im pretty sure that is why Fl4k was revealed last bc of his pets ai being worked on for so long
yeah the master skill tree looks to make the pet very strong. its going to get even better with some skills in the stalker tree too. i cant wait :)

With how all characters grunt or make other noises when jumping and landing, I think it would be funny if Fl4k did the same but occasionally goes “and other effort noises” or just says grunt

Anyone else notice that it seems like skill mods don't need you to put points in those skills anymore?
This could be amazing for build variety.
Only problem is that theyre likely stsrting the game off at msx lvl 50 again. Would honestly love yo see it start at 60 for a change instead of having to wait for 5 or 6 months after relesse for it to increase.

@@Sigel77 No you cant? the augments help only a specific skill, you can't use the rakks one for the fade away skill for example, you have to have the same skill for the augments.
@Billy Backwoods Elaborate? My point is still true. the only exception is Amara who's augments seem to be universal.

The skag build looks the most OP but the real star of the show was that launcher. WOW
You've gotta keep in mind this is only mid-game with only so many skill points to play around with. No one build is really showing dominance yet, till we can get our hands on it ourselves.
The weapons in this game..... so fucking good. Couple more days and I can finally play this game. So hyped.

I’m definitely going to do a buffed pet build for him where I go all the way down the stalker tree to get the final skill that buffs pets when using an action skill, then going down the master tree and using the gamma pet teleport ability to get a maximum boosted pet!!!!
Wow, as someone who enjoys the running and gunning jumpy dodgey modern fps gameplay types a lot instead of the hiding/dying gamrplay of previous Borderlands games this video makes me quite happy.
God the locations look so dense and packed. I love it

If anyone has been a long time fan of borderlands, playing the new class is obviously the thing to do, as someone who mains sirens I'm still trying him out first because who doesn't like pets? Besides his crit/fade away build is going to be insane then take into consideration Jacob's ricochet on crits with the two fang skill. That's just a little example of the possibilities. 😜

Can some please explain the damage increasing skills, specifically fl4k's hidden machine and the power inside. Do they add this damage to every bullet shot (so for instance a 13 damage AR does 43 with Hidden Machine) ?
Hey @Arekkz Gaming, what would u say about this game for a guy who hasnt played any of the other games?
Should i play the 1st or 2nd before the 3rd launches or is this a game any1 can just jump in to? ( exept for the story ofc )
If you dont care about the story then you'll be fine, but if you do care about the story you'll need to play the other 4 and all the DLC
If anything play the second one since that ones still good and still holds up well
If you dont have enough time, just play the borderlands2 and it last dlc (commander lilith) no need to play the other dlc, i dont recommend the first borderlands cuz of the slow feel gameplay compare to the 2nd imo
For the FULL experience, play the previous 3 games. Borderlands, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, and Borderlands 2. I always recommend doing this when going into a new entry so you arent lost. You can get all 3 for about $60 usd right now because they re-released the GOTY version of BL1 for $30, Borderlands-the handsome collection has pre-sequel/BL2 in it for like $20. Its up to you though of course
Either play it because Borderlands 2 is still a masterpiece of gaming or watch one of the many story recap videos on youtube. I like oboeshoesgaming's story recaps, he did Tales from the Borderlands (the Telltale game) earlier today).

Didnt gaiges backstory say that the design of deathtrap was intended for security robots or something like that? Because those legless security robots that we've seen on promethea kinda remind me of a smaller less beefy version of dethtrap
They confirmed Gaige isn't even in the game (they didn't say anything about DLC either way though)

