Great advice! Another solution for Honda Civics: just hold the audio power button until the message asking to “reboot” comes on the screen and click yes. The screen will go dark for a min or two and then take another min or two to restart. Solved my apple car play issue without having to do a complete factory reset (my issue was that it wouldn’t connect to my phone even though the cable was charging my phone). Hope this helps others.

My 2019 Accord wouldn't recognize two iPhones. I called Honda Support and the rep walked me through a system reset. Very similar to this video, except I had to enter a code to enable the radio. The rep was able to give me the code, which I wrote down for the future.

But this video helped me I reset the system and now I’m good to go hope it doesn’t happen again but if it does I know what to do thanks again
Yesenia Cruz no I am using a Walmart cable. Nope you don’t have to I just did it to test the back up camera to see if something else got fixed. But this will fix your apple CarPlay issues and android auto.

Just in case there are others out there that didn’t get this to work. Try deleting your CarPlay info on your iPhone and then that can help. I reset to factory settings the car and didn’t work, turns out the iPhone was the one with the problem.

my cable is fine, i've used several & that isn't the issue. it just sounds so static-like after a few songs. when i unplug it & plug it back in, it works flawlessly again. starting to think its the wiring on the inside of the unit or my speakers, bc bluetooth works fine with no issue.

Mine is finally fixed..I had been using two aftermarket iPhone cords wjtb no issues for months..it got to where both of them worked hit or Miss and then eventually not at all…I had taken control board out the boards plug into and everything to inspect wjtb no luck….just now I was like fuxk it and cleaned the end of cord that goes into phone with some spit and elbow grease and it works now..only takes a tiny spec of dirt evidently fly..keep in mind the charger function was working but what tiny debris I couldn’t see was keeping CarPlay from working

my carplay would randomly stutter which is really annoying. I'm guessing it has something to do with the carlinkit mini wireless carplay kit since the issue happens after I tried it on my car.
I had trouble with the same thing. I own a 2019 Santa Fe HUndai and have an iphone. NO volume with autoplay when using GPS . All I did was turn up the volume (while the voice was engaged speaking) then the volume on the GPS voice went right up. no problem.
