    Nice man. I inherited my grandpa’s 1976 in the same colour, but with a beige interior. Black exterior is the best look for this car imo, especially driving around at night, it just looks so sleek and badass... Looking forward to seeing yours restored

    Back in 03 a friend bought a white one for 400 bucks. It had the next generation swap already done. It was a super fun car it ripped around the shitty new england roads we had, very well. It was just fun to drive. Wasn't nice, wasn't fast but it would feel fast, it rev well, bark gears. Possibly one of the best beaters we had come across. I would love a decent shape one today. Great history car too. Paved the way for Toyota as a whole but certainly so in the sports car sense of things.

    Glad to see ya found stock wheels for it! Mine had 8-track w/factory radio and I added 40W amp/EQ along w/6-1/2” Pioneers in back, 4” Jenson coaxials into the foot wells! Copper/rust color w/tan interior. This was in 1979… traded it for a Buick Regal Limited w/4.9L and T-Tops! Enjoy!!!

    Dude! Why did you get rid of the aftermarket rims it had?? In high school, I had one exactly like this one (louvers and all), but I had replaced the wheels with a Supra set and the steering wheel with an aftermarket one. Nice stereo to go with it too. Best car I had as a teenager! I'd own one all over again in a flash! 😍

    I had one of those it was silver, I had headers and high performance cam on it.
    If it is a 5 speed. The clutch master cylinders go bad . I went thru 5 of them in 250k miles I had the car. In DOM 7/1977 onwards they changed the design of it and used the improved 1978 design.

    did you increase the octane rating of your gas? my weber had issues till i increased to premium. also good to see another liftback here in florida.

    • @Fisherman1827
      @Fisherman1827  4 роки тому +1

      blackjack777 no it’s still on regular but that’s a good idea I’ll try that when it’s time to tune it. What changed when you switched to premium?

    • @blackjack77ification
      @blackjack77ification 4 роки тому

      Before I'd drive it for a bit then go to shut it off and it would diesel. I'd run the timing light.. adjust the weber perfectly but it would keep doing it. Also it idled about 1400 when it should've been like 700 - 900. Changing the gas fixed both.
