Push button transmission tip: as soon as the car starts put it on reverse and wait untill you see the reverse camera on and then put it on neutral and that should do the trick. You only have to do the reverse part fast and then you can put it on neutral once you see the rear camera on the screen, that's what I did on my 21 touring
This is insane! I have an Accord EX 2019 and it had 1,127 hours of uptime! I ve had connectivity issues that I had to unplug and plug again thru the USB cable in order to connect successfully... now that I did this trick to reset the pc of the car, boom! Magic. It connects super quick and even feel the screen faster. Thank you man!
Hi Jon, I just wanted to follow up my last comment. I watched your video yesterday and it was great. I got my new Accord 2 months ago and have been enjoying Apple CarPlay. All of a sudden, today it stopped working. Said it couldn't initialize it. It was working fine. Well, I tried everything with the phone, reboot, shut off CarPlay in the phone and started it again. Nothing worked. Well, I remembered your tip and tried it and it worked on the first try! It fixed CarPlay. I was so excited. I had visions of having to go to Honda Service etc... Well, you saved me a trip. Just wanted to thank you again, the tip came in really handy.
I was hesitant to even google my question because I knew all I would get were obvious solutions I’ve already tried. Not only does my phone automatically connect immediately now but it may have even fixed the frozen screen/ghost button pressing problem I’ve been having. I took it to the shop for this issue and they ordered a new “radio” but it still hasn’t come in. I may not even need it now! My car was up to 3362 hours. Back at 0 now! Thank you!
I have a 2022 and it rebooted itself after watching this. It went back to zero and everything. I don't know what kind of voodoo was that but it did rebooted by itself.
OMG!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!! All of a sudden my USB cord wouldn't connect my phone to Android Auto. I thought it was my USB cord so I ordered another one from Google. When that wouldn't work, I was so frustrated, I wanted to cry. So I searched and I searched until I found your video... I tried your method and it worked on the 3rd time. Thank you so much.
In the 2019 and newer versions without the volume knob, you can just hold the audio on off button for about five seconds and you’ll get a prompt that says “do you want to reboot?” The serves the same function and will also solve most problems
Wow this fixed my Bluetooth issues. It keep switching between phone and bluetooth so nobody could hear anything on either side of the call. The up time was at nearly 463 hours. Did the reset and calls are fine now. On a 2018 Touring, thanks a lot!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS!!! My wireless Apple Carplay wouldn’t recognize that my phone was connected to it, so I “forgot the network,” and then, my phone was no longer detecting my car’s WiFi network. I did these steps a few times, before it finally worked, and then, my Wireless Apple CarPlay instantly connected to my phone. I appreciate you taking the time to make this quick video.
Thank you! I went a month without my android auto, even tried factory reset and that didn't fix it, took me a couple tries but everything is working as it should again
I had almost 2000 hours! Took me about 6 or 7 tries with push button transmission selectors but ultimately got it. Hoping this fixes my connectivity issues!
Thanks, Honda Jon! My USB loses connectivity intermittently. I assumed it was a cell tower handoff issue, but I will give your solution a whirl. Have taken the car to the dealer 2x without luck. This problem is maddening. Losing calls mid-conversation without warning is the worst. Was able to reboot on first try. Fingers crossed this works. Thanks again!!
I was so frustrated when my Apple CarPlay wouldn’t work all of sudden today & restarted my iPhone multiple times with no success. Then I followed your video steps & worked!! Thank you
I’ve been driving around for 3 days with a frozen screen. I got it on the third time and it pulled my radio out of “installing 100%” screen. Thanks a lot.
It worked!! Thank you so much. I had the 2016 Honda and all I had to do was hold the power button for 10 seconds which was easier but the 2019 you have to follow his directions. I’m telling you it worked. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! Took my 4 day old car to the dealer over bluetooth problems with my android phone and they pointed to rebooting the infotainment center and I came across this vid. Fixed my problems.
