's been awhile
I have a super odd one. Mine is Cyberpunk 2077, just running around in night city, driving, doing whatever little job I end up finding and listening to some music. Nothing relaxes me like that, we’ll that and vampire survivors.
Yes
Pokemon XD, Pokemon Emerald, Twilight Princess, Madden 06 and NCAA 06 all come to mind. I grew up playing those games, so it's always good to replay them
These are the games that I find most comfortable to get back into, pretty much my favorite games overall:
- Resident Evil 1 to 5 (the remakes)
- Diablo 2
- Monster Hunter World and Rise
- The Batman Arkham Series
- Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood
- Warcraft 3
- Starcraft 2
- Dragon's Dogma
- Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time trilogy
- Star Wars KOTOR 1 and 2, Jedi Academy and Battlefront 2
- Halo 1 to Reach
- NFS Underground 1, 2, Most Wanted
- Nioh 2
- Devil May Cry 3 to 5
- GTA 3 to 5
- C&C Red Alert 2 and 3
- Half-Life 1 and 2
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Mass Effect trilogy
- Kingdoms of Amalur
- Counter-Strike 1.6
- Final Fantasy X
- Team Fortress 2
- Unreal Tournament (all)
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
- Persona 5
- Mirror's Edge
- The Witcher 3
- Many fighting games from Street Fighter series, Tekken series, Soulcalibur series, Capcom crossovers
- Cities Skylines (the first one)
- Shadow of War
- Minecraft
- Left 4 Dead 2
- No Mans Sky
For me these comfort games have to be:
1-warcraft 3
Great story that made me feel sad angry happy all sorts of emotions thats a great story and add on it the amazing gameplay of RPG mixed with RTS the graphics yes I know they from 2002 but they are so comforting in my eyes I love the green grass its eye catching its beautiful the colorful design of the game mixed with some brutality is a masterpiece
2-counter strike both 1.6 and source
CS is special to me its my first FPS and I hold it in high regards due to its very unique gameplay and depth I also like the setting the immersive experience of playing offline in estate being the last surviving T hiding in the room with a hostage having the speakers greatly improves the CS experience as you can hear every little step its gets your heart beating fast its tense nothing beats the CS experience to me
3-age of mythology
The main menu , the music , the gameplay , the art direction oh what a lovely game with a good story that sends on an adventure around the world from the rural lands of greece to the dry and hot deserts of ancient egypt to the harsh cold north of Scandinavia to the lost people of atlantis the graphics although from 2002 give me relaxing vibes especially the water I can't describe it to you its perfection in every turn
4-sudden strike 2
Heh this is one of the first Real time tactics game ever being made in 2000 sudden strike 1 made its place in RTS games as that one realistic ww2 that nothing was like in the market at the time in 2002 ss2 dropped with some graphical improvements and a huge change of sound design that elevated the immersion of the game to 100 while the game has issues like its slow paced gameplay that feels tedious sometimes you can get around that the experience of ww2 with huge amounts of soldiers and equipment is great , today many games that built on the foundation founded by SS exists like company of heroes and men of war with advanced mechanics like infantry cover which sadly SS lacks however the sheer size of battle with its nice 2d design for me makes sudden strike my most favorite ww2 game ever whenever I feel like I want some ww2 action I hop on an ss2 game its slow nature allows for relaxing gaming session , sometimes its more tense which breaks the relaxing vibe but that's what makes it good.
Thanks for reading.
GTA: San Andreas, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot and many others never fail to comfort me in the sea of modern slop.
God bless emulation
Pokémon gens 3-4
Bully by rockstar
Skyrim….
We all have them
My comfort game has changed over the years.
Currently I’d say it’s Left 4 Dead 2 campaign. I find co-op play addictive and it’s really easy to play for 30
minutes or so before bed.
Recently getting back into your videos used to watch some of them a while ago im glad I'm doing so again < 3
But, when I did, State of Decay 2, RDR2, AC Origins, Power Wash and the JRPG Haven were my comfort games past 4yrs
I even found myself purchasing the Streets of Rage 1-4 set as it brought back 90s memories when times were much sweater and I'd be gaming with my older & younger brothers and many cousins, and Street Fighter 2.
No Dark Souls for me haha
rayman legends and origins gotta be some of my top comfort games, have som great memories playing them at Christmas time
Destiny 1 will always be my number 1, death stranding, pokemon Y, returnal and minecraft
Never played 1, but destiny 2 has always been my comfort game so I can imagine how comforting 1 is
Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age.