From your gameplay do you think the pets will be viable in the endgame? The damage of the pets seems pretty low from what has been shown so far!
They scale with fl4ks level I would assume dealing a percentage ammount of damage rather than numerical
Its low cause theyre not specced for pets most of the time. Most people are using the invisibility. If You're not specced for them then i feel like the pets are just a distraction for the enemies. They also knock enemies down
he was using the base, un upgraded jabber in all of his footage. two of the jabber upgrades offer a shotgun and knock back melee weapon or an smg and a rocket launcher when told to target a specific enemy. maxing that tree also allows the jabber to use your own weapon. potentially giving some considerable damage. haven't really seen how the skag and spider ant can scale as most of those guys were just various buffs and scaling skills with no clear way to see how effective they would be. i would guess that the jabber is probably going to be your damage pet and the other being utility, while showing footage of a jabber with no upgrades and no endgame build. so there's that to consider.
@@steffanhymer1285 Where do you see a skill for jabber to mirror your weapon? It's not the final perk which just increases damage- unless that's either a hidden benefit, or changed since they posted the customizable trees? I don't see it anywhere else.
steffan hymer there’s absolutely no skill that gives the Jabber a copy of your weapon.
I'm not sure from watching this, but are Fl4k's pets always present on the field, or are they summoned/cast like active skills?
You might want to check out the skill calculators. They clear up a lot of things
You pick 1 pet and its always there unless it's dead. You can revive it( just like a player) but if you manage to not revive it, it dies and its like a 60 second respawn.

I feel like I spend all my fights just swapping out shit weapons trying to find something effective in fights but usually just end up disappointed, dead and pissed that all my guns do nothing while I’m moving like I’m knee deep in snow. Is this how boarderlands is supposed to be?
I think he is gonna be my first character . I don't like to play with pets usually but since i used to play Siren a lot in the previous borderlands, i want to see different gameplay now . Moreover, Amara looks focused a lot in melee damage . This is not my cup of tea .

You don’t have to use the pets with any specific tree, they’re interchangeable
Does anybody know if you will be able to get big hits like you can in end game bl2? Like hitting 100K+?
Dunno but it seems like they kept the number smaller at least for health and shields and high levels

Near the beginning of the video I was thinking, "Wow, that Dahl rifle is doing decent damage!" Then I noticed it was a sniper rifle.... Ugh...
How long does it take for your pet to respawning after it dies or you switch them?
Looks like 60 seconds
Switching is 1-2 seconds if the previous pet was alive. Otherwise the respawn timer is 60 seconds by default. Using the Gamma Burst action skill can instantly rez a fallen pet, but it doubles the cooldown time for that usage of Gamma Burst.
Which is the best pet?
I was initially torn between moze, zane, and Fl4k and thought that I had settled on Zane, had made a nice build for him and everything. Now? I'm not sure. I wish Borderlands did like Destiny and let you make a new character at the good cap when the dlc drops. I definitely want to play all 3, but dont have the time to run through the game 3 times.
The game's story is the content though. It's not like Warframe where you farm missions you've played before for mods and crafting parts (I barely played destiny 2 after they have it away for free on PC, so I can't make a comparison there). Or are you asking to be able to start a character on new game+ ?
@@ivan134 I meant exactly what I said. When new dlc drops the level cap is increased. I want to be able to make a character at the previous level cap, just like destiny. That way I wont be so invested in one character that it would be punitive to try another because as I a said, I've got legit interest in 3 characters, but so not have the time nor the desire to run through the base game 3 times. I'd take a new game plus as well with the ability to make a new character at lvl 50 as well.
@@davidsimmons4731 They did that in BL2 with the release of the Captain Lilith DLC, so who knows? They may continue that in BL3.
Edit: It only went up to 30, effectively entirely skipping 1 of the 3 necessary playthroughs to reach level cap. But still.

I mean, a lot of borderlands games is the progression itself... that said also if it's anything like bl2/1 you could also just cheat yourself to a given level if you really wanted.

Looks like they don't have Nvidia Physics technology in the game anymore with all those extra particle effects.
Yea that was awesome in bl2! I had just built my first computer when BL2 was released and I remember thats why I bought an nvidia graphics card witch came with the game.
The PhysX system is dead, a lot of games are switching to their own proprietary physics effects nowadays - hopefully there'll be some option for particle effects in BL3...