Thank you for this, bro. I got this adapter to fit my iPhone 16 pro Max so that I could use CarPlay with my 2018 Honda accord and I think the adapter bugged out my usb port so it wouldn’t detect or even charge my iPhone. I swapped to my original cord and it wasn’t working either. I tried this method, and it fixed it. Appreciate you.
Yessss!! THIS WORKED!!!! Maybe 3rd times a charm? It worked the third time I did it! But I also made a smoother transition THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! DONT FORGET TO THUMBS UP IF IT WORKED!!
How did you even figure out the sequence to clear the status hours? My Apple CarPlay literally disappeared earlier today and I was losing my mind trying to figure out why…found this video and tried it as my 22’ Accord Touring was showing 651 hrs. and as soon as it reset to “0” CarPlay connected immediately. Fingers crossed this is a permanent fix. Thank you very much!
I have a 2019 Honda Accord and my phone has connected fine however I gotta HOTT CD player which supposedly connects to Bluetooth but I can’t figure out how to do it. The only thing that comes up is my phone. Any suggestions?
@@HondaJon well, I got into settings, and I actually was able to pair the device for a very short time and then it blacked out. I tried to pair again probably 10 times and it would not accept it so I sent the unit back. I really was hoping I could play my CDs in the car. Thank you for all the help you give us though.
@@HondaJon well, they were several UA-cam videos that seem to make them functional but the reality was, they were not. I don’t know where to go from here, except that I probably won’t be able to find one.
You are a savior. I had this issue where the dashboard display suddenly stopped working with audio and phone, whenever I press them the screen goes blank. With the above reboot it started working again. Thank you.
FINALLY! Thank you. I looked in forums and watched a bunch of UA-cam videos. I tried all the normal things but it was this one weird gearshift trick that fixed CarPlay on my 2022 Accord. I was this close to getting a wrench and just disconnecting the battery.
Wish I would’ve came across this last night when doing a 3 hour drive and no car play working 😭 thank you so much for this quick fix. Got it on the second try
my CarPlay in my Honda accord was bugging for a while it kept disconnecting from my phone and I thought it was my cable or usb port that weren’t working but I tried this method and now its working without disconnecting. thank you!!
Just did this on my 21 Accord Hybrid EXL, I have the push button drive reverse etc. I was able to reset it, thanks for the info, now I will let you know if it works.
Wow, thanks for this valuable tip. Going to try this as I am getting missing icons on my readout.. Contacts, and recent calls don't come up anymore.. I hope this works.. Thanks so much.. Keeping my fingers crossed.. as I need my contacts daily... Thanks again for sharing this..
Dang man I’ve been frustrated after my brother fiddled with it and connected his phone and then mine would not let me pair at all😢😢😢😢😢. But in like 5min of watching your video and trying it a couple times it paired up right away!!!! Thanks man you are a life saver🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊
It worked! My Android auto stopped working for about 3 months now and all of this time I thought it was the cord. The dealership said there was nothing wrong with it. Why couldn't they think to reset the computer. Smh! Thanks so much!
ive had my brand new honda accord 2020 for 2 months now and my BT calls stopped working out of the blue. with the car being push start it was hard to follow this process bc the car turns on so quick. what worked was: hit home, settings, system, factory data reset=the uptime will be cleared. it will prompt u to hold the radio power button for a few seconds and it will beep when done.... my calls are working just fine now 🙌🏼 idk if this happened bc my uptime was at 1700hrs, but idk i feel that for a brand new 2020 car i shouldn’t have to be doing this... wonder how often i’m going to have to reboot it? but oh well i’m set for now.

If you follow these steps, just go from Reverse, to neutral, then park and it resets every time. Would be curious to see if the new radio update fixes these issues.
Cool fix. Got it on the second try. My head unit would play my iPod, but it kept saying "Loading" with the spinning circle on the screen. This fixed it. Thx, dude!
Thanks ! My update had froze and I couldn't clear out out of it, so I tried your method and got the engine start up on 2nd try and got update installed.. I smashed that like button 4 ya! :) Saved me a trip to dealership!