I can always return to these two games and enjoy a fresh playthrough.
Grim Dawn has become my comfort game. Feels like solo questing in an MMO.
Ratchet and Clank (2002) is my comfort game!
Animal Crossing and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon on my old DS will always be my comfort games.
The early Gran Turismo games on PS1 and PS2 I love coming back to and do a few races.
1.6 oh man the memories of death matches online mastering the art of headshots using ak47 or playing estate man estate was a cool map
It's funny you bring this up because I'm confident that this was the kind of game helldivers was going to be (and hopefully can still be)
It already is for me
I still love playing the game even 6 months later
Baldur’s Gate 3
The Outer Worlds
Shadow of War
Deathloop
Need for Speed Rivals
My comfort games 😁
Really interesting video and list, has opened me to a few games I might buy in the near future.
Enlisted is like a free version of Battlefield I'm enjoying like crazy lately with friends. It's not as dynamic as Battlefield but it often has epic immersive matches
Rocket League was my comfort game but I got so addicted I had to uninstall it earlier this year, but an absolute great pick
Team Fortress 2 is by far my favorite game and one that I will get back to every time. I have it on the side right now, but it's the perfect FPS game for me
CS:GO used to be THE game, but with CS2 the momentum has shifted and I play it much less
Battlefront II used to be a comfort game until I realized they weren't going to add any more content to the game, but one that looks, feels, and plays beautifully
Tetris/Doctor Mario, as tense as they can get help me unwind. Also I really got into Dave the Diver recently, the mood and atmosphere are very chill
more uploads has been amazing!
Hell yeah good to see another Alan Wake fan here, Alan Wake and his main man Barry
@@L33C333 Yeah, Barry not having a single line of dialogue and only texts irked me something fierce, even more because of his connection as the Old gods of Asgard manager
mine is def cyberounk.. i lover getting immersed in that world and lore. i loveeee it
My comfort games are SM64, Resident Evil 4, Arms, Tetris and Power Wash Simulator.
I’m an indie-lover and I think Hades is quickly becoming my new comfort game.
I have quite a few comfort games, some even being recent
Skyrim
Guild Wars 2
Dragons Dogma 2
Battlefield 2042 (vs ai)
Diablo 4
I come back to these pretty often. Diablo 4 is probably the most "turn your brain off" game for me. I play a minion necromancer so the minions do a lot of the heavy lifting for me. I do have other games for comfort but these are the ones i find myself coming back to recently
It used to be Spider-Man 2 on the PS2 for me. Always came back to that game.
Total War: Shogun 2
I have played for hundreds of hours and I started another run just yesterday.
AC:Odyssey was my comfort game i loved getting off work & just diving into that ancient Greek vast open world.
I
It used to be Pokemon for me until I got sick of random crits and misses.
Warcraft 3 is my all time favourite game snd i return to it all the time
Can you even play the original anymore? I thought Blizzard forced people to install Reforged.
Nothing is as easy to jump into as a GTA game. Unconplicated fun for 5 minutes or immersion for 10 hours.
Skate 3 is the best comfort game ever. I'm still finding out about subtle design choices they implemented 14 years after the game came out. Infinite replay ability. Find a new spot, make your own spot, learn every trick that they have to offer
Metal Gear Solid 1+2
Resident Evil 1+2
Command&Conquer 1 to Tiberium Wars
Fallout 3+4 & New Vegas
AC Black Flag
RE1? Remake or original? Yeah RE2 is pretty freaking good Im still horrified of lickers...
@@pandaprewmaster325 I play both of them. And RE2 too. The Original and the Remake. Are younplaying the Remakes ?
@@LockederBoss1 no I played both the OG re1 and re2 tho I want to play re1 remake as soon as possible re1 wasn't that great of a game really but I heard the remake is amazing
Damn ur literally me
'Ready or Not' is the one I can't stop playing.
My comfort games are Trepang², World in Conflict, and the Aliens vs Predator shooters
For me these would be: To The Moon, Gears of War 3, Outriders, Pokémon Gen 1/2 any Forza game. They always feel like home
Halo 1,2,3,ODST & Reach
Skyrim
The Witcher 3
Half Life 2/ep1&2
Dark Souls 1 & 3, Bloodborne