@@JKgyaru6969 no. imagine 4 Fl4ks playing together. 4 players, 3 pets each. thats 16 player characters and pets all taking space in the game and interacting with the enemy. completely throwing out how bad that might bog down the games processing, imagine how difficult it would be to balance a game around the possibility of players just running a massive horde through the game? how could you justify playing other characters in multiplayer when you could just swarm everything down? nah, one pet only.

What's erdian used for in the game? Cause u can now buy ammo upgardes ect. With money now
It's used for cosmetics now.
You can use it to buy cosmetics and also gear with class bonuses, for example guns that affect cooldown rate etc.
Cosmetics and guns with class bonuses for specific characters and/or all classes. E.g. something broad like doubling damage after using your action skill for a short time or something more specific like further increasing critical damage when using FL4K's Fade Away.
In addition to what was mentioned already there's also an Eridium slot machine on Sanctuary. I dunno what the prizes are for it, but they need to be amazing given the cost...

That's a pity, I thought the rakks would come out and actually stay around for a while attacking enemies--not that they would simply be a projectile that flies out, hits, then boomerangs back to you and disappears. On the other hand, gamma burst and the skagg evolutions look more badass than I thought.

The pets have DEFAULT NAMES until you change them at a New-U Station. The Jabber is Meat Thief, the Skag is Mr. Chew, and the Spiderant is Broodless.

As someone who enjoyed a more melee and close range style with Zer0 in BL2. Do u think I could make a similar style using Fl4k? They're easily the most appealing hunter to me to start with in BL3

is it me or does the frenzy skill seem really weak. The stacks don't last that long and your pet has a hard time getting them up, i haven't even seen the pet able to get it to 9 in other videos.

How was the dakka turret on Iron Bear? Damage, accuracy, etc?
I have a feeling I am not going to like Maliwan in this game, love Maliwan smg's in BL2 but losing out on automatic fire for a charged guaranteed status shot just does not look appealing to me. (correct me if I am wrong about having no automatic fire for all Maliwan BL3 guns)

Dakka turret footage has looked very underwhelming. The gun sways as iron bear walks so if iron bear is moving it's never going to be shooting where the reticle is. The damage also looked rather low but it does have infinite ammo.
so basically unless it changes dont bother with the turret.

Please make my mind up for me. Flak or Zane I play a fair bit by myself which is the stronger of the 2 running solo.
It seems like both are very viable choices for solo play... however I do think FL4K is better for solo because he has really good synergy with his pets. They can even revive him when he's downed when you spec into a specific skill

That is one of their action skills, Rakk summoning. So yes, it's one of their three action skill choices. Alongside pet portal, and invisibility damage buff.
If I'm going sniping, FL4K would be the best vault hunter?
Yeah they have tons of precision stuff. Moze would be 2nd best since she also has quite a few precision things, but Fl4k wins by a lot IMO. Lots of crit damage and damage, plus things like extra damage while standing still/full health super leans into sniping.
Flak and I also saw that he had a sniper class mod

I don't see why that wouldn't be possible. In BL2, I would often see entire teams of 4 Sirens.

The Jabber's speaks are pretty varied but I still thinking of at which point will be horribly annoying? I think her speaks must be reduced. She doesn't have to talk all the time.

So since we're getting new abilities rather than new characters with the dlc, who else really wants to see Fl4k get a dinosaur pet like one of those Ravagers and/or an ability to ride a larger dinosaur like Tyrant into battle!?

umm you could have talked about whats going on... all I see is the weapons you use, hardly ever see the pets or I mistake them for enemies...
I’m having such a shitty time playing solo. I feel like turning the game off after about an hour. Nothing good or fun has happened so far.

Yeah but the damage numbers and health and shield arent as high like in bl2 i think the massive damage numbers was part of the outrageous fun. I wish they brought those back otherwise it would be perfect imo. I just feel like your character should get stronger the farther in the story of borderlands you go. I thought they were gonna follow that trend because in bl1 they had the lowest numbers then 2 shot the numbers up drastically and in the pre sequel they toned it back because it happened before 2. I just feel like my bl2 character would just obliterate my bl3 guy in a fight.
